So it had been quite a long time. As if waking up from a very long nightmare, Izumi found herself in the Safari Zone once again, because the last thing she could remember was that she had gone somewhere and then completely and totally blacked out. Now that she was trying to get into the hang of things once again, she decided to pursue her wish list… but she didn’t know that she was hunting for a certain particular “rare type” that was talk of the town. Well, it’s a dinosaur for starters, but hell it’s one I want. Besides she’s too cute to pass up and honestly, I want to get started on the next leg of the journey… she thought to herself as she submitted herself to the routine check-down yet again.
After finally gaining clearance, she then stepped through the gates and saw that the Safari Zone had also undergone quite a radical change in her absence… it was now more organized, as she could tell that there were now distinct “zones” that housed certain ‘mons, at least according to the explanation that was given to her. She then sighed, and then realized that if she was going to look for that particular one, she’d better go to the one that was clearly marked on the map in her hands, and made her way to the Third Zone, which appeared to be a split between a sunny summer ocean and a very cold, freezing snow-capped area.
Hoping that this was for the best, she quickly sent out Sora, her Braviary, and then watched as he appeared in a flash of red light. “Brav?” she heard him squawk, before nuzzling her for a bit. “Okay, go fly into the sky and let me know if you see this one…. It’s a little-looking dinosaur, and it’s blue. Don’t try to hurt it, just let me know where she is, okay?” she said, before scratching underneath his chin and watching as the Braviary gave a flap of its wings and took to the skies.
She then decided to trudge through the area on foot, and was now headed in no certain direction, just meandering around to see what would happen…

She thought she could hear a birdcall coming from Sora, whose shadow she could see some distance ahead, when a cold wind suddenly blew and then… something appeared. To her dismay, it wasn’t the one she was looking for, but this was just the first step! Grinning, she then knew exactly what to do. Plucking another Pokeball from her pocket, she then sent out its occupant in a flash of red light, and it revealed Arashi, the cute Quilava who was her companion—at least for the time being, since she also has “mama Kaji”, a certain redhead’s Typhlosion, in her care. “Okay Ara. So here’s the thing. You see that snowflake there… can you blast it out of the way with a Flamethrower attack for me?” she said in the excitable Quilava’s direction, to which it nodded, and gave a purr.
“Qui, qui! Quilava!” she heard it say before watching as it took a deep breath and inhaled, preparing for the Flamethrower attack. She then stole a glance upwards—yet Sora had already flown ahead and out of her sight; which was a good thing; as she needed ”eyes in the sky” in order to scout far ahead for her. At the same time, the ironic snowflake that she’d already encountered before was quick to launch a beam attack that sparkled in all colors of the rainbow; however it was cut off halfway by a powerful stream of fire that was issuing from Arashi’s mouth.
“Turn up the power Ara, another Flamethrower attack, go!” she said once more from the sidelines, and this time the little Quilava took another deep breath and breathed out another powerful, steady stream of flames—just as the weird snowflake started to create what looked like a screen in order to conceal itself! The cold winds had nothing against the burning air around it, and it was quickly dissipated—and then went on to smack the Cryogonal full in the face. She then sighed, and watched as the snowflake ‘mon fluttered off to one side, hissing out of rage and annoyance. She then pocketed her hands, and then whistled in Ara’s direction, saying, “C’mon, let’s go, we still have a lot of ground to cover,” before going off past the battlefield, where the snow had evaporated and was melting into water at her every step.

After trudging through the snow, she hissed; why were her clothes getting abnormally cold all of a sudden?! She then realized that she’d already wandered in a bit further than she liked, and the snow was up to her knees at that point. She then hissed, before whistling once more—and Ara quickly trotted over at the sound of her call. “Qui?” she heard her companion inquire, before she gestured out in front of her. “Can you help me, and melt the snow?” she asked, to which the Quilava quickly nodded, and then inhaled—before setting out another stream of fire from its gaping mouth. She then watched as the snow quickly melted away—unfortunately it resulted in a sudden river of water that began trickling down towards the ocean!
“Ah crap I forgot! Ara, get back in here, you’re weak to Water!” she shouted a few moments later as more snow had been melted—and there was an even stronger gush of water as well. Hearing the surprised and panicked cry of her Quilava, she retrieved his Pokeball and sent him back inside—but not before quickly sending out another ‘mon, fierce and proud. Watching as the next flash of red light coalesced, she then saw that Riku, her Hydreigon, was scenting the air—before letting out an almighty roar. “Whoa, whoa, Riku, calm down!” she almost yelped, quickly making shushing noises and then whistling a calming tune; just to reassure that she was still there with him.
“Gon? Hydreigon?” she heard him ask, turning around and doing a 180-degree spin before watching his face look at hers in surprise. “Come on, let’s get going…” she began, before the sound of something also similar caught her attention. “Osha? Oshawott?” the odd couple heard, and as one the turned to face the source of the noise… it was an Oshawott! “But wait a second, I already have one of these guys…” she said to herself, remembering that Rakka was just waiting to be called into her service. She then sighed, before looking at Riku straight in the eye, “Don’t harm the little one it hasn’t done anything to you.” She stated, before whistling the “attention” tune and then walking around the little sea otter, which was shaking so hard it was trembling like a leaf!

