For lack of a better term, Izumi had been pretty much walled at that point in time. After seeing a sudden flurry of snow used to counter (and refract) the flash of light she’d thrown earlier, rendering it ineffective, she knew that she would have to get a little creative in terms of what to do next. She was about to address the problem when she saw a flurry of movement; the Christmas Tree was coming in up close and personal for an attack!
She barely made out the faint sign of what appeared to be Swords Dance (since Josh tended to favor that for Fawkes way too often) and knew that the upcoming thing was something she’d already seen up-close and personal; with the way it had been boosted, there was no other thing for it. “Ara! Tank the hit; then attempt to retaliate with Flame Charge, and then follow up with a Smokescreen before backing away! We need to gain some ground!” she began; hoping for the best.
Once the Typhlosion had heard his marching orders, there was nothing to it—so in defense, he then raised his arms and skidded backwards as the Aerial Ace pummeled him; but he didn’t go over yet. In response to that, the mane of flames on his back then began to burn brighter, before shrouding his body in flames and then charging forward—at the same time, she knew that his Speed would go up, even if by a bit.
Whether or not the literally blazing, fire-cloaked Typho would make the hit, he then proceeded to follow up by suddenly kicking up a cloud of smoke; hopefully to disorient the Christmas Tree Sceptile while he was at it; and once he’d done so, proceeded to dash backwards, closer to where the Gardevoir was now waiting. She also knew that her Safeguard screen wasn’t going to last too long, and she had to act fast. I hope this goes down well with you, Momo! She thought as she then decided to take a risk.
“Calm your mind and relax yourself, girl!” she began, addressing the Gardevoir; who already knew what that statement meant at this point in time. “Then, let’s try out your other Fairy trick! Moonblast!” she added, pointing forward; and then felt a ripple of calm emanating from Momiji; who’d then used Calm Mind at that point in time. After that initial boost, the Gardevoir then held out her arms, before gathering a flash of lunar energy and sending it hurtling towards the opposite end of the field in the general direction of where Yumi’s Pokémon stood!
Typho takes the Aerial Ace hit; before retaliating with a Flame Charge and a Smokescreen!
Gardevoir uses Calm Mind; and unleashes a Moonblast!

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi was honestly a tad on edge. Despite having the advantage in several ways, Zuzu was easily holding her own, and the damage output of that Gardevoir was bound to be skyrocketing. As if that wasn't enough, it was able to dodge her main physical attack, and could easily withstand her main special attacks at this point too. Yumi had to focus on the physical, which left her supped up Baymax sadly in a support positon.
But thankfully, the sun was shining, and this battle wasn't over yet!
"You're doing well Izumi! How on earth you lost to those dolts back at the tower in Kalos I'll never know, but let's see if you're good enough to beat me huh?" Watching the battle carefully, the flame charge was Yumi's main threat, but despite being a fire type move, Yumi knew full well her Sceptile could handle such an attack. "Dodge the hit! You got the speed, use it!"
The Sceptile have a quick nod, turning to leap back from the flame charge, making his way quickly and soon enveloped by the thick smoke. This made synthesis a problem. but with his agility, the sceptile was out of the smoke, the thick cloud dissipating between the Typhlosion and Sceptile. With a short time to heal up, Terry was swift to use his first chance to heal, energy filling up every cell in his body from the bright sunlight, glaring down the Typhlosion when he was done.
"Baymax! No sleepin now bud, you got something headin for ya."
Baymax wasn't about to fall asleep by any respect, and chuckled at Yumi's teasing, raising up his arms to the incoming Moonblast. An attack of solar energy? What better to counter it with than a blast of solar energy. Spreading his arms once he was charged, the beam blasted out with an immense strength matching that of the moonblast, only to continue for a second strike, aimed straight for that Gardevoir, hopefully making it through.
"Come on Zuzu!" Not one to be a bad teacher, Yumi crossed her arms over her chest, giving her opponent advice as subtly as she could. "You gotta see here,. Who's the real threat to you? Who's easiest to take out? The moment you get me down to one pokemon is the moment you win, the question is just who do you pick?"

