Now it was time for the very long-overdue second round of the Beach Battle Banzai to begin, and this time Izumi had decided to wear something… a lot more practical: abandoning the long red cloth she’d tied down to hide her legs during the first half of the competition, she was now wearing a sleek, one-piece black-and-red swimsuit—the kind that racers normally wore that extended all the way down to the arms and legs. Heh, at least I don’t have to apply too much sunscreen this time around, she thought to herself as she then slapped on some and rubbed it all over her feet first, then all over her hands. Seeing that she’d already used her Braviary before, she decided to give Sora a break and then banked on using Nixe this time around; and the Empoleon was slightly more prepared this time: they had picked up on a few moves along the way, so that at least if in case they ran into anyone who would dare cut their stats down, they could throw up a sufficient defense to block it!
That, and I’ve also gotten Nixe a little something nice… although this means I have to overhaul everyone sooner or later… she continued musing to herself as she then settled down onto her raft, and could only stare at the haphazard arena. Not only were there logs floating in all manners of random areas, the water appeared to be not too deep, and there was the threat of that Gengar flying up above—but thankfully she went ahead and used someone who could have a slight advantage, even if it was just with the water itself. She could only wonder where her opponent was as she then positioned herself, but she noticed that there was this larger one that was there—the trick was to get Nixe out there as fast as she could manage-because she could only do so much at this point in time. Wondering if the water was really that deep (or if her mind was just playing tricks on her) she then tapped on Nixe’s Safari Ball, topped with the sticker of a trident, and then sent out her companion for this round of the match.
“Empoleon?” she heard her companion ask in confusion, as the Emperor ‘mon appeared in the raft, before raising a fin in order to point out across the water. “I know. Water is your element, but be careful all the same. I... don’t know if you can position yourself out there, just do your best, alright?” she said, giving the Empoleon a nice beak rub, before watching as she then hoisted herself out of the boat and landed with a splash in the water; and then scrambling to try and balance themselves on the nearest log that was floating in a haphazard manner. “Let’s set things up with a nice misty backdrop, shall we,” she began, snapping her fingers as the Empoleon was now precariously balanced on the log that was now rolling and threatening to knock it off balance!
“Empoleon!” she heard her companion cry out, taking a deep breath and then watching as she then puffed out a fog-like essence from her mouth, shrouding herself in mist!
Angel Dalton had not changed costumes.. or swimsuits.. or costumes? She was still wearing the same school-uniform styled swimsuit with the innertube she had been wearing before. This woman changing clothes was making her unsure though.. a usual thing that happened with the young girl. She stood and pondered it for a moment, distracted from the battle.
"What is a costume? Like.. how do you know when something is? What's the difference? Is it just flashy things? Is flashy bad?"
In her small hands was one of her newest friends.. at least she hoped they would become friends. Her heart beat quickly just thinking about it as her mind finally turned to the battle.
"He seems nice, but he didn't want to listen to me before.. but.. I'm sure he will now. It's just for fun right? Not like before.."
The two's meeting aside, she greeted the pretty looking woman in front of her. "Hello ma'am! My name is Angel! I hope we have a lot fun!" she cried out, making sure the volume of her voice was enough to carry across the rafts. She was thankful for the raft and it was more comfortable to stand on then the rocks had been before.. but she almost fell when the raft shook due to the natural ebb and flow of the water. At least she was wearing a swimmy, right? She took a look at the Pokemon she was battling.. it was totally new to her. She had no idea what sort of Pokemon it was or what it did. It did something cool amd misty though.. that was fun.
"Go, B.T.!" she cried out, sending out her Pokemon from it's Poke Ball and letting it make it's own entrance. An Intimidate-filled entrance was the only kind the Gyarados known as Big Terror (by Angel) knew. knew. Although the Mist might have hidden the effects of it, a fact that was quickly noticed by B.T.
Well, quickly enough. The first thought was mostly just confusion. The wierd princess had called him out again when he had been enjoying some pleasant dreams. He assumed it was to protect that soft ball of flesh he was refusing to call his trainer, but.. there was no immediate danger. A simple test of his skills? He as almost insulted that the trainer felt there was any need for testing.
Although.. he supposed if he must. The thought of a battle did seem good after the extra nap time he had been having lately.
"B.T..." Angel said, shivering. The loud roar that it made when it came out always intimidated her personally.. and he always seemed bigger then he remembered. She tried to pool her courage and guess what he might want to use. It would be easier to think she knew what to do if she did a bunch of the stuff he already wanted to do.. at least that was her plan to get him to listen to her anyway.
