She was still on the fence about getting ready for her Gym Challenge in her home region, but she was going to have to face the music and just get on with it. Her right arm was now almost back to normal; as it was just wrapped up in flesh-colored bandages (underneath it were a lot of menthol patches to ease the transitioning pain) and her black eye was almost gone. It had been a while since she’d set foot in Rustboro, but she was here because she was hunting for a specific something—news about the Hoenn-famous Royde family; as they were somewhat of a known family in these areas. She knew that in order to get certain ‘mons that she wanted, she would have to get into at least an information network of Breeders; well technically she already had a go-to but he was located in Unova, so she was checking out other markets as well.
“Now where do I begin looking…” she said to herself, stretching her arms high above her head and then kicking the ground a bit impatiently. She was still trying to decide if she was going to go ahead and do it; but there was this message on her phone that ha, quite admittedly, surprised her nuts. Who the heck is Jason and how’d he get my number? Nah, can’t possibly have been Al or Marcus anyway, they know better than to give away my private number… she thought to herself as she decided to take a stroll and just unwind, relax, and enjoy the clean, crisp air that the city provided. Wonder if I can contact them once again to meet up… it’s been a while ever since I’ve spoken with them… she thought once more, whistling something to keep herself occupied.

ason had just left the pokemon center and decided to take a stroll through the park. He had been preparing to leave Rustboro since his Gym battle was finally over. It went.. decently. He learned a lot, truly. As did his pokemon. But where to next? Jason didn't really know many people outside of Hoenn, and with his knight in shining, err, golden armor missing, Jason had no choice but to search through the contact list of his phone. However, he got hungry and tried to call the local pizza place, which resulted in him accidentally calling.. Izumi? That's her name. Jason didn't really remember her, probably a friend of his father's or something like that, but either way, it was embarrassing.
With a yawn, Jason stretched his arms as he walked towards the park. It was a little past eight, so it was still earlyish, early enough for him to get a jog in. With his basketball shorts and running shoes on, and nothing else, Jason was making good time towards the park. Plus, he had his headphones plugged in and was singing along to the music. "If you don't look like you should, you've got to whip it, whip it, whip it good!"

As she was whistling along to the random tune that had popped into her head, she then realized that she could hear someone… singing. Not to mention that the song sounded so… wrong on so many levels. Her whistling came to an abrupt end as she strained her ears to catch the source of the melody—and soon it became evident that she was going through one of the many parks scattered around Rustboro; and there was someone else there, doing his business and… wait a second what the heck is he doing? She thought, backtracking and then hiding behind a nearby tree, finally seeing the source of the melody approach where she was walking.
It was a guy, and he was apparently doing morning laps—but there was just one thing that was off; why the heck was he not wearing a shirt?! She then listened to his singing—it was somewhat off-key, but nonetheless he was trying (at least in her opinion). Unable to resist, she then stepped out from behind her hiding place and gave a light snicker; and hopefully he didn’t hear that! She then decided to go look for the nearest bench, and then unceremoniously parked herself there, before unballing Arashi, her Quilava, for a breath of fresh air. “Qui, quilava! Qui?” she heard him trill a few moments later, after the red light took form. She then looked down and said, “Oh, just do your thing. Get some exercise and fresh air, okay?” she said, before hefting her legs up and then sitting cross-legged on the bench. It was a bit hard, but it was as good a spot to people-watch as any…
God I hope he didn’t hear me sniggering in his general direction. That would be extremely embarrassing. She thought, all the while fiddling with her phone and playing the voice mail over and over, trying to see if the voice sounded familiar…

t was early in the morning, so Jason didn't really care how well his voice sounded at the moment. He had always loved singing, and was a fairly talented singer, so he considered singing while jogging a warm-up of sorts, or maybe an exercise for his voice; either way, it was something he did almost every day and kept him looking and sounding great, especially looking great. For the past couple years Jason had been working out constantly; training his body for becoming the great trainer he knew he would be. When he still lived at home, he remembered getting looks from the local guys and gals, all of them envious or hungry for him. He would satisfy himself, and them, when he felt the need, but those days were long gone. Jason had, or had had, his sights on one golden guy in particular, but Jason could barely remember the last time he talked to him for more than a few minutes. Always running about and doing something....
From the corner of his eye, Jason saw something dash quickly behind a tree. "What was that?" he thought to himself, not really paying it much attention. He continued jogging down the park trail until he was a minute or so away from what appeared to be a person of the opposite gender, not that it really mattered to Jason, who had a Quilava with her. Perhaps this was what he saw earlier.. Deciding to make an entrance, or at least catch her attention, Jason jogged towards the woman and her pokemon. When he arrived, Jason unplugged his headphones, flexing his biceps while he was doing so, and smiled at the girl with his signature dazzling smile. Jason wasn't entirely sure how she would take it, but he knew that he must have looked hella' fine. A muscular guy glistening with sweat, who wouldn't want some of that?
"Hey there! Couldn't help but notice your Quilava. I have a Cyndaquil of my own. Maybe they can meet while we chat? How's that sound?" Jason asked, his warm smile never leaving his face.

While she was letting Arashi meander around her legs and sniff the grass near it, the person she’d seen running through the park area was now veering directly in her direction, and she gave him a flickering look for a moment, before noticing that… he was trying to show off his muscles?! Nice try though… she thought, resisting the urge to roll her eyes where he could see her doing such a gesture—instead directing her gaze to the now-sniffing Quilava that was now trying to have a go at her boots. She was about to space out on the park bench when said guy approached her and then offered some Pokemon meeting time. “Sure, if that’s not going to be too much of a bother,” she said, still squinting down at the area where this guy’s legs were.
At that moment, she just realized something—why did his voice sound familiar…? She then took out her mobile phone and quickly pressed a few buttons on the screen a few more times and then played the recorded, tinny-sounding voice that her phone had captured. She then hit ‘Stop’ after a certain period of time, and then continued to fiddle around, before finally deciding to let her companion hear what she was listening to. “I don’t know, but does this voice sound familiar…?” she asked, quickly cupping her hands to her phone’s speaker and the playing the voice mail message out loud—it was, quite admittedly, a very embarrassing one; the owner of the voice asking if he’d reached the local number for pizza take-out in Hoenn.
“I think this is you,” she said with a sheepish grin, replaying the voice clip once more, this time at a much louder volume, so that he could hear the tinny voice again.

he reaction Jason got from the girl was surprising, to say the least. He knew he was good, well, great, but not that good! After he had asked for their pokemon to mingle and for them to chat, she looked down at his legs. Which were uncovered because he was wearing loose basketball shorts, and because they were baggy, perhaps she was.. looking for something. Or at least that's what Jason was assuming from the way she immediately looked to his nether regions.. “Sure, if that’s not going to be too much of a bother.” the girl said.
Jason was about to make a comment about where her eyes were trained on when her head snapped up, seemingly in realization of something, and she pulled out her phone and began mashing the buttons on it. She then put it to her ear and listened with intense focus. Jason hadn't really said anything, or done much, so what was this girl's deal? Did she remember something important, or...? After a while, Jason watching the whole time, she pulled her phone away from her face and pressed the speaker button and asked, "I don’t know, but does this voice sound familiar…?" From her phone came an extremely familiar voice, his own, come out of it. It was him asking for pizza. He had called the wrong number. And asked them for pizza.
The girl must have noticed the red color flooding his chest and making its way up his neck, because she said with a sheepish grin, "I think this is you." Jason chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, casually showing off his biceps and triceps once more while do so, and said, "Haha, yeah.. That's me alright. The one and only Jason Royde."
