Josh nodded in response. "Aye, it's quite obvious that Team Magma's behind this. I've heard rumblings, but this machine being as active as it is proves it. If Team Magma wasn't around, then these would have been shut off long ago. Especially with those weirdos that you mentioned running around..." he said, shaking his head. "We need to be careful, they could be back at any moment. If there are anymore, they need to be destroyed as soon as possible. And then we have to warn Lavaridge" he added.
Lightning and Electrivire's combined might caused the machine to explode and stop functioning. Josh let out a sigh in relief over none of them being caught in the blast. Hopefully, there wouldn't be anymore, but Josh had a feeling that they weren't going to be so lucky.
He shook his head over at Izumi to her question as her Pokemon checked the machine out. "After the whole thing with your Torchic, nothing surprises me anymore" he teased, sticking her tongue out at her with a smirk. "Trust me, you can't surprise me with alternate colors now sweetheart" he cracked.
Looked like the machine was done for, as Izumi's electric type pointed out. He would nod. "Pika!" Lightning chirped as he climbed back onto Josh's shoulder. He patted his head and smiled. "You did great, Lightning" he said. "Chaaa~" Lightning coo'd affectionately as Josh scratched the fur under his chin. "Is there anymore?" he asked. It wouldn't take long to find out as her water type would run over and alert her to something. Suspicion confirmed.
"Alright" he said as he ran after her, Lightning clinging to his shoulder.

She nodded, hoping to avoid having to break the “bad news” about rumors floating around that either one of the two Teams that called Hoenn “home” were back—and the machine that they’d just destroyed (with much Pokemon help) was definitive proof that either they were back, and up to no good—or someone was cooperating with them from the sidelines, but there was no actual way to prove that the machines were of Magma creation. “Ah, shit, we forgot to take a picture of the contraption!” she muttered, smacking a palm to her forehead a few moments later. “Well, we can snap a few photos of the next ones…” she trailed off, squinting through the heat haze and following the hunking shape of the Poliwrath as he cut his way through the area, still blasting water as he went. It looked like they were going in deeper; because the haze was getting thicker; and in some places she had to stop and look down, before actually moving forward—she didn’t want to step in a lava pool and end up dead now, did she…?
After following the hulking figure through the thickening fog, she then nudged Josh—since Jet had come to a stop and was now pointing ahead in the haze—where a bigger shape loomed, waiting for them to go forward and find out just what the hell it was. “Wrath, poliwrath. Poliwrath. Wrath,” the Tadpole ‘mon grunted; before squaring his shoulders and then taking his position on Izumi’s opposite side. “Oh, did you notice…?” she breathed quietly, before suddenly crinkling her nose and trying to hold in her breath—“…the place is starting to stink of brimstone. We must be in quite deeper…” she continued, before looking in front of her and seeing that Fulmine had kept up with them by acting as their “rear guard” until they’d come to a stop. “Ful, Jet. Can you go forward and clear the haze for us, please?” she asked the two; to which they nodded—the Electivire by flailing her large, bulky arms around; while the Poliwrath decided to aim another Hydro Pump right at the hulking mass—and the haze parted before them; revealing a much bigger machine. “Wrath, poliwrath…” she heard her companion grunt; and she could only guess if this was the “grand master” control or something else.
“Well… shall we get to work then?” she asked, silently bringing out her mobile phone and waving away as much haze as she could; the Poliwrath continuing to drench the machine; therefore increasing visibility and allowing them to approach the machine; where Izumi would then suddenly switch her mobile phone to camera mode before quickly fiddling around with the setting so that she could be able to take a picture of the weird contraption—it looked much different from the other one they’d seen earlier; this one was much wider—and the metal used was blackened; not rusted over. It also had a discomforting smell of fresh paint; suggesting that it had been placed in the facility quite recently. “How this thing survived high temperatures… I’ll never know,” she hissed as she then snapped a few pictures as evidence.

Post by Josh Dragomir on Nov 3, 2014 11:06:44 GMT -5
She didn't have to tell. Josh would find out more, much more, by the next time we thread together. He'd certainly have information for her then. Maybe another meeting was in order to discuss it?
