After finishing up packing at the previous digging site, Izumi had suggested that they continue through the Badlands in order to maximize the time that they had together. He’d already gotten a fossil from earlier, and she had already made up her mind to give him the extra marble that she’d just found to him after they were done searching through the entire area. Rather than waste supplies, it’s best to continue searching… since it would be a fracking hassle if we kept going back and forth on different days just to search… she thought as she then looked over her shoulder and saw that her Lucario and Grotle were following her. She’d also heard word from a certain female red-head that there was a tendency for some ‘mons to come out of nowhere and cause trouble; and that she’d capitalized on them by training—and decided to apply the same practice in this instance.
“Hey, Vince—Haya,” she began, stopping for a few moments to look at the two, “I know that this part of the Badlands is going to be pretty hairy. So… just a heads-up, okay? Haya, I know you need the training more than Vince—but all the same, just be ready if in case you guys see anything unusual, alright?” she said in a reassuring tone towards the two; and they nodded, before looking over to where josh was, a little ways behind them. She then cupped her hands to her mouth and then called out,“Hey, Slowpoke L’Oreal, hurry and pick up the pace! We don’t have all day to search through the area! We got to make the most of it before night falls!” with a teasing grin on her face; shovel balanced on her right shoulder, backpack full of snacks loaded up and hoisted on her left shoulder.

After finishing up packing at the previous digging site, Izumi had suggested that they continue through the Badlands in order to maximize the time that they had together. It sounded good to him, he supposed. No use for wasting time and supplies when they could just do it now, right? Josh had gotten a fossil, and Izumi had gotten a mega stone. Decent for a first haul, he supposed. Josh just hoped that the rest of this trip would yield things they didn't already have, that would be useful to them. With them were a Grotle and Lucario, belonging to Izumi. As well, on Josh's shoulder was his Pikachu, Lightning. Following close behind was his Bunnelby, Destructor. Josh had also brought his Charizard, Fawkes, for transportation, and a few other Pokemon should the need for them come.
Izumi had mentioned in that transitionary period between the two threads that Pokemon would come and cause trouble, sometimes even attack. Josh had dealt with troublemakers before. They liked to steal his findings and carry them off before he could get them back. But attack? No, not so far. Hopefully, that wouldn't be the case here either... Though potentially being able to train with them was an attractive thought, he had to admit. His diggers spent more time digging then battling, he realized.
As Izumi would tell him to hurry up, he would respond with a cheeky smirk; before his next response constituted bringing his palm to the rear end of Izumi. He gave her a playful smile after the smack, not another word before he motioned to Destructor and Lightning. They'd already heard Izumi's briefing, she'd just given it to her Pokemon and they were right behind her after all. Josh would hoist the shovel off his shoulder and get digging, and his two Pokemon would follow suit.

As the Lucario and the Grotle trotted off in order to start “digging” in their own unique way, Izumi then felt like someone had… slapped her back side! “Hey!” she began, chuckling all the while at the contact, before picking up the shovel and then beginning to work, shoveling as much dirt as she could out of the way. It didn’t take too long before her shovel had hit something…and she heard an ominous-sounding crash. “Oh boy,” she began, shaking her head as she then unearthed the thing her shovel had violated—it was revealed to be another one of the “Relic” item series; and it was split down the middle. “Yikes, that’s one ugly piece…” she trailed off with a grin, before chucking the shovel loaded with the broken “bracelet” off to one side, and then moving some distance away in order to continue trying her luck at that location.
The Grotle was now stomping down at the ground with much gusto, causing it to erupt like crazy, showering the Luca who was not too far away, pawing away at the grit and not finding anything of value nor worth. Sighing, the Luca then moved over to another spot and proceeded to paw through the dirt in that spot, hoping that he’d be able to turn up something that would please either his mistress or her companion! Izumi had now taken to whistling in order to be able to stave off the boredom, as more and more piles of dirt began to fill the location where they were at; her eyes scouring the ground for something that sparkled and shined (or winked up) at her from the grit.

