Izumi knew that she had to rotate around a few of her ‘mons, just to see how they would work together. Seeing as she really could not just rely exclusively on the six “mains” she’d built up, she decided to go on a journey around Kalos and try to train a team that represented her peeving rage with a certain Gym she’d challenged back in her homeland: a team that dealt with weather hazards. Knowing that it was proving to be futile unless she herself tried a hand at raising a team that matched her opponents, she decided to fly off to Ambrette Town and swapped out most of her “main team”, bringing some of the others that fit a specific type out from dead storage and replacing most of her team. Wondering if going into battle with very inexperienced ‘mons was such a good idea, she knew that she had to turn tail and run before things got nasty, and so decided to train just outside the city limits—so that she could run to the Pokémon center if necessary.
“Alright, time to get the new regimen started…” she muttered to herself, looking around at the surroundings and trying to brace herself for the unexpected—she knew that there were going to be some contests done much later in the summer and she would need to brush up on her “survival” skills in the wild. “Let’s do this…” she muttered to herself, flexing her fingers and preparing herself for whatever nasty, unexpected surprise the little world of Kalos would toss in her direction. Going mono-type training would be crazy but hey, I need the practice so I better get the bloody hell started… she thought to herself as she trained her ears for any unexpected and unnatural noises that would sneak up on her!

It didn’t take too long for Izumi to run into the first “victim” of this training run—it was a Rhyhorn; and she knew that they were a lot of trouble. Having the slight advantage of having Rock as part of its Dual-typing, it was also at a disadvantage because it was weak to Ground, something her current “team” had going for at the moment. Now… time to understand why they favor weather conditions… she thought to herself as she then plucked out a Pokeball and sent out its occupant—before watching it turn into the Drilbur she’d kept in cold storage for a very long time, nicknamed Carreau. There was something… interesting about this particular Drilbur—and that was the fact that it could not be bred; at the request of the Breeder she’d picked up the Egg from back then, when she was just starting out on collecting her army members. Now the time came for them to actually start evolving and learning about the world. “Hello Carrie. I know this is the first time you’ve been out in the world… so… let’s get the show started with a Drill Run attack, and make it fast! Little ugly over there is coming in this way!” she said, catching sight of the incoming, charging Rhyhorn that had its head bent low, ready to smack the living daylights out of it with a Fury Attack concentrated on its horns!
“Dodge!” she shouted as the Drilbur suddenly began spinning its own body around in a corkscrew fashion, meeting the incoming Rhyhorn in a head-on charge; she knew that since Drilburs were Ground-type; therefore she had to be careful all the same. She could hear the Drilbur cry out of surprise as the first attack connected; but it continued to charge into the Rhyhorn, focusing the point of its attack into its drill-like arms; causing a loud crashing sound to erupt from the point of impact. The Rhyhorn then backed away, caught off-guard by the sudden Drill Run, and then it made another charging motion, this time making its own body go in the same spinning motion that Carreau had taken earlier! “Oh crap. Carrie, Earthquake!” she shouted, and the Drilbur quickly complied, letting its drill-like appendages spin wildly before slamming them down as powerfully as it could manage into the ground between itself and the oncoming charging “bull”; and the Rhyhorn was caught off-guard as the ground began to shake and quake. “Well, oops,” she said, backing away slightly as she felt the tremors and the Rhyhorn yelped again out of shock; before coming to a sudden and unwelcome halt.
“Uh-oh, that’s not good…” she muttered to herself as the bulky Rhyhorn came in charging again, this time with full intent to slam its entire body weight centered on its claws on the offending Drilbur! “Crap. Dodge!” she shouted as the incoming dual-type rhinoceros came charging in for a Chip Away attack! The Drilbur heard the command a bit too late and it got sideswiped by the rampaging rhino, and it then proceeded to crash into an out crag not too far from where they stood. Well, they’re supposed to be naturally crazy anyway… she thought to herself as she looked at Carreau, dazed but still hanging on and having a lot of fight left in it. “Nice, though we need to work on your dodging skills…” she noted to herself, whistling for it to follow her as they continued looking for opponents to train against.

