Well, he did ask me to meet him somewhere in the region. I just hope he doesn’t kill me since I chose the meeting place… she thought to herself as she then sat down on one of the wooden planks that held up the housing sector in Fortree City, also known as the place where civilization had become one with nature. He did say look for a nice place to meet up with him, and this is as unique as it can get… she continued musing to herself as she continued to fiddle around with her mobile phone, wondering what he was up to right now. He said that he’d met another individual—and said individual was a part of the little “training group” that they were working on forming right now. From the looks of things, it’s me and Josh who have the most know-how in terms of Pokémon, moves and other things… she continued to muse as her free hand reached for a back pocket and then pulled out a notepad, along with attached pen.
“Right, so…” she trailed off, holding the pen’s cap in her mouth as she flipped the notepad open to a fresh page and began scribbling a series of notes; these notes were going to be what she was going to “teach” (as best as she could anyway) because from what she could remember of one of their crazy phone conversations, Josh had managed to somehow cobble together a group of individuals who had the same track of getting stronger without necessarily getting into the complicated thing that was known as Trainer battles. “Well, I sure raise ‘em with a firm, guiding hand and a lot of love… but that’s common sense,” she muttered around the pen cover in her mouth as she snickered before continuing to write down a few more additional things they were going to cover with their eventual “training sessions”.
Out of the two (or three, possibly four) Josh was the one who could battle the best; and she could give him that—but she knew a lot more on the “move” side of things, like how a certain move would be used—and what their obvious (and not so obvious) tells were like. “Heh, he’s so going to laugh at me…” she sniggered before scribbling a few more notes down on the notepad.

Why had Izumi picked Fortree City? Honestly, he didn't fucking know. But he'd already introduced Maxine to Doug, and Izumi to Maxine, after getting the bright idea of having four like-minded folks train together for the betterment of their Pokemon and themselves. Izumi seemed to be on board, as did the brunette and the ginger, so why not? Well, they just had to complete the cycle now. Doug and Izumi. Simple, right?
Wrong.
Josh hadn't been here much, so he still had difficulty finding his way around Fortree City. And he doubted Doug had even been here before, so not much help there. As they walked around, looking for Izumi, Josh looked over at Doug.
"Welp, this is Fortree. The only city where everyone is incredibly behind on the times" he joked with a cheeky smirk. "And the easiest one to get lost in, in Hoenn. A great place for Maxine to get us to go, I suppose" he cracked, sighing. All he knew about Fortree was trees. That was all they needed.
Finally, he recognized the Smellynator, Izumi. "Hey! Izumi!" he called out, motioning for Doug to follow.
Once again, Doug found himself being pulled along to another random location in this region. It excited him, yet sort of made him feel awkward at the same time due to his strange personality. This city was... Interesting. Unlike any he has ever seen in fact. A bizarre sort of city where almost all of the buildings are treehouses of some sort. A cool, yet odd location for another random meeting with another chick he does not know.
Similarly to Josh, Doug too was finding the city to be a bit confusing as he just followed along after the tall blondie. As Josh began talking to him, he listened. "You're telling me. I guess it's what makes it unique?" He said with a cheeky little smile himself, albeit still a bit curious about the location. He took a deep breath as he looked around.
He heard Josh call out a name "Izumi" towards a woman that totally does not look like Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender and he followed along after him when ol' Joshua motioned for him to follow.

Maybe choosing this city wasn’t such a good idea—but it also offered her an inspiration for some of her planned “lessons” for their little “training camp” that they were going to be kicking off today. She’d already met Maxine over in Littleroot; over the crazy-ass “folding motorcycle” that could shrink down to the size of a freakin’ ring box! She did remember hearing the brunette-haired girl screeching for her life as they rode around the Dragomir Ranch in the small town located in the heart of Hoenn—but that was a story for another day. Apparently, today was going to be an informal—or was it formal—meeting of sorts between herself, Josh and the remaining member of the four-person group they were forming… if they would be able to find her in this uniquely-designed city, that is!
