She knew that Thomas was looking high and low for a certain ‘mon; and hoping that her luck was just as skewed as his, she then went out and began looking for the one that he wanted—the baby form of a Marill, which was an Azurill. Wondering if it would be easy to catch, she decided to have one of her own ‘mons out and about for this part of the hunt; this time it was Sora who was walking around he, hopping ahead and looking back to check if she was able to keep up with him.
“Ruff, ruff, rufflet?” she heard him ask, before squawking once more and then dipping his head low to look for something to munch on. “Calm the hell down Sora, why are you so excited?” she began, huffing and puffing as she began walking through the high grass; before bending over double and coming to a stop. She then breathed in and out, trying to stabilize her body from the sudden chase, when they both heard a rustling noise…
“What’s that…” she trailed off, quickly picking her way through the grass and then following Sora as he hopped around, trying to pick out where the sound of the rustling was coming from. Would they strike gold, or would they have to suffer the consequences of having to hunt high and low for that particular one that he wished for…? Come on, don’t troll me now… she thought as she inadvertently crossed her fingers; and hoping for the best.

Nope. Absolutely not.
These were the words that immediately came to mind once the rustling sound had shown itself… and man, oh man, it wasn’t the one that Izumi was looking for! Groaning as she secretly rolled her eyes, she then cringed as she called Sora over. “Let’s skirt past this one, it’s not the one we’re looking for,” she began, suddenly remembering that she was also looking for one of the most pathetic Pokemon that ever existed—at least, next to Feebas when it came to pre-evolutionary lines. She knew that these certain ‘mons were considered as the “Ugly Ducklings” of the entire known Pokemon world; but once they were sufficiently trained up enough, they were terrors to behold once they were given the chance to evolve.
“Come on, please be the one I’m hunting for…” she trailed off once again as she heard the sound of rustling grass, followed by a splashing noise that caught her—and Sora’s—attention all at once. “Ruff, rufflet? Rufflet!” she heard him chirrup, before hopping on ahead in order to see just what the hell they were going to be facing next. Looks like this is going to be utter hell for me… she thought with a look of displeasure on her face at that particular moment. Please give me some good luck, please. She added, silently wishing that either an Azurill or a male Magikarp would make their sudden appearance…

It was as if the gods of luck had decided to mess with her at the most inopportune times: the next ‘mon that made an appearance was… a Feebas. “W-what. WHAT!?” she had time to screech, before throwing her hands up into the air out of disgust; she’d recently gotten a Feebas from Thomas over in Unova—and then, right here, right at this very moment in her own homeland, one decides to make its face (and presence) known in her presence. What irony has been dealt my way…. This is just… derp, she thought, massaging her temples out of annoyance. Sora looked over to what his mistress was doing, and then called out to her, as if checking in on her, “Rufflet? Ruff, rufflet?” she heard him ask her, and she looked up and then resisted the urge to roll her eyes once more.
“I’m fine, Sora. So, apparently… Milotic is big on the scene. Go use your Peck attack on that thing, now!” she called out, shifting into ‘command’ mode and watching as her Rufflet gave an affirmative squawk, before it quickly closed the distance and got in very close for the mentioned attack. She was expecting this weird-, ugly-looking…thing to attack and fight back, but all it did was flop and splash around in the puddle; which just served to make her literally roll her eyes in its direction. What the hell, seriously?! She thought once again, sighing as Sora looked over at her in confusion—what was he going to do next? “Alright, use your Air Slash on it, and be quick—I can see an opportunity when it presents itself,” she trailed off, quickly keeping track of what it was going to do—and then she saw that it was charging her way; apparently trying to tackle the Rufflet off-balance.
“Nope,” she said with a grin as she watched the cross-shaped air current materialize from out of nowhere, and cut off its charging Tackle attack, sending it flying—she then drew out another one of her Pokeballs, and then tossed it at the Feebas that was attempting to attack—yet it had tried to just splash around the water puddle it had landed in!

