Kouji was still going through the Badlands, having stored the shining little marble into the old coin purse he found in one of his pockets. He knew that he had to get a better “case” for them; but in the meantime he would have to make do with what he had at the moment; because he wanted to try another few spots to see if he would be able to find anything that was useful. After going down and around several hilly expanses, he then came to a stop; before whistling again—he felt the ground rumble; and then saw that his Krookodile had apparently tunneled its way underground and was following him from below! The Gallade then caught up with him; before standing at attention for a few moments, and then relaxing its posture as Kouji then stooped down and then began passing out some PokeTreats for the two. The Gallade took its share in silence, while the Krookodile began to chomp away rather noisily at his share, smacking its jaws together. Once it was done, he then leered in his master’s direction, waiting for more orders.
“Rymi, you can go patrol the area as always. Hie, I give you full permission to start digging. I need to eat another quick bite, and I shall join you shortly while digging,” he said, and the Krookodile then dove back into the ground and then burrowed some distance away; before he saw piles of dirt flying up from the ground. Chuckling to himself as the Gallade wandered off around the perimeter, he then reached into his bag and pulled out an actual sandwich, before stopping to take a few bites out of it. Who knew how long this little break was going to take; he then settled down on the dirt ground, watching his Krookodile diving in and out of the ground, tossing up piles upon piles of dirt as he munched away at his sandwich. Several minutes passed; the sandwich was now gone—and now he was taking a long drink of water. Once he’d drained enough to satisfy his thirst, he then picked up the shovel and then started digging in this new spot as well—who knew what they were going to dig up this time around?

what happened now

The moment Kouji got to digging, he then let the sound of dirt scraping against his shovel lull him into silence—and continued to pull pile after pile of dirt; but it wasn’t until much later when a shadow suddenly snapped him out of his sate that he looked up and saw that his Krookodile was now holding something in his snout—and he then knew that the spot they were in was a bad idea to keep digging. “Uhh, Hie? Feel free to get rid of that as you wish, we’re going to another location. Once you’ve taken care of the Shiny Stone, get over here and let’s get hunting again. Call Rymi while you’re at it too,” he added, quickly dusting off his hands and petting the Desert Croc on his snout, before watching it walk away to apparently get rid of the stone it had dug up. Urgh, time to try searching elsewhere… he thought to himself as he then picked up the backpack and hoisted the shovel in his hand—right then and there, the Krookodile and Gallade approached him.
“Come on, guys, we’re going to another spot to dig. I keep finding evolution stones. We need something good,” he said to the two, and they both nodded, before following him to another spot that he was trying to look for—somewhere that wasn’t too “attached” to stones or anything else of the sort. After traversing through the heat haze that was now hanging upon the air, they finally stumbled on another location that looked undisturbed, and with a few signals, the Krookodile then began diving in and out of the ground again, trying to dig up the entire area; if but to find either a fossil or one of those weird stones that his master had found. The Gallade then proceeded to patrol around the immediate perimeter, and Kouji himself then stooped down for a few moments, wiping the sweat off his forehead—and then blinking. He thought he was seeing things… before realizing that something was amiss—what was that odd sensation he was picking up on again?
Oh, shoot. Not this again…! He thought, one hand immediately going to his forehead as he tried to blot out the pain; before the sudden fluctuation of his psychic power overtook him; and he was seeing things again—this time the scene was in what appeared to be a dark warehouse, but what was going on inside said warehouse? He could only guess—before he heard the roar of something not too far off. Wondering why the hell it was so dark, he then proceeded cautiously forward—tying to follow the noise that he’d heard just a few moments ago. But why was he getting the feeling that he wasn’t going forward, even if he was forcing himself to?—when the crazy sensation ended and he found himself taking a deep breath in order to calm himself down—and then saw that there was an angular shadow hunched over him; his Gallade. “Y-yeah, I think I’m fine. Just… I don’t know what that was…” he muttered to himself as he then shook his head in order to be able to clear out the sensation, before dropping the backpack on his shoulders to the grit and then commencing digging—but his mind was clearly elsewhere; for what was that he saw?! He didn’t understand at all…
Dig Dig Dig . . . What's this?! Congratulations, You've found RELIC BAND ! A bracelet made in a civilization about 3,000 years ago. A maniac will buy it for a high price.