Oops, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have them come here… but then again, I’m trying to keep Josh away from Lavaridge as much as possible because snoopy wait staff is so damned snoopy… she thought to herself, a dark look temporarily passing over her face; which snapped off as she heard a familiar voice… call her something that should only remain with the two! With this completely exasperated look on her face, she looked up and saw that Josh wasn’t alone—in fact he was currently with a younger boy; if she was going to take a guess, between the four of them in the group—was his companion the youngest? Who knew? At least they’re together, saves us the trouble of looking for someone in this very strange city… she mused to herself as she quickly snapped the notepad shut and then stood up from where she was sitting, sizing up the L’oreal hair commercial model with this knowing look on her face. “Heh, so we meet again, hair care endorser,” she said in Josh’s direction with this smirk on her face.
Now that she had the notepad in her hands once again, she then slipped the notepad into her pocket before studying the younger boy’s (Doug) features; noting that his hair also reminded her of a certain youngster in a certain film franchise—thankfully the younger boy’s eyes didn’t go all feral and snakelike at the presence of another human after drinking from a certain pool of water!

He stuck his tongue out at her as they found her. "Greetings, Smellynator" he cracked with a smirk.
He motioned her toward the ginger-Imean redhead. "Izumi, this is Doug. He's a Trainer starting out, but the kid's got a load of potential. To the point that Fawkes evolved battling him. There's a reason that crafty Charizard picked that time, I just know it. He gave me a run for my money, so I figured that since we're all hoping to get stronger, we could all train together" he explained. "Help strengthen all of us"
"Doug, this is Izumi" he said, motioning from Doug to Izumi. "She's an experienced Trainer, has helped me out a lot. Whether it's showing me around Lavaridge, or getting connections to a local breeder. She's been a big help, and she's a great Trainer. I think training along with her, myself and Maxine will be a great help to you" he said.
Doug was sort of gazing off into outer space there. Though the mention of a rather odd nickname, "Smellynator", confused him. Maybe it was some kind of joke? Or something had happened? He had no clue, but he just went with it. The lady, Izumi, had even called him a hair care endorser. This was a rather humorous exchange of words if he could say so himself.
He scratched his nose a little and sort of looked over at the lady as Josh went on with the usual and proper introductions between him and that "smelly", at least according to Josh, lady. He sort of looked on at her as Josh went on with the introductions, going on with who she was and all of that usual business when meeting people. He cracked his neck a little at the progressive mentions of training. He took a breath and waved a little at Izumi. "Good day, madam." He would speak towards her after Josh had finished with what he had to say.

She cringed at the mention of Doug calling her “madam”, before she stood up from where she was seated and then raised a hand. “Geez, Doug. Don’t make me any older than I already am,” she began with a grin on her face; screwing the fact that she was supposed to appear the most “knowledgeable” out of all of them “If there’s anyone you should be addressing with the suffixes that can make one seem older than their age—bring it to Josh,” she added, the grin getting wider on her face. “So yes. He mostly hit the nail on the head—in terms of helping him get around, getting settled down in the region; and I must add, welcome to Hoenn for the both of you,” she continued on with a simple flourish behind her. “Sorry if I chose the city that’s a part of nature as our first meeting place,” she added with another sheepish grin on her face. “I… felt it could have been dramatic. But anyway…”
Izumi then reached for the notepad that she had tucked away earlier and then flipped through it and then began writing down something on it; before ripping it out of the notepad and handing it to Doug. “Here. Have my mobile number. We four need to be in contact, more than anything else, if we’re going to be all training together and planning stuff,” she said by way of explanation—she already had Josh’s number; and she made a mental note to ask him later for Maxine’s after the meeting was over. “For now… Josh told me you can hold your own in a battle. Asides from that, do you know any other survival skills?” she asked, pondering if she could work in a bit of her mundane martial-arts know-how into the routine. She knew that Josh could already make a fire and always be prepared for anything else in the wild come whatever circumstance would be tossed her way; but she wanted to know if Doug was also prepared in the same way.
