“What?” she said the first time he made another crack about her complaining due to the weather conditions, although her expression sounded much more drawn-out than usual. “Not my fault the foil almost toasted my fingers,” she continued, taking another bite of said sandwich, before letting a few moments of silence fall over them. The sandwich was tasty; she had to admit—even if it had been squashed somewhat and now looked like something that came out of a steamroller. She then watched as he began rummaging through his things in order to feed his own ‘mons—she’d fed her team before setting out here, so they were good to go, at least for now.
“Phew, at least the storm should be over by then… we can get to work and clear out as much snow as we can…” she trailed off, halfway done with the sandwich at this point. The two Typhlosion, along with Inferno, had settled down near the fire, all cuddled up together in a great “ball of heat”; the manes on their backs radiating the warmth that was now spreading through the confined space of the cave. “Heh, look at all the heat they’re generating. At least we should be comfy enough until then,” she remarked, looking at the cave entrance—the snow had thinned out somewhat, and she hoped that they would be able to clear out the area within the hour—if at all possible, within the day, because getting stuck outside while in the middle of a snow storm was never a good idea.

WORDS 261 TAGS Josh NOTESSo, when do we start melting snow?

He stuck his tongue out at her when she said that and chuckled. "I thought an expert chef like yourself would know better" he joked with a smirk. He let silence fall upon them as he ate his food, letting Inferno, Fawkes and Lightning have a bite to eat of Poke Food as well. It was good to let everyone eat and get their strength up since they would have work to do.
For now though, Josh relaxed against Izumi, and just let the time pass by in relaxation until finally he opened his eyes to notice that the storm had died down. "Hey, Izumi" he said, getting to his feet. "Looks like the blizzard's over. We should be able to get to work whenever you're ready" he said as he dusted himself off. He smiled and put out the fire, and packed everything up. "I've got 3 fire types with me ready to do this when you are" he said as he let Lightning climb onto his shoulder.
"If we're lucky, we can get this done within the hour and then go get some hot chocolate back in Snowbelle" he stated with a smirk as Inferno and Fawkes got up, ready for work. "You all set, Smelly?"

“I’m more used to working in a kitchen, not on the road. So things change. There are a lot of things to consider when you’re cooking stuff. Location also matters, you know,” she added with a grin, finishing off the rest of the remaining sandwich and then crumpling up the foil; before balling it and then cramming it into one of the spare pockets of her pack. A lull of silence fell, and she didn’t realize that he had already ended up leaning against her; and that made her ears steam red! Of course, a part of her was secretly squealing because of the contact, yet her face rearranged itself into what looked like an impassive, neutral expression—though her ears were burning red. She’d lost track of time, trying to nap until such time she heard him calling her attention, and that made her look up from the stupor she’d sunk into.
The fire went out, and as she suspected, she then reached for her boots and then tapped the inside—thankfully, all of the toasty heat had dried it up just fine. Knotting the shoelaces to one of the free-hanging straps, she then gave a whistle and then pointed outside, watching as Arashi and mama Kaji then unfurled themselves from where they had dozed off on the cave floor, and then marched outside—out into the world where there were drifts far higher than anything they’d ever seen. “Shit, was it really that bad?” she muttered to herself, before reaching into her jacket and plucking out three more containment units—and smirking, because within them was Agni, the Spitfire ‘mon; along with Draken and Mau—she’d brought along as much firepower as she deemed necessary. “Let me lead the way,” she said, tossing the three additional Pokeballs forward, and watching as each burst open to reveal her other companions—the Magmar that ahd made an appearance earlier; who was raring to go; along with a Garchomp and a Flygon that Josh was very much acquainted with.
“You might want to take Agni with you. He knows Sunny Day, and Fire Blast. We’re going to need a crap load of firepower in order to be able to melt all of this snow…” she trailed off, looking at the drifts that were towering over them. The two Typhlosion had lumbered out and were now walking alongside her; while the Garchomp had taken the position of point, and the Flygon was guarding the rear. “Alright, guys. Have at it. Ara, crank up the heat with Sunny Day, why don’t you… and then start melting it with whatever you want to use? Feel free to get started, guys,” she continued, watching as her ‘mons fanned out; before the male Typhlosion let out an explosive roar, along with a crackling display of flames from the mane on his back. “I’ll go cover the right side of the road, you can take care of the left,” she muttered in Josh’s direction, as the glare of the Sunny Day shone down on the entire party—and that’s when her companions began letting loose; the Garchomp opened his maw and then let loose a hot blast of fire, melting the path ahead of them; while the Flygon decided to unleash Heat Wave on the other portions. The two Typhlosion then grinned at each other, before racing ahead of the Garchomp and quickly breathing out intense blasts of flame, powered up by the harsh glare of the sun overhead.