Josh sighed when Izumi broke the bad news that they were supposed to take pictures of the machine before destroying it. "Fucking figures..." he muttered, facepalming. He hadn't been informed, Izumi had been the one to receive the briefing. Josh had been brought along afterword. "Ugh... Well, something tells me there's more then one" he said as they walked. "Really, I doubt anyone doing shit like this is going to stick with just one. They're going to have a backup plan, for sure" he said. Izumi mentioned there were more afterword though, confirming his suspicions. "Just try not to forget this time, alright? I'll have Lightning shock it back into your memory if you do" he teased cheekily, shooting her a wildly cheeky and teasing grin.
It seemed they were getting deeper and deeper as they followed her oversized frog monster. Josh was being wary not to step in lava pools, but looked behind him to notice something... Dunamus, Josh's Mudkip had been silently following them. As Josh stopped, he stopped. As Josh kept walking, Dunamus kept walking. He sighed and motioned the Mudkip over. "Oh, get your ass over here, you cheeky bastard" he cracked as the Mudkip followed orders and trotted back to his Trainer. "You know Hydro Pump too, this might be good for putting out any magma slots. Thanks for coming along, Dunamus" he said to the silent Mudkip, who then spoke finally with "Mudkip!"
The fog was getting thicker, and Josh would only be stopped by Izumi nudging him. It was only then that he noticed the smell of brimstone, one that Lightning would also take notice of and cover his nose. "Pika Pika!" Lightning cried out in disgust. Josh buried his nose in his jacket and sighed. Dunamus though, didn't seem phased at all.
He watched as Izumi's two Pokemon would clear it out to reveal a much bigger machine. "Shit..." he muttered. "Well, make sure to take a picture this time" he cracked. "Or shock therapy will help you remember" he teased. As Izumi did that, he looked over the machine.... Looked to be the big cheese to him. If they took this one down, it should disable the other ones, he hoped.
"Alright, let's get to work" he said. "Maybe a direct heat attack onto it, then a direct water attack onto where we heat it up directly would weaken it? Then maybe our electric types can hit it with attacks and hit the weak spot?" he suggested before releasing a Pokemon from their Pokeball. "Go, Fawkes!" he said as the Charizard would come out of it's Pokeball.
OOC: Maybe some spawns to guard the thing would be fun? Maybe the machine's pissed off the Pokemon living in this area?

“Heh, as if,” she began in retort to his jibe, quickly snapping a few close-up pictures of the strange contraption that was looming over them. It was almost as tall as a young teenager; and was the length of almost two comforters placed end to end beside each other. One portion of the contraption was covered in levers and hissing dials; while another portion of it had a hatch that could be opened—only thing is was that it was locked tight with a weird-shaped lock. The top portion of the machine was apparently a screen—albeit it looked fogged over because of the heat the cave was emitting. “How could this thing survive in this heat is beyond me…” she trailed off as she then heard Josh send out one of his own—and heard a roar coming from somewhere near her. She could tell that it was his Charizard—which then gave her an idea. “Alright, make room…” she said, backing away once she’d snapped enough pictures of the entire contraption, and then plucking out a particular Lure Ball; before sending out its occupant—thankfully this place had enough room.
As the very tall flash of red light formed its occupant, she then heard her own “latest addition” let out an extremely loud roar; before looking down—and seeing that he was finally free. Noticing that the raven-haired individual smelled of his previous owner, he could only snort derisively; while Izumi made introductions. “So… yeah, Josh. Meet Ryuen. He’s a Gyarados that I received from a previous Gym Leader over in the Orre region… the orange-haired guy said he was going to see the world and would quit, so when he started giving away his ‘mons, I decided to snap him up and take care of him for myself,” she said with a sheepish grin on her face. She was still in the middle of teaching Ryuen here how to ferry people across choppy waters; so there was a reason why she didn’t travel too much over water. Now that introductions were over, she then pointed at the weird embankment of machines, before continuing, “Hey, Ry. Mind if you aim your Ice Beam at that thing? After that, Josh—you can ask Fawkes to incinerate it. Subject it first to extreme cold; before dousing it in extreme flames… and then subjecting it to another round of dousing, and then we can zap the thing and get the hell out of here…” she trialed off; before looking up at the titanic-sized Gyara.