She heard something coming from Yumi’s side of the field; to which she simply shrugged her shoulders. “Call it bad luck of the draw, or bad choice of chosen Pokémon,” was all she had to answer—but over on the battlefield, things were starting to look a bit nasty—she thought that for sure she’d knocked the Christmas Tree down; but the flickering movement she’d spotted suggested otherwise. Seeing that there was another mountain in front of her—how was she going to climb it? She was sorely tempted to ask if switching was allowed; but decided not to; and stared out at the battlefield, trying to pick out the source and root of the problem. If I knock out the problem; then this is won… but then again… she thought, trying to pick her way through the field.
The blast of solar energy that had been used to block her Moonblast was tremendous—but there was another similar blast rocketing behind it! “Momo! Get out of the way! Teleport!” she shouted; watching as the second blast of solar energy was rocketing right where the Gardevoir stood—instead of hitting a tangible target, the second blast of Solarbeam had exploded and hit the grass; sending up clods of earth.
That forced her to cover her face due to the flying grit; and then she heard something from the other side of the field… was it a hint? She then remembered something—that her Safeguard was due to end on this turn (if she counted it right); but decided to take a risk all the same. She then looked around—she only spotted her Typhlosion on the field; and then got an idea. She wasn’t sure if it was going to work a second time, though… “Arashi! This is going to be a bit unorthodox… let’s try out your new move! Make your way forward; and then unload that new thing we’re going trying out! Eruption, do it twice! Momo, come out of wherever you are and combine a Dazzling Gleam with the Eruption that Ara’s launching!” she shouted; and quick as he’d heard his marching orders, the Typhlosion then rocketed forward before screeching to a halt near where he could assume was the ‘middle point’ of the battlefield and letting out a roar.
That roar caused the flames on the Typhlosion’s back to burn even more brightly than ever; before a sudden cascading deluge of flames had come pouring out, not just once; but twice! At the same moment; the Gardevoir then appeared right behind the Typhlosion; before sending out a sudden burst of dazzling energy; following the two cascading bursts of fire that were now heading towards where the two Grass-types stood. Take advantage of the weather… got to get that Safeguard up on the next turn, I hope that this isn’t going to blow up in my face! She thought, clenching her fists as she felt the heat that the two Eruption attacks were radiating all the way at where she stood!
Gardevoir dodges the second incoming Solarbeam with Teleport (as the first had deflected the Moonblast away); while Typhlosion unleashes Eruption in succession! The Gardevoir re-materializes and unloads another Dazzling Gleam after the Eruption flames have been released!

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi was on edge. The sunny day was turned against her slightly so she had to act fast. She could easily get Terry out of the range of the eruption, and Baymax could easily guard himself with a blizzard, but at the same time, yumi was being a teacher, she needed to demonstrate who the true threat was here...
"Baymax! On the defence! Blizzard!"
Nodding quickly, the big ice bad abomasnow rose up his arms, and not once, not twice, but thrice, blasted out his blizzard. It was a simple move, but it could handle everything placed before him. While Yumi herself never understood the science, it was always easier to cool an object than it was to heat it, so the first two uses were more than enough to deal with that eruption of flame, the cold winds not only cooling them, but blowing them out entirely. The third of course was sent for the gardevoir, enveloping her. Unlike the last time's however, this blizzard would likely hit home. In the past Yumi had used it to simple deflect the dazzling gleam, but now? She was using it straight on the offencive, still acting as a shield, but also as a sword!
"Now! In the chaos! Terry! Attack!"
Easily seeing Yumi's little plan, without his agility, terry just used the natural speed he'd built up to rush for the typhlosion. As things stood, that firey bugger was THERE biggest threat, even with the buffs the gardevoir had, so long as they could take out this fire type, they could use Sunny day without anymore worry. With an aerial ace, he slashed through again, hoping to get in the strike!

Izumi was hoping to end the entire debacle as soon as possible—however it was at this point she’d finally figured out what the ‘main problem’ was; it wasn’t the Sceptile who’d taken to rocketing around the entire field; it was the Abomasnow! The clenching of fists was something she’d been doing—because not only had her Eruptions been brought to a halt; they were frozen solid—and her Dazzling Gleam was now blocked! Oh, kamisama no haa, don’t tell me I have to bring the fight up-close and personal to them! This is going to be tres risky, but I have no other choice left! She thought; seeing that there were three instances of Blizzard heading their way; the first two were used to stop the Eruption in its tracks; while the third was used to not just block the flash of light; it was also headed right at the Gardevoir!