As her Braviary, Sora, was flying far ahead, it saw something moving towards where his mistress was, and the Valiant Pokemon quickly did a roundabout sweeping turn and then flew as fast as it could back to where Izumi and Riku were now trudging through the snow, and then let out a warning cry—it had found something just as interesting and just as coveted; even if it wasn’t that weird-looking dinosaur that his mistress was looking for. Back on the ground, she thought she heard something carried to her on the air, and looked up just in time to see Sora land in front of her, and gave a quick spread of its wings and began squawking urgently.
“Brav, brav, braviary!” she heard him say, and this gave way to confusion—had he seen the wanted Amaura they were chasing after? She looked up expectantly at the squawking ‘mon, before Riku turned around to face ahead once more—and then gave another almighty, earth-shaking roar. The “thing” that her Braviary had seen wasn’t light blue, it was pink—and it was unusual for it to appear in this particular area! Before long, Riku let out a roar and watched as a pink blob suddenly slithered into the clearing where they were all located—and wasted no time, transforming into an exact copy of her Hydreigon—and that was where the general confusion began!
“Ri—Riku, wait a second why the hell is there another Hydreigon in front of you?! Go!” she shouted, quickly whistling one of the newer melodies that she was working on; it was a sign for Riku to lower its head and charge up for a Zen Headbutt attack! At the same time, she looked over at Sora and then added, “Get ready with a Tailwind speed boost, go!” and felt the wind suddenly pick up speed—as Sora was flapping his wings and a fierce breeze ripped through the area. She knew that Tailwind would work if but for a short time, and then she watched as Riku charged into the fray, its head lowered at the obvious clone—how was it possible to have a fully-evolved Hydreigon in the Safari Zone?!
The ‘mirror image’ then retaliated with a Body Slam attack at the same time that Riku came in charging forward with its own head low—and both mistress and his ‘partner’ could only watch in confusion as the two Hydreigons started using Body Slam on each other—would this rubber match from hell ever end?! She then got an idea and then quickly let loose with the chain of notes that sounded like a musical saw—and this time Riku reared back and bared its fangs—while the ‘duplicate’ began to fire off a Dragonbreath attack! She could only watch as a stream of draconic energy emerged from the other Hydreigon’s mouth; and then Riku closed the distance (thanks to the speed boost that Tailwind offered) and then bit down as hard as he could manage on the ‘duplicate’ and for a moment Izumi thought she could see the other ‘Hydreigon’ flickering…
“Wait a second I know what it is! Sora! Go and help Riku with your Shadow Claw attack, and Riku, do this!” she added, quickly letting the chain of mournful notes drop—and the Dragon-type quickly switched tactics and watched as it took a deep breath and expelled a powerful blast of draconic energy; and at the same time her Braviary came in swooping from above, catching the ‘other’ Hydreigon with a surprise clawing attack! The ‘mirage’ flickered even more; before the image of ‘Hydreigon’ vanished, to be replaced by a pink blob that had a seemingly hurriedly-drawn “face” across its features. Now that she’d engaged two ‘mons in battle, the little blob was unsure of what form to take, and was now trying to transform into a red-colored Hydreigon that had a Braviary’s wings. “Sora, go use your U-Turn attack now, and Riku, do this!” she added, quickly giving a shrill blast with two fingers stuck in her mouth; a new signal that she was telling him to use Body Slam.
Her Braviary let out a cry before rushing forward, and smacking it roundabout with its wings and body—and as it rushed back, the looming, mighty Hydreigon rushed forward and then slammed its entire body weight on the pink blob, which recoiled and was now stunned—or better, Paralyzed. Seeing that it was now literally confused, Izumi quickly tossed the lone Safari Ball that she had at the pink blob, and watched as it disappeared in a flash of red light… would it submit?

The surroundings were so quiet, one could literally hear a pin drop if they listened hard enough. Three pairs of eyes (two ‘mons, one human) watched and stared at the Safari Ball as it shook once, twice, and then ever-so-gently shook for the third time… and then stopped fidgeting. At that moment, a very loud screech of delight echoed throughout the area; it was Izumi—she’d finally gotten her hands on a Ditto, and apparently (at least in the Breeder’s Circle) it was highly sought-after! She then patted down her hands and then gave a grin, before quickly scooping up the Safari Ball and then watching it as it disappeared, whisked off to some dimension in cyberspace.
She then whistled, and watched as Riku did an about-face and looked at her, before taking out the Safari Ball that Riku normally resided in, and called him back, giving it a salute as it disappeared in a flash of red light. Now that she was left with Sora, she decided to exit the Safari Zone in a different way… by whistling once, and then she saw him spread his wings majestically. “Sora. Take me out of here. Let’s Fly,” she said with a grin, and watched as her Valiant ‘mon prepared for lift-off. A few moments later, they were both airborne—and watched as the snowy terrains dropped out of sight; another day was done; another time would come for her to hunt that Amaura down.