“We’re not just going to get strong by way of Pokémon battling and raising them with lots of care, we need to get stronger as individuals too. That also includes survival techniques, self-defense… just things we need to be really aware of, if we’re caught in any situation without our own Pokémon to help us out,” she continued, scribbling down even more plans on a fresh sheet in the notepad. “What do you guys think?”

WORDS 419 TAGSJosh Dragomir and @dougrasendori NOTESHurr I'm not that old
Post by Josh Dragomir on Oct 19, 2014 22:05:56 GMT -5
He laughed a bit at Doug's insinuation that Izumi was old. "Maybe you ARE getting old and just not realizing it?" the blonde joked cheekily with a cheeky grin to match shooting the way of Izumi. He had a feeling they'd all get along just fine. "It's fine" he said to her apology in terms of their... Rather odd location. "Needed to explore more anyway, even if I hate this city already" he said, laughing a bit. "Pika Pi!" Lightning chirped on Josh's shoulder.
He stayed silent then as he let Izumi give Doug the 1-2. No need for him to get involved. This was between Izumi and Doug. This was her part, after all. They would work together on it, but this was Izumi's time to shine.
Finally he spoke, nodding. "Doug seemed to be pretty new at it. I doubt he got far" he said. "We'll have to teach him. Maxine will be fine, I'm sure. She was like a pupil to me, so I taught her a lot of survival tricks. But both can learn something, I'm sure" he said.
"Speaking of battling..." he trailed off. "Why don't you two have a battle to feel each other out? It'd be a good way to train and gauge each other's strengths" he suggested. "I'll be the referee"
Doug sort of felt a bit awkward and sheepish after that brief wording. He didn't really mean for the insinuation that Izumi was old, he was just doing it to sound humorous if anything. "Uh.. My bad. I didn't mean that..." He quietly said, trying to remedy a slight error on his part with his wording.
He would take the torn out piece of paper that she handed him which contained her phone number and looked at it. He nodded and folded the paper, putting it into one of the pockets of his jeans. Izumi would continue on and he would stay listening intently, she would then go on to a question about his survival skills, a thought that never really occurred to him. "Well... I have been travelling around on foot and moving throughout the area if that counts for anything." He said awkwardly, pretty sure that this relatively simple action didn't really count for anything survival related and he was probably just stating the obvious. He was pretty sure he could learn some relatively simple things if they're brought up.
She then would continue talking and he would nod throughout, scratching his slightly fuzzy chin a little. "Pretty reasonable things to ready up and practice. I think you got the right idea." He would say after she finished, smiling shyly. Afterwards, Josh would begin talking himself. He wound up saying what was pretty much true... He likely would need the teaching. Doug sort of crossed his arms a little. Josh would then mention the obvious topic when it came to this adventure... The notion of a Pokemon Battle between Doug and Izumi. Shocker, isn't it? He scratched his head. "Uh.. I guess that could work? What do you think, Izumi?" He would say and then ask.

“I don’t mind taking part in joint lessons, if that’s what you’re asking,” she said in Josh’s direction, teasing him with a grin on her face. “In fact, that’s what this is all about, right? Us bringing to the table, some of the best ideas and practices that we have; in order to make everyone involved a well-rounded and balanced individual,” she ended with a grin; before her ears perked up at the notion of her and Doug having a little battle. Izumi here was no stranger to battles—as long as the opponents were wild ‘mons; or those going crazy in the missions that she’d been drabbling in again as of late. But an actual application against another individual—who wasn’t a Gym Leader, to boot? She then nodded, already grinning at this point; she had just the one to use—most of her ‘mons had gotten in their experience; but this one was going to be her first battle, after all. She was, of course, talking about Hayato. “Let me bring out some of my other ‘mons to watch our battle,” she said, quickly plucking out a Safari and a Love Ball, before sending out their occupants.