Watching as the Pokeball stopped shaking, she held her breath as she waited for the telltale click to resonate throughout the area—and once it had, she quickly dashed over and picked up said Pokeball and then whistled a sharp tune, which startled Sora out of shock and surprise! She then sighed, wondering if her luck would turn for the better… when something orangeish… or was it yellowish… waddled into her field of vision. Groaning once more, she then said to Sora, “Nope, not this one either. What the actual hell…” she trailed off; secretly wishing that the next thing she ran across was something she was actually looking for.
She then began looking through her pockets and was alarmed to realize that she was almost out of Pokeballs—and that if she wanted to continue with this, she needed to buy some more! Note to self: get more Pokeballs, catch more Pokemon. Think of the profit, went through her mind as she stared at the…thing that as blankly staring back at her. With another sigh, she then turned tail on it, and then clicked her tongue—which made Sora look up. “Come on, let’s look elsewhere…” she trailed off, feeling her sneakers squelch into the mud as she continued to look for those particular ‘mons that would make her day…

She was making her way through the various water puddles that were scattered along the path that she was walking on—when she saw something suddenly jump up and out of the water—it looked like a very pretty fish; however it wasn’t the one that she was looking for. Well, at least I got the Feebas… that’s a good sign if any, she thought to herself, shaking her head as she called her Rufflet over and then scooped him up instead in her arms, giving it a nuzzle. The bird was surprised at the sudden interaction—yet it squawked happily; having finally gotten the chance to be held and babied by his mistress. “Rufflet, rufflet… ruff,” she heard it chirrup, before she shook her head, and then gently let him down for a moment.
“Okay, give me a few seconds, Sora,” she said, quickly searching through her backpack and coming out with another bottle of Repel spray. She knew that her luck was being stretched thin, but she hoped for the best as she quickly used the contents of the can, shrouding herself and the little bird ‘mon in its mist—watching as the little expensive-looking fish continued to jump through the water without a care in the world. Come on, please let this last-ditch effort not be in vain… she thought, hoping for the best as she waited for the mist to clear…

As the mist cleared—another sight greeted her; but it was one she was secretly hankering over; it was a Magikarp! She even knew some of the terrible puns that were related to this poor fish, which was on the same level as Feebas in terms of “usefulness” (meant in a sarcastic way). She then gave Sora’s prominent headdress-like feather a thorough tickling, before grinning and then saying in an undertone, “Look over there. It’s something that will make getting across bodies of water ridiculously easier once we raise it right,” she began, before straightening up and then calling out her intention, “Now, Sora, use your Air Slash attack on it—what the hell it’s coming in! Quickly!” she had time to shout before skidding off to one side as the carp bounded and bounced in her direction… attempting to use its Tackle attack on Sora!
“Ruff, rufflet! Rufflet!” she heard him chirrup, before flapping his wings as fast as he could manage; and then two blades of crossed air materialized and whizzed through the space, headed towards the flopping fish! It had whistled off to one side—and the Magikarp had managed to connect with its attack, forcing Sora to take a few steps backwards! “Okay, now that it’s nearby, use your Peck attack on it, go!” she added, quickly taking advantage of the reduced distance, and then Sora raised its beak and began poking the fish with ferocity; as if trying to make it bend its will into coming along with them. the Magikarp seemingly retaliated… by doing a splashing attack that did absolutely nothing at all!
She could only roll her eyes as Sora continued to poke its beak at the thing, before it managed to retaliate with an attack that seemingly flailed around—only thing was that since Sora was in such close proximity, he got pelted with the random actions that the Magikarp was taking—and then she saw that the little bird looked just as battered as the fish did! “What the hell!?” she had time to exclaim, quickly tossing another Pokeball at it; because Sora looked like it was on the verge of collapse!

After the Pokeball shook three times, it then hissed close with a final click; signifying that the occupant had stopped struggling! She quickly brought out Sora’s Pokeball as well, quickly calling him back in a flash of red light—any second longer he spent outside of the spherical residence he was sure to topple over and possibly not get up; after the full-force of the Magikarp’s attack, it was wth near certainty that she needed to rush to the nearest Pokemon center. Not minding the fact that the area was blanketed with a fine layer of ash, she then scuttled over, and scooped up the spherical residence which now housed a very battered-looking fish.
She then whistled; at least this trip didn’t end on a sour note—unlike most of her Safari Zone runs. And speaking of the Safari Zone…she decided to head over there next because why the hell not? She could go and have another run of looking for rares; since her team was slowly but surely expanding to a certain point that she had to make sure that she had sufficient Typing-coverage; for one thing she had too many of the Water-types, and secretly wished that a Fire-type…or several could balance the heat that her team could face when pressed into a corner.
