So it was the New Year—another time to search for ‘mons that was still on her extremely long wish lit. Izumi could only sigh; because with the rumors of a new region spreading like wildfire amongst the folk, it was inevitable that her own wish list would expand to accommodate this new “area” that they spoke of in whispers; what the heck was causing her to become like someone who wanted to “catch them all”? She sighed, before deciding to poke around the edges of Sunyshore City; secretly thankful that her Braviary could finally “take her places” and it did cut down on travelling costs—within a regional area, it seemed. That and my boots need replacing, she thought to herself as she then began looking around, hoping that she would be able to find something worthwhile…
Please make my day, please make my day… she thought once more as she strained her ears to listen for any sound that would alert her to an intruder’s presence. She was on the hunt once more; and ever since the new Year rolled around, she was still unable to get her mind off what had happened to the red-head she’d swore to guard and protect. The cast was still on her right arm; but the eye patch was gone—she could finally crack her eyes open just a bit; and tried to look around—even with only one functioning eye (as of the moment) it was still particularly difficult to see the surroundings, what with half of the total area cut in darkness. Come on, come on, come on… she thought once more, secretly crossing her fingers and digging around inside her jacket with her left hand, and finally deciding to take Arashi on a training run as well, while she was at it…

She then heard a monotone-sounding voice echoing from seemingly somewhere ahead of her, and strained her ears to listen to the voice… why did it sound robotic? “…mite, magnemite, magnemite, magnemite…” she heard a few moments later as a weird-looking metal blob floated into view, it had two screws on its body; and underneath it were two magnets, with each of the so-called polarities facing in opposite directions. She knew that she already had an Electric-type in Tyrfin, her Eelektrik, but then decided that since the Steinhart bank was all but deserted, that it was time to fill it up with some denizens. And besides, you’re close, but not quite what I was looking for, she thought to herself as she fiddled around in her jacket and found the Pokeball marked with a single sticker of a flame.
Sending out its occupant in a flash of red light, she watched as it formed into Arashi, her baby Cyndaquil—and the sole remaining unevolved member of her current team. “Now, Ara, it’s time to get you up to speed with everyone else. Why not we start with your Flamethrower attack, try to take down that weird thing—we’re catching it, yes; but not for our team. Alright?” she said, as the little fire-mouse was affectionately rubbing itself against her boots once more. “Cyn, cyndaquil!” she heard him say, before the fire briefly flashed out of its back for a moment as iit trotted forward and then took aim. “Cyn!” it cried, before inhaling and then expelling a blast of fire, which not only heated up the surrounding air; but also raced in a straight line towards the floating magnet.
“Magnemite, magnetite… magnemite!?” she heard it drone on, before it quickly released several weird-looking projectiles that were headed Arashi’s way. Some of the projectiles managed to land before exploding in a burst of gray—she assumed it was metal—but most of the Flamethrower attack had melted off the other incoming “bombs” and hit the Magnemite smack on the “eye” in the center of its body. She then hissed; because the projectiles that had exploded were now emitting a rusty odor—and then the levitating magnet then took aim, before firing another shot, seemingly comprised of light particles! “Arashi, dodge and hit it with Flamethrower once more!”
“Cyn!” she heard her companion chant, before taking another deep breath—but by then it was a bit late, as the second attack struck the little Cyndaquil’s snout squarely! “Cyn!” she heard it cry, its focus thrown off-balance—and the little magnet seemingly chuckled, albeit in a robotic tone. “Ara, let’s go try that one more time, Flamethrower attack, now!” she continued, encouraging the Cyndaquil on—and this time the attack was launched—a scorching blast of fire was expelled from the fire mouse’s gaping maw; and the little magnet tried to counter with a full-on charging attack, which she assumed was a Tackle attack. As the little magnet was rushing towards the Cyndaquil, it met the burst of fire head-on—and eventually ended up landing to the ground with a loud thud, scorch marks covering its body.
“Sorry, but it’s for the best,” she said, digging out a Pokeball and letting it fly, watching as the sadistic little magnet-shaped ‘mon was swallowed in a flash of red light…

After watching the Pokeball shake and shudder, it then stopped; and she walked over to watch it slowly vanish—but not before she took out a marker pen and slashed a single line across the red part of the surface; meaning that it wasn’t for her to keep. Just as soon as the little thing vanished, however—another one showed up! Gah! What the hell?! She said in her mind, wondering if the so-called thing called “déjà vu” was playing tricks on her. However, this one wasted no time as it quickly let loose with an electrically-charged attack, which exploded mere feet from her Cyndaquil’s standpoint! “Hold your ground, Ara! Hold your ground and use Lava Plume around it!” she began, issuing a different set of commands—because this little one was definitely going to give her a showdown.
The magnet’s next attack was just a simple leer—but apparently it meant something, as her Cyndaquil took a deep breath and then expelled another blast of fire—at the same time the ground in the approximate vicinity of the Magnemite began to heat up, before another burst of fire shot out of it; raining down hot lava on it—and at the same time the fire apparently “baked” the little thing; why was it suddenly so weak to Fire-type attacks? She could only shake her head as she watched it fight to get up—this one’s a keeper, and you’re mine, she thought, fascinated with the magnet’s determination. The next attack proved to be just as deadly—as her Cyndaquil was scrambling for a better foothold, she then saw a flash of light suddenly shoot towards the little fire-mouse!
“Make way and dodge—“she began before the seemingly powerful flash of light smacked the little Cyndaquil straight on, and it let out a cry of pain. “Ara! Are you aright?! Get up! Come on, don’t lost hope!” she continued, quickly gesturing towards the magnet as it began firing off another series of familiar-looking projectiles; and this time the little ire-mouse picked itself up; before awaiting further orders. “Ara, go! Flamethrower attack, one more time!” she shouted, watching as the projectiles came in dangerously close—and a that exact same moment, another breath of scorching fire came from the little mouse, and met the projectiles and managed to melt most of it—though a few escaped the onslaught and were now stuck down to the Cyndaquil, weighing it down…
“Ara! Keep up the stream of fire!” she said encouragingly, watching as the little fire-mouse rallied, and expelled another blast of scorching-hot flames; before watching the little magnet sink down to the ground; apparently over baked by the heat—and she quickly took out another Pokeball, and tossed it, watching as the red-and-white receptacle opened up and swallowed the baked little thing in a flash of red light…