Post by Izumi Yamamura on Jul 6, 2014 6:40:31 GMT -5
The area was quiet, at first. She thought that nothing would come of her letting the Rhyhorn crash into the out crag that it had charged into, and so continued along on her way, the Drilbur ambling along beside her. She was wondering what she would be able to turn up this time when she thought she felt the ground tremble at first. Looking down at her Drilbur, she thought it had launched an attack without her saying so; but saw that it was just sniffing the ground; and then shook off the tremor she’d felt as something that had come from her imagination. A few steps forward, however… the tremor grew much stronger. “Is… is it just me or is there something slithering around underneath me…” she muttered to herself as she continued to walk forward—and then that’s when it happened. The rumbling noise she heard not too far away grew louder… until it came to a point that the rumbling was so close, the ground around them was starting to tremble uncontrollably! “Holy… OH CRAP!” she shrieked, quickly diving out of the way and hugging her Drilbur close as something…huge suddenly erupted from the ground not too far in front of her.
The first erupting noise was followed by several more; and she then heard several loud thudding noises and saw a lot of dust coming their way! Izumi decided to shield her eyes with her arm as she used her ears in order to listen to the noise around them; and she then squinted through the grit in order to try and see just what the hell was going on. What she saw once the dust had cleared—was something she’d wished she’d never seen; for there were five living, sentient snakes that were seemingly made of rock; flanked by no less than four shining, metallic-coated snakes that had even bigger protrusions sticking out at odd intervals spread across their bodies! “Uh-oh…” was all she had time to shout as all nine snake-like beings (that she then recognized as Onix as well as their evolutionary line Steelix) began to fling variations of Rock Throw and Smack Down her way! “Holy CRAP!” she shrieked as she saw the incoming projectiles; she then cut a mad dash around the area before ducking behind another out crag for cover as the projectiles crashed to a stop near her; some of them went whizzing above their heads and some even hit the hiding place they’d chose to duck behind in order to get some cover!
“Drats, what set them off?!” she said to herself, still hugging her Drilbur as the last of the rocks clattered to the ground near them. “This is not going to be fair, one on nine. Might as well even the odds!” she said, taking the chance in the lull of “rock fire” to duck out of her hiding place and then plucked three more Pokeballs, sending out all of their occupants in consecutive flashes of red light. The first flash turned into her trusty Marshtomp, who clapped its fins but stepped back a few paces due to the impressive sight; while the second and third beams transformed into the familiar visage of Ivan, her Larvitar—the last one turned into something that flailed for a few seconds before falling on its head; and she could only sigh as she helped Mausika, her Trapinch back up on its stubby legs. All four assembled ‘mons could only stare at the sight of the Onix and Steelix; before one of the four Steelix let out a mighty roar—and the Onix followed, sending even more Rock Throw and Smack Down attacks headed towards the motley band of four! “Oh crap! All four of you! DODGE!” she shouted, and they all wasted no time and got moving—the Drilbur dived out of the way and watched as a few rocks whistled overhead and clattered near it; while the Marshtomp dove towards the Trapinch and grabbed it as another barrage of rocks went screaming their direction, while Ivan had the strangest reaction of them all; one of the rocks that had fallen near it was being rolled away by the Larvitar—and then he began eating it!
Geez, even now Ivan decides to eat rocks?! Well he’s nuts… she thought to herself as she sighed—before realizing that attempting to use Sandstorm was useless; since they were also one of the three types that could absorb the damage from Sandstorm without even batting an eye! Great, this is going to be a long battle… she thought once more as she remembered that these ‘mons she was looking at had some of the highest natural Defense stats that existed; so wearing them down would take some time. Luckily, though, she had two ‘mons out on the field that could use Earthquake to great efficiency; however that would require her ducking behind something steady since the Earthquake attack was powerful! Right at that moment, one of the Onix then rushed forward, followed by two more; and these three charging snakes were flinging rocks everywhere—one of them had gone with a Rock Slide attack over the battlefield; while the one right behind it unleashed a very loud Screech that caused her to clap her hands over her ears for a few moments! She knew that it had an adverse effect on the four that were out on the field though; and the very last Onix trailing with the other two surprisingly unleashed a Dragon Breath attack; headed towards the team that was gathering in order to stand up against the incoming snake horde! “Shoot,” she hissed as the Rock Slide rolled down harmlessly; but combined with the Dragon Breath from the other one, they became deadly projectiles!
