drinking time / Hoenn Sunrise: is actually a fancier version of Tequila Sunrise / 350
Andrea was tense for a few moments, before breathing a sigh of relief—at least she knew that he was waiting for her inside the area somewhere. He then kept as close to the bouncer as she could, because some of the patrons in the regular area were looking kind of… creepily her way. Shivering as she reached behind her, she then realized that she’d forgotten to bring her collapsible staff along! Oh shit. Well, that’s that… at least I have some Pokémon on me to defend myself with… she thought as they crossed the room and she was led into a much smaller area; and then the lights were switched on—mostly for her benefit anyway. Seeing that he was now sweated at the more impressive counter, she then made her way to it and then sat herself next to him, quite impressed with the level of connections he had so far in Unova at least. Now that the owner had asked about her presence, she decided to get the ball rolling at least.
“First off, there were… a lot of reasons why he didn’t tell you. It would take several hours, or maybe even a day of me sharing the entire thing if you wanted to know, but yes that’s my younger brother,” she began, making herself comfortable on the bar seat; she’d actually wanted to call him “baby brother” but knew that it was unwise to do so at the moment. “As for the drinks… think you can make a Hoenn Sunrise, complete with all the garnishing?” she said, hoping that the barman knew what it was—well, each and every region had their own specific drinks, but thanks to bartenders who tended to migrate to different areas, they’d carry along their own recipes with them, and the menus of most of the bars that Andrea had visited while travelling around mostly had a touch of her favorite drink, which she’d just mentioned. “Well… Tom, you have any questions for me?” she asked, in order to pass the time while waiting for the drinks to be served.

The man nodded to her response. He understood if she or Thomas didn't want to talk about it. As long as they didn't start a major fight in his private room, he was good. And despite Thomas' vicious reputations around certain parts of the city, and in Johto as well, the owner and Thomas were on very good terms, something Thomas certainly didn't want to ruin. Besides, it wasn't like he was going to be influenced by the alcohol or anything, given that he doesn't even drink much when he goes out drinking, as Andrea would find out.
"A Hoenn Sunrise? Yeah, I can do that.", the man told her. Given his tone of voice, it didn't even seem like any trouble to the middle-aged man. "And just a few bottles of beer for you, right?", he asked Thomas. This would tell Andrea that this was what he usually did.
"Yep. And I've got the tab on this one.", he told his friend.
"Coming right up!", the man told the two. He then immediately got to work on the Hoenn Sunrise for Andrea.
As they waited, Thomas looked at Andrea. "First of all, did everything go alright at the apartment complex? Anyone harass you, or otherwise give you trouble?", inquired Thomas. He wanted to make sure she wasn't given any bad treatment. As odd as it was, before meeting her in the alleyway, he didn't give a Raticate's ass about her. And now that he had a chance to talk to her, and actually get her side of the story with proof, he felt bad about how he put her on their parent's level all these years.
Zed put the Hoenn Sunrise in front of Andrea, before reaching under the counter, and pulling out three bottles of an in-house brewed beer in front of Thomas.
"There ya go. If you two need some privacy, don't hesitate to tell me.", he told them.

He had decided to get the ball rolling by giving his order, and Andrea was about to pull out her purse in order to slip him the cash for her drink when he continued and said that the tab would be on him; so the hand that was reaching behind her in order to pull out said purse slinked back down and watched as the Hoenn Sunrise appeared sometime later, down to the exact specifications. “You sure make the best out of all the ones I’ve seen so far,” she said with a two-fingered salute in Zed’s direction; before turning towards Thomas and then holding back a grin before answering his question. “Well, thankfully nobody got in my way too much, and when I got to the apartment… yep I saw that the television was on and they’re all in the living room. Well, most of them, I found this teddy bear on the toilet in the shower though, talk about embarrassing,” she continued with a sheepish look on her face; before taking a sip of the sunrise-colored drink.
“Mmm, tasty. No, seriously it is,” she said with another grin as she placed the highball glass down in front of her before continuing, “…I left some of my own team out, and when I left the apartment they were all crowded together on the couch watching television… and eating this bag of chips I think that came from the kitchen? Not sure if it’s cheese or barbeque-flavored but I saw some of them pulling it in from the place,” she added with a grin as she took another drink from her glass, relishing the mixing flavors. She would leave the garnish for later, as was her habit. After a few more moments of silence she then continued “So how have you been all these years? I got information you have your own self-made business now? Correct me if I’m wrong,” she continued, wondering just how how had managed to get by on his own.

