It had indeed been a while for Izumi since she had gone to the Safari Zone, and even her contact hadn’t had much luck with finding a Squirtle, something she wanted to cross off her wish list so bad. She also secretly wanted a Charmander, but hopefully her contact would have a bit more luck with it, considering that he was waiting for some information on someone who had managed to find a female one. Now there was an actual problem: would she be able to find a Squirtle and then eventually get her own dream of having a fearsome turtle under her wing? She then looked around and then saw that it was very near the end of the July hunting season, so she quickly scrambled to get past the security check and then immediately decided to go start searching for the little elusive turtle that she had been wanting so far. It was going to take a while, but she knew that eventually her patience would pay off—now the problem here was that, would she be able to find the thing on her first attempt? Or would I have to bail ot the “bug spray” and hope that my last encounter won’t be something I already have? She thought with a cringe as she then immediately made headway towards Zone Number Four, which was also known as the Watering Hole—or the extended Grasslands as well. “Somehow, this may or may not be a good idea, cutting it so close to the end of the month…” she muttered to herself as she then continued towards the area, always being on the lookout for something interesting—or intriguing that would catch her attention. Luckily, she had the common sense to switch out her team for this instance, but was wondering if it would be such a good idea to have no stable anchors at all in play… she knew that her Electabuzz needed some loving, as well as some of the others, like her Turtwig and that cute little Noibat she’d just received. “Well, let’s see where this takes us,” she muttered to herself, going off into the unknown… | | | | | WORDS 361 TAGS welp NOTES Zone 4

She wasn’t going to be surprised if she ran into a roadblock—she was starting to feel quite tense again, what with the prickling sensation on the back of her neck. She could only shake her head why as to she was feeling that odd, when she heard the undergrowth shudder and shake, causing her to turn around. Truly, going into blind territory is… a bad idea… she thought to herself as she then did a silent half-turn on her heel, and then followed the source of the noise—it was definitely getting much louder the more she gave it chase. Looks like my hunt would be cut short… she thought with some anticipation as she then proceeded to sneak up onto the source of the noise—and then came short of a clearing, only to see that there was…a pink blob in it. Oh boy, this one again? But then again someone’s looking for this sucker so, might as well humor them and get it. well, it’s not going to be a waste of a trip anyway… she continued musing as she then stepped forward, and then came face-to-face with the second Ditto that she’d encountered so far. “Right,” she said, staring at the blob that was looking at her with some curiosity; before it then decided to just… look at her. “Well, what are you waiting fo—oh, right, here goes,” she muttered, quickly sending out the cute little Noibat, which she had yet to name; but knew that it had Tailwind as one of its moves. The moment said Noibat appeared on the battlefield, the Ditto then wasted no time in copying its opponent’s looks, right down to the very last detail. “Oh crap, you’ve got to be joking—“ she began, before realizing that the Noibat was part-Flying. Another tactic I can turn to my advantage, she thought as she then whistled once, before pointing ahead, “Use your Tailwind and crank up the speed, we need all the boost we can get!” and with a happy little chirping noise, her Noibat then began flapping its wings with all its might! The wind behind them suddenly blew gale-force, but it wasn’t the kind to knock her down off-balance; instead it was the kind that provided a speed boost for the ‘mons in her party. Alright, step one done. Now for Step two… she thought as she then quickly plucked out a particular one, and then sent out Fulmine, her Electabuzz. I know this strategy worked once before, I don’t know if it’ll work again, because Gloop was kind of slow upstairs and therefore, he fell for it. I don’t know about this one though… she thought with some apprehension as her Electabuzz then made an appearance, before punching its two fists together—it really was aching for some battle at this point. With the boosted Team Speed, she knew that there was no time to waste—at this point the Ditto was still in its “Noibat” appearance; but she kept her own Noibat around in order to keep it distracted—“Ful, unleash an Electro