As of late, Josh and Yumi had stepped up their training sessions. Single Battles, Double Battles, Triple Battles, even three-way battles with Izumi involved. Josh had his motivations for stepping up, of course. Richissime. Those machines that could be placed near their home at any time... The fact he didn't trust Team Aqua whatsoever... Knowing that one mistake could cost him his Pokemon if he wasn't careful, like the situation with Fawkes in the icy caverns... He had to train. Train himself. Train his Pokemon. From the smallest of them, to the biggest. They all needed to be ready. No matter how big, no matter how small, first evo, second evo, final evo. It didn't matter.
Josh took a breath as he stepped out into the open fields just down the "road" from his home, the ranch. Yumi knew to meet him out here just after they'd eaten. Josh had finished up quickly and gone out to just... Gaze at the area for a little while, get a feel for their "arena" of sorts.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
With a meeting to get to with her ever loved training buddy Josh, Yumi decided to give her new flyer a bit of a test run. More stable than rodrigez, and nearly just as fast, Yumi hopped aboard her Pidgeot Charlotte and took to the skies above the wilds, making good time towards josh's ranch. Still, Yumi had to truly test out what her new flyer could do, and as she spotted the blonde down on ground level with her keen eyes, Yumi couldn't help but give a soft giggle, wondering if what she was about to pull would catch Josh's attention down on the ground.
"Alright char-char. Let's see what you can do with this..." The keystone of her bracelet showing the typical shine of a mega evolution, the matching stone upon the anklet of the pidgeot began to shine in response. Much like her other pokemon, the bird was coated in the energy of it's closes element, a spiralling white wind coating the toy of them in an impossibly thick sphere, to the point the air was so distorted nothing could be seen through it. As if to almost cath the blonde's attention, the sphere exploded with a sonic boom as Charlotte immediately accelerated to a near impossible level of speed, forcing Yumi to hold on tight lest she suddenly take a thousand foot drop at a hundred miles per hour.
"WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!~"
Dropping down into a dive a fair distance from Josh, the bird waited right up until the last moment to turn, showing fare more skill than the noivern Yumi typically rode, spreading out her wings and flying at max sped right past the blonde, only to loop back and throw out her wings, a strong gust blowing in Josh's face as the pidgeot came to a halt, Yumi hopping off of it's back as it was still flapping it's wings to slow itself down, finally coming to a halt and standing tall with her chest puffeout beside her trainer, Yumi's hair still messed up to all hell thanks to the high speed drop.
"Heh...heh...s-sorry about that just...woo...first time trying that..."

It seems he wasn't the only one who decided to show up at this time though. Before Josh knew what happened, he could hear some kind of... Sonic boom? When he looked over, he was barely able to keep up with the speed of Yumi's Mega Pidgeot as it would zoom past him, blowing a current of wind in his face as he tried to keep from flying off the ground from how strong the gusts of wind were. Josh took a breath once the gusts would cease, and he would look over at Yumi, once her Pidgeot had gone to a halt. He would raise an eyebrow as he looked over the Pidgeot, and smirked once Yumi came down. He would walk over, shaking his head and chuckling.
"Show off" Josh would tease, nudging Yumi playfully and messing with her hair even more with a playful noogie. "So Pidgeot has a mega form as well, huh? I'm sure Ace would love that, whenever I find the stone" He would observe as he looked the Pidgeot over.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi just gave a chuckle as she shoved Josh away, nearly toppling over herself as she still felt a bit dizzy from the fast decent, taking a second to steady herself as giggles still flowed from her. "Oh hush, it was my first time trying it out, so i thought I'd at least take 'er for a run." The Pidgeot gave a confident caw in response, confirming that it was indeed her first time taking her more elegant form for a run. "Besides, I bet even you're glad to see it. Afterall you get to know a new mega form, and let's face it, that was awesome!~"
With another giggle Yumi gave her Pidgeot a quick pat, the bird nodding and taking to the air, making sure she was used to flying in her new form as Yumi stayed on the ground with the remainded of her pokemon belt. "So, what's the plan this time? Triple battles? Double battles?"
