Now that the nightmarish trip to the Badlands had ended, Izumi had decided to try something out—to see if the streak of bad luck that everyone else was experiencing at the moment was going to be snapped if she tried to venture into the Badlands—true to its name—with a partner. This digging “partner” she was referencing, of course, was a certain individual that she’d been sharing a lot of time with lately—discussing strategies, piecing together a four-person plan that they would start to implement as soon as the opportunity presented itself… this person was none other than Josh, whom she’d dragged into her little problem of knowing just half of the knowledge of how the Mega Stones tied together with the shining, shimmering, splendid rainbow-colored Key Stone in her possession. Well, I got him tangled into this crap. Time to get him untangled out of it. But first things first… where is he? She thought to herself, looking up from the spot in the Badlands where she was waiting for him to arrive.
She’d already left a voice message on his number stating to just go straight to the Badlands and meet her there instead of meeting up in Lumiose and going to the excavation site together—she was raring to actually get this going and just start searching. Little did she know that Josh had been busy, too—well, she was as well, having found one of the so-called “rarest” marbles in existence (as of the moment) and had now apparently gained the drive to raise all of her other “army” members. “C’mon Josh, time’s a wastin’… the faster you get here, the quicker we can work out our game plan and get digging…” she muttered to herself, balancing herself on the balls of her feet, jumping agitatedly in place; waiting for him to show up, shovel and Pokémon partners in tow. As of now, she already had an idea of just who to use when they started digging so that they could cover more room, but decided to save it until he actually got here!

"Go, Inferno! Use Dig!" Someone would suddenly call out. A few seconds later, a Typhlosion would pop out of the ground in front of Izumi. "Gra!" he let out and waved hello. A chuckle came from nearby as Josh walked over, smirking a bit at Izumi.
"Hey there Smellzy. Sorry I'm late" the blonde said. He looked like he hadn't slept a wink. "We tracked down all the Pokemon that we had written down, but we can't find the ones whose papers got burned up. So mom said she'd do a bit of looking while I handled this" he explained. "I haven't slept, but... I'm here" he said with a laugh. "And yeah, Inferno learned Dig. Perfect for things like this" he explained as he leaned a forearm on her shoulder playfully.
"So, you ready?" he asked, chuckling cheekily. While Josh was tired, he was still raring to go. He wondered what he and Izumi could dig up here... Perhaps his luck would change with a partner?

Seeing that she was not alone—and the familiar “dulcet tones” of her favorite travelling companion was now traveling through the air and had reached her ears, Izumi turned around and saw a very familiar face looking up at her—the first one was that of a Typhlosion that knew her as well as Arashi did; it was Inferno! She then continued to look up and then saw that Josh was back—but instead of being blonde, he was now brown-haired! “What’s up with the sudden hair change?” she asked the tall, scruffy individual. “Wanted to try something new?” she teased with a bit of her grin; watching as the Typhlosion was flexing in front of her—and she broke down into a fit of chuckles. “Heh, I’ll let Arashi know you’re back and well,” she said in the Typhlosion’s direction—before quickly plucking out two Moon Balls; and subsequently sending out their occupants.
The first one spat out a draconian Pokémon that had a wingspan that could rival her Braviary’s, but looked more like a bat than a dragon; if anything. “Heh. I’ve been busy,” she began, watching as Ishi, otherwise known as Ishtar the Noivern unfurled her wings and then stood waiting on the ground, looking over at Josh with much interest. The second Moon Ball spat out a human-shape canine-like silhouette that was colored a darker shade of blue, along with vestiges of yellow running down from its throat almost to its hips; with a single spike-like protrusion sticking out of its chest. Its hands were better-rounded now as compared to when he was much younger; and there were two claws—one on each left and right-hand side. He looked more like a jackal than a playful, loopy little one—and if Josh looked closely, the Lucario that had unfurled itself into a standing position still had the tuft of spiky hair that he wouldn’t let anyone touch—not even Izumi.
“This… is Vincent,” she said with a sheepish grin on his face. “He… became a lot more serious when he evolved after very nearly getting shocked to death by a band of Pichu,” she said by way of explanation, watching as Vince lowered himself into a bow at the sight of the brown-haired individual not too far away. Even if his hair color had changed somewhat, he knew that this was the human that his mistress seemed to favor quite a lot; because of his aura. It was reeking of exhaustion though, and the Lucario couldn’t help but look at him with the glint of concern in its eye. “He’s asking if you’re okay. He can detect your exhaustion from a mile away…” she trailed off; before whistling a few chained notes. At once, the Noivern then took off into the sky—while the Lucario flexed his paws, before quickly assuming a starting position.
“Shall we get started, then?” she asked, waiting for Josh to get the ball rolling for them, cracking a grin on her face.