This time it was his Krookodile that had found something; completely unaware of what was going on back at the surface, the Krookodile’s snout then crashed against something made of rock, which made it recoil out of horror and then glowered at the offending object. Apparently, it was another thing made of stone, and he knew that his master was either looking for something like those weird rocks with random body parts stuck in them; or those weird glimmering round rocks. Snorting, he then decided to take it topside anyway; just to confirm if this was what he was looking for. Once he had emerged from the hole, he saw that the Gallade was hovering over someone—and he quickly picked up the pace and saw that it was his master—bent over and blinking so hard. What was going on? He gave the Gallade a questioning stare, but the Gallade could only shrug in his direction as well.
Confused at what was going on, the Krookodile decided to drop the round thing, causing it to roll into Kouji’s field of vision—and that suddenly made him stand up, his head almost hitting his Krookodile’s snout in the process, had Hiekka not backed away in time! “Ouch… urrrgh, I hate it when those things creep into my field of vision…” he muttered, suddenly seeing the round thing that was made of rock. “Oh, crap,” he hissed, seeing that it was another Relic thing. “Well, Hie, nice try… but can you go try again? I… I need to rest for a bit. My head is aching to all hell now,” he muttered, sitting down on the dirt and holding his forehead with his other hand. The Gallade then looked at the Krookodile a certain way; before nodding—and then the Krookodile picked up the thing it had dug up, before tossing it off to one side and then diving once again into the ground, hoping to find something, anything that his master had described to him.

Kouji was still recovering from the effects of the sudden vision when he decided to dig through his things and then took out a wrapped sandwich and a small medicine box—wherever he went, he always traveled with any form and variation of the med kit he always lugged around with him; having learned that being prepared was a good thing, thanks to an encounter with a certain injured Treecko back then… back to the present, he also extracted a flask full of ice-cold water and then ate his way through the sandwich, the Gallade remaining on guard the entire time. Meanwhile, underground… the Krookodile was still meandering through the dirt, shoving grit and grime aside with his stubby hands, when he noticed that there was something glittering not too far ahead from where he was currently tunneling. Realizing that it was something small and round, he then started digging around the area; before finally dislodging a chunk of dirt that held said glittering marble—or whatever it was. Knowing that he’d found something good, he then decided to bring it topside.
Meanwhile, the Gallade had sat down and was now staring at Kouji, apparently trying to communicate with his master; however he was failing because his own Psychic powers were not as strong as they were before; since he was a Gallade and not a Gardevoir. He then stared back at his Gallade; it was as if they could understand each other—but then the “staring contest” was interrupted by a sudden clod of dirt dropping into Kouji’s lap! “Whoa! What the hell?” he yelped out of surprise, before noticing the glittering thing that was lodged in it. the Krookodile then stood over the two, wearing this proud expression on his maw, and then Kouji knew that he’d found something! He then picked up the clod of dirt, and after hacking away at it with his hands (even bashing it on the ground) the shining, shimmering thing then dislodged itself—and he was staring at another sparkling marble! “Ye—YES! Oh my god, YES!” he shouted, quickly scooping up the marble, then standing up and hugging the Krookodile.
Now that they’d found something good, he made sure to keep a tight hold on it as he then retrieved the old coin purse and then dropped it in; before quickly zipping it shut and dropping it down his pocket. Once he had done so, he then picked up the shovel; along with the backpack, and whistled—a sign that the two should keep up with him. “Let’s keep looking, see what we dredge up,” he continued with this grin on his face; as he then walked deeper into the Badlands, the two ‘mons keeping pace with him.