Zed smiled at Andrea. "Thank you, I did learn from the best.", he told the young woman as he finished up the drink.
Thomas smiled as he heard that she had no trouble in getting to his apartment. And when he heard that his Teddiursa was in the bathroom, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, I noticed that she likes that room for some odd reason. Whenever she's not playing with the others, she likes to hang out in there.", replied Thomas. She then mentioned the bag of chips they were eating. "Oh, those are just some snacks suited for Pokemon. They are made like chips, but are full of nutrients necessary for them, as odd as it sounds. Anything I don't want them getting into, I lock off carefully.", he assured her.
After that, Thomas used a bottle opener to crack open his first beer, taking a sip from the cold, bottled drink. When Andrea inquired about the business, Thomas was about to speak up. However, before he could, Zed chimed in immediately.
"Yep, he's started a business that captures Pokemon and gives them to people. Obviously, it's all legal, mostly for kids who can't get it through their parents due to their work lives limiting their time so severely. And in a place like Castelia, that is a shockingly common occurrence. When Thomas here started his business as what he calls a "middleman", he really struck some serious gold! He will also help people obtain the Pokemon they want. And aside from being legally caught, they are well conditioned into integrating with humans.", Zed told Andrea excitedly.
"Aside from being a pretty good friend of mine from five years back, he helped get my nephews and nieces their first Pokemon, so that's why I let him drink here.", Zed told the girl.
Thomas, not even seeming to mind what Zed had done to explain his business, nodded to both of them. "Thank you, Zed. And yep, that's pretty much what I do for a living around here. It was somewhat inspired by how I got Lazlo at eight from that man.", Thomas told her.
"As for how I have been doing over the years, I'm just going to say that it was... rather mixed for now.", he told Andrea as he took another sip of his beer.

“I… I see,” Andrea began, surprised that it wasn’t Thomas, but Zed who had done the brief overview of the entire business that he’d set up for himself in Unova—why had none of her contacts informed her about this? Was it because of other reasons that Thomas didn’t want to disclose? In any case, she made a mental note to ask around after this evening was over; and took another sip from the half-drained glass in front of her. “It… it reminds me of something,” she said, looking at Thomas with this knowing look, “…this business of yours. Also, I have some other questions, but I think I’ll save them for later,” she said with another look that hinted, “We’ve got to talk at your place after this” and then began twirling the garnishing in her hand. “So he’s got a lot of clients then?” she asked Zed, figuring that since he knew a lot about his business, he’d have as much information on it as well.
“At… at least you have a source of inspiration that made you go down the same route eventually; helping out others start on their journey. Even my own journey wasn’t full of ribbons and ruffles as you may expect it to have been. It was hell, fishing up that Feebas and taking an eternity before it became proud enough and beautiful,” she quipped, draining the glass at this point and popping most of the garnishing in her mouth; before letting the remainder fall into the glass. “Can I have another Hoenn Sunrise, please? It just tastes so good,” she said with a sheepish grin on her face. “At least it’s heartening to see that you’ve made a good name for yourself all these years,” he continued as the empty glass was taken away. “So… do you have branches in other regions or this is just strictly Unova-based? I understand why you don’t want to have one in Hoenn, but yeah… just curious to find out how far you’ve spread this venture of yours,” she continued, waiting for Thomas to answer.