Post by Josh Dragomir on May 28, 2015 19:50:16 GMT -5
He would hold an arm out when Yumi nearly toppled over, just helping keep her steady best he could. What kind of gentleman would he be if he didn't, right? He smirked a bit and waited for the end of Yumi's giggle fit. "Well, you could have given me a bit of warning before you near damn well bowled me over, huh?" The blonde would tease with a playful gentle punch to the arm. He smirked when she remarked about the mega form. "Yeah, I suppose. It just makes me want to see Ace in that form though. He was one of my first Pokemon after all. Vulcan was first, Lightning was second, Ace was third" HE would add.
When she asked him about ideas, he'd chuckle. "Yeah, I have one. Come with me" He said as he would lead her to the ranch, and over to a large lake with lily pads on it, big enough for Pokemon to hop onto. "I figured that we could train some water Pokemon here, if you'd like. On the lake" He'd reveal.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Give you some warning?" Yumi just had to chuckle, rolling her eyes as she looked up to spot her mega bird flying through the sky, cutting apart the clouds above as if she was using them for target practice. "Geeze, I coulda used some warning myself. I mean, whoulda thought she'd end up going faster than my Noivern. Nothing coulda prepared me for that."
Following behind Josh curiously, Yumi wasn't quite sure what was going on till they got close to the lake. Already Yumi was glad that she had some water viable pokemon with her today. On impulse before Josh even finished talking she was circling round to the other side of the small lake, afterall it was just habit for her to face her opponent, even when it was a buddy like Josh. "Oh I think I can work with this!~" Skidding to a halt at the other side of the small lake, Yumi unlatched two of her pokeballs, tossing them up and releasing her water and dragon type pokemon, clauncher and dragonair to be specific. Milos and Maria were ready to fight, and they were definately excited to be doing it in water for a change.

"Yes, you could have given me some warning" He would tease with a smirk crossing his lips. "I mean, Yummi, you were making it change to its Mega Form, how did you NOT know it was going to get much faster?" He would remark, with a raise of the brow. "You should have at least known what you were getting into with that, right? I mean, the landing was nice. You just near bowled me over" He teased, messing with her hair a bit before leading her to the lake.
Josh watched as Yumi would walk around the lake while he did the explaining for the plans. After all that though, Yumi at the very least seemed thrilled about the arrangement. He watched then, as she would take her place at the other end of the lake and send out two Pokemon. A Clauncher and a.... Dragonair?
Josh blinked. He did say water Pokemon... But eh. Dragonair was water based, he supposed. He supposed he could let it fly. "Alright then!" He said as he let out two Pokemon of his own. "Come on out, Temonis! Trooper!" He would call as he let out a Skrelp, who would land in the water, and a Corphish, who landed on one of the lily pads. "Corphish Phish Phish Cor!" Trooper would exclaim as he looked around excitedly at this interesting battle environment. The Skrelp didn't respond, just silently prepared himself for battle.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi tilted her head as she spotted the odd look Josh gave her Dragonair. It was still a water based poke right? And this was just a chance to test them in water afterall. Well whatever the case he didn't seem to have too much of an issue with it, so the battle would likely continue. The sight of a corphish was an interesting one, afterall she'd recently bred one she was planning on training soon herself, so it would be interesting to see what it was capable of...
"Alright Josh, let's do this. Maria, into the water, Milos, onto the pads." The two pokemon took their respective positions, the dragonair slipping from the edge of the pool and into the water without even disturbing the surface, meanwhile Milos leaped towards one of the lillypads, already looking between the two opponents, the one beneath the waves and the one above. Yumi was quick to realize that there was the small issue of Maria being unable to hear her ordrs, but it would porbably work out. Afterall Maria was a smart dragonair, so Yumi didn't doubt it's ability to battle on it's own. "Milos! Target that one under the water!" A litle confused by the command, Milos soon realized the one move in his arsenal that would be great in this situation, pointing his own large claw down at the water, firing off a barrage of aura spheres into the water aimed towards the skrelp. Seeing the underwater pokemon being attacked, Maria knew her own attack was to strike one one on the lillypad, dragon dancing twice through the water, before dragon rushing the bottom of the lillypad.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Jun 1, 2015 23:58:03 GMT -5
Dragonair.... Wasn't exactly a Water Type, Josh thought. But again, it was a water based Pokemon. He supposed he could let this one pass, so he didn't voice anything on it. He hoped that it wouldn't give Yumi an unfair advantage. No point in trying to give either side an advantage since the ones they were trying to benefit, the Pokemon, wouldn't benefit whatsoever with one in place. Whatever the case, it was time to get rolling!
