Thomas laughed at the last part of what she said. While the thought of having their little sister turned against them by their parents was scary, it wouldn't surprise Thomas in the slightest. For years, he thought that Andrea didn't care about him either, something that had thankfully been proven wrong. But then, she seemed to be the daddy's girl, the one who willingly took their father's mantle. But then, who knew what the bastard put her through? Thomas could only cringe at the idea of what kind of training she had under him.
"I hope you enjoy, Andrea.", Zed told Andrea with a smile, before continuing to do more little jobs in the back area.
Thomas wasn't even sure of what he was going to do after he dealt with their father. On one hand, resource acquisition was important, especially if he had any hope of taking on the thieves, and their mysterious client. On the other hand, he desperately wanted to give his Pokemon something they've never had: a proper journey. In Hoenn and Unova, he didn't have the guts to go through with it. In Kanto, he tried, but disaster struck before he could truly start. Johto, it didn't matter to him at all, starting his travels as an aimless husk, devolving into the bitter, rage-fueled beast he currently is.
"To be honest, I need to think about that one.", Thomas told his sister with a chuckle, before sipping his fourth beer again.

“Well, don’t spend too long thinking about it, time isn’t exactly on our side after all. The younger we are, the farther and the more chances we have of actually being able to do something while we still have the energy. I… I met this person who taught me my know-how in self-defense, and I picked a lot of things from him. The way he explained things was really shacking, that the world isn’t as dangerous as… as our father had perceived it to be. If it was that dangerous, how are they able to get out there and do what they needed to? Doesn’t that strike you as odd?” Andrea said, chuckling at his retort to her question from earlier. The sandwich had disappeared, and now she was left with twiddling the toothpick between her fingers. “You could say I ‘had’ their blessings when I left on my journey… but being a rising star is no mean feat. You still have to learn about battling, survival, saving cash while you’re on the road… it’s a bad world out there, and you never know what you’d run into,” she continued, before stopping the toothpick twiddling and then letting it fall to the plate, before fishing out her mobile phone once again.
She then fiddled with her phone again, swiping screens left and right, before finally getting the forum page of “the Network” to load, and then looking for new information that she could capitalize on. Her journey to this new “region” would be sidetracked for a few days; since she needed to look for the equipment she’d need once she’d gotten out there and began her searching. After a few more moments of silence, she then looked up again, and saw that her brother was now deep into the next bottle of beer that was in front of him. Thankfully, there’s no more spinning sensation. Yeah, I just need to get used to drinking again… she thought to herself, while still scrolling through the phone. She then wondered, what else could they talk about—because the sharing of information had already happened, one part of their meeting was done.

As Thomas listened to his older sister speak to him, the trainer thought about what she had to say. The trainer knew what she was saying, especially with the last part. However, he never knew his father went on about the world, or how dangerous it was. How dangerous did he think it was? Did his rants include the stuff he found on his journey for himself? But in any case, he knew that he had to act fast on the group of thieves, before they could possibly relocate.
"I see...", Thomas said, after finishing his fourth beer, and cracking his fifth one open.
Thomas looked at her as she fiddled with her phone. He wondered what there was to talk about. Sure, he could go on further about the subject she brought up, but that would have to be at home. It was related to the information she got on him in Kanto, the stuff that happened to his beloved Pokemon, and what ultimately changed him.
"Well, after I finish this beer, did you want to head back to my apartment for the night, or was there anything else you wanted to do?", Thomas inquired, before taking another swig of his beer.
He just hoped that the last two wouldn't cause him to do something stupid, like spill his plans of revenge to her, especially if she didn't side with him.

She continued to watch her brother as he sank himself into what appeared to be his last bottle for the night, and at that moment she rubbed her eyes—but only because there was something in the way at the moment. “Well, so that we can discuss the more confidential stuff, I say we head out after this, pick up a few more snacks, and then head back to your place so we can talk about…that,” she said with another pointed look, hoping he understood what the “that” was about.
She was now fiddling with the toothpick and had reached for the pitcher of water that Zed was now offering to her, pouring herself an ice-cold glass of water in order to calm her nerves down. After draining half the glass, she then pocketed her phone again, and began making the preparations in order for them to be able to vacate the premises.
I know he can’t go on full rant mode here… it definitely has to be somewhere more private, she thought to herself, looking sideways towards him once again; wondering what he would make of the hints she’d dropped in her earlier sentence. “Thanks for the sandwich and the Sunrise, it was fantastic. Best I’ve had in a while,” she said in Zed’s direction, before reaching for her wallet and then slipping a few extra bills she had on her onto the counter—it was a bit of the little money she had; but she did want to show her gratitude for the food and the (alcoholic) drinks!

Thomas knew what his sister was talking about. And he was glad that she chose to keep things between them. Even if Zed were to leave them, it was a question of anyone overhearing, or some asshole wandering into the area, as they were talking. Especially if it was the wrong person that stumbled upon such a sensitive conversation. Thomas nodded to her as he drank his last beer for the night.
Zed smiled at the girl and nodded to her. "It was a pleasure.", he told his customer's older sister. He smiled as he took the bills that she gave to him.
Thomas himself, once finished with his beer, put down enough money to pay the tab, along with the usual tip he gave his client and friend.
"Thank you, Thomas. I hope you can come back soon. I know you're outta town a lot, but when you are back, please try to come by.", Zed told the trainer.
"No problem, I know you're risking your ass doing this, so I'm more than happy to show my appreciation.", Thomas told him.
The trainer to his feet from the stool. He waited for Andrea to finish before having the bouncer escort them out, as to avoid any incidents.