Zed cleared his throat for a moment after speaking. "Sorry, I got.. carried away... heh...", the man stated. Thomas shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, you summed it up well enough, don't worry.", the trainer reassured his friend. Thomas noticed the look Andrea gave him as she sopke to him, the trainer nodding to her. "That's fine. And if you want, you can spend the night at my place. I have a spare bedroom.", he told his sister.
When she told him about her journey, he took another sip of his beer. "A Feebas? That must've been a challenge. But Milotic is worth it, especially if one is Coordinating.", replied Thomas, taking yet another sip of his beer.
When asking for another Hoenn Sunrise, Zed nodded to her. "Thank you.", he told her with a smile as he took the glass. He then started to make another one for her.
When asked about his business, he let her finish, taking a sip of his beer as he listened. "Castelia is where it's based, and I haven't hired on anyone else as of yet. However, I also have permission to capture in Sinnoh, Johto, Kanto, Orre, and even Hoenn. Though I rarely go to Kanto or Hoenn, as you can probably figure. All of my deliveries are by distance services. I'm still waiting on permission for Kalos, though.", Thomas told the girl.
After that, Zed finished her Hoenn Sunrise, placing it in front of her. At that point, Thomas took the last sip of his first beer. He immediately cracked into his second one.

lil'bro / Kalos tip / 350
“Thanks,” Andrea muttered at the first part; hearing about the offer. It’s impossible that you live alone, I… I sort of saw the extra room there but yeah I didn’t want to assume anything about it, she thought to herself as she watched the next Hoenn Sunrise taking form in front of her. As for the Feebas—“Yep, took me a good long while to get her to what she is. It’s like, most of, if not all, of the coordinators have their own Feebas or a Milotic, but I’m working on getting her to be something that stands out from the crowd… it’s hard having a lot of competition, even if they’re friends with you and everything. Once you hit the stage, it’s just you and your Pokémon against the world,” she added with a chuckle as she took the second glass and could only whistle at it. “Thank you,” she said, before taking a quick sip from the glass and setting it down—her brother was now on the second bottle of beer.
Once she’d heard about the rest of the details regarding his little “business”; she could only chuckle. “No Kanto or Hoenn for you then huh? That’s perfectly understandable. Oh, speaking of Kalos…” she trailed off, trying to remember something about the region, lapsing into silence before the information she’d gotten popped into her head, “Well, guess what, I heard something about the Kalos region. There’s this place where people can go to and just… well, have at it. Dig up stuff. Some of the things they find there made some people quite rich overnight; though I have yet to actually check out why. I may be going to Kalos too, just to check out the Coordinator scene as well—and maybe look for some more ways to get some hands on some quick cash… it’s hard traveling with such a limited budget. If I find out anything else I’ll let you know,” she continued, taking another sip from the Sunrise; it had that tangy sweetness to it; something she’d missed drinking in a long time.

Thomas nodded at his older sister in a welcoming manner. It was funny how a mutual "enemy", in this case a couple of people they both didn't exactly like, brought them together. Especially when he heard about some of the shit she had to go through. But then, it felt surprisingly good to actually have time with a family member. Was this what he was missing out on all these years? Maybe when he visited Hoenn, he'd try to have some alone time with Sarah, assuming she'd want it.
"Yeah, I know the feeling. Especially in the more intense, high stakes battles, it's the same thing, even among friends and all.", Thomas told the girl.
Before Thomas could reply to what she said about Kanto and Hoenn, she mentioned something in Kalos. Thomas listened as she told him about a treasure rush in Kalos. Immediately, the trainer was very interested in this turn of events. "Any idea what it is that's in so much demand that people are getting rich seemingly overnight?", inquired Thomas, before taking another sip of his second beer.