“Guys, feel free to watch us spar, okay?” she said as the two flashes of red light then transformed into a shiny Gardevoir; as well as a Bagon. “Alright, they’re just here to watch. The Bagon’s name is Gabriel; the Gardevoir’s name is Momiji—but I refer to her as Momo,” she said, introducing the two ‘mons, for Doug’s benefit. She then had her hands hovering over a Quick Ball, which she then began tossing up and down. “She’s what I’m going to be using for the actual battle,” she added, sending out the Quick Ball’s occupant—revealing in the flash of red light, a Grass-type that wasn’t native to Hoenn; but was found quite proliferant in another region entirely. “Meet Hayato. She’s my Turtwig,” she began, watching as the Tiny Turtle ‘mon then appeared, before landing with a thud on the ground. “Shall we begin after you send your own ‘mon out?” she asked the ginger-headed young man, waiting for him to make his choice. Having Josh as the referee was a good idea—and if the scruffy-haired, taller individual would notice, there was a… different air around the Turtwig.

WORDS 390 TAGSJosh Dragomir & @dougrasendori NOTESTurtwig to battle; Bagon & Gardevoir to spectate
Post by Josh Dragomir on Oct 26, 2014 12:45:40 GMT -5
It had been a habit lately for Josh to arrange Pokemon battles between members of this group. He'd already battled all 3 of them, so he was covered. He was sure that Maxine would battle Izumi, in time...
For now, Josh would nod as Izumi sent her Pokemon out. "Whoa, let's get out of Fortree first" Josh said as he started to lead them out of the city. Eventually, Josh would lead them to a large clearing, perfect for a battle. There were large tree stumps everywhere, perfect to be used as vantage points and high ground. They were in a circle of trees as well, the trees surrounding the clearing... Trees that could be used to their advantage if they knew how to properly strategize.
Josh would take his position and wait for the other two to do so. "If you don't mind, I'm going to let mine spectate as well" he said as he started to let his Pokemon out.
"Go, Lightning! Inferno! Fawkes! Bastilo! Vulcan! Ignis!" he called as he opened all six Pokeballs on his belt. "Pika!" Lightning chirped as the Pikachu climbed onto his shoulder. Fawkes would let out a roar as he would lie in the grass like a drawn french girl, looking to watch the battle from a relaxed perspective. "Wartortle!" Bastilo let out as he would take a seat on one of the small stumps. "Blaziken!" Vulcan let out as he would sit beside Bastilo on another stump. "Chim! Char!" Ignis, the baby Chimchar let out as he looked around curiously. He seemed shy though, and would quickly climb onto Josh's other shoulder.
Josh chuckled a bit before taking his place once again. "This will be a 3 on 3 Single Battle. The Trainer that knocks out 3 of their opponents Pokemon will be the winner! Substitutions are allowed at your discretion!"
"Now if you're ready... Begin the battle!"
(Feel free to skip me during the battle. I'll pop in randomly but we don't need a posting order when it's just you two)
Doug snickered a little, noting that Izumi was getting a little too eager for a battle as she sent out her Pokemon while they were still in the middle of the naturist city. Josh had made note of that himself, reminding them that they should get out of the city first before anything and then proceeding to escort them out into a more appropriate clearing for the battle. Doug made note of the trees in the area, appearing that Josh would expect him to use the surrounding area to try and aid him in the battle, just as when he battled Maxine.
Doug looked as Josh sent out his own Pokemon and scratched his chin. "I suppose there's no harm in letting my little party watch as well..." Doug said, following along with what the others were doing. "Come on out, my friends!" Doug would call out, opening the six Pokeballs on his belt. From the balls would emerge a Pidove, Camden, a Solrock, Sol, a Poliwag, Paulie or Paul, a Charmander, Cole, and a Skitty, Kat. "Dove! Sol... Poli! Char Char! Kitty! Kitty!" All of the Pokemon would let out their respective cries. The sixth ball was interestingly empty as Oron, Doug's beloved Pichu that sported a light blue headband, would emerge out from Doug's curly head of hair once more and crawl onto Doug's shoulder, Doug proceeding to pat his head.
Doug's party of Pokemon, save for Oron, would take their seats on the sidelines, but as Cole was preparing to take a seat, the Charmander would suddenly hear... "Cole! You're up!" Doug had called out to his fiery lizard Pokemon. Cole looked at Doug and hopped up and down a little. "Char! Char!" He cried out excitedly as he quickly ran out in front of Doug. With his excitable Charmander by his side for round 1, he should have the type advantage here in battle. "Now, we can begin." Doug said. He awaited to see how this battle would start out...