“Momo! Get your Safeguard up and use Heal Pulse on Arashi, only! Ara, counter that incoming Aerial Ace with Sunny Day, and a Flamethrower!” she shouted; clenching her fists harder than ever; she was running the risk of having her fingernails dig in, causing her palms to bleed—was he really that tense at this point? The battlefield was now a scene of messy chaos; as the Gardevoir quickly raised her hands to the sky again and recalled another veil that snapped into place; protecting herself and the Typhlosion from whatever status moves they would fling. Now that the Safeguard was in place, the Gardevoir concentrated; keeping the Typhlosion in her line of sight—while the Typho tanked the Aerial Ace—this was going to be the second and hopefully last time she’d have to tank that hit, it was really starting to hurt. The Fire-type felt his strength ebbing; before suddenly feeling something well up inside him—were his wounds being healed?
He felt…lighter; well, healthier would be a more appropriate term; and the flames on the Fire-type’s back flared out, before the sun suddenly blazed down again on the field; hopefully negating the incoming Blizzard that was headed towards the Gardevoir (as she’d remembered something that Blizzard’s hit rate would get even worse when Sunny Day was in effect on the field); and then quickly releasing a strong stream of flames; powered up by the Sunny Day overhead aimed at the Sceptile! If Izumi didn’t end this soon, it would turn to be a long match; and she didn’t like things to be dragged out for so long.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi felt like Izumi may have gotten the point she was trying to hint at, but at the same time, it would take Yumi a moment to realize if she was right or not. The end of safeguard and the end of sunny day would put both of them into a set up turn if she was right, Izumi would revitalize her safeguard and Yumi would have to bring her sunny day back up to keep her synthesis and solarbeam in play...
Or so she thought.
Wait! Is she...why is she...she knows I can use that too right!? Oh god girl learn how to choose your moves!
Frustrated by the fact she was furstrate, Yumi was holding her head as her mind went through a brief cycle of confusion before letting out a soft sigh, her hands resting on her knees before lifting her head back up to her opponent. This was still a battle, and in the end, despite what Yumi had offere for Izumi, it was still simply helping her train for the diciples of whatever master of mega knowledge there was in Nue.
"Looks like we gotta put this to a swift end guys. Terry! Dodge the flamethrower and head for the gardevoir. Baymax! Blizzard! We need to cover that Gardevoir's exits!"
Yumi knew full well how annoying a gardevoir could be, or any teleporter for that matter, so she needed to make sure to cover it's chances to escape. On her first order, Terry used his incredible speed to charge to the side, dodging the flamethrower and heading directly for the Gardevoir, his leaf blades crosed over his chest. With a final leap he attempted to use not only his incredible speed, but the boost of his aerial ace style to deliver a blow before the Gardevoir could escape. Even if it could, Baymax was ready, reaching up an arm and blowing the power of his blizzard through it, the chilly winds blowing over the field. Sure it wasn't as widespread as a hailstorm may let it be, but with it aimed at Gardevoir herself Yumi was pretty sure it would be hard to teleport out of both attacks.
"Now, before they get us into anything, Terry, revitalize the safeguard!"
Landing from his leap, wether the attack landed or not, a soft glow would move over moth the "christmas tree" and Baymax, covering them in safeguard once more.

Now that things were looking just a bit too desperate for the raven-haired girl, she could see that the field was now slowly but surely plunging into a state of chaos. The incoming Christmas Tree Sceptile was quick to use that same Aerial Ace again—to be honest, the Aerial Aces were getting kind of repetitive—at least from Izumi’s point of view. “Momiji, I can’t believe that I’m going to say this… but let’s try out that little trick shisho showed us! You know, the one he demo’d for us back in Lumiose!” she shouted; seeing that things were now starting to unravel, too fast! Since there was an incoming Blizzard courtesy of the Abomasnow, she knew that she had to get rid of at least one of the threats. “Ara, move forward and block that incoming Blizzard with your Flamethrower, full power!”
“Typhlooooooo!” she heard the gaunt bipedal Fire-type roar; the flames flashing from his mane as he dashed forward; before coming to a halt and then breathing in for a few seconds; and then unloading another brilliant stream of flames at the incoming hail storm of ice that were now trying to trap her Gardevoir into submission. Knowing that the Sunny Day slightly helped boost the power of Fire-type moves, she knew that the intense heat would melt the incoming hunk of shards that were now determined to knock out her Gardevoir; everything would be riding on this unusual maneuver that she’d seen her white-haired master show her; from one Gardevoir to another.