Seeing as she’d managed to steer the topic of discussion towards something a lot more interesting, she then cracked a grin as she fished out her mobile phone and then attempted to access ‘the Network’, which served as the Coordinator’s center of information around all the known regions. After scrolling through a few times, she tapped the screen and then checked the topic where she’d found the information. Once the screen had loaded—and she’d taken another sip of the Sunrise—she then said, “Ah, here it is. Alright, so there’s this place called the ‘Badlands’, it lets people go there for four times a month, in order to just… dig up stuff they can find while excavating things. From what I heard, though, there were some people who’d struck gold… because they’ve been digging up these weird, shiny-colored marbles and selling it for big money online. I don’t know exactly what the word is on the streets in Kalos, but there are some people who would pay incredibly large sums of money for one of these ‘marbles’ that they find…” she trailed off, trying to look for a picture of what she was talking about in the thread’s contents.
Unfortunately, after a few more moments of silent searching, she was unable to turn up any pictures of aforementioned “marbles”. She continued, “Apparently, the people over in Kalos said it ties to something—but they’re not revealing what it is, but they’re sure that the marbles have something to do with this mystery that people keep finding in the dig site, so to speak,” she continued, flipping the phone around so that her brother could take a look at the topic if he wanted to. If he did, scrolling up would reveal the exact information that she’d shared, along with a lot of speculations about what the marbles were used for. Nobody had a clear and definite answer to it though… it was definitely a mystery! “After my little stopover here in Unova, I might head on over to Kalos to check out those rumors for myself; and then see what else happens… might even join this sudden ‘gold rush’ myself and check it out,” she continued after another long sip from her drink.
Post by Thomas Thaddeus on Jul 10, 2014 5:20:33 GMT -5
It seemed like the topic of the proverbial "gold rush" in the Kalos Region was something Andrea was interested in. While she was navigating her phone, Thomas continued to slowly drink his beer, being careful as to not spill any on her phone. Thankfully, Thomas seemed to be holding his own, even if he was only on his second beer of the night. And as she told him about the Badlands, he listened carefully. It seemed like something worthwhile, even if he was already making a good amount of money off of the contracts in the city.
However, money wasn't what was on his mind when he read up on it. Instead, it was about the prize in general. The strange marbles she described seemed to be very sought after for some odd reason. And Thomas was curious as to why people prioritized these marbles over all. At least, that's what it sounded like to Thomas.
"After I deal with our parents, I'm planning on visiting Kalos myself. I'm... I'm going to be taking on their Gym Circuit, try one last time to have one of those quests with my friends.", Thomas told her. "I just hope disaster doesn't strike again", Thomas continued with a heavy sigh, finishing off his second beer.
"And I don't mean to copy you, but I might check this out myself, it seems worth following to me.", Thomas told her as he cracked open his third and seemingly final beer.

“…I hope they don’t get thinking on one of those harebrained schemes again, they’re enough trouble as it is. I also worry about how Sarah’s holding up, now that we’re both… gone from the house and all,” she said, trying her best not to grin like a total maniac at the mention of their…estranged family. At the mention of going to check out the “gold rush” art as well, she grinned widely now. “Well, I may head on there in a few days after getting all the information I’ve come all the way to Unova for; I’ll definitely keep in touch with you should I find anything unusual there. Oh wait, here,” she continued, reaching into her pocket and taking out a scrap of paper, along with a pen that she always carried with her. After scribbling something down, she then passed it to him and said, “There, just in case you need to contact me. If you have a number of your own, we might as well exchange so that we can keep track of each other,” she ended, before taking another long, generous sip from the Hoenn Sunrise and then setting it down.
After a few more moments of silence, she then continued, “I… I don’t know if I’m going to chase after the gold rush but it sure sounds tempting. One of those shining marbles sold for… quite a lot, from what I’ve heard from the people in Kalos. Some of them keep finding the same ones, and even those get sold. I just don’t know what they’re used for, it just has a lot of people going crazy over finding the marbles and then…using them, I guess,” she trailed off, taking another long drink from the glass in front of her. I want to know what they’re up to with those marbles too. Might as well get in on the ‘gold rush’ while it’s still hot and going strong! She thought to herself as she continued to drink from the glass—and then started to feel a bit woozy. “Whoa. Uhh, Zed, you got some light snacks there?” she asked with a very sheepish grin on her face; she knew that eating something while having some alcoholic drinks helped lessen the drunken effect!
Post by Thomas Thaddeus on Jul 13, 2014 1:40:35 GMT -5
Thomas cracked a grin as she mentioned the family. "Whatever the fuck they're up to, I'm hesitant to find out. Frankly, I don't know what they even want from me.", Thomas told his sister.
Thomas sipped his beer as she told him what was going on. She told him that she might end up looking into the treasure rush herself, once she was done in Unova. And then she handed him her phone number. Likewise, Thomas handed Andrea a card with his cell phone number on it. But rather than the work number he used for his business, it contained his personal number.
"Alright, that sounds good to me.", Thomas told his older sister.
Zed noticed how the nineteen year-old was getting drunk. When she asked about some light snacks, the man smiled. He handed the girl a small menu, containing some snacks he'd have around this time. "There you go. Those should usually do the trick.", Zed told the older girl.
Surprisingly, it seemed like Thomas was doing just fine after taking down three beers in such a quick span of time. It seemed like he either drank more than one would suspect, or that he had a naturally high tolerance towards alcohol.