"Huh?" he asked, blinking at her comment about his hair. "Huh, I must have gotten sand in it" he said, shaking the sand out of his BLONDE hair. It wasn't HIS fault that the best FC he had LOOKED like it had blonde hair, but Hetalia fanatics had to bitch and moan...
Josh laughed a bit at Inferno's reactions and patted the Typhlosion's head. "Ah, he's still a little show off" he said, grinning. "I don't think he's left my party since he evolved. And I wouldn't dare try to leave him at the ranch either. As much as the guy deserves a break, I feel like I'd be the target of a Flamethrower if I didn't take him with me" he said with a laugh. "Same with Lightning. I've already tried to give him a break" he said, laughing nervously. "He... Shocked me, obviously. Literally" he explained. "Wouldn't take no for an answer. The second he saw me leaving, he realized what was happening and shocked me so I wouldn't leave. I gave up, let him climb on my shoulder and I was on my merry way" he said, shrugging.
"Pika!" would soon follow as Lightning would let himself out of his Pokeball to cling to Josh's shoulder and greet Izumi with said cry and wave.
"Annnnd he heard me" Josh said, laughing a bit. "Hey Lightning" he said, patting his head. "Alright, we best get going" he said as he took out two more Pokeballs. "Go, Destructor! Salia!" Josh called as he let out the two diggers, his Bunnelby and Growlithe.
"Bunnelby!" Destructor greeted, a Pokemon that Izumi hadn't really gotten to meet before besides passing him at the ranch. "Ruff!" Salia let out as she looked up at Izumi, recognizing her. Of course, Salia had accompanied them on their walk around the ranch. "Alright you two, you know the drill!" Josh said as Destructor would quickly use his talents to dig himself underground and get to work. Salia would bark in affirmative and start digging into the ground with her paws.
"These two love digging more then any of my other Pokemon, so I bring them quite often to my digs" he explained. "They love it and they're my good luck charms, so I don't mind working them well since they don't mind doing it. They enjoy it, so it doesn't bother them any"
He smirked over at Inferno, who was staring at him awaiting orders. "Cmon Inferno, you don't need me to tell you what to do with this" he said with a laugh. Inferno would tilt his head and let his tongue hang out of his mouth, giving the goofiest grin ever. "Oh fine!" he said, laughing harder. "Inferno, use Dig!" Josh called. "Gra!" Inferno let out in affirmative and would leap back into the hole he had made to dig for treasure.
"Smartass" Josh commented with a laugh as he watched Inferno disappear into the ground.

Now that they’d agreed to work together, and Josh had apparently sent out the “go” signal, the Lucario then flexed his paws, before diving right at the ground and beginning to shovel dirt out of the way. “Well, technically Vince doesn’t know Dig, but he’s just as bloody eager as I am to get searching. Ishi will be our lookout in the sky if ever she finds anything shining, shimmering and splendid… and of course…” she trailed off, quickly grabbing the folded shovel she had strapped to her backpack, collapsing it so that it was at full “height”, and then cracked a grin his way. “I’ve got to do some of the dirty work as well…” as she then whistled herself into silence and then began digging into the grit. The Lucario was now excavating something that looked like a shallow trench, while Izumi was busy digging a hole as fast and as deep as she could.
She knew that his ‘mons were also tunneling beneath their feet, so she hoped that she didn’t hit any single one of them by accident! After some time of digging in silence; the Lucario had found something… and apparently, it wasn’t the same as the weird collection of marbles that he’d seen his mistress show to him some time ago. He then contemplated the weird… relic-like thing in front of him, before stopping and then pulling it out of the dust. It came free with a popping noise—and the noise that shattered the silence made Izumi look up; and then chuckle as the Lucario struggled to hold the weird statue in his paws. “Vince, thanks for trying… but… that’s not what we need. Try again, dear,” she said with a smile on her face, before waving the statue off to one side. Seeing that his mistress didn’t want it, he then placed it carefully down somewhere and then continued to go through the shallow-sized trench that he’d begun digging.