“Alright, let’s do it! Momiji! Dazzling Gleam and Teleport combination move!” she shouted, pointing at the Christmas Tree Sceptile. “NOW!” she added; seeing that the Sceptile was just about ready to make a break for it after the Aerial Ace had connected.
The Gardevoir, who was just about ready to tip over, steeled her resolve before quickly unloading a brilliant flash of light, boosted up due to all of the Calm Mind status increases she’d done several turns prior. At the same time the flash of intense light cut through the scene, the Gardy vanished; at the exact same time the flash bang-like grenade of light had gone off. The question was, where had she gone? The answer was clear; thankfully her shisho had informed her of the many utilitarian uses of Teleport during that little demonstration.
“Momiji! I know you can hear me! Unload your Dazzling Gleam right behind the Abomasnow!” she shouted, hoping to catch the female red-head with the unusual tactic! Knowing that her mistress had announced the intent, the space behind the Abomasnow rippled, revealing the battle-tired Gardevoir that then unleashed another blast of light, at point-blank range!
I noticed something, the big shrub of a tree is acting in the same way as my Arashi is. Only blocking. Will it move?! I hope not! I hope this works! She thought frantically, scanning the battlefield—it was truly a mess at that point. She knew that her Gardevoir was spent after that last maneuver; but who knows; she was riding on this slim hope, and that unusual combination technique that he’d shown her…

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi knew from the start her little duo wasn't the best equipped for double battles, especially with her own recent discovery that dazzling gleam was potentially one of the most powerful moves for such a situation. But this was all more about teaching Izumi to see her options, and while her main lesson hadn't perhaps been seen, Izumi was certainly about to pull something out of the bag, and Yumi was impressed nonetheless.
"BAYMAX! BLOCK!"
Seeing the beginnings of a dazzling gleam from the gardevoir, Yumi had to raise her defences. The Psychic type had been increasing it's attack so much that even the faintest shine of that attack would be enough to KO both of her pokemon. Immediately Baymax raised his visual wall of Blizzard, and Terry attempted to make a break for it, but even with his massively bolstered speed, he was far too close to the gardevoir after his own attack, and the day he could outspeed light itself would be the day the earth stopped spinning. The Blizzard soon faded, and unable to synthesize through the damage, the abomasnow spotted his friend KO'd with black marks over his back from the intense light. Ready to get some payback, the snowy giant cupped his hands, about to fire off a solarbeam, only to find his target had vanished.
Oddly enough, even as she saw it re-appear, Yumi smiled.
"Baymax! Bout face!"
The command to do a 180 heard, Baymax tried to move as quick as he could, but the gardevoir could easily outspeed him. he was taken in by the same fairy light that had beat his partner, and soon both grass types lay dizzy eyed on the ground, worn out and deserving one hell of a rest.
Both disappointed, and pleasantly surprised, Yumi returned her two pokemon, the red beams arching around the gardevoir in her path. "Well well well. That certainly came outta nowhere..."

Post by Izumi Yamamura on Mar 7, 2015 8:13:40 GMT -5
Izumi wasn’t exactly expecting their first attempt at the Teleporting tactics courtesy of her shisho Zerne to actually work; she saw two flashes of light emanate throughout the battlefield; and heard Yumi’s attempts to block; but was surprised to see, once the after images of bright light had faded from her retinas—that not just the Christmas Tree Sceptile, but even the bigger, shrubbier version of her Jack had fallen with a rather loud rumble on the grass! She then blinked once, twice—several times, just to make sure; was she seeing things right?! “Ara! Go catch Momo!” she said, pointing forward; and heard her Typhlosion roar out, “Graaaaaa!” before dashing forward, boosting himself with a Flame Charge!
The Flame Charge was to increase his travel speed—because the Gardevoir was literally on the verge of collapse; and the flames petered out once he was close enough to catch the exhausted Gardevoir, holding up the Embrace ‘mon as best as he could! “Thanks, Ara,” she called out, finally regaining her senses and chasing him across the field and quickly retrieving the pink, battered Love Ball and recalling the Gardevoir, who was now panting and gasping for air.