Without warning, the Gyarados had already gathered a sudden burst of arctic energy; before releasing it in one fell swoop—before she added, “Coat it in two, three layers of ice!” and the Gyara then continued to coat the contraption with the arctic energy it was blasting from its mouth; layering it on quite thick. Once he was done, she then looked at Josh, before saying, “If you have another ‘mon there that can use Fire-type techniques, bring ‘em out now… then we can lay the smack down on this machine.”

Josh stuck his tongue out at her playfully when she spoke in retort. "Oh Izumi, dear. I'm sure a bit of shock therapy could be great for you" he teased, grinning cheekily. "Maybe it'll stop the uh... Smellynating" he cracked, laughing as she took pictures. He noticed how big the damned thing was... Especially compared to the others. It seemed to be the big one, the big cheese, the lead, and likely the control of the other machines. If they disabled this one, he bet that it would disable any remaining in this blasted volcano.
She would bring out a Gyarados after, to match Fawkes. Josh tilted his head, what did the girl have planned? Funny, that it was almost like the outside the box thinking he'd brought into battle had slightly rubbed off on Izumi. To Izumi's advice, he nodded as he watched as the Pokemon she had would use Ice Beam.
"Gotcha" he said to Izumi's suggestion. "Go, Inferno!" Josh called as he let out his Typhlosion. "GRAAA!" The familiar Typhlosion would let out. "First fire...." he said. "Inferno, Fawkes... Use Flamethrower!" he commanded. The two would growl as they loosed jets of intense flames at where the ice beam had been fired.
After a few moments, he would command them to stop. "Dunamus, use Hydro Pump!" he called. "KIIIIIIIIIIIIP!" he let out as he fired a heavy torrent of water at the spot as well.
"Alright, Dunamus... Good" he said, before nodding over at Izumi. "Let's do this, shall we?" he asked.
"Lightning... USE THUNDER!" he commanded in a firm, commanding voice. "Pika...." Lightning began as his cheeks sparked. "CHUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" he let out fiercely as he would unleash his most powerful electrical attack at it.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Nov 14, 2014 6:06:41 GMT -5
She then blinked and watched as Inferno made his re-appearance; and the two Fire-types would go and unload their most powerful Flamethrower on the big, hulking, looming machine. As the super-hot fire made contact with the frozen ice, she then heard something cracking, much like a pane of glass, before it shattered, melting and evaporating under the intense heat that the two were now emitting from their own respective maws. After that, there was an opening—and since her Poliwrath was now here as well, watching the madness unfurl, she then pointed forward, before continuing, “Join that Mudkip! Ry, Jet—fire your Hydro Pump at will!” and then dove out of the way as the taller Gyarados suddenly released a blast of high-pressure water; completely dousing the sizzling machine. The Poliwrath then concentrated before taking a deep breath—and unloading its own stream of high-pressurized water. With three Water-types spreading their attacks out as far as the huge machine extended; the entire thing that was smoking a few seconds ago was suddenly cooling down—and then the next leg of their “operation” took place.
As Lightning practically hopped off Josh’s shoulders and began charging up, she then whistled a few notes—making the Gyara and the Poli back down—before ushering the Electivire forward. At the last second, she realized that maybe two weren’t going to be enough, and she picked up the pink Love Ball before tossing it forward—and out came her Gardevoir, unfolding itself from a curled-up position and landing gracefully on the floor. “Momo. Hi. Aim a Thunderbolt over there at that big, black machine, will you? You too, Fulmine! Show what you’re truly capable of!” and then took out a pair of shades before slipping it on—the Gardevoir was now charging up its own Thunderbolt, while the Electivire decided to take things a bit differently—instead of using Thunderbolt first, it had decided to summon a crackling globular sphere of black electricity; before pitching it as hard as she could, much like a baseball! The black Electro Ball then collided with the machine—but they weren’t done yet; as the Gardevoir then pointed one limb forward, before a loud peal of lightning shook the cave; followed immediately by a second one—the clash of two Thunderbolts; one naturally-colored and one black as pitch, shook the cave at the same time the Thunder attack that the Pika had thrown hit the machine.
