Thomas could cross off yet another Pokemon from the list provided to him recently. It was a lucky enough break when he got the list before he could abandon the unconscious Archen in the Safari Zone, which netted him in a tidy profit for his trouble. And a chance encounter in the Safari Zone allowed him to find yet another Feebas, a Pokemon requested by an old friend, one he had run into in Black City only about a week ago. So now he was ready to do business with someone else.
Thomas stepped into the room where he typically sat at his desk in order to meet up with the clients. Whether it was negotiating the terms, or finalizing the deals in question, this is where Thomas typically made his money. And for once, his smile wasn't a fake one, he was actually happy to see this person after such a long time.
As always, Thomas was dressed up in his suit and tie, a chair was ready for Izumi to sit in. And inside of a small, but spacious fish tank swam the Feebas, who had recovered from the battle nicely, and didn't look to be too broken up about her capture or subsequent sale at the hands of Thomas.

She could only stare in wonder at the address that he’d given her—it just happened to be in a high-class building; and unfortunately she didn’t have her best clothing with her—all she had was her jacket and her usual set of clothes (all other shred of clothing was in a backpack she carried around, but that was only when she was travelling between regions). She sighed, as she quickly hunted through said backpack for a better-looking jacket than the one she usually wore, and finally managed to fish one jacket that didn’t look so crumpled and frayed (she did her own laundry when she could, what other choice did she have) and finally found herself at the address and walked in—where she was led to a waiting area, and then finally called out of it some moments later. How he managed to get these digs I will never understand… she thought as she allowed herself to be escorted into Thomas’ “inner sanctum”.
After the door clicked closed she then sat herself in the only available chair—and saw the tank where there was that ugly, weird-looking thing swimming around of its own volition—and could only crack a grin at this point—she knew that Feebas were native to her region but were extremely hard to encounter, given that almost half of the Hoenn region was made up of water. “Tom,” she began, calling him by the ‘friendly’ nickname she’d given him in their youth, while letting her legs stretch out in front of her—“Nice catch you got there,” she nodded, gesturing with her head towards the tank. “So, how long did it take for you to find this one, anyway?” she asked in an off-hand manner—if but to hear the exact escapade of what had happened.

Thomas smile returned as he saw his friend enter his area. Thomas didn't mind being called Tom, since it really wasn't an insulting name, not like some of the nicknames he had been given around Lilycove as a kid. Thomas grinned at the compliment he got on the Feebas. She asked him how he managed to capture the thing, understanding why she would ask. As someone who also came from Hoenn, and having done his research, he knew how hard it was to find a Feebas, and how valuable they were, especially as Milotic.
"This is the second one I've captured, actually, in Lake Verity of all places.", he told her. Which was funny, considering that Feebas was supposed to be even harder to find in Sinnoh than it was in Hoenn. But somehow, Thomas managed to find two in the same place in only a span of three visits, both at the ends of his first and third visits respectively.
"And I've got to tell you, she's a hardy little thing. Took two Discharges and an Electroweb to take her down, even though she was soaking wet at the time, and as a fish, obviously wouldn't care for being shocked. And the fact that she made such a fast and clean recovery from the battle also tells something of what a tough little gal she is.", Thomas told Izumi, grinning about the battle, despite the failed capture.
"If she's this sturdy as a Feebas, I imagine that she'll make one durable Milotic....", he mused out loud.

“Verity… that’s in Sinnoh, right?” she inquired, looking at the fish swimming around in the tank, first staring at him, then looking at her in turn, wondering just what the hell was going on. She then continued with, “That’s ironic… it appears they’re more common in Sinnoh than in our home region,” she added, unable to resist a chuckle or two. At the mention of just how…tenacious this little one was, her eyes widened in wonder, and her gaze turned to one of almost reverence towards the unsuspecting fish that was now swimming to the top, then back to the bottom, of the aquarium. “You know as much as I do how prized Milotic are, no matter what region they come from… they’re sturdy as hell too, which I like—quite surprising for most Water-type that can get wiped out by one Thunderbolt if the setup’s right, but apparently that does not apply to her at all…” she trailed off, her gaze following the fish while it swam.
It was as if it could sense that the girl that was now giving it this look was sizing her up—even if Feebas were butt-ugly, the moment they evolved was when they showed their true colors. And her mind was finally brought back to the transaction. “So… since you went through all the trouble of getting this little one for me… how’s 20 dots sound for the price for her?” she said, presenting her ‘negotiation cards’ on the table. The grin on her face grew wider as her mind registered that this Feebas was a female—just exactly what she wanted. Apparently Izumi had a gender bias with some of the ‘mons on her wish list—and more than half of said wish list consisted of female ‘mons. She then reached into her pocket and quickly did a head count as her hands shifted around, the coins jingling ever so lightly whenever they were shifted and moved around inside her pocket.