“Good job, girl. I’m sure Bunji would be so proud of you, wherever he is now,” she said softly, before popping the pink containment unit to full size and recalling the Gardy in a flash of red light, before shrinking it down again and dropping it down her pocket. Now that her Typhlosion was the only one left on the field, she then proceeded to give him a hearty chin scratch, which he responded to quite affectionately, before she blinked and then turned to face the female red-head once more.
“Erk, I never thought that strategy was going to work. He taught that to me… from one Gardevoir to another,” she remarked, indicating the last move she’d done. “Who knew that it was going to actually succeed; I left it all up to chance… so… uhmm,” she trailed off, evidently embarrassed before finally pulling the courage to ask her the question, “…how do you do it? I’ve seen you do your trick with your Blaziken in the tourney all the way back in Kanto. I was watching, and since then I’ve tried to figure out how it’s actually done. I know what these are,” she continued, pulling out her carrying case again and showing the redhead the contents briefly, “…but I’m missing the other half of the entire idea. The ‘execution’ itself, if you may,” she said, trying to choose her words carefully.
“As you already know, I already tried to challenge the Tower twice—first time, my Hydreigon got traumatized and only recently recovered; I did that alone. The second time I was with Josh, but then we were walled and backed into a corner… I’ve actually been on the fence of trying again, but… well, yeah. Can you please explain, and then show me how it’s done?” she ended, backing away some so that the red-head had enough space for the demonstration that would take place, if any.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi knew that part was coming, giving only a nervous chuckle as she rubbed her wrist that held the keystone bracelet she used for the little transformation. She'd promised to teach Izumi herself if she won, but the huge issue here was the fact that Yumi had never taught anyone personally. She was thinking to just Give Izumi the old book she used to keep herself up to date on all the mega stones she found, but at the same time that wouldn't be the best option. Yumi still needed to learn from the master's themselves, simply reading that tired old book would do absolutely nothing for Izumi.
"Well er...i did promise ya huh?" Looking over towards her blaziken, the firey bird saw the slight worry in Yumi's stance, confused as to why before realizing she never entirely understood her own end of the transformation. She knew there was always a part of her that had to accept it, but how EXACTLY she accepted it was incredibly hard for her to pinpoint, so much so she had yet to do so. With a small amount of confusion growing in her too, she stepped forward, crossing her arms over her feather coated chest. "Well er...the first thing you have to do is...." It was then Yumi got a small spark of inspiration, smiling to herself and then to Izumi.
"Hey! If you're wanting to do this you must have some idea what you're doing right?" Hopping over a little hopefully she raised her right hand, pointing to the braclet she wore and the small gem upon it. "How about one of these? I mean, that's the first thing you need, and ironically the most important. If you had one of these and say, and "ite" that fits one of your pokemon, it would be much easier to show you how it's done."
(Basically, Yumi's asking if you have a keystone, and to show her all your megastones so she can match one up to say, your gardvoir. That way she can show you and you can copy.)
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Mar 8, 2015 6:46:36 GMT -5
Izumi then watched with a rather confused look as she then saw what appeared to be a normally-colored Blaziken appear in a flash of red light, before stepping forward. Wait a second, so that is the normal color of a Blaziken? Because Zira’s the color of storm clouds, I’ve gotten used to her plumage and unusually-colored flames. So that’s their default coloration? Was the first train of thought that entered the raven-haired girl’s mind, before stepping back a few paces and watching as the redhead was a bit confused on how to show the secret; before getting an idea of her own.
Thankfully, she was the kind of girl who learned by watching an actual example; and once Yumi had shown her the bracelet where a rainbow-colored rock had been set into it; she then blinked, before nodding. “Why… yes, I have one of those. Actually I have an extra, but let me just get it…” she began, quickly rummaging through her carrying case and finally extracting her own rainbow-colored rock. I actually have DJ to thank for telling me what this is called, she continued to muse to herself as she then pulled out the Key Stone and held it in her right hand. “Yep, I got this one… and wait, let me check,” she continued, quickly scanning the marbles that she’d acquired so far.
Sorely tempted as she was to use Momiji for the practical demonstration, she knew that her Gardevoir needed some rest. It wasn’t until she caught sight of a particular marble did she remember she actually had one other with her that could also accomplish the task. “Oh, here… I have the one for Garchomp,” she began, plucking out the first-ever marble she’d found in the Kalosian Badlands long ago, palming it next to the rainbow-colored Key Stone in her right hand before gently closing the carrying case with a snap and tucking it away.