"Oh it was bad alright" Josh replied right behind Izumi as he heard her mumbling. He sighed as the blonde looked out at the landscape. It was a winter wonderland alright... Well, more like a winter nightmare, if you asked him. Everywhere was massive piles of snow. Too big for even children to play in. It would be incredibly dangerous if a child were to come out of Snowbelle City and climb these, so it was best the duo worked on this as fast as they possibly could.
Josh watched with interest as Izumi brought out even more Pokemon. He recognized Flyon from their first mission and smiled faintly. "Good to see he's doing well" he commented. "Your Garchomp and Magmar look impressive as well. I'm sure with more training they will become quite the Pokemon to handle" he chirped with a small smile. "Speaking of familiar faces though..." He trailed off with a smirk as he tossed a Pokeball. "Go, Vulcan!" He said as the Combusken that Izumi would be familiar with from the first mission would pop out. "All three of my fire pokemon that I brought know Flamethrower. They'll be very useful on this endeavor" he encouraged with a chuckle. "If we pool our efforts, we'll be done in no time"
Josh's Pokemon would line up to watch Sunny Day be performed. Lightning, Inferno, Fawkes and Vulcan watched as the suns rays become unbearably hot. Though only Lightning seemed to be sweating.
Josh breathed and nodded at Izumi's words and her offer. "That'd be a good idea" he said. Bringing one of her Pokemon along to help handle the left would help with the job for sure. For now though...
"Alright then! You guys ready?" He said to his group of four. "Pika Pika!" Lightning chirped excitedly. He knew he couldn't help much but he'd do what he could. "Combusken!" Vulcan let out with a salute. "Char Char!" Fawkes roared in affirmative. "Quilava!" Inferno let out eagerly.
Suddenly one of Josh's Pokeballs would open, and out popped a Wynaut. "Wyyyyynaut!" It let out. Josh facepalmed. "Wob, what are you going to do about plowing snow?" Josh asked, dumbfounded that the Wynaut picked now to let itself out of it's Pokeball. "Wy? Wynaut!" It let out in response. "Why not?" Josh responded, blinking. "Because I don't think a Wynaut can do much out here in the cold" he responded. "You're best keeping warm in your Pokeball where it's safe"
"Wynaut!" Wob let out instead, and leaped into one of the giant snowbanks, and started "swimming" around in it. Josh sighed and motioned for his squad to follow him out left. "Alright Squad, Flamethrower!" Josh commanded. "Quilava! Charrrr! Coooooom-BUSSSSKEEEN!" Were each let out as the three fire types loosed powerful Flamethrowers at the snow piles and all in sight, amplified by Sunny Day as they started running around and burning all the snow in sight they could find.
Wob meanwhile would find a spot naturally snowy without inturruption from blizzards, content it wouldn't be bothered there. So it laid against the snow... And started making Snow Angels!

The Magmar looked at the proceedings with confusion, but decided to go with the other Trainer anyways—because if that’s what his boss wanted, he’d follow her orders. “Magmar, mag,” he began, pointing ahead and then quickly letting the fames on his back burn with an intense blast, also cranking up the power of the sun on Josh’s side of the road—he’d used Sunny Day; before taking a deep breath and then exhaling a superheated blast of fire, farther ahead of the three who were now blasting Flamethrower, aided by Sunny Day; he’d just used the first of many Fire Blast techniques. Over at Izumi’s side of the road, the four ‘mons were having too much fun—the Garchomp had plowed ahead, unbothered by the melting snow, using Flamethrower on every single thing that was white and not moving, melting his own path through the area; while the Flygon was bringing up the rear, blasting Heat Wave to high heavens and fanning away the melting puddles, letting it all dribble down the road behind them.
The two Typhlosion were actually in the middle of a contest—they were racing against each other, mother and son, to see who could melt more snow! The two liked to spar against each other no matter what opportunity, and this time it was a show of firepower—with Arashi blowing ahead, switching from Flamethrower to Solarbeam—since Sunny Day was in effect on their side of the road, it became relatively simple for him to switch from one attack to the other. Mama Kaji, on the other hand, had resorted to “digging” through the snow with Flame Charge, while melting the snow up ahead with Flamethrower. She knew that she had to somehow “get ahead” of her sons, now that they were out in the field and just going crazy using their firepower to kingdom come. Izumi was walking beside the Flygon, tucking into what looked like trail mix, watching as the drifts were eventually melted down by the blasts of fire coming from all directions—and there was a muddy sort of slop starting to build up due to all the melting snow. “Ick, gross,” she gestured, pointing down to the ground and seeing that the road they were walking on was becoming extremely muddy at this point.