"Use Dragon Rage?" still.. her nervousness was obvious. It was obvious she was not quite.. handling the Pokemon as well as she could.
Despite that, anyone who was worried about a rampaging Gyarados could at least be momentarily comforted by the fact that the levianthan did use Dragon Rage. A ball of pure.. well.. dragon rage formed in it's mouth and burst forward.. towards the left. Most Pokemon in B.T.'s experience were cowards.. and this pathetic mist hiding made it more obvious. Predict the dodge.
Gyarados was all attack and no support though, and had to shift into his next move. Which happened to be Thrash. However it wasn't quite focused on the Pokemon, but rather all the logs. B.T. wanted nothing to do with them.. they would only serve to annoy him. He quickly tried to push them away from the field of play. The wild movement would make the rafts a little harder to stand on.. something Angel was already not enjoying. Oops.

Thankfully she had decide to set the field with Mist, because her opponent (who just happened to be the cutest little thing ever) sent out a Gyarados! Phew. Thanks to Ryuen I know what to expect, she thought as the Mist protected her side of the battlefield; therefore keeping her Empoleon’s Attack stat safe from the effects of the Gyarados’ Intimidate ability. The only problem now here was that there was a ball of incoming draconic rage—from the left! “Nixe, go right and dodge that thing,” she muttered, and the Empoleon quickly hopped off the log and then dive right into the water; and one of the logs nearby exploded as the Dragon Rage attack hit it. Now that the Empoleon was underwater, Izumi now had a clear view of the field—and saw the towering, rampaging Gyarados who was now apparently throwing a temper tantrum… causing the water on their arena to suddenly start picking up in terms of turbulence! “Oh boy,” she hissed, hanging on to the edge of the raft for dear life, because the water was starting to pick up with waves and all that!
Now that her Empoleon was swimming underneath, she could only guess what Nixe was seeing—most likely it could see the rampage that was going on from underneath; and knew that he couldn’t stay hidden for too long. Now, time to go forth with the next part of the plan… she thought; trying to figure out a way to snipe down the Gyarados (due to its sheer size) when she found an opening! Since the Gyarados appeared to be thrashing around, she knew she could take advantage of the general confusion… by doing this! “Nixe! Be careful of the logs! Go as close as you can and use Drill Peck!” and from underneath the surface, the Empoleon waited for the perfect time for the logs to stop thrashing… and then saw its chance! It then propelled itself up and out of the water; rotating its entire body like a corkscrew in order to be able to give the Drill Peck the power it needed. The Empoleon then rose out of the water; aiming at the Gyarados, spinning its entire body like crazy—but in reality it was just helping along the force of the Drill Peck attack—and who knew what was going to happen next?
Dodges the Dragon rage by going right, therefore landing in the water. Swimming through the arena, looking for an opening; finds one and then propels self out of water with a Drill Peck attack!

B.T. seem to have succeeded and removing the logs from play, making this a water battle to the end, no better way for two 'proud' water Pokemon to contest. Although the Gyarados couldn't swim so deep, it wouldn't matter so much.. it still felt confident in it's ability to take down it's foe given the situation.
Angel on the other hand was busying holding onto her raft for dear life. The young girl looked quite frazzled, and actually nearly fell off.. so close. She thought about how best to command the Gyarados in front of her.. but then remembered the thing about Thrash was it was hard to stop once it got going. Nearly impossible in fact..
"I guess.. I mean.. just keep doing that, although.. I.. I don't want to fall." she squealed a little bit, most of which was ignored by the proud B.T. Usual Angel Dalton noises got filtered into "silly things the princess says".. he was a proud dragon ruled by said pride.
The powerful Gyarados had planned on taking the hit from the get go. He was impressed that foe had managed to tell where it was firing the Dragon Rage, but skillful dodging is still skillful cowardice in his mind. His plan was to take the attack and just use it for fuel for his powerful rage attack, retaliating as it took the blow with it's continued Thrash-ing.. using the fact that Empoleon was moving close range as the perfect opening.
Still.. even a prideful dragon had to admit.. that beak smarted.

Izumi knew that going too close to a thrashing, mad, possibly demented pseudo-dragon was not going to end good—and even if her Drill Peck attempt had made a successful connect, the Empoleon could only flinch and cry out as it, too, was caught in the line of fire! Several of the flying logs that were now being sent airborne due to the Gyarados’ wild thrashing, rampaging outburst had whizzed harmlessly through the air; but a few happened to fly up, clobbering and whacking the Empoleon—even she was not safe as the Gyarados’ rampage also hit her—and she knew that she had to get Nixe out of the line of fire, quickly! “Strafe away from the Gyarados with Ice Beam, try to freeze the water underneath!” she shouted, and the Empoleon, even as it was being battered with flying debris, let out a cry and then gathered a burst of arctic energy, quickly using the Ice Beam to propel itself away from the rampage that was still on-going!