“Strangely, I know which rocks go to who, too. Worked part-time in the Stone Emporium at Vernal Avenue in Lumiose to get that info,” she added, before rummaging through the containment units she’d brought along with her and finally finding the lone Safari Ball amongst them.
“A-ha, here we go…” she remarked, popping it to full size and tossing it up, watching as a red flash of light then shot out and transformed into her Garchomp, Draken. As the Dragon-type looked around curiously, it then caught sight of the raven-haired girl and made a beeline for her, attempting to nuzzle his rather…pointy head under her hand! “Whoa, hey there, big guy,” she began, chuckling as she began to give the Garchomp a petting session. After several moments of affection, she then let the Garchomp straighten up, before she turned to face Yumi once more. “Okay, so… what happens next?” she inquired with another curious glint in her eye.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi gave a soft chuckle as the Garchomp made it's entrance, finding that it reminded her a hell of a lot of her own Garchomp, or rather GarchompS. The twins were so childish despite their intimidating size and species, it was sometimes surprising even to her how much they could act like little children. "Well looks like I'm not the only one with such a playful Garchomp." Giving a soft smile as she saw Izumi was ready, she gave a quick nod to her blaziken and the firey bird took another step forward. "Okay, well truth be told the art of turning this "on" so to speak is kinda hard to describe...it's more something you just know how to do."
Pointing to the Garchomp, Yumi made sure zuzu had everything in place before she tried to demonstrate herself. "First, make sure you're holding the keystone, and your Garchomp is holding his stone. They seem to be important for channeling the evolution." The red head would wait for Izumi to prepare before preparing herself, raising up her wrist that held the bracelet. "Now, the best way I can describe this is well...try and visualize a link between your stone and your Garchomp's, like an invisible thread." Already Yumi was feeling like her explanation was crap, it was a hard thing for her to put into words. Afterall by this point, it was just something she did without thinking. "This will only work if you have a strong bond with your pokemon, but judging from the nuzzle he just gave ya I think you got that covered."
With a deep breath, Yumi tried to slow down her own thoughts, trying to pinpoint everything she did to achieve mega evolution. "Now that invisible thread you imagined. Just try and visualize sending a charge through it, like a bit of yourself channeling towards your pokemon. It's filling their stone and the thread is getting stronger...and stronger..." Even now Tequill seemed to be burning a little, her feathers were ruffling and some even began to ignite. "until BOOM!" suddenly the blaziken was engulfed in flames, a piller of fire taking over her form, and quickly dissipating to reveal the mega blaziken beneath. "Mega evolution!"
Yumi gave a proud little chuckle before her eyes turned back to Izumi, hoping her own little path to working it was somehow helpful.

Izumi began to nod rather intently, following the demonstration step by step. Once Yumi had mentioned that the stone needed to be hanging somewhere on the Pokémon that was going to transform in question, she then chuckled a bit sheepishly before fishing out the carrying case again and clicking it open. Once she’d gotten the case open, she then began to rummage until she’d found a hidden compartment at the very bottom, before extracting some wire that she’d crammed into the small secret place.
“Ah, here we go, give me a bit,” she muttered, quickly biting the marble and balancing the Key Stone between two fingers as she closed the case once more and began to fashion a rudimentary wire bracelet, making sure that the Garchompite wasn’t going to slip as she wrapped the wire around it as securely as she could manage.
After petting Draken’s snout a few more times, she then gestured to one of his limbs, before asking softly, “Can you hold out one of your limbs for me? I just have to tie this down a bit. Don’t worry, it’s not dangerous,” she reassured the Dragon-type, as it was now looking at the weird thing that was now hanging from her other hand. Once she’d managed to fasten the wire bracelet around his limb (with several inches of wire to spare) she then remembered the rest of the commentary—to imagine a link between herself and her Pokémon. “A thread. A connection… that’s easy enough,” she muttered, remembering that she held up her own bracelet before pressing down on the stone.
Let’s get stronger, Draken. I know you can do it. We can do this. Let’s try, okay? She thought as she visualized the ‘thread’ in her mind’s eye; before looking over to where her Garchomp now stood, silent and waiting. “Let’s give this a whirl,” she said, focusing on that thread that was now thrumming in her mind’s eye, snaking across the ground and connecting itself to the marble that now hung from her Garchomp’s left ‘wrist’. At that same moment, she then pressed the rainbow-colored marble, before feeling a strange kind of power welling up within!
