After the surprising little discovery that he’d come across a few days ago when he came out at the very start of the October digging season, Kouji was now raring and ready to go for another day out at the Badlands. He’d decided to go digging late in the afternoon—because early mornings weren’t really his thing (as he’d discovered pretty recently) plus the mid-day sun was really a killer, even if the autumn season had already begun to sweep across the Kalos region. He decided to pack light; just cramming a few sandwiches and a small flask of water into his messenger bag; along with the case that contained the few weird, sparkling rocks he’d found so far in the Badlands. He knew that he’d been running into duplicates lately; but it was something he didn’t mind—because he already had someone who was going to be receiving the doubles as payment in the future!
“Right, let’s get going…” he said, quickly scooping up the shovel and then exiting the small rented flat he was staying in, and then finding himself on the Lumiose streets sometime later. He then saw that there were people milling around—but paid them no heed; because he was here on a mission: he had to get to the Badlands as fast as humanly able. Once he had done so, he saw that the line wasn’t as long as he was normally used to, and therefore made his way towards the checkpoint as he was able to. After getting the green light to go digging, he then picked up the messenger bag and then shot right into the Badlands proper—where everything looked the same to him no matter where he dug. “Heh, even if I leave a mark somewhere, it’ll get swept away… oh well, whatever,” he muttered to himself as he then began marching through the area, looking for a spot he hadn’t desecrated yet with his shovel. After going past several other people who were already digging, he then saw an untouched spot, and decided that it would be as good as any so that he could start searching.
“Here goes…” he muttered as he then stuck the point of the shovel into the dirt; before starting to move little piles of dirt off to one side.