The Corphish and Skrelp were already in their respective place on the pads, and in the water, so they simply waited until Yumi and her Pokemon were ready. Josh knew that his Skrelp might have trouble hearing him as well, but he trusted Temonis to be able to handle himself if need be. His focus would likely be based around the Corphish while the other two battled below water themselves. He doubted that her Dragonair could hear much better. But he'd still try to command what he could.
And thus, the battle had begun. Yumi's Clauncher would start firing Aura Spheres into the water toward the Skrelp. Josh had to admit, it was a smart swerve. But the Clauncher would weave through the water with ease, dodging the spheres best he could. Josh saw what was going on, of course. Water went for above water, above water went for underwater. "Temonis, use Dragon Pulse on Clauncher!" Josh would call to the Skrelp, who would unleash a blast of draconic energy toward the Clauncher above the water from below, managing to hear Josh's commands so far. As for Trooper... Josh knew that the Dragonair attacking was inevitable now that he saw Yumi's strategy. And as he saw the Dragonair gracefully moving toward Trooper's pad... "Jump!" Josh would call as Trooper would leap into the air just before Dragonair would Dragon Rush the pad. "Now, use Crabhammer on Dragonair!" Josh would exclaim. "Corphish-COOOOORRRR!" Trooper let out as he would try to being his big meaty claw down on Dragonair while it was out of the water from the dragon rush.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Tilting her head at that last odd look from Josh as he looked at her dragonair, Yumi just wondered what musta been up. Maybe he was hoping for a water type only fight? Whatever the case Maria still needed some training, and Yumi had already begun the fight. Watching Josh's dodges, Yumi had to say she was surprised by the agile skills of the pokemon before her, having never really experienced any water types other than the sharpedo she once trained, or more land based ones like marshtomp and blastoise.
Still, she had to try with what she had. With Dragonair still in the air from her dragon rush, Yumi had to act fast. "Maria, aqua tail!" The female dragon cave a gentle cry as it curled it's body mid air, meeting the crabhammer with a strong aqua tail before diving back into the water, getting her bearings and looking around, possibly switching targets to Yumi's assumption.
Meanwhile, clauncher had to have the same idea. Lobster versus lobster, he rushed through the air with a stream of water using aqua jet after the clauncher, dodging the dragon pulse and striking the crawdaunt whereever it went with his own crabhammer, maria beneatht he water once more and trying to target the skrelp with her dragon rush this time.

Well, he supposed it could be worse. She could be like Izumi getting more and more competitive in spars and using cheap tactics to get the upper hand in their sessions. Regardless, it was time to get rolling! Luckily for Josh, he had spent time training a good array of water type Pokemon, and knew how to use them well. Hopefully, this would keep them even.
Yumi's defense was a good, he could say that. So now it had become Dragon VS Dragon, Lobster VS Lobster. Mono E Mono. Fair enough. Yumi's Dragonair had managed to deflect Trooper's Crabhammer, while Temonis's Dragon Pulse was dodged. Josh had to make sure to keep his eyes both to the water, and to above it on the lily pads at the same time. "Get ready, Trooper! Use Crabhammer to block it!" Josh would call as Trooper would turn around, just in time to use his own Crabhammer to meet Clauncher's. "One more!" He called as he would use his other arm to throw a second Crabhammer the Clauncher's way, double time.
Of course, Josh wasn't going to let Yumi's Dragonair take advantage. "Temonis! Above water!" Josh called to the Skrelp, who would leap out of the water and high into the air, hoping the Dragonair would give chase with its Dragon Rush. Once he was out of range of the attack, Josh would call "Sludge Bomb!" To Temonis as the Skrelp launched a Sludge Bomb toward the Dragonair, whether it was in the water or out.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Geeze, never a bore with you huh? Guess I'll have to pump up my game here won't I blondie?" Yumi gave a slight grin, despite the praise she was giving her opponent, she gave that same smile she always would before she was about to turn the tide of battle, and ooooh boy, did she know how to change it round this time! "Milos! Keep up with that corphish then retreat!"
The blue crab gave a quick nod, meeting the next crab hammer with one of his own, the force of the collision giving him plenty room to stagger back, landing on a lillypad a fair distance from the other crab. Meanwhile Yumi's dragonair, following the other dragon to be, only just surfaced when her ears were met with a command from Yumi. "Extreme speed! Slip beneath it!" Using the skill she had known from birth, Maria suddenly slipped accross the surface of the water, whipping her body left and right, spitting up water right and left as she seemed to defy logic and actually "run" along the water's surface, or slither as the case may be.