Now that the Empoleon had managed to skid away and had fired the ice Beam attack downwards, towards the surface of the water—she knew he had to at least keep her distance in the meantime. Okay, what next… she thought to herself as she then decided to make things just a bit more difficult—even if she knew that the Gyarados was still rampaging and on the loose, she had to dent it some more, somehow. “Alright, dive into the water and try to flip some of that debris at him! And after that, follow up with another Ice Beam!” and watched as the Empoleon then dove into the water; before finding a few logs it could bat—and with some creative thwacking from Nixe’s part, she used some of the fallen logs that had landed from the rampage flying back at the Gyarados, before quickly following it up with another blast of arctic energy from its mouth!
207 | Izumi Yamamura 45% | Hit self due to confusionl! (15) | Freeze unsuccessful! (52)
This wasn't going to swell. Angel Dalton could only watch as the ramage her Pokemon created seemed to be causing him to become rattled, or perhaps seeing things. Although originally his Thrashing was full of purpose and carried the aura of purpose, now it was just flailing about. As if he was trying to hit a ghost, the adrenaline pumping in his head and causing him to react before he really thought.
This confusion caused him to hurt himself, slamming himself against the logs that were coming and the Ice Beam. The Ice Beam hit him right in the face too.. nothing was going very well. Angel stammered as she tried to imagine what to do next.. although they had seemed on even footing at first with the damage the confusion was causing Gyarados to quickly lose any sense of advantage it might have once had..
"You can do it B.T.!"
The words of inspritation had actually reached the bemethos ears. <Yes princess, that's what I'm doing! Bravely taking the assault for you! Can't you see my foe is simply retreating? He has no honor, and no hope!>.. tough words given the situation really. Angel couldn't hear him.. but she might have argued if she could.

Now that Nixe had successfully strafed away from the rampaging Gyarados—and from the looks of things, the logs had actually hit the rampaging Gyarados—before being swatted away and she could only blink as the behemoth of a creature took the ice Beam full in the face; causing it to roar wildly as it was then sent backwards; causing the water they were currently floating in to go berserk! “Holy crap, that raging thing is bad…” she muttered to herself; and she knew that she was running out of time, because the Mist could only do so much. She then tried to ride out the crazy waves that the Gyarados was causing, hanging on to the edge of the water—should she risk standing up? Or let Nixe do her thing? The answer came in a sudden burst of clarity—now that the Gyarados looked like it was confused—and there were some floating chunks of ice in the water—she could capitalize on it.
“Nixe! Try to lower its Attack power with Growl; and then strafe in close for another Drill Peck—but don’t aim high; just aim towards what you can hit from your vantage point!” she shouted over the water; and her Empoleon then surfaced, after hiding underneath the surface for some time. The Emperor ‘mon then pointed one wing forward, before inhaling and then releasing a loud, echoing Growl around the entire area—and then quickly cut off towards the left; rotating its body as it then angled for a lower Drill Peck; this time it was aiming for what she could normally reach! Going up high was a crazy idea; but at least I was able to get one attack in—and then the madness continues, she thought to herself as she then watched the Emperor ‘mon corkscrew-spinning its way forward, churning up the waves in order to be able to give it some cover. At the very last second, Nixe dived—and then attempted to attack the Gyarados from underneath!
Wondering if Nixe could hear her underwater, she then began whistling, waiting for the Emperor ‘mon to surface—and then decided to take a chance! “Nixe! If you can hear me… freeze the Gyarados with Ice Beam!” and the words hung on the air for a moment, before she saw something bubbling near where the Gyarados was now apparently confused—and then another beam of arctic energy then shot up towards the behemoth’s confused maw!
{Wild Water Rampage!}Empoleon out on the battlefield!
After placing some distance, Empoleon lets loose with a Growl status change; before quickly coming in up-close for a Drill Peck attack! At the last second, Empy goes underwater and decides to aim there instead; before poking its head out from the water and then aiming a surprise Ice Beam at the confused Gyarados!
It was appropriate. The confusion had been devastating on the Gyarados. Thrash really might not have been the best idea.. was the first thing that came to mind. A little too late for that. She watched her Pokemon start to regain some of it's nerves, but not before taking a another barrage of attacks.
It.. was kind of a big target and this was still a new Pokemon. Still.. she hadn't felt confident in bringing Wonder Bird here. Had she made another mistake then too?