"Thanks" he said to the Magmar as it used Sunny Day again in order to help their pursuits. "QUILAVA!" Inferno let out cheerfully as he ran around, happily hitting all the snow he could with Flamethrower. He could hear his mother and brother using it not too far from there, he wanted to make them proud! And maybe even melt more snow then his brother, but he wasn't getting his hopes up. But he would damn well try!
"CHAR!" Fawkes would let out as he walked past Inferno at a brisk pace, loosing a hot Flamethrower onto a pile of snow, the power and melting ability heightened by Sunny Day. Fawkes felt powerful, that was for sure, and he couldn't help but feel a bit more confident.
"COMBUSKEN!" Vulcan let out as he loosed another powerful Flamethrower onto piles of snow, watching them melt as he tried to keep up with his two companions. With all three of them being 2nd form, he couldn't help but feel a little bit competitive with the game being even.
Josh was right in the middle directing traffic with Lightning, overseeing this project and pointing his Pokemon out to snow piles that needed attention. He looked over to see Wob eating snow out of one of the snowbanks, though as she reached over to grab a clump of oddly colored snow...
Josh's eyes widened and he instantly ran over, picking up the Wynaut before she could eat the yellow snow. "DON'T EAT THAT" he scolded. "Wynaut....?" Wob let out sadly, and Josh pointed over at the yellow snow. "You can eat the white snow, but whatever you do, do NOT eat the yellow snow. It's bad for you. You'll get sick and you'll turn green and your mouth will fall off!"
"Wy? WYNAUT! WYNAUT! WYNAUT!" it let out in alarm in response to Josh's warning. That did the trick. Josh put the Wynaut down and watched as it avoided the yellow snow, preferring to eat the white stuff so her mouth didn't fall off!

The Magmar then charged on, aiming Fire Blast wherever his three companions had missed melting the snow. Agni didn’t really care about accuracy at this point, because all the others that could breathe fire were just melting the white stuff, and he proceeded to do so with much gusto; as blast after blast of hot fire emerged from his maw, the fire burning on the tip of his tail burning all the brighter. Over at the other side of the road where Izumi was busy directing traffic as well, there was a bit of a contest going on now: Draken had taken a break to watch the two Typhlosion having a race to see who could melt more snow; while Mau was busy mopping up the patches of snow that they’d missed with his Heat Wave. As for the two Typhlosion, they were now locked in a race: the two were now letting loose with all the Fire-type techniques that they knew; because they had a bet—whoever would melt more snow would get the chance to mentor Inferno, or at least that’s what they agreed upon.
As of the moment, Arashi was slightly ahead; since he’d switched from the Flamethrower to Solarbeam; and the raw energy that the Solarbeam attack unloaded was apparently wrecking a wide beam of superheated energy wherever he aimed it—because nothing was said about chucking snow on the opponent’s side of the field, right? The male Typhlosion was heard to snicker as another bundled energy beam shot forth from its roaring mane, sending the unmelted snow off to the opposite side where his mother was currently trying to tunnel through the entire thing with Flame Charge; accompanied by Flamethrower. The drifts were slowly but surely melting; there were signs of a path appearing underneath all the muck that was dribbling down into a muddy mess at this point. “Bleh, I hate it when white snow melts into muddy water…” she muttered as she then whistled; and then Garchomp then got back to work, forging ahead with Flamethrower, super-heated by the added effects of the Sunny Day on their side of the road.

WORDS 358 TAGS Josh NOTESmelt everything in the way!
Post by Josh Dragomir on Sept 11, 2014 19:49:46 GMT -5
The piles of snow were melting at a breakneck pace as the two teams worked tirelessly. Before long, most of the snow in the area had melted. "And now to get the snowbank that Wob was eating fro-" Josh trailed off as he looked back. The entire damn pile was gone! Not by heat, not by the sun, but by Wob, who had actually EATEN the entire snowbank himself while everyone was working! Josh's eyes widened. The only things left in the pile were traces of yellow snow, which Wob had missed on purpose due to Josh's warnings about what eating the yellow snow would do to you. Of course, they weren't true, but eating yellow snow was disgusting, something the Wynaut would come to understand in time.
"Hey, Izumi!" Josh called out to the girl as Inferno would walk over, having just finished a large pile. "How much snow is left on your end?" he asked as he scoured the terrain. His team of Pokemon had done pretty well for themselves, having secretly been competing with one another to grab as much as possible. Well, maybe not so secretly. Josh could see how focused they were, and it was amusing to say the least. Was it a pride thing between fire types? Who knows? Even Wob had done it's job, gulping down an entire bank of snow.
"And is eating large amounts of snow healthy?" he called out as well. "My Wynaut ate an entire fucking snowbank while my back was turned, although it did avoid the yellow snow!" he called. Cripes, that one had an appetite!