"Now! Quick and precise, thats the game!"
Knowing full well what that order meant for them individually, both pokemon made their strike. Quicker on the draw, the dragonair that had avoided the sludge bomb quickly leaped from the water's surface, merely touching the surface of a lillypad before seeming to vanish entirely, her extreme speed leading her to re-appear behind the hovering poison type. The poison type was in the air, and in doing so, was highly out of its element. Still under the effect of extreme speed, her body whipped out quickly, slamming down on the back of the poison type if it did not attempt to dodge, not that it could, facing such a display of speed and strength.
Meanwhile, precision was more Milos' game. Opening his claw, a blue sphere formed and aimed only for the crawdaunt, from which a volley of smaller blue spheres fired in a cone outward. Yumi had to wonder if Josh could meet her attack this time.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Jul 26, 2015 20:22:57 GMT -5
"Yumi, Yumi, when the both of us are around, nothing's ever boring~" The blonde would tease with a playful grin, before nodding in agreement. "I suppose it 'is' time to step up our game, aye? Let's just see what we can do then!" Josh would respond, seeming pumped up for this battle! He needed his fire lit, and if anyone would be able to light that fire under him, it would be the fire-headed Trainer in front of him! He knew Yumi was up to stepping up her game, he was just going to have to as well if he had any hope of possibly matching the redhead. If not, he'd fall behind and this wouldn't be any fun anymore!
The twin crabhammers would send both crabs flying back, though Josh was anticipating this the moment that the attacks were called. Knowing Yumi, either the force would send both back, or it'd send one - probably his own - back. The most likely, of course, was both, and he seemed to be correct in that sentiment. Meanwhile, her Dragonair had used Extremespeed, an interesting move for a Dragonair, and a rare one indeed. Great, this wouldn't be easy.
Josh watched the dragonair carefully, knowing it'd be looking for a sneak attack if it was using that move. "Wait for it, Temonis!" Josh would call as the Skrelp would relax in the air, letting itself fall but keeping its senses alert. "Ready.... Now!" Josh would call at the last moment, and the Skrelp would just barely manage to avoid the attack from the Dragonair, landing in the water and back in its element.
Meanwhile, Yumi had her other Pokemon fire blue spheres at Trooper, and he took a deep breath. "Use Protect!" Josh would call as the Corphish would activate a force field to protect itself. "Once it stops firing, use Crabhammer again!" He would add. The Corphish would wait out for it to stop firing before charging through the air, and trying to slam its claw into the other crab. Meanwhile, Josh had time for just one more attack in the time span, and decided to call "Another Sludge Bomb, Temonis!" To the Skrelp, who fired off another stinkin bomb at the Dragonair from its safe point in the water.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Arceus, do you ever let up Josh? Don't think I've ever met someone who can hold out as long as you can...then again I'm hardly using my A-team here." With Dragonair somewhat busy hanging in the air, the Clauncher tilted his head, taking that comment as an insult and giving Yumi a glare that told her she should probably take that back quickly. "Hey you guys are amazing but you both know Ko-ken and Enzo are all in the big league." The Clauncher didn't seem to have much to say against that, shrugging and turning his eyes back to the battle, bringing a little chuckle from the red head as she examined the pond, getting ready to respond to the batle at hand.
"Alright Maria! take on that sludge bomb head on!"
Maria seemed a little apprehensive at first, but soon enough, her dragon aura pulsed around her as she used her dragon rush to take the sludgebom head on. The poison sludge clung to her body, but before it could sink beneath her skin she hit the water hard, the force of entering the pond sending the poison off of her body in an instant. "Clauncher! Crabhammer match!"
With the more stable footing this time, the Clauncher remained in place, slamming his claw into that of his opponent, trying his best to send the other one flying back this time as he maintained his place on the lillypad, the plant nearly sinking under the force of the collision. "Now the two of you, focus on the Corphish!"
A little surprised by the change of tactics, but still ready to act, the two pokemon used the best move for the job. Ignoring the pokemon beneath the water, the Clauncher rushed forward with an aqua jet at the corphish. Hit or miss, the Dragonair would move to wherever the Corphish had ended up after the assault, using her extreme speed to deliver a solid strike.