Josh chuckled a bit as he saw Izumi start digging herself, and saw the Lucario's sadly unimpressive find. "Eh, I see those all the time. Though they usually get destroyed" he admitted. "They're so fucking fragile, one wrong swipe and they get cracked and smashed before you can even see what you dug up. Best to just leave it there. One of the Pokemon living around there will grab it, they seem to love collecting the stuff" he said. "Be careful what you dig up too. Some of the Pokemon living here like to steal what you dug up. It's not fun" he admitted with an exasperated sigh.
And with that, Josh grabbed his shovel and got digging, joining Destructor, Salia and Inferno. Even Lightning joined in with a trowel, digging tiny holes in the ground which, while they probably didn't do much, at least the Pikachu was making an effort to help.

Ishi was hovering above the spot where the two humans (and a lot of other Pokémon besides) were digging—and then the glittering light of something shining, shimmering and definitely splendid caught her eye. She then let out an almighty screech as she then dive-bombed towards the ground, sending Izumi diving out of the way, screaming in surprise as well as the Noivern shot by her in a blur—and then was hovering near her once again; holding something in her mouth. “Ishi! Don’t scare me like that!” she exclaimed, holding a hand to her chest—the shovel had flown out of her hands; but the shock was still lingering as the Noivern then hovered near her… and then spat out the thing it had spotted; which rocketed right at her face, striking her forehead dead-center! “Ouch!” she shrieked out of surprise as she then caught the thing that had hit her with her free hand… and then it made her stop and stare at it out of wonder.
“Heh… heh… AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yes!!!” was the first thing that came from Izumi’s lips several seconds later, the peal of laughter echoing around the area. “Looks like it was a smart idea to team up with you after all, my good man!” she exclaimed a few moments later, holding up the dark-red marble. It was definitely none of what she had found; it was most definitely a sight for sore eyes, at the very least. “I’m definitely taking this one home,” she added with a grin as she then reached for the carrying case she always lugged around with her and then cracked it open, before whistling Josh over. “Hey, c’mere and take a look at what I’ve got so far…” she added, quickly locating an empty compartment and then dropping in the dark red marble into a slot that was right next to the bluish-black one that was her only other good find as of the month.
“I only got two new ones… but I think you should see this other one…” she trailed off, indicating the Charizardite X (not that she knew what it was called yet) and now, the dark-red marble which she would eventually find out to be a Blazikenite.

"Hm?" Josh let out as he noticed Izumi had found something. Upon inspection as he walked over, he recognized it. "Funny, I actually have one of these myself" he said, taking out his case of mega stones, which sadly did not include the Charizardite X his writer wanted so badly, that Izumi taunted him with so much, and showing the Blazikinite he had.
His eyes hovered to the one she indicated to him. "Interesting. Do you know what Pokemon it's for?" he asked, tilting his head. "Or what Pokemon any of these are for? We both have so many of these, but we have no idea how to use them... Or what to associate them with. Right now, they're just collectible marbles" he explained, scratching his head.
Meanwhile, Destructor had accidentally destroyed a Shiny Stone while digging, but hadn't noticed it. Damnit Destructor. His name rings true in this situation, it seems.
[3 rolls to go for me I guess. Damnit Izumi for getting yours so early]

Another one of those things they weren't looking for? Lightning didn't think so. "Piiii.... Kaaaaaa..." Lightning whined. His first dig! And it was those things that neither Josh or Izumi cared about! The Pikachu irritably tossed it aside to be kidnapped by some other Pokemon whilst he looked over at the other Pokemon. He was kind of jealous, actually. Inferno knew dig. Destructor and Salia were digging machines, and here he was digging with a trowel and looking useless! "Pika..." Lightning whined as he looked down, embarassed at himself. Josh noticed this and smiled a bit, picking up Lightning. "Aww, come on. You're doing great" Josh encouraged with a grin, trying to cheer his partner up. "Pi?" Lightning responded, looking up at Josh before his ears perked right back up. "Pi-Ka!" he chirped happily. That sparked him right back up. Josh smiled as Lightning would leap out of his arms and get right back to work!
While Josh hadn't meant to inspire Lightning into working, just cheer him up, at least the Pikachu had it's self confidence back. That was all Josh could ask for. He nodded over at Izumi, who was no doubt taking a break by now since she'd found her treasure, and then kept digging himself...
Come on, he needed something good here... Something he'd never found before...
[Might as well grab these rolls quick and finish up since you've already got your treasure, aye Zuzu?]
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found a RARE BONE ! A bone that is extremely valuable for Pokémon archeology. It can be sold for a high price to shops.
