elcome Adventurer to EPOCH! A Pokemon Sandbox Rp set in the original region of Nue. Everything you need to know will be in the Guidebook and PokeDex 101!
EPOCH uses the Manga and is built on the Original ideas suggested by our members.
We are more than just a Pokemon RP, we're a friendly community with a goal on being a memorable experience for those that look in.
Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. If you find yourself content with being an asshole EPOCH and its members will not tolerate you.
RULES
Understand We're All Human. Respect the staffers as well as your fellow members and guests. We all have flaws, tempers and quirks. Be patient with one another, but if issues involving other members come up please don’t just grin and bear it. Contact a staff member, informing them of what's going on so they can address and resolve the situation. The staff won't know what's bothering you unless you tell them.

Josh would nod for his Pokemon to follow as the woman would command her Gyarados to move on. The Gyarados (Who was surprisingly docile once the battle ended, and surprisingly easily able to get along with the Wartortle. It seemed the training had paid off) and Wartortle would nod in affirmative before swimming on opposing sides of her Gyarados, covering them from any threats. Josh hoped there wouldn't be anything else in their way, but somehow... He doubted they would be that lucky.
His mood had taken a more serious turn since the battle. Like a switch had gone off, the joking had stopped. The cheerfulness in his eyes was gone, and he simply stared ahead as the Gyarados swam, seeming to be looking out for potential threats. Perhaps pure survival instinct had kicked in? Ah, if only she knew. But, she was left in the dark. Maybe it was best she stayed that way.
He almost scoffed at her obvious attempted flattery. Improved? She'd only gotten a tiny taste of what Lightning had been able to do before, there wasn't much merit for her to say something like that. The words felt empty, as they probably were. He didn't answer with a joke, or a smile. Not even a crack about her beauty, her hips, or even the cane. Just a simple "Thank you, you as well".
He looked down curiously when he noticed the Pikachu on his shoulder was holding his arms out to him, seeming to want attention. His expression finally changed, to a faint smirk. The blonde would sit down, letting the Pikachu sit on his lap before he started scratching the fur on his head, then his chin. And then he started tickling Lightning as the Pikachu rolled on his lap, giggling and squealing from the affection, obviously loving every moment of the tickling. His attention was half focused here, half on surveying the territory... A mix between the serious lookout and the loving Trainer he was.
There was too much going on for Olivia to pay much attention to the young man behind her, she hadn't even heard his response to her praising. Surely just a grateful thank you if she was to guess. The storm was becoming more and more of an issue, the already harsh downpour had turned to biblical level rains, and while it didn't hamper the speed of her or Josh's pokemon, it definitely did not make it easy to see or hear.
It wasn't until Halie popped her head up from the depths of the sea beside Olivia, a look of worry etched on her face, that Olivia realized they were slowly being surrounded. The main issue, though, was Olivia couldn't tell what by. Wiping away the rain on her brow, she called out to her Dragonair, "Agility twist!" The dragon pokemon's majestic body began to glow as it circled around Olivia and company, speeding up until Halie was just a blur, and a cyclone began to form around them, temporarily clearing away the onslaught of rain. With Olivia in the eye of the storm, she saw what had been following them; a school of Carvanha led by a single Sharpedo. She cursed under her breath and looked to Eione, nodding as her antennae began to glow. Receiving the go ahead from her trainer, the Chinchou released a wave of electric energy from her body, utterly annihilating five of the Carvanah while also hitting the Sharpedo.
Olivia took the opportunity to toss an Ultraball and pokeball at the Sharpedo and one of the Carvanah, unknowing that one of the piranha pokemon had avoided the attack entirely... Halie, however, continued the twister, having watched the pokemon make it out and only hoped Olivia or the other trainer would notice it.

It seemed the odd couple had problems. Whether those would be solved later on remained to be seen, but right now, they had bigger problems. Before he knew it, her Dragonair had begun using Agility, twisting and causing a cyclone to begin to appear. Seeing the idea, Josh would call out another Pokemon. "Go, Gawain!" he said as he would send out his own Dragonair. "Gawain, use Agility and help out!" he said. The Dragonair would join Halie in the cyclone building, and soon enough it was evident what was going on. A school of Carvanha and a single Sharpedo were on the attack.
