Kouji was at it again. Specifically, he wanted to add an actual, usable ‘mon to his currently small party. He knew that Kermit (his Tympole) still had some “rain” problems, so he thought it best to leave the Rain Dance-summoning ‘mon behind on this journey. There really were some walks that one needed to take alone; and that was one of those times. He was now in Lentimas Town, the place where sand and dust… just about got into every single nook and cranny one had. Ugh if I don’t hurry this up I’m going to end up getting asthma… I hope not, he thought with a grim look as he began prowling around the mountainous area, hoping that something interesting would turn up.
He hadn’t sent out any of his two companions yet; simply because it wasn’t the time— or place— to do so. He’d heard rumors of a haunted area not too far from where he was; and much as he wanted to go and explore it, there was no way he was going to—not without risking triggering another of those crazy “visions” he’d been seemingly having more and more of lately. What the hell is causing them to haunt me openly? He thought once more, as he began scanning the area, hoping for something interesting to make an appearance. I hope something good comes out soon, because I really want to try and get breeding again… he thought again, sighing as he remembered the pile of Breeding material he had yet to commit to memory that was waiting for him back in Humilau.
Just as he was about to turn tail and run, he saw it—the bushes were shaking—and from out of nowhere, an avian-type Pokemon appeared. It looked… weird, to say the least, but if he was going to get into the Breeding business, he’d better start collecting ‘mons from different Egg Groups—and this one, quite appropriately, fit the Flying” category, no matter how… macabre it looked. “Well then,” he began with a single smirk crossing his face before he dug deep into his pocket and let one of his Pokeballs fly. In a flash of red light, one of his two companions appeared—and it was just the one he needed. “Beth,” he continued, with this knowing look in his eye, “Let’s get the ball rolling with Power Gem, shall we?” he finished with a grin on his face, and his Misdreavus could only nod and wiggle as she began conjuring up a concentrated beam of energy that was composed of rock particles.
At the same time though, the little bird seemingly had plans of its own—it then flapped up its wings and summoned up a wind that suddenly tore through the area, causing Kouji to throw up his arms to deflect the blast of air! “Gah! Really?!” he shouted, before quickly reissuing his orders. “Beth, Power Gem, now! Before it does anything too drastic!” he said, while holding his ground—the wind that was ripping through the area was certainly powerful enough to sent lightweights flying this way and that. “Misdreavus!” he heard his companion trill once more—and at that moment, the sinister-looking beam composed of rocky particles was launched towards the little bird, which was, quite amusingly, wearing a diaper!
Pfffft, stop making me laugh… he thought with a grin as the little bird quickly closed the distance and began attacking the levitating Misdreavus with a barrage of swiping attacks! “What!?” he could only say out of surprise as the attacks connected, and then he quickly continued on with, “Power Gem, one more time!” since the first attack apparently missed—no, wait, it had nicked the little “diaper bird” somewhat, but it was starting to look off-balance. Had he guessed right about the Power Gem being very effective against the bird? Right now, it was his best chance! “Duck and avoid the attack, then try your luck with Confuse Ray!” he continued, watching as the little bird came in close again for another series of swiping attacks, and this time a bright flash of light (similar to a flash-bang grenade) ripped through the area, smacking the little thing head-on… did it work?
The answer was evident—as the light cleared out, the little bird was still standing—yet it looked disoriented. “Okay, Beth, one more try! Power Gem!” he continued, before hearing his companion chant, “Misdreavus!” and watched as the beam composed of rocky particles appeared one more time—and this time, the bird apparently hit itself instead of hitting his partner; and with the combined force of the Power gem attack, it went down… and he saw his chance! He quickly took out a Pokeball and tossed it at the shell-shocked bird, watching as it disappeared in a flash of red light…
As he continued his trek around the area, he then saw… something that almost made him flip the nearest rock out of annoyance. What the hell is a levitating ice cream cone doing here?! He thought to himself, wondering f he was seeing things—he shut his eyes and then opened them; sadly he was not seeing things at all. “Well then,” he said to himself, shaking his head. “Beth, you know what to do… Confuse Ray first, and then follow it up with Shadow Ball. Can’t risk attracting too much attention now, can we?” he said, shifting his head to one side before watching the madness unfold. Right then and there, the levitating ice cream cone noticed that it wasn’t alone, and quickly expelled a blast of icy-cold wind headed towards the levitating entity.