“Ivan, Carrie! Get your butts together and use Earthquake! Yes, you two! At the same time! Use your Earthquake attack twice! Let’s get the show on the road! Mau, stomp down with Bulldoze; do it twice as well! Yuya, provide covering fire with your Water Gun!”
She heard the shouts of approval coming from the four; and the Drilbur then dashed over to where the Larvitar was standing, waiting for the Trapinch to finish stomping down twce; and the Trapinch stood head-on facing the incoming Onix trio before raising its stubby legs up as high as it could manage and then slamming first its left foot, then its right foot on the ground! The ground between the incoming Onix triad and the team then shook and trembled; however the ground where its team mates stood trembled as well; however most of the damage was directed over at the incoming Onix triad that were still intent on flinging rocks via Rock Throw, and then turning them into deadly obstacles by way of Dragon Breath! Once the two were slowed down due to the sudden attacks; the Drilbur raised its appendages and let them spin wildly before slamming them down; right at the same time her Larvitar turned around and cheeked the Onix—but apparently it had wagged its formidable tail and then slammed it down a few seconds after the Drilbur had!
At first, the ground was silent—then two powerful, rippling Earthquake attacks shook through the area; catching the three Onix off-guard and making them bump into each other out of surprise! The incoming Dragon Breath-coated projectiles were diverted off to one side; and crashed and clattered harmlessly not too far away. As the three Onix the prepared to launch a unified Slam attack towards them, the Marshtomp took a deep breath and then began firing off its Water Gun attack in their direction! Dang it, Yuya can’t keep firing off water forever! I should’ve gotten something for him…her back then! Something like Surf… or a wide-area Water-type move! She thought with a look of anger on her face as she then watched the three combine their bodies and charged as one slithering unit! “Whoa. Carrie, Ivan! Earthquake dual-smack again! Mau, Yuya, unleash a combined Mud Slap attack! Do it twice, send out as many mud obstacles as you can!”
The Drilbur let its appendages spin again, while waiting for its partner to flash its tail—and then the two slammed their appendages down as one; letting their Earthquake attacks mesh together and reverberate through the localized area; knocking the three charging Onix together, before the second wave of Earthquake launched by the two then actually ripped a crack in the ground; sending the three Onix tumbling down into it not too long afterward! Once the sudden fracture in the ground appeared, the Marshtomp and the Trapinch then picked up the pace and used the disturbed ground in order to fire off as much mud-based projectiles that they could, aiming it down the hole and hitting the first Onix right between the eyes as it tried to climb out by crawling atop its brethren. Knowing that the Earthquake attack was that powerful, she then decided to use it again—but only this time there were two more Onix charging, this time being led by a Steelix!
“Snap!” Earthquake again! Full power, you two!” she shouted towards the two Pokemon’s way; and they complied, this time combining their forces into a single powerful Earthquake attack that actually knocked Izumi off her feet—and had seemingly hit something that was apparently tunneling through the ground as well—for the three Onix that fell into the small fissure caused by the Earthquake then decided to Dig their way out in an attempt to actually smack the living daylights out of the team that was gathered! She then felt the ground rumble, tumble and quake—because the Earthquake was doing its job; knocking the two Onix and one Steelix off to one side, making them tumble over each other out of the confusion. However, they were not yet in the clear—for all three Onix had managed to survive the Earthquake (albeit barely) and were now raising heir bodies to aim for a Slam attack at close range on the unguarded fighters!