All these thoughts were had while barely gripping onto the raft at this point, half of her body in the water. She was very glad this contest was happening in swimsuits.
The contest.. thoughts of it and the excitement she had felt when she entered it quickly started poofing in her mind at further realization at what this loss was going to mean. it was about to be all over for her. Tears quickly formed in her eyes, not out of anger at the Empoloeon or his trainer or even B.T. but just disappointed and frustration aimed at herself. Was she just no good at this?
While she rocked back and forth the waves, B.T. was dealing with the aftermath from the attacks. Both had hit him, along with a shaking feeling in his gut he didn't want to accept was a bit of fear. He.. could feel that one more hit and that would be it. Still, there was something in him.. he took a moment to look at his trainer as he picked himself up. What was she upset for?
<Get ahold of yourself! Focus on the enemy!>
Honestly his chances weren't even that high at doing another bit of damage. Thankfully the Pokemon couldn't swim very deep, Gyarados tried to predict it's next move. It was going to continue to attack in the way it did.. he would aim two Dragon Rage attacks low in hopes of catching him when he attempted to attack in the same spot.. Even if both of them hit though.. dealing with the next attacks would be an issue. Still..
Maybe he could make it close. Both for his pride and for his little sniveling.. thing.

Izumi was definitely not expecting that the Gyarados would take the brunt of the attacks—she had a suspicion that the random Thrashing around actually had a purpose; she’d have to check back with her “master” later after this battle. Now that it looked like it was on the verge of collapsing, she was about to move in and seal the deal when said Gyarados quickly dipped low and released two very familiar-looking attacks! “Ah, hell no, get out of the way as fast as you can, Nixe!” she said, leaning so far forward from within her raft’s boundaries, she was absolutely sure she was going to tip the thing over if she pitched too far! The Empoleon, who was still underwater, was caught off-guard by the first Dragon Rage attack; but quickly propelled itself through the waves, narrowly dodging the second ball of draconic energy as it shot through the water like a heat-seeking missile, finally managing to hit one of the few logs that were left over on Izumi’s side of the battlefield.
She then let out a shriek of surprise as the log that had exploded was so close to where she was; she then shielded herself with her right hand—and then saw that Nixe had maneuvered itself a safe distance away from the Gyarados. She knew that this was the last turn Mist would protect her Empoleon’s stats, so she decided to go all-out on this one. “Nixe! Ice Beam first, and then aim a Drill Peck right at the Gyarados! If the Drill Peck doesn’t hit, get out of there as soon as you can!” she shouted, pointing forward—and the Empoleon then jumped right out of the water, charging up a ball of arctic energy from its open maw, and then releasing the frozen ray of energy, before quickly strafing off to another side and then twisting its body like a drill, throwing all it could into the Drill Peck attack it was aiming right at the still confused-looking (or was it) Gyarados, who was still quite bewildered at what was going on!
Gets smacked righ in the face with the first Dragon Rage attack; swims out of the way and narrowly avoids the second one. Once Empy is a safe distance away, it then charges up and unleashes an Ice Beam attack; before going off to the left and attempting a surprise Drill Peck attack!
Wam. Bam. Angel Dalton could only watch as B.T. managed to get another strong hit on the Empoleon. For a moment she was allowed a moment to dream of a beautiful comeback. In her 'mighty' B.T.'s defense it had enough adrenaline to narrowly dodge the Ice Beam attack despite it's rather intimidating size, but not enough to dodge the Drill Peck. B.T. had known it only had one shot left, really. It had been counting on Dragon Rage seeing it through, but it was hit and it's body fell backwards.. he was done.
For a moment it really sunk in. She had been thinking it before but now it was time to face it. Her time in the tournament was done. She felt her hand twitch a little as frustration started to build in her little head. "Noooo.." her cry of sadness could easily be thought of as a whine, it had that aura of child's tantrum.. something she probably should have outgrown already. "No fair.."
She felt her body shake.. she was trying to remain cool and not let this get her down so much, but she couldn't help but feel all the disappointment just beat her down. Although she was a sweetie most of the time, it was still true she wasn't used to things not going her way. She didn't really know how to deal with it. She wanted to win once.. it didn't seem fair that she couldn't even win once. She guessed everyone else had been training a whole lot longer.. but wouldn't they always be training so much longer then her? Could she ever catch up?
Her Gyarados returned to it's Poke Ball. Angel Dalton thought about what was next. Ice cream.. was the first thing that stuck in her mind. She really wanted some ice cream. Tantrum mode still activated, the young girl plopped on the raft and waited for the round to be over so she could be done with this stupid tournament already.