Noticing what Olivia had in mind, Josh would nod before he got to his feet. Joining Olivia once again, in sync with her he would call out to Lightning to use Thunderbolt on the Carvanha, to which the Pikachu obliged. Of course, what they hadn't expected was for the Carvanha to survive.
Bastilo would notice it, and the Wartortle would go right onto the attack. "Rapid Spin!" Josh called, as he realized where Bastilo was going. Bastilo would duck into his shell and allow himself to fly right at the Carvanha, who would be hit but would quickly go for the attack with Take Down, sending the withdrawn Wartortle back before it came out of it's shell. "Quick, use Rapid Spin again and shoot an Aqua Tail into that as well!" Josh commanded. "Tortle!" he let out as he would curl back into his shell, flying toward the Carvanha. This time, his tail would stick out and glow cyan, before the shell would crash into it, with the Aqua Tail hitting it over and over like it was part of a spinning top. Josh's outside the box strategies continued to be effective, though Josh was too late to stop the Carvanha from hitting Aqua Jet right after using Agility, sending him back once again. "Gah..." Josh muttered. "Alright, Bastilo! Use Water Pulse!" he said as the Wartortle would come out of his shell in mid-air, charging up a ball of water before sending it the way of the Carvanha, hitting it dead on. Josh would quickly throw the Pokeball at it.
While that was happening though... Josh noticed that Olivia's Sharpedo catch attempt had failed while she wasn't looking... And it was leaping out at her from behind!
"Olivia!" Josh suddenly cried out, taking off at a run across the Gyarados's back, tackling Olivia down just as the Sharpedo would barely fly over their heads. It had attempted to use Crunch on them, but would miss just barely thanks to Josh's sudden interference. "Hey, are you alright?" he managed to get out, looking down at Olivia, but didn't get a chance to wait for an answer as the Sharpedo would suddenly come back using a Skull Bash attack, straight for them. Josh gritted his teeth, bracing himself for impact before Bastilo would suddenly ram himself into the Sharpedo using Rapid Spin, sending them both into the water. "Gah... Bastilo!" Josh called out. "Pika-Pi!" Lightning cried out toward Josh as he rushed over to make sure his Trainer and Olivia were alright.
Suddenly, a burst of light could be seen underwater, something was evolving down there... They would be blinded by a bright light from the water, before a Blastoise would suddenly erupt from it once the light toned down. It was Bastilo! He'd evolved into a Blastoise!
"Alright, Bastilo!" Josh said, grinning wide. "Blastoise!" Bastilo let out, just barely dodging an attempted Crunch from the Sharpedo, who was also underwater. "Bastilo, use Skull Bash!" Josh suddenly called out. Bastilo would lower his head and then launch himself, ramming right into the Sharpedo and sending it back. "Finish it with Water Pulse!" he would call out. Bastilo would rub his head... Feeling the effects of the Sharpedo's ability, but would quickly charge up another Water Pulse as the Sharpedo tried to recover, sending it full speed across the water and hitting the Sharpedo dead on. It would fly back before hitting the water, on it's back. For good measure, Lightning would climb onto Josh's shoulder and use thunder. "Pika... CHUUUUU!" he suddenly let out as he would zap the Sharpedo, causing it to go limp for the moment.
Josh looked over at Olivia. "Hey, if you're going to catch it, might want to do it before it wakes up" he said, smirking a bit. He would then walk past her and head to check for the Carvanha he'd tried to catch. It was odd... Josh could very well have stolen the catch right under Olivia if he wanted to. But he didn't, instead opting for the lesser form of Carvanha. Was it just an act of kindness, or perhaps did he just prefer to raise Pokemon himself?
Unfortunately, the evolved shark pokemon was able to tail slap her ultraball away and stopped the capture. Not a huge deal, though, considering Olivia was able to capture the preevolved pokemon. It wouldn't be too much trouble to evolve it. She watched as Josh took care of the rest, one of his pokemon even evolved from the fight, and tried to joke around, but as the storm continued to worsen a look of worry formed on her face. They needed to get to the damned ship soon or the storm would be too strong for them to get through, even with all the pokemon accompanying them. Patting her Gyarados on the side of his neck, she ushered him forward, ignoring Josh's comment on catching the Sharpedo from earlier. They needed to get the supplies to those people.