Now that the machine had been doused with water; the different bolts and sources of electricity that had smacked into it now caused the thing to shudder and shake as the electricity shorted it out… but the thing was still standing! As the loud explosion rocked the cave, she then shielded her arms—and hoped that her ‘mons had protected themselves from the sudden backlash of kinetic energy… and then blinked; why the hell was the thing still upright?! “Ah, shit. The machine’s heavy-duty… Ry, Jet—aim your Hydro Pump well! After they douse the machine, Momo, Ful—follow it up right away with your best electric discharge!” and then watched as the Gyara then stepped forward again; before roaring and releasing another blast of high-powered water; accompanied by the Poliwrath who was now going at maximum output. At the same time the two were blasting their torrential Water attacks, the Gardevoir and the Electivire were concentrating; before unleashing a simultaneous output of electrical energy; crackling powerfully through the air—and releasing a burst of static. Izumi could feel the hair on her arms standing up as the two Thunderbolt attacks shook the machine and they heard more explosions… but it was still whole…

Josh watched the chaos unfold, with him and Izumi focusing all their attacks on the machine with the different Pokemon. He just hoped they'd be able to pull this off. He watched as Izumi brought out a Gardevoir before joining in the attacks. If the two of them, with their pairs of Pokemon, couldn't do the trick... What would? Just how tough was this machine? They would have to find out the hard way, it seemed. The attacks would go one after the other, command after command, attack after attack... But the thing still wasn't destroyed!
They could hear explosions though... The machine was cracking. Breaking. It was breakable! It was destructible! They could do this!
"Alright Dunamus" Josh said as he saw just how much this heavy duty machine could handle. "Use Hydro Pump, along with Ry!" he said. "Kiiiiip!" he let out as he unleashed a heavy torrent of water, drenching the machine with high pressured blasts. Afterword, Josh hoped this next one would do it...
"Alright, Lightning! Let's finish this!" Josh said as Izumi lined up her Pokemon as well. "Use Thunder!" he called.
"Pika.... CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Lightning let out fiercely as he let out his hardest Thunder attack along with Izumi's two electric powerhouses. The machine would be hit dead on after being weakened, and Josh could hear explosions occurring inside of it.
"Get back!" Josh told Izumi as Lightning would stop using Thunderbolt, sensing what was able to happen. Josh would tackle Izumi down along with him as the machine erupted into a massive explosion, wrapping his arms around her as they fell to protect her using his own body. Lightning would duck as soon as he sensed what was going on.
"Gah... You alright?" he asked Izumi, looking over at her.
Post by Izumi Yamamura on Nov 17, 2014 8:00:30 GMT -5
With the renewed assault that Josh’s Pokémon were now launching on the “big cheese” of a control panel, it was inevitable that all of the energy they had unloaded on the thing would cause a brilliant explosion, fitting of its being decommissioned. Josh apparently knew what was coming—as her view had suddenly gone horizontal as a terrific explosion shook the area, and he’d toppled her to the ground in order to shield her from whatever debris was raining down on them. As for the Pokémon, the Gyarados had quickly unfurled itself to full height, before quickly surrounding all of the smaller ones as the explosion shook the cave—shielding all of them from the wreckage that was sent hurtling through the air. Once the crazy part was over, the Gyara uncoiled himself, before looking down at the assortment beneath, checking if they were unharmed. Mostly, everyone was okay, having been shielded by the Gyara’s hulking body. Over at where the two were, Izumi then felt her face turn a violent shade of red—being in such close proximity with him!