Josh's shovel would hit something, and the blonde tilted his head. Because that didn't sound like the clang he liked. Instead, it was a crash, like something like broken. Investigating, he found another one of those statues... The blonde let out a groan. Another dud! That was two in a row for the terrible twosome! Josh rolled his eyes, fucking figures, he thought.
"Another dud, Zuzu" he said as he moved to another spot. His Pokemon would notice this and change spots as well, just in case before they got back to digging. "Our luck hasn't been great lately, has it?" he asked, looking over at Izumi. "Especially you. Your ass must be crimson red at this point" he teased with a cheeky grin. "Sorry" he added, chuckling.
Hours would pass, and Josh was beginning to wonder if they would find anything of worth. Or better yet, something they hadn't found before.

As Izumi continued digging, she then heard a melodic “clink” noise—and then quickly hastened on her digging through the area. as she finally laid the source of the “clink” noise to light, she saw that it was a marble—but it was something that her Breeder associate already had a duplicate of, and would be giving to her in the near future! She then grinned, before sighing—and then deciding to bury the marble again in order to be able to continue searching. She knew that she was going to be getting a few more marbles soon; she just wanted to see if she would still be able to find something else.
Over at where the Lucario and the Grotle were located, the Luca was still pawing through the ground in order to be able to find something—which he hadn’t so far—and then looked over at where the Grotle was, apparently spamming Earth Power like there was no tomorrow and knocking up earth “icicles” in order to try and see if they’d come across something. “Hmm… time to try searching elsewhere…” she continued, before moving to another spot, somewhere closer to the two Pokémon who were digging and then stuck the ground with her shovel.

"Find anything yet?" Josh called over to Izumi as he noticed Inferno had dug something out. Another one of those relic bands. "Grrrr.. GRAAA!" He let out in anger over finding the dud before punting it across the area. "Whoa, Inferno! Calm down!" Josh said, sighing as he patted the Typhlosion on the back. "Our lucks been bad, I know. But getting frustrated won't do anything" he said as he patted him on the back. "Let's get back to work" he said, and Inferno would nod in return.
Josh sighed heavily as he picked up the shovel again and got back to work. Would they find something worthwhile? Who knows?

She thought she’d heard something rising from where Josh was digging, and looked around just in time to see Inferno apparently chuck something halfway across the area where they were searching; and she tried her best not to chuckle. Who knew that Arashi’s younger brother had quite the volatile temper? At least Ara’s not like that. He keeps calm under grace and pressure… most of the time, she thought to herself as she continued to watch Josh trying to calm the pissed-off Typhlosion down. She then let a few chuckles escape her lips before returning her attention to the area where she was digging—however it looked like it was a bad place, so she then decided to shift to another area. She noticed that she was inching closer and closer to where the Lucario and Grotle were still “digging”, or doing some semblance of it. I hope you guys find something good… she thought as she turned her attention to the groud, shoveling dirt away all the while.
Over at where the two Pokémon were located, the Grotle had just finished stamping down again—when it had sent something flying into the air. The Lucario looked at the thing as it was sent airborne, before coming down with an unceremonious crashing noise—one that sounded very familiar to Izumi’s ears. The Grotle could only shrug, and continued to use Earth Power while the Luca went over to investigate—and saw that it was yet another one of the items that his mistress loathed to find whenever they went out on digs like this. Shrugging, he then punted it across in a nonchalant manner; where it broke apart even further and caused another shattering noise to echo throughout the clearing. Izumi could only sigh; as she continued to stab the ground with the shovel; trying to quell off the disgust that was welling up inside her. Had they chosen a bad spot to search? Who knew?

Josh kept digging... And digging.... And digging. But still, nothing came up. Inferno was obviously frustrated, as was Destructor. Josh let out a sigh as he looked back at Izumi.
"Hey Zuzu, I think if we don't find anything anytime soon, it might be best we move to a new spot" he called over to the girl. "Seriously, it's been dud after dud here. Kind of getting tired of the shenanigans" he said, shaking his head. He could tell his Pokemon were getting frustrated, and quite frankly, so was he. He didn't even see the Shiny Stone that was in the ground nearby.
"Gah..." he muttered as he stopped to take a break. This month hadn't been good for digs at all, really. Besides maybe a lucky break each for the both of them, their Badlands digs had been near fruitless. He just hoped that the last one for the month went better then this.
He was tempted to just take the next thing they found.