Izumi was snerking by now, because at the pace that her dragons were working (and two Typhlosion) most of, if not all the snow on her side of the road had been melted down and had now become a brownish sort of muck; it was the kind of muck that made one cringe if one accidentally landed in it! She then heard him call out to her direction, and she merely pointed—even the towering piles of white drift were gone; and there were two Typhlosion in the center of it, trying to catch their breath. “Well, if you call those two fast workers then I don’t know what is,” she uttered, trying her best not to burst out laughing, because the two had completely decimated the area of snow with little assistance from the other two Dragon-types that knew some kind of Fire-type move. She then noticed her Magmar was approaching them along with Inferno, looking quite smug about something.
“Well, well, will you look at that… can you go mop up the patches of yellow snow?” she asked as the Magmar approached her with this smirk on its face. “That’s all that’s left on your side of the road…” she trailed off, squinting into the distance and seeing that they had actually melted majority of the drifts, and the path to Snowbelle was now visible! “Heh, we’re almost there… I could sue go for that hot chocolate right about now…” she added, rubbing her hands together. The two Typhlosion had apparently flopped over each other; and it was an evenly-tied “game” that they had; while the Flygon was flitting around, melting some missed-out patches of the white stuff; while the Garchomp had gone on ahead and was still melting the rest of the remaining piles. “Well… since they said snow is just basically water… it wouldn’t hurt much. Although you’d have to lock him in the bathroom for a while… it’s no wonder he’s not fat yet, I mean look at him…” she trailed off, looking at the absolutely voracious Wynaut. “Maybe he was a Snorlax in a past life or something…” she added with a chuckle.

WORDS 359 TAGS Josh NOTESYou have one crazy Wynaut
Post by Josh Dragomir on Sept 12, 2014 18:42:25 GMT -5
He laughed a bit at her snerk. "That's good" he said as he patted the Wynaut on the head. "It's got quite the appetite though, I have to admit. I've never seen a Pokemon with such an appetite that isn't a Munchlax or a Snorlax. Maybe where I got her from raised it in a different way and it's used to eating? It's a bit... Aloof too" he admitted, scratching his head. "It's already tried to eat the yellow snow, make snow angels, and eat a whole snowbank. It's been a hell of a ride on this side" he said with a smirk.
As he looked around at their handiwork, he chuckled. "It looks like the roads are all clear now" he said. "I guess we should probably get back to what we were doing, huh? We should head back to the city, get some hot cocoa, and enjoy ourselves. I think all our Pokemon need a good rest" he said.
He looked over at his party and smiled. "You all did great" he said, chuckling. "Another job well done"
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Sept 13, 2014 1:22:37 GMT -5
The Magmar then trundled forward and saw that there were several patches of snow that looked yellow—kind of disgusting, if you would ask Agni. But he paid it no heed, and then quickly inhaled, before releasing a super-heated blast of fire and aimed it as best as he could towards the patches of yellowish snow. The Spitfire ‘mon could actually guess what made the whitish snow yellow, but decided not to comment and scare the daylights out of the poor Wynaut if ever he wanted to disclose the secret of the “yellow trickle” to the little baby Pokémon. As one patch of snow melted, he then moved forward as quickly as he could manage, melting all of the remaining patches of yellow that he could see—and once he was finished, he then blew a few smoke rings in celebration as he then made his way back to where his mistress was waiting for him to wrap up. Of course, on Izumi’s side of the road, all the drifts were gone… for now.
“Good job, everyone!” she exclaimed, shooting a knowing smirk at Arashi and mama Kaji; and then walking over to give Mau and Draken a pat on their heads (or whatever else part of their draconic bodies she could reach) before plucking out all of their respective Pokeballs. “Of course, Agni, you did a great job too. Only thing is I can’t pet you… you’d burn my hand,” she added with a chuckle and an approving nod in the Magmar’s direction; before quickly recalling all five of the fire-breathers so that they could rest in their containment units. “Let’s go, that hot chocolate is waiting. Hot chocolate, with pancakes and bacon… dip the pancakes into the hot chocolate for an interesting experience… mmm, now I’m hungry,” she added with a chuckle as she then headed over to his side of the road so that they could get going to the city proper itself and head for one of the cafes there; hopefully to scrounge up a good breakfast meal and get everything else dried off!