Ball on that one! Not the one beside me, the other one!” she said with emphasis, pointing forward at the Noibat/Ditto that was now charging forward; whatever was it doing with its attacks?! She knew that her own Noibat knew Taiwind, but the other attacks were still a mystery… for now. “Ele! Electabuzz!” she heard Fulmine roar, before quickly holding its hands out in front of its chest; as if conjuring something; which then turned out to be a sphere of crackling electricity. At the very last second, her Noibat flew up onto her shoulder and decided to perch there, as the Electabuzz then hurled the crackling orb towards the Noibat/Ditto! It had little time to react, but upon impact of the powered-up Electro Ball (due to the speed boost that Tailwind provided, albeit temporarily) the Ditto had then attempted to transform into the Electabuzz; but it was now stuck between two forms; it resembled a purple Electabuzz with Noibat eras and wings—and she knew that this was her chance! “Heh, it can’t keep up its form! Alright, Fulmine! Lay into it with everything you’ve got! Let’s start off with a Thunderbolt, then close the distance with a Quick Attack!” she continued with this look of glee on her face; then the Electabuzz crackled its arms together, before howling and raising its arms to the sky—where the clouds suddenly darkened over the battlefield. Before the Noibat/Electa-Ditto could react, a bolt of lightning then crashed down, barely missing it by inches! It then looked around in confusion and then saw that the Electabuzz had disappeared; so it then took on the next thing it could Transform into—the Noibat perched on her shoulder. It wasn’t prepared to see the Electabuzz emerge from behind though, and it was then knocked off to one side, due to the force of the Quick Attack! “Ful, quickly! Use Thunder Wave to trap it in its ‘Noibat’ form!” and the Electabuzz obliged, before tossing a jolt of electricity headed towards the Noibay/Ditto’s direction, and its flight then became forced, before crashing to the ground altogether, unable to get up. “Heh, alright, end it with another Thunderbolt—you know what, make it two Thunderbolts, that thing needs to be taught a lesson!” The Electabuzz then nodded, before pointing its hands towards the sky once more; the clouds were already darkened anyway, so all it took was a matter of seconds for the first Thunderbolt to come crashing down, scoring a direct hit on the now-Ditto as it tried to get up and attempted another Transform change—only to meet the next Thunderbolt that came down from the sky a few moments later. “Well, that’s that… can you check if it’s still alive?” she asked Fulmine, to which it grunted, and then strode forward… before poking the flopped-over puddle of pink goo. It then turned to face Izumi before nodding, and she then plucked the Safari Ball she’d been juggling for some time and then chucked it towards the inert Ditto, hoping that it would stay inside the Safari Ball! | | | | | WORDS 1,031 TAGS the D NOTES They're not too bright, are they.

Thankfully, zapping the Ditto with Thunderbolts had driven it into a shell-shocked state, and she watched apprehensively as the thing then began shuddering—it felt like the longest in forever; but when she heard the Safari Ball go off with a click, she then breathed a sigh of relief! “Well, here goes nothing,” she continued, quickly recalling the Noibat and the Electabuzz back into their respective Pokeballs, before snatching up the safari Ball and then tossing it skyward—only to have it disappear halfway down from the heavens. “Well, at least I got another source of income, time to sell that thing off and make a quick return…” she trailed off, shaking her fist at the Watering Hole—there really never was a chance for her to get that far in the first place. Besides, I think I can cram in another trip right after I make the sale… she thought as she then made a hasty retreat down and out of the Zone she’d entered. The people manning the gates were surprised to see her upon exit; because normally she’d fly away on the back of her Braviary—but her current lineup was something else, because she needed to test out the waters for something; as well as getting the Pokemon that she currently had evolved and ready to train for the “big leagues”; whenever or wherever they were going to happen. Glad I’m done with his task… now when are we going to meet up in Kalos so that we can continue with the next phase of training… she thought to herself as she then went through her pockets and then realized she had to retrieve some of the other items—namely the next Safari Tag she was going to use—she had from her “safety lock box” at the nearest Pokémon Center! | | | | | WORDS 305 TAGS nup NOTES big money come to momma