“Errr…ack, yeah, I’m fine. Thanks for asking. Although the warning was a bit late… I landed a bit hard,” she said with a sheepish grin, before attempting to pull herself up—and accidentally hitting his forehead in the process! “Ouch,” she said with another sheepish grin as she then placed her left palm to her forehead, trying to numb the pain for a bit as she then extracted herself and then sat up. In front of them was a soldering wreck—what used to be a big, long, hulking machine was now just a pile of metal—a pile of black, smoking, sparking metal. “Well, it did work… and I think Ry shielded everyone from harm,” she added with a chuckle, pointing to where the Gyara was now uncoiling his long body and shaking himself free of the debris that had hit him. “Nicely done, big guy,” she began, walking over to where the Gyarados stood—when she thought she felt the ground beneath their feet trembling. “H-huh. What was that… Did someone use Earthquake or something?” she continued, turning around and looking at Josh, her eyebrows rising curiously.
It was a few more moments before she realized that something was wrong—why was the entire area suddenly shaking? She then looked up; and as if they were one entity, so did all of her assembled ‘mons. The entire cave was shaking, trembling—and she saw cracks spreading across the ceiling, before realizing just what was going on. “What-what the hell?! It was a trap?!” she shouted, pointing up to the ceiling, and if Josh cared to look, the ceiling was now caving in on them; the ground trembling violently. She then struggled to keep herself balanced, before shouting again, “We have to get out of here! The entire cave’s going to give in!” before quickly pulling out a motley assortment of containment units—quickly recalling the Gyarados, the Electivire, and the Poliwrath. As they all vanished in a flash of red light, she then realized… she still had two more Pokémon out in the other parts of the cave!“Momo!” she screamed, and the Embrace ‘mon quickly made her way over. “Look for Nixe and Kei, and get them out of here! I know you can find them! Just meet us outside the cave.GO!” she continued, the panicky edge in her voice, and without warning, the Gardevoir suddenly disappeared—it had Teleported out of the area, in order to look for the two missing members of her party.
The section of cave where they were in was shaking violently now, and she then looked at Josh, before seeing that he had his Charizard out. “I have an idea. I already sent Momo ahead, and out of the cave… let’s get out of here, I don’t want to be squashed like a pancake!” she continued, breaking into a run towards Fawkes. She knew that they had no more time to argue, and then quickly waved him over, waiting for him to pull himself atop his own Pokémon. “Do you want to die, or not?! Let’s GO!” she continued, looking around—the cave was trembling like there was an earthquake—who knew that the entire place had been rigged to implode on itself if the big “grand master” machine was destroyed?!

Josh didn't seem to notice the close faces, at least for the moment. Right now, he was in complete serious mode. They could make kissy faces at one another later. The ground began shaking. The ceiling was caving in. Josh gritted his teeth as he helped Izumi to her feet. Gah! It was a trap! He looked over at his Pokemon, who had been shielded by her Gyarados, and he would nod in thanks to the Gyarados, and to the Izumi. "Return, Inferno, Dunamus" he said to his Typhlosion and Mudkip as he returned them to their Pokeballs. "Pika!" Lightning chirped as he climbed onto Josh's shoulder. Josh had considered returning Lightning to his Pokeball as well... But he knew the Pikachu would have none of it.
As Izumi mentioned finding her other Pokemon, Josh's eyes widened. Damnit, his Wartortle and Froakie were still in the volcano! "Izumi, I need to..." he trailed off before noticing two figures running toward them amongst the chaos. Bastilo and Espio. Josh nodded over at them. "Thank god you're safe" he said as he pulled out their Pokeballs. "Espio! Bastilo! Return!" he said as he returned the two water types to their Pokeballs.
To Izumi's idea, Josh would nod and call Fawkes over to them. The Charizard would quickly make his way over, and Izumi had already gotten on while Josh was returning Espio and Bastilo to their Pokeballs. Josh would glare at Izumi when she yelled at him. He understood her concern, but he had to make sure his Pokemon were safe! Josh would quickly climb onto Fawkes's back. "Go, Fawkes!" Josh said. Fawkes would growl as he took flight, rocketing through the volcano at high speeds with the two on his back.
As Josh steered him, Fawkes would dodge falling rocks and spouting lava geysers. The whole place was coming apart around them, and the blonde was in full on serious mode as he steered his Charizard through this dangerous environment. Lightning clung to Josh's shoulder as they flew, before finally they got to the entrance...