“Yuya! Water Gun them as fast as you can, quickly! Mau, Bulldoze them now, do it twice! Carrie, Hone Claws then follow up with a Metal Claw attack; and Ivan, Dark Pulse at close range; then unleash a Rock Slide!” she shouted, managing to get not just all the orders out, but also their respective nicknames! In response, the Marshtomp then abandoned the small fissure and then quickly took a deep breath before releasing blast after blast of its Water Gun attack, aiming for the Onix’s bodies if at all possible; while the surprised Trapinch reared up as best as it could before bringing down its left and right front legs in succession, causing a miniature, weaker, localized version of Earthquake to rip through the area (but with the flinging of stones around) while the Drilbur sprang into action—it then sharpened its claws against a fallen rock before smacking one of the dangerously close Onix with a hardened, toughened up version of Metal Claw (thanks to the Attack stat increase) and to round it all off; one of the other Onix that was threatening to eat Ivan suddenly got blasted away due to the dark energy that it had blasted from its gaping mouth; before all three Onixes were brought together, knocked back and herded by their respective attacks; and the final salvo was dealt by Ivan, raising its stubby limbs to the heavens; and watching as a portal opened and rocks of all shape and sizes began raining down on the bewildered Onix!
Yuya then helped out with the Rock Slide by blasting as much water as it could from its mouth as well; and the first three Onix were now successfully dealt with—but they noticed too late that the second “party” that comprised of the other two Onix and the leading Steelix had now closed the gap—they had found a way around the miniature fissure an were now bearing down on the team; releasing a triple-showcase of Dragon Breath aimed at all four of them at once! “Mother of all… DUCK, DODGE, DO WHATEVER YOU CAN, GET THE HELL OUT OF THEIR WAY!!!” she shouted at the top of her voice, feeling the ripple of draconic energy even from afar; and the Marshtomp quickly dove and snatched the lumbering Trapinch out of the way; while the Larvitar and the Drilbur scattered from the point of impact; and the three combined Dragon Breath attacks exploded upon impact with the ground; sending dust and rubble flying everywhere. “Gah!” she shrieked as the dust swirled around her; and as it cleared almost three minutes later; there was a huge scorch mark where the ‘mons stood—and she feared for the worst.
However, there were one, two, three, four strangled cries coming from the surroundings; and she was surprised to see the entire team of four gathering behind her; looking worn-out—and they hadn’t even started taking out the Steelix! At the sight of this, the Steelix then gave an ungodly roar; before it led the foray, making its entire body spin—and it then seemingly turned into a drill; and she could only guess if this was Drill Run or something similar. The next few seconds made it clear, however, as the Drilbur cut across Izumi and then raised its appendages, staring it down defiantly! “Dril, DRILBUR!” she heard it screech, making her snap back to the present and dive out of the way as the Gyro Ball attack pummeled the Drilbur, sending it flying halfway across the field! “CARRIE!” she screamed, watching as the Drilbur fly through the air and disappear behind one of the rocks. “Oh, shit,” she hissed; seeing that one of her strongest fighters had been knocked out of the fight (at least for now); so she decided to pluck the other remaining Pokeball and sent out Arion, her not-so-creatively nicknamed Aron, out on the battlefield.
“Well, Arion, time to fill in Carrie’s shoes. Let’s start off with two Iron Defense changes, please, and then please aim your Iron Head towards that incoming Onix,” she managed to say through gritted teeth as one of the two Onix had managed to plow forward and was now tossing another Rock Throw aimed at the entire assembled team! Her mind then kicked into gear; before letting loose with the next orders; “Ivan, Dark Pulse again and knock that incoming Onix down; Yuya; Water Gun supporting fire as much as you can! Mau, Bulldoze two in a row! GO!” she shouted, diving out of the way of the incoming rocks as all hell broke loose—the Aron tightened its focus not just once but twice; making its Defense rise to almost four times it original amount; before lowering its head and then meeting one of the Onix in a head-on collision; this Onix was foolish enough to try a Tackle attack—and instead met a very powerful Steel-type hitting its own head; knocking it into a daze.