The odd entourage pushed forward through the storm, and eventually, Olivia saw the outline of the ship ahead. "We're nearly there!" The brunette called out, her voice barely audible with the storm raging around them. Suddenly, however, a large orange fin creeped out from the water and launched itself at Olivia's Dragonair with icy fangs. The mystic pokemon screeched out in pain before zapping the Huntail with a deadly bolt of electricity from the sky. As Halie wrapped her body around the pokemon to keep it in place, Olivia assessed the situation. She knew Huntail often kept their children nearby, Clamperl, but she didn't see any... Until they began to launch themselves out of the water, clamping onto Deiopea. Of course, it wasn't too painful, but four pokemon biting onto the Gyarados made her very uncomfortable. Olivia looked to her Chinchou and said, motioning towards the right side of Deiopea's body where three Clamperl were hanging on tightly, "Take care of these, if you can!" Eione's antennae glowed in response as she began to release multicolored beams of light at the clam pokemon, causing them to fall into the water. As they fell, she shocked them with another blast of electricity.
Halie, on the other hand, let loose a second thunderbolt on the Huntail the was struggling in her grasp, knocking the pokemon unconscious. Which was perfect for Olivia, who tossed an ultraball at it and a pokeball at one of the Clamperl.

Things had escalated rather quickly, it seemed. While they had managed to ward off the Gyarados, and even the Sharpedo, there were still Huntail to take care of! And along with that, several Clampearl!
Josh took a breath, holding on tight to the Gyarados as Olivia's Pokemon would shock the daylights out of the Huntail and Clampearl, and Bastilo, Gawain and Chuck had been attacking any others that came close but he noticed something... There was another one still there! "Drat, we missed one!" he said as he noticed it clamping down on the Gyarados. "Pika!" Lightning let out, wanting a fight. "You want him? Go get him!" He said to Lightning, who would leap off Josh's shoulder. "Quick Attack!" He called to Lightning, who would charge at high speed and slam into the Clampearl, sending it flying off the Gyarados. "Use Magnet Rise, don't let it come back!" he called. "Pi!" Lightning let out as he would be covered in a golden aura, flying into the air to go after the Clampearl. "Use Brick Break and send it higher into the air!" Josh would call to Lightning, who would fly up high, his paws starting to glow white.
"Piikkaaa.... Piiiiikaaaa..... PIKA!" Lightning let out as he hit not one, but TWO chops, one that stunned it, another that send it flying high into the storm!
"Alright Lightning! Finish it with Thunder!" Josh called. "Pika...." Lightning began as he would let his cheeks spark. "CHUUUUUU!" he let out fiercely as the thunder attack would be caught in the storm, before a thunderbolt from the skies would rain down and fry the Clampearl. As it began to fall, Josh would aim, before tossing the Pokeball at the Clampearl, and once the Clampearl was sucked in, he instructed Lightning to grab it in mid-air. He just hoped it would stay in there...
With the last of the pokemon being captured, Olivia urged Deipea forward, the Abondened Ship finally in their sights. It was a good thing too, because just as they made it to the entrance of the ship, the storm worsened even more! Hail had began to fall as Olivia and company entered the hole that was in the side of the ship. "Hello?" She called out, having her Chinchou's antennae act as lamps and illuminate the area around them. A voice came from the shadows, a man's, and yelled, "Who are you?!" Motioning to her Chinchou to go to the bags of supplies, Olivia answered, "We're the supply shipment! I've brought you all things that were requested." Suddenly, the interior of the ship filled with light, and Olivia saw that there were a good amount of people crowded around the entrance they had just came through. As her Gyarados took them to a place to unload, the eyes of the people surrounding them never stopped looking at them. Olivia began to unload the supplies, and as the others helped her finish, the man said with a toothy grin, "Thank you, miss. I dunno what we would have done if you hadn't come." Olivia, never one for sugarcoating the truth, especially after the hell she had just been through, said, "Die. You probably would have died." The man look astonished to hear something like that come from a lady's mouth, but Olivia could care less.
Sighing, she hopped back onto Deipea and saluted the people surrounding her. "I do hope you people make use of these supplies, and do be wary of the storm outside. Perhaps use an ice type to freeze this gaping hole?" And with that parting comment, she was gone.