"Damnit, the entrance is caving in!" Josh called to Fawkes. The entrance was beginning to seal off from the rocks falling onto it, and they might not make it! "Fawkes, full speed!" Josh called fiercely. The Charizard would roar before speeding up... The entrance was getting more and more narrow, and Josh gritted his teeth... They weren't going to make it... They wouldn't be able to fit anymore with how narrow it was now...
"Fawkes, tuck your wings in and dive through what's left! We have to make it!" Josh commanded loudly and firmly, before burying his face into the Charizard's back, eyes closed, bracing himself for impact.... Fawkes would let out a fierce roar before he would tuck his wings, rocketing through the air, and through the little bit of hole left in the entrance, barely fitting through while the rocks around them battered them in the process...
Rocks would shoot out of the entrance as they rocketed through it just barely, and Fawkes would spin repeatedly as he reached open air, his wings unfurling themselves. Josh had been hit by a ton of rocks, as had Lightning and Fawkes, and all three were bruised and bleeding for their troubles.
Josh let out a laugh as he would look down at the land far below them. "Alright, Fawkes! Go in for a landing!" he said as the Charizard would fly down, touching down on solid ground.
"Whew..." Josh said as he hopped off, before reaching up and wrapping his arms around Izumi's waist, helping the girl down as well. "Are you guys alright?" he asked the three. "Pika..." Lightning whimpered. He was hurting, but he nodded in affirmative. Fawkes would let out a roar in affirmative. They were banged up, but they were okay.

Things were just getting really hairy at this point; she’d seen two smaller shapes climbing over the rubble, and two flashes of red light recalling them back into their containment units—before he finally hoisted himself astride the Charizard and she followed suit. The place was literally imploding all around them, and she then decided to hang on to him by holding his waist and tucking her head in as best as she could; she knew that Momo could Teleport faster and quicker; and she hoped that they would be waiting outside. “Argh, I just absolutely hate the rubble…” she grumbled, holding a hand over her head—and then seeing that their exit point up ahead was definitely shrinking. Sure, I’ve ridden on Sora’s back several times before, but never on a Charizard… wait a second wha?! She thought as she felt Josh duck down—and she did too, protecting her head as best as she could—and they burst out of the crack; before suddenly pulling upwards at a sharp angle.
“Hey, wait a second—“she began, before suddenly screaming as the Charizard shot upwards at an almost vertical angle, before unfurling its impressive wing span and soaring through the skies! She could hear her companion laughing as loudly as he could—before guiding the Charizard back down to earth, and coming in for a four-point landing. As she tumbled off Fawkes’ back, she then saw that there was a Gardevoir waiting for them, accompanied by a very banged-up Swampert and Empoleon—before quickly walking over to them and giving them all a hug! “Good to see you all alive in one piece. Did Momo have a hard time finding you?” she began, to which the two Water-types grunted, before pointing at the Gardevoir, who bowed. “Alright, all of my team’s present and accounted for. I don’t know if this was a success, but looks like one part of Chimney can’t be accessed anymore…”
Headcount:
Nixe and Kei: banged-up but otherwise okay Momo: fine, no scratches Ryuen, Jet and Fulmine: safe in their respective containment units

Josh would instantly get to work on pulling out potions and spraying down Lightning and Fawkes, with no care for his own well being it seemed. He had a nasty gash just above his eye, and several scratches and bruises visible along his body, but he didn't care at that moment. For now, his focus was on his Pokemon. Once they were potion sprayed down and healed, he would look over at Izumi, who seemed to be tending to her own Pokemon and making sure everyone got out in one piece.
"It seems we got everyone" he said, cracking his neck. "Fuck, that was hairy.... But we made it" he said, smirking. He would walk over and pull Izumi into a tight hug. "Glad we all made it out in one piece. Yourself included" he said with a laugh as he playfully gave her a small noogie from the hugging position. "We should head back though. I'm sure Lavaridge will be waiting for us. I suppose our success is debateable, but we did what we set out to do. The magma machines were destroyed. Not much else we could do" he said.
He would smirk and playfully nudge Izumi as he passed before heading back to town, Lightning and Fawkes trailing behind him.