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Oct 27, 2014 6:26:38 GMT -5
Apparently, sending out her own ‘mons to spectate also made the other two decide to do the same—thankfully they were well out of the city limits by this time (her Turtiwg, Bagon and Gardevoir following suit) and were on the stretch of grass just outside Fortree (the stretch leading to Lilycove) and watched, with some amusement, as Doug sent out an assortment of ‘mons—she recognized most of them; and noted that it wasn’t just Josh who had a Pichu fetish perched somewhere on their person.; because even Doug had one (who’d seemingly popped out of nowhere, she suspected the Pichu was hiding in his ginger hair). She had two, but they were well over in the Unova region at this moment, mooching off a certain Breeder’s apple orchards. Anyway, her eyebrows went up as she realized that he was going to be using a Charmander that looked vaguely familiar; but decided to ask him about it afterwards.
So I’m going up against a type disadvantage—never mind that, I’ve already got a counter for it. Thanks to duking it out with Josh at Pyre, I let Haya pick up a few tricks here and there… she thought to herself; wondering who would be making the first move… and then deciding to just start things right off the bat. She did have the “disadvantage” right now, or did she…? “Haya. Remember what we practiced? Let’s make things interesting… conjure up a layer of those floating rocks for me, will you?” she began, watching as her Turtwig stood firm on the grass; before the sprout atop its head twitched and glimmered—and then, over on Doug’s side of the “battlefield” several shards of rock fell out of the sky, circling his side of the arena. Izumi knew that unlike the other “entry hazards” that she’d come across, this one that she’d just used to start things off were dependent on the Pokémon type that would come across it. Even if she knew that as of now, it was a bit useless (since the Charmander was already on his side of the field) he’d be in for a surprise if she’d managed to knock down the Fire-type and forced him to switch...
Stealth Rock used, rocks appear on Doug's side of the field.

WORDS 371 TAGS @dougrasendori NOTESWell, we can skip Josh and just get right to it as he said
Post by Josh Dragomir on Oct 27, 2014 10:14:26 GMT -5
Josh nodded as he allowed the battle to begin. He went silent and sat down on a rock that served as his referee platform. A smirk crossed he blonde's face as he saw Doug send out Charmander, the same one that he remembered Izumi giving him. "This is going to get interesting" he said as he looked over at Izumi. She was using the same Turtwig that she had pitted against Lightning back on Mt Pyre in their first battle against one another (Round 2, anyway. They had done a round just before with Bastilo taking on her Riolu. He remembered it too, with his Squirtle evolving in the middle of the battle into a Wartortle)
He watched as Izumi would call for her Turtwig to use a move he recognized. Stealth Rock. Hopefully Doug had no plans to switch, or his Pokemon might be in for some serious pain.
Doug scratched his nose a little as Izumi would begin the battle by making some sharp rocks seemingly appear out of nowhere. He scratched his chin and recalled that this move was Stealth Rock, so he would have to be weary of switching out Cole during the course of this round. Not that he had any plans to in the first place unless Cole were to be rendered unable to battle for any sort of reason.
Doug cracked his neck. "Well, if that's all..." He said in a simple tone with his voice sort of trailing off. He glanced his eyes around the forestry battlefield they were in, noting that he should try to take advantage of his surroundings. There were tree stumps and trees that surround the clearing to use... He was sure that this would come in handy later on. For now, he decided to start off the battle relatively simple. Both Pokemon were on level ground, almost staring each other down, so there wasn't any need to get fancy just yet. "Alright Cole, use Flamethrower." Doug called out toward his excitable little fire lizard. Cole sort of clapped and took a breath in, quickly firing out a concentrated stream of flames towards Hayato after a brief moment. Doug knew he was gonna have to get more creative, but he needed some time for his mind to boot up properly for a battle and he had to do something to get things more properly started... He was still a novice at this as much as he wouldn't want to be.
