nineteen - twenty one i tried to write about your eyes but i ran out of cliches, i tried to say you plainly but there wasn’t enough truth, whoever invented this language didn’t anticipate you. + @notag + checking out the ruins + 425 words + | So it was probably pretty stupid of him to actually go to these ruins alone but after the last bit of human interaction being nothing but arguing and yelling he found himself needed some time away from actual people and a little space between him and the gym. A no-named trainer had tried to destroy part of his maze whenever he couldn't find the way out and upon being escorted out and told never to return he really had to wonder why he kept the gym open at all. That thought of course was kind of ridiculous since he knew that being a gym leader had its responsibilities and he couldn't just knock them because someone decided to get rowdy. They really hadn't even managed to do any real damage except for one of the walls needing repair. So it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. But now he was here, with Orlais' tucked into his jacket pocket and looking out onto the cave they were traveling in.
To be honest it wasn't that bad. Sure it was damp and musky but that didn't mean that he couldn't internally complain about how dark it was and about how the earthy smell was different than the one he was used to. The Pokemon he brought along for the ride didn't really seem too bothered by the whole thing though. In fact the Joltik seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. Making a chittering, excited noise whenever they entered and now whenever they turned a corner. Joltik's liked caves like this for some reason that Garrus would never be able to put his finger on. It wasn't like he minded though. The company of someone who enjoyed this place made it a little more bearable as he looked for something that was worth taking back to the gym. He'd heard rumors that people had found lots of things that were interesting around here and he wanted to see if he would have the same sort of luck.
He wasn't expecting to but that didn't mean he couldn't at least have a little hope. Then again his luck had never really been that good. Pushing his glasses back up where they belonged he tried to keep scanning the ground and walls for things that might be useful. "Orlais if you see anything make sure you point it out." The Joltik glowed a little bit in response, letting off a light electrical charge to let Garrus know that he understood exactly what he was saying. | © seadra of gs |

nineteen - twenty one i tried to write about your eyes but i ran out of cliches, i tried to say you plainly but there wasn’t enough truth, whoever invented this language didn’t anticipate you. + @notag + claiming heracronite + 475 words + | It took awhile for the pair to find anything even remotely interesting and mostly those were just plain old rocks that Orlais had decided he needed, picking up one and then discarding it whenever he found something nicer. To be honest Garrus was pretty sure that whoever told him to come here had just been pulling his leg about finding rare and important things and as much as he liked that he was out of the gym for a little bit he was really starting to think this entire trip was going to be useless. That was until he heard Orlais drop yet another rock and let out an excited squeak meaning that he'd found a different one to catch his eye. The Bug trainer stopped as Orlais began to roll the round object towards him slowly as not to somehow damage it. Bending down he was actually rather astounded that they'd found something other than grey rocks and the occasional weird looking mushroom. Not that he even knew what it was really. To him it was just a shining marble like ball that his Pokemon had managed to find.
"How about we head back now? After all we're probably not going to find anything better than this right now." After all they had been in there awhile. Bending down he picked up the Joltik and the shining stone he'd found and tucked them both back his front pocket. If it kept the bug Pokemon from running off he didn't mind that it looked a bit strange to people who didn't know he was hauling around a Pokemon in there. At least the entire trip had mostly gone off without any sort of incident and it had given him time to cool his head a little bit. Now he was ready to go back to the gym, clean up and maybe settle down for the rest of the evening with a book and his bed. Not a bad way to finish off a day that started horrible in his mind. All he needed to do was figure out which book he actually wanted to pick up and read. It was getting harder for him to find books that caught his interest and he knew when that happened he was headed for a downward spiral towards minor or even major depression.
Which was always the worst thing to have to deal with when you had people banging on your door day after day because they wanted to beat the shit out of your Pokemon. And all fora stupid piece of metal shaped like a beetle too. Didn't they have anything better to do? Couldn't they just go bond with their Pokemon for a bit before automatically assuming that they were battle ready? But that wasn't really his decision since it was other people's Pokemon now was it? | © seadra of gs |