At that exact same moment, the Larvitar let loose with another blast of foul energy from its gaping maw; when it was suddenly joined by quick, sudden bursts of water coming from the Marshtomp that was running around and providing covering fire for the others who were preparing their attacks! The Trapinch then reared up again and had brought down its left foot in order to make the Bulldoze attack a reality, jarring the two Onix and one Steelix; when its second attempt was cut off by a sudden, jarring Tackle attack that came from the Steelix’s direction! Letting out a cry of surprise, it then flopped over, falling over the weight of its thick head! The Marshtomp saw that it had been knocked over and rushed to help it topside; giving it a few quick pushes before rejoining the fray with another torrential outburst of Water Gun from its open mouth. Seeing that the next battering ram of attacks was over, she then continued with another batch of attacks; watching as one of the Onix got up rather drunkenly, while the other one was almost ready to flop over. The Steelix was still standing tall, but was beginning to look quite battered.
“Damn it, this is hell…” she hissed to herself, before continuing on with the next set of orders—“Ivan! Earthquake! That’s right, you heard me, use it as much as you want, just bring them down! Arion, continue with your Iron Head assaults! Just keep ramming into the Onix! Mau, go use your Faint Attack on the incoming Onixes as… as best as you can manage! Yuya! Fall back, look for Carrie and bring him back here!” she ended, knowing that she was putting herself at risk by having her only Water-type away from the field, but these three were not going to go down, not even if they were herded into a corner! The Marshtomp nodded and then skidded off in the direction where it had seen the Drilbur fly; and she watched as another battering ram of attacks were unleashed from the small but terrible “minions” that she had out in play at the moment. Wave after wave of successive Earthquake attacks tore across the field courtesy of the Larvitar; while the Trapinch suddenly disappeared; before meeting the incoming Onix with a sudden “head butt” (this was its special way of executing Faint Attack, since its limbs were just way too short to do so) and then vanished again—only to be replaced by an incoming Arion that had its head lowered and steel crashed against rock once again!
After the dust had settled, one of the two remaining Onixes had finally fallen over, too tired to take a beating any longer; while the last standing Onix was still fighting—but not for long; as another Earthquake shook the area; and Ivan was trying its best in order to keep the Steelix away from them. At that point in time, the Steelix that had charged ahead roared; summoning its cohorts to join the battle; and for the very first time, Izumi felt a shiver of fear run down her spine—was she legitimately going to get her ass kicked in this venture? Her hands hovered nervously over the last unballed ‘mon she had when she heard a roar from somewhere behind her—and a shadow shot past her; spinning in mid-air like a mad corkscrew before toppling the last Onix down and off its position! Wondering just what had caused it, the Steelix’s roaring was cut off by a torrent of water—the Marshtomp had returned and had found the shaken Drilbur, still able to fight! As it had turned out, the Drilbur had the wind knocked out of it; causing it to pass out for a while and had only woken up once the Marshtomp had come looking. “Yes. HELL YES!” she shouted, seeing her battle-worn yet steady Drilbur; standing and raring to go.
As one, the four Steeix then rushed towards the five assembled ‘mons that were out on the field, intent on ripping them apart from limb to limb—but now that the Drilbur was back, she was more than ready. “Carrie; Ivan; Yuya; Mau; Arion; you know what to do. Keep going, keep going, stall them, STALL THEM!Don’t stop until they’re all down and out! Fight for our survival!” she shouted as the two Earthquake-wielding ‘mons then joined together before slamming their respective appendages onto the ground; causing the resulting Earthquake attack to reverberate through the area; while the Arion held its ground; tightening its defense and standing down at the first incoming Steelix that had decided to take it out with a Dragon Breath. In retaliation, it then launched its entire body right at the Steelix—even if it didn’t have any effect at all, it served as the paving way for the first Steelix to go down.