Thomas nodded to confirm that Verity was in the Sinnoh Region. When she mentioned the idea that Feebas was more common in Sinnoh than it was in Hoenn, Thomas smirked. "From what I've heard, they're supposed to be even harder to find in Sinnoh than they are in Hoenn. But then again, I managed to get two in a row, so I'm either stupidly lucky, or that's a crock of shit.", Thomas told her with a chuckle.
Thomas watched her patiently as she sized up the Feebas swimming around in the tank. Once she finally made up her mind, and set the initial price at twenty dots, Thomas smiled. Frankly, twenty dots was a very good price by his standards, and was definitely around the range for that sort of Pokemon.
"Twenty dots? Sounds like a deal to me.", he told Izumi.
The trainer and businessman waited for his friend to fish out the coins from her pocket. Meanwhile, he got out the Pokeball reserved for the Feebas out from under the desk, ready to contain his friend's newest Pokemon for her.

“I believe it’s the former—luck that good is extremely hard to come by, considering the circumstances that surround how you’ve gotten hold of the Feebas,” she said with another smirk—she was glad he’d noticed her jibe about Feebas being hellishly rare in Hoenn as compared to Sinnoh. “I haven’t had much luck catching stuff yet, but soon, you’ll see my dream teams come to life. This little Feebas will be a very solid anchor to my team,” she added with a nod as she finally fished out the necessary money needed for the transaction to be completed, and counted out exactly twenty Dots from her own on-hand cash; and slid it across the table. Strange this money doesn’t come in paper bills, it’s always in coins. Coins are heavy… she thought as she waited for him to accept the payment; and then she realized that she had something more to say;
“If you want… I can go hunting for you as well—I’m going to hang around the other regions for a while, and if you have any special requests, I can catch them for you—just like catching this Feebas for me. Is that a good setup? We can both help each other out… oh, and here’s my number if in case you need to get in touch,” she added, quickly reaching for her battered notepad and turning to a page, before digging around in her jacket pocket ad finding a battered, well-worn, abused-looking pen. She quickly wrote out her mobile number and slid the paper across the table as well; it was much easier to keep in contact via mobile communications as of late.

Thomas smirked back at Izumi as she responded to his statement about how hard it was to find a Feebas. Granted, Thomas found two before he could even find an Azurill, a Pokemon he had yet to find. Perhaps he just had an extremely odd stroke of luck himself, being able to find what others wanted or needed, while hardly being able to find what he wanted himself.
"In any case, it's still damn good for business.", he told Izumi. Once she had the payment out, Thomas accepted it, placing it into a sort of cash resister setup he had out on his desk for transactions such as this.
Before Thomas could get the Pokemon for her, she offered to help him get Pokemon of his own. "Currently, I'm on the hunt for an Azurill. If you could find one, I'd either buy it from you, or trade you something you'd like. Either way, here's my number, just in case you either find something, or think of something you need.", he told her as he handed her a card containing his cell phone number.
The brown-haired teenager then got out of his chair, and whistled to the Feebas while he held the Pokeball over the tank. Immediately, the Feebas splashed out of the tank, and tapped up against the button of the Pokeball, containing herself within it. He then handed the Feebas over to Izumi.
"I know I don't have to tell you this, but take good care of her, Izumi.", he told her.

“An Azurill… another ‘mon that originally appeared in our home region. If I find one, I’ll let you know right away, thanks for giving me your number as well,” she began, taking the calling card that had been handed to her, along with the Feebas that was now legitimately and officially hers. “If you need anything else, let me know—be it a call, a wild ‘mon you’re looking for, or just whatever you want in general,” she added with a chuckle—she was liking the way her ‘wild Pokemon Catching for Hire’ thing was turning out. Now that she’d also affiliated with three Breeders at the moment, it would be loads easier to get her own team expanded… or look for particular ‘mons that she needed but were not within her capacity to find.
“Of course, I’ll take care of her like everyone else is on my team—fair’s fair. But thanks for the heads-up,” she ended, turning around and making to leave the room—but not before stopping before she reached the door, and gave him a bow. “I’ll drop by whenever I find out something that would interest you, at any rate.”
And with that, she let herself out of the room; happy with her purchase—and now one step closer to forming a strong, core team. of course, raising this Feebas would take a lot of time—as they shared some similarities with Magikarp. They may start out ugly; but given time and proper care—would turn into a thing of beauty… and power.