After watching this Pokeball shudder, she had a triumphant grin on her face—for it had gone down without putting up any sort of fight, to say the least. “Now then,” she continued to herself, striding over and picking up said Pokeball to mark it once more before it disappeared into the depths of her storage facilities—and then she suddenly realized something; her Type-coverage was starting to get real ugly at this point; because she was lacking in some areas; yet overcompensated in others. She was about to resume her hunt for more additions to the team bank when she saw something moving up ahead—it definitely caught her eye—and this one that had made its appearance was definitely staying with her.
Ah yes, you’re coming with me, most definitely! She thought with a grin as she saw a miniature, yellow-and-black striped entity walk along—the top of its head looked suspiciously like any other plug—what surprised her was the energy the little one was releasing. She felt all the hairs on her arm (and subsequently, nape) stand up on end as it released several little zaps… before stopping to regard Izumi with some confusion—which eventually turned into aggressiveness; as it quickly fired off a spherical-shaped ball of electricity at her Cyndaquil! And another feisty one… man, Agni is going to love this company… she thought with a smirk as she quickly sidestepped and issued the next set of orders, “Let’s try out that new attack we’ve been practicing, Ara, use Extrasensory, now!” and watched as the little fire-mouse complied—it was as if the little “spark plug” was suddenly attacked by unseen forces—in all honesty it was just Cyndaquil’s attempt at using its newest attack.
Well that didn’t go well… she thought her brow furrowing as she quickly switched tactics, “Okay, let’s go back to the tried-and-tested tactics. Ara, use Flamethrower now, and place as much distance as you can between yourself and this livewire!” she added, watching as the little fire-mouse inhaled and then expelled a blast of scorching-hot flames a few moments later—and at the same time the little livewire suddenly summoned a very familiar-looking bolt of electricity; she barely had time to screech a warning to duck and evade as both Flamethrower and Thunderbolt attacks connected on their respective targets—the livewire being scorched by the flames; and Ara… well let’s just say Ara didn’t get off too well, as the full-force Thunderbolt smacked it, successfully cutting off the stream of fire that it was producing.
“A-Ara!” she shouted, watching as the electric haze cleared—and showed that the little fire-mouse had keeled over; but not without equal damage on the Elekid’s part. “Ara! Come on! Get up! You’re much better than this!” she shouted from the sideline as the little Elekid readied to drop another Thunderbolt attack—when a bright flash of light suddenly emanated from the little fire-mouse. Are you finally evolving?! She thought, watching as the bright light enveloped the Cyndaquil’s body—and even the Elekid was too stunned to continue as the light intensified…
-->
After some time, it finally revealed itself—but it wasn’t a Cyndaquil anymore, it looked terribly familiar—because she’d seen “mama Kaji” in this form before, and her eyes widened out of surprise. “Oh my… Ara, good job!” she squealed, before quickly picking up on the hint, “Use your Lava Plume attack once again, let’s end this—I’m going in for the capture!” and then watched the next scene unfold: as the Elekid decided to finally drop the Thunderbolt on her Quilava, the ground around it began to tremble—before it did burst open and plumes of fire encircled and rained down on it; cutting off any chance of summoning any more electricity from the sky!
It then attempted to fire off another spherical charge of electricity; but the flames were too overwhelming—and it tipped over just as the plume of fire died out, swirly-eyed and exhausted. She then grinned, before taking out yet another Pokeball, and let it fly, watching as the little livewire was caught in its beam of red light and was eventually swallowed up…

She hoped against hope, that maybe the little livewire would break free of its containing device—but was most surprised to see that it had gone down without a struggle—at least for now! She then sighed in relief as the newly-grown-up Arashi looked in her direction, before questioning her, “Qui? Quilava?” in a deeper-sounding voice, much different from the way mama Kaji addressed her former red-haired master. “Nah, I’m alright Ara, just needed some quiet time to think about something,” she said, scooping up the Pokeball before watching it eventually disappear; she then realized that her PC may be getting filled up with unused ‘mons at that point, and then sighed—how was she going to train them all?
At that moment, an unusual phenomenon happened—for an Abra appeared, Teleporting into view. Mistress and ‘mon froze—for they knew that one false move would make the Abra disappear from them. she knew that Claire needed more of these particular ‘mon, but then realized—what if she had enough? Turning around ever-so-slightly then, she then gave the Abra a deep bow, a sign that she was not going to fight it, and instead respect its privacy. She then whistled one sharp note in the air that caused Arashi to come bounding back to her, and then called him back into his Pokeball, watching as he disappeared in a flash of red light.
And that’s that, she thought, sighing in relief as she knew that she had to catch a few more ‘mons before dropping them all off in the Team Bank—because she couldn’t keep making return trips all the time now, could she?