With the continuous Earthquake ripping through the area courtesy of the Drilbur and the Larvitar; along with the combined surprise Bulldoze coming from the Trapinch and the torrent of water pouring from the Marshtomp’s mouth, slowly but surely, the Steelixes began to fold. One by one, they tried to fight back buy flinging even more rocks; but thanks to Yuya’s fast thinking, most of the rocks were shot down with Water Gun attacks as Earthquake after Earthquake ripped through the area; with the occasional Bulldoze and Faint Attack thrown in courtesy of the scaredy-cat Trapinch; and the stalwart Aron that had still rammed its own Iron Head against the Steelix, even if it knew that it wasn’t going to work too much. After the third Steelix had folded, they were now left with the big bad “daddy” of them all, a battle-scarred Steelix that then charged their way, intent on taking the very tired ‘mon’s out with a single blow!
“Crap. CRAP! Carrie, Ivan! Earthquake, FULL POWER! Bring it down, bring it down, bring it DOWN!!!” she shrieked as it came in dangerously close for a Slam attack; before suddenly changing course and chaining it into a Gyro Ball attack; spinning like a drill! “Mau! Bulldoze, full power! GO!” she shouted at the idling and battle-tired Trapinch, but it raised its head defiantly and also complied, raising its stubby legs before bringing it down again in a slamming attack that then chained together with the Earthquake salvo that they were firing off! She knew that her balance was seriously out of whack, so she’d decided to steel and plant her legs as firmly as she could manage-but she kept getting knocked over due to the power of the attacks! At the very last second, the Marshtomp leaped in and the unleashed one last Water Gun attack; before flopping over out of exhaustion! The Aron had steeled its defenses and was now resting atop one of the fallen Steelix, before deciding to leap up and then aim a surprise Iron Tail attack on the back of the Steelix’s head!
Under the combined force of all the attacks, the big bad daddy finally folded underneath the sheer number of attacks—but she knew that most of her team was now battle-worn, and if they encountered something else, they’d tip over and just pass out! At least I still have the Garchomp ready just in case… she thought as she finally fell down to the ground, letting out a sigh of relief! The entire ordeal was over; it was done! They had stood up to an entire horde of Onix and Steelix and had barely survived to live to tell the tale!

After surviving the “gauntlet” of Onix and Steelix, she could only wonder if she could still continue; due to the severe level of battering that most of her entire team had received. What she was not prepared for, however, was the next set of events that would unfold—as she held the Marshtomp and rocked hi—her gently in her grasp, a sudden lights show began erupting from the Marshtomp in her hands! “Holy—HEY!” she shouted, quickly dropping Yuya from her hands—and then seeing that the other four also had the same funny thing going for them as well! “What in the name of—WHOA!” she shouted again as the sudden explosion of brightness blinded her; and she was forced to hold up both hands against her face in order to protect against the sudden eruption of light coming from all five of them that had just gone and defended themselves to within an inch of their lives—the Drilbur more surprised than anything else, if that was a sign of anything unusual.
It was over all too soon—the sudden light that lit up the entire area faded away; and she blinked several times in order to get rid of the afterimage that was burned on her retinas. What she saw after blinking, however, almost made her roll over out of shock—her Marshtomp had definitely gotten bigger; and was now more…capable of flinging heavier things from its grip; while Ivan the Larvitar had transformed into some sort of a cocoon! Carreau had gained size—and its spinning appendages were now sharper than ever; and he also carried a look of wisdom; but it was Mausika’s change that surprised her most of all—from the stubby, oversized ant-like creature, he’d changed into something that could now fly, and had wings to show for it! Aron had gained a lot of plating on its back and looked much bigger now—and more menacing. “Oh my god you guys!” she said at first, unable to believe that most of them had evolved after that titanic battle of epic proportions. “You’re all amazing!” she squealed out, and the Swampert raised an arm and roared in approval; while the other four did the same—the now-Vibrava suddenly taking a dive right at her, surprised that he could fly! “Mau! Ohmygoodness I’m so happy for you, you’re no longer struggling to stay upright!” she added, letting the Vibrava fly and buzz all around her.