“Dodge that, now!” he continued as the bright flash of light soared towards the ice-cream cone, and then it was followed up with a conjured ball made from the shadow element that quickly followed right behind the flash of light. The floating cone blinked only once—and never saw the “light ray” coming in; instead of launching the attack towards the little female ghost, it then seemingly redirected and then smacked itself instead! “Whoops,” he added with a grin as the levitating cone was sent flying away due to the force of the Shadow Ball and its own attack careening away from the path… he then sighed and continued to walk forward, beckoning Beth to follow him; since they were in need of something worthwhile.
After escaping the “mad ice cream cone from Hell” he then slowed down just a bit, trying to catch his breath—because one could really get tired with all that running! After a while though, Beth alerted him to another presence nearby—and he almost flopped over out of shock, because this was one of the “original” seven that had been sent over to him as “price” for affiliation perks and privileges. He then sighed, because Beth was getting ready to fire off a Shadow Ball if necessary—but he quieted her by saying, “Sshh, no need to get all aggressive. It can’t see us, right?” while looking shiftily over at the ‘mon that apparently had no eyes…
Big mistake. The moment that he’d looked at it, it quickly fired off a barrage of rocks, and he let out a surprised yelp; what the hell was it doing?! “Ouch! Beth, dodge that and fire off Shadow Ball as you originally planned to! Go!” he shouted, narrowly missing the barrage of rocks that were pelting their way. He then watched the rest of the battle unfold—as his ‘mon formed a ball made from shadows, it then attempted to charge forward, it head seemingly bent low—but it was surprised as it phased through the Ghost-type, and he could only snicker—before the little Misdreavus turned around and then shot the ball of shadow energy at the offending creature!
“Come on Beth let’s get out of here! We have better things to look for!” he added, already skidding down the path; hoping that he didn’t run into anything too damaging or weird! The little Ghost-type followed him, and who knew what they were going to see next… dang I better go on a vacation sometime soon… he thought, his mind drifting to the battered Old Rod that was waiting in his room back at the Ranch.
So now that he was continuing his journey, he saw that there was still something else out there that needed to be added to his ranch—imagine his surprise to see that it was actually one of the two ‘martial arts’ ‘mons that he’d come across—and he was secretly thankful that it was the blue one and not the red one. “Well then,” he said, looking at the dressed ‘mon in front of him, holding up its arms as if gesturing “Come and get me if you can!” while sporting a menacing leer on his face. “Time to get this show on the road… well Beth, smack it with your Power Gem, if you may. Let’s try and grab this one. Looks pretty tough, too,” he added, gesturing his companion forward; and she did so without further ado.
The levitating entity then began summoning a beam made up of rock particles and then fired it off in the other ‘mon’s direction; whereupon it quickly responded by trying to gather its focus—was it preparing for something out of the ordinary? He then followed it up with, “Come on Beth, use your Confuse Ray now, and let’s try to wear him down!” he added, watching as his companion quickly emitted a bright flash of light (he made sure to turn away) and then opened his eyes only afterwards; seeing that the ‘mon now had this dazed look on its face. “Perfect, now, Power Gem once more, and be quick about it,” he continued, watching as another beam of energy then soared towards the dazed Sawk, and then smacked it full in the face. It then tried to lunge at the levitating Misdreavus; but ended up hurting itself instead—was it really that unprepared?
A few moments later though, a barrage of rocks went whizzing towards the Misdreavus, which simply hovered out of the way in an attempt to evade the sudden attack caused by the Sawk. “Okay, one more time, Power Gem, then follow it up with Shadow Ball!” he addressed, watching from the sidelines and getting the Pokeball ready to catch the darned thing. Having that possible Tyrogue wasn’t going to be enough—he could breed for it again, but who knew if that was going to be successful? He then watched as even more rocks went flying; and at the end of it all, Elizabeth was still floating as she approached him, and the dust haze cleared, showing that the Sawk had passed out.
Satisfied, he then threw the Pokeball, and then watched as the Sawk was swallowed up in a flash of red light. One, two, three… he counted to himself in the back of his mind.