“You know what; the longer we’re away from home, the more things seem to be…” Andrea began, quickly grabbing the menu and then looking over the selection of choices, before finally deciding on a BLT sandwich and handing the menu back to Zed, who grinned and took the order before proceeding to patch it through in order for the sandwich to be made before continuing, “…but if I get any other information from them, I’ll try and tip you off before they find you. I… I still seem to have some favor with them at least, so I can grab updates from them and let you know. They’re a bit unreasonable lately though, so I hope Sarah’s okay,” she trailed off with a distressed look—it had been a while since she’d had something alcoholic to drink, therefore her body was still getting used to having all that alcohol in her system again!
Well I used to drink quite a lot, especially in Sinnoh… ahahaha they’d kill me if they found out, but glad to see that little brother can hold his alcohol well too… she thought to herself as she waited for the sandwich to appear. Seeing the piece of paper that was handed to her, she took it and then glanced at it, before shuffling through her phone and listing it into her “Contacts” area. “There we go, thanks for the number,” she added, pocketing the piece of paper. As for heading to Kalos, she then added, “Well, if I happen to run into you in the Badlands, if time allows and by then we know about all the ‘gold rush’ there, you want to go hunt together? We can cover a wider area that way and find things a lot faster too,” she suggested, hoping that it was alright with him! She had actually read on the Network that it was possible for more than one person to go on the ‘gold rush’ digs, so it was well worth a shot.

Thomas silently watched as she made her selection on the menu. To be honest, he was surprised that Zed actually had the kitchen open at this hour. But then, he also let in a certain teenager just because he did him a few favors, so Thomas didn't really complain. Besides, the food there was pretty good, if one were to ask Thomas.
Once he got the order, Zed nodded to Andrea, and sent the order to the kitchen to have the staff make it. Thomas himself ordered two more beers. It seemed like tonight, three beers wouldn't be enough for him. It wasn't because he was hanging out with the sister he hadn't seen in seven years, the one he never got to hang around with, but just because it didn't feel like the three beers were helping him wind down all that much. In face, he was happy to actually get a chance to have fun with his sister for once, something he never got to do at home.
"Thank you, I'd appreciate it. And if you want, I won't say anything about this meeting to our parents... Assuming the fuckers don't have their sources....", Thomas told Andrea.
After Andrea finished with her offer, Zed came out with the BLT, freshly made for Andrea, and Thomas' two beers.
"Thank you, Zed.", he told the bar owner, who nodded to him.
"And that sounds good to me.", he replied to his sister, before cracking his first beer and taking a sip from it.

“Oh, I doubt that they’d find us here. I did break off contact with them. You saw the contents of the phone, right. Lots of missed calls from them, but nope, I don’t answer any of their attempts at finding me. Who knows, they might even have Sarah searching for the two of us right now, delinquent kids that we are,” she added with a chuckle, which became a snort of laughter that she stifled once Zed had come out with the tray. “Mmm, thank you; that sandwich smells delicious. Looks good too,” she added with another grin, looking at the presentation as she then hefted up the first half of it; before taking a bite and then falling into silence—the food in her system was shaking off the wooziness; which was good.
At the mention of the suggestion that they go digging together, she was surprised that it was met with a positive response, and that made the grin on her face grow even larger, as she sunk her teeth into the rest of the sandwich.
It had been quite a moment of silence; and both halves of the sandwich were gone; before she spoke up again, “So… what would you do next after dealing with the shenanigans back home? Coming back to Unova to continue running the business you have here? Or going elsewhere and trying your luck on the “Pokémon journey” that everyone seems to be going on? It’s been quite the rage lately, you know. Lots of people have been passing through our home region, though for what reasons I… am not exactly updated on that,” she admitted with an embarrassed chuckle escaping her lips