The little happy celebration would soon be ruined by the appearance of another bipedal rock—but thankfully there was just one of them as opposed to an entire horde of Onix and Steelix—and she could only sigh. “Oh, come on, really?” she said, before Yuya quickly took front and center in front of her and then quickly aimed a spout of water right at it—a Water Gun attack to scare off the creature! The Roggenrola wasn’t perturbed, however, and then began to fling rocks; which was surprising considering its current size. “Arion, you know what to do. Iron Defense and Metal Claw!” she began, letting the now-Lairon take the charge; tightening its defenses before charging right at the Roggenrola that was still making it rain rocks headed their way. There was just a bit of a problem—Lairon were quite slow, but could pack a punch; so it had taken some of the rocks in stride before finally managing to get to where the Roggenrola stood and swiped its steel claws right at it, knocking it down and over!
“Come on you guys. Let’s look for something else to practice against…” she continued, whistling and making them all follow her way; the Lairon kicking a few rocks over the fallen Roggenrola and following Izumi down the path.

She then continued the trek down the area, followed by the band of five Pokemon that were either flying, lumbering, or otherwise scampering to keep up with her! Seeing that Yuya and Carreau had reached their “final forms” so to speak, she chose to recall them back into their Pokeballs for much needed rest, leaving the three behind—the Pupitar, which was now apparently tumbling down the slope in order to be able to “walk” and catch up with them; the Lairon, which was enjoying rolling rocks around so much, and the Vibrava that was flying near Izumi’s shoulder as they continued on their hike down through the area. It didn’t take long before they encountered something… that was sniffing?! “Shh, keep quiet. Stay here,” she said, looking in the general direction of the other two ‘mons that were following her. The Vibrava decided to land on her shoulders, and she could only chuckle as it decided to stay here. “Alright Mau, silent as a mouse okay?” she continued as she snuck forward, trying to determine the source of the crying noise that was getting even louder with each step that they took.
As they approached the next out crag, the crying sound became louder; and that’s when she saw that there was a lone Cubone there, crying and bawling its eyes out; simply because it had been abandoned in the wild. Poor thing… she thought, inching her way closer, with the Vibrava clinging on to her shoulder, watching what was going on. “What happened to you?” she asked the Cubone in a soothing voice, and out of surprise the little thing quickly retaliated and launched what appeared to be one of its attacks, whizzing through the air and barely missing Izumi by mere inches! “Hey! That’s no way to treat a lady,” she began, groaning to herself as she then let the Vibrava take off and fly around, before it decided to scoot backwards and call its fellow team mates in order for them to see just what was going on up ahead where Izumi was located. The Cubone then began to charge forward, its head lowered in a Headbutt stance, when she shrieked out of surprise—she then plucked a Pokeball and let it fly; because there was no way in hell she was going to get tossed around by something so small!
She then watched as the flash of red light transformed into Draken, her Garchomp—and the Dragon-type quickly raised one of its bladed appendages and crossed it along with the other; blocking the incoming attack! It was forced several steps back, but seeing as it had hit something that was like a certain wall in a certain area, the Garchomp didn’t take to it too lightly. It then looked back towards Izumi, before she nodded—it then let a roar before it charged up its own “claws” with draconic energy, preparing itself for an attack as it then began flinging the club it was holding towards the Garchomp that had blocked it!
The first attack struck the Garchomp’s head, before the second one missed—never mind that her Garchomp was annoyed—it then closed the distance and then unleashed a Dragon Claw attack as the third projectile came in, knocking it out of the sky! It then skidded backwards and then charged up its claws again for another attack; when the Cubone came in charging again—and this time it was ready; it then crossed the “claws” as they hummed with draconic energy and waited for impact; a few seconds later the Cubone thudded against the “obstacle”—and was sent backwards by the sudden slashing motion the Garchomp had unleashed at close quarters!
“Good job, Draken,” she remarked as the Cubone was tossed away due to the reverberating force; and she then saw that the other three had gathered to watch “one of their own” in action. “That’s how things should go, once you guys are powerful enough. For now, we train some more. Let’s get back to Ambrette for a few though. You guys must be starving,” she continued, quickly recalling all four ‘mons assembled before getting out of the area.