Only, instead of a turret of fire surrounding her Pokémon; it was a burst of draconic fire that had a swirl of sand mixed within. The sudden flash of power then enveloped her Garchomp; and over at where the Pokemon stood, he could feel his form changing shape! Instead of fighting, he then followed through with the burst of energy; feeling it surge up within him; and after the sudden burst of draconic fire and sand had faded, there stood… Draken; but his limbs weren’t looking the same as they were a few moments ago. There was now a ridge of orange extending from them; along with several more spikes erupting at certain points all over his body. The Garchomp then gave a rather surprised start, before letting out a roar that reverberated through the nearby vicinity.
“Whoa…” was all Izumi could mention, staring at the sight. She could tell that it was still Draken; although his form had changed—and there was a thrum of power running between the stone in her hands and the Garchomp that was now walking around, testing out the power welling up inside him. “Do they change that much physically, or no? Also… how do you, err… ‘turn it off’, if you may? Do they change back to normal after a certain time?” she asked, watching as the rather surprised Garchomp continued to walk around, before finally crossing his limbs and then letting out another roar of excitement.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi smiled brightly as she watched the garchomp transform. Her own dragons had done it in the past so the whole ordeal was nothing especially new, but the fact she was the one who taught Izumi this trick was filling her with a sense of pride, like she was actually competent at being a teacher of this little trick. When Izumi's next question hit her ears, it was hardly surprising either, afterall, maintaining a mega form put a minor strain on the trainer, so it wasn't something you wanted to have active beyond a single battle.
"Yeah that's the easy part don't worry. Ya know that feeling you got when you imagined the thread, like you're actually connected to your Garchomp now?" She tried her best to sound confident now. She tended to feel like that "thread" she was imagining was tugging at her, not enough to hurt or be uncomfortable, but it was noticeable. Odds were there was a better way to describe it, but it's how she visualized it. "Well all ya gotta do is severe the thread. It's sorta important the more that I think about it. A mega evolution is really reliant on the both of you being in top condition. If you or you're Garchomp feint, that severe's the link, and the mega evolution ends. Alternatively..." She pressed her two fingers lightly on the keystone in her bracelet. "Just visualize breaking the bond and...poof."
Breaking the link in her mind and feeling the "thread" she imagined unwind, the blaziken beside her reverted to it's normal form, a soft glow below that of a normal evolution enveloped the bird as it changed, much less flashy than the flames that came before. "Mega evolution over.~"

She could only stare and nod along with the explanation—there were apparently several ways on having them change back into normal. After the rather flashy demonstration of just tapping the Key Stone once more, she then blinked and watched as the blazing form of the Blaziken shrunk back down into what she recognized as the ‘normal’ form; and then knew that the entire trick was now complete.
“So, it’s either visualizing the thread getting strained, or just simply tapping the Key Stone again. Either that or one of us passing out due to overexertion… I’ll keep note of that. I don’t want to risk too much anyway. Also, we can only have one of them active at a time, right?” she concluded, just to confirm—because majority, if not all of the executions she’d seen where the Pokémon had changed form—there was just one who’d undergo the transformation.
In her mind’s eye, she then visualized the link of power suddenly snapping—but that was a bit too much, to say the least, and she then watched as her Garchomp continued to zip around in his lighter, seemingly faster form. “Hey, Drak, calm down,” she called out with a chuckle, watching her enthusiastic Dragon-type homing in on her before quickly pressing the rainbow-colored rock once more; and watching as the burst of draconic fire and sand swirled around the incoming Garchomp—a few moments later he was back to his normal shape and size; the orange protrusions and extra spikes had vanished from his form.
“So it’s not just him, it’s most of the ‘mons that have these shiny marbles—Mega Stones—that can change form, right? Charizard… Blaziken, Garchomp… I’m suspecting Gardevoir can do it as well,” she added, nodding as she then replaced her Key Stone back into its carrying case.
“Does the placeholder for the Key Stone have to be a bracelet, really? Or it can be just any old thing that I can wear?” she asked a few moments later, after giving her Garchomp another affectionate pet before recalling him back into his containment unit; the better to digest the information that she was now processing. “By the way… thanks for showing me the secret,” she added, before bowing in the redhead’s direction, a grin all over her face.
