“Ah crap it went high… well shi—“ Izumi trailed off as it came crashing down again with another Bulldoze; and it really was doing a number on her Empoleon. Now that it was thrown off its balance again; she knew she was slightly in trouble—why was she always being beaten down in terms of battles like this?! Come on. You already managed to defeat one. You can defeat another! It just takes time to set this up! She thought, scrutinizing how, just how—and then it hit her. There was a way, but it would involve getting quite risky with her moves—and she could only hope that Nixe would hold out long enough for her to be able to do this. Have faith. You can do this. Hell, he’d be leering at you if he saw you lose… oh dear gods not now, she shuddered; secretly wishing that a certain dead redhead wasn’t jeering at her from the afterlife. Stopping the Graveler dead in its tracks was going to be a problem; she just needed to hold out a bit longer. “Nixe! Try and keep up with that Graveler! Snipe it down with your Bubblebeam!” she continued—because honestly; this was the only move that she had available at the moment that would work against the Graveler; Signal Beam was definitely going to wreck her plans if she decided to use it now—plus it wasn’t as effective as it was on Rock-types.
Especially annoying ones that have a Rock Polish move. I can definitely sense that I’m going to lose now… she thought to herself as the Empoleon stood its ground; before taking another breath and then firing off the first concentrated blast of highly-concentrated bubbles straight ahead; before following it up with a second attempt; doing this one in the same fanning motion across the arena. The third attempt, it decided to aim a bit higher—if in case the darned thing decided to go airborne again. Otherwise she’s got me backed into a corner and I’d have to unleash… her… she thought, suddenly remembering about the other “plan” she had in mind; but it would have to be done once she found an opening! Only thing is, how the hell can I bypass the Stealth Rock, they’re everywhere on my side of the field… she thought, trying to figure another way out of the sticky situation she was now in. think, man. Think! It’s easy enough if you can find the loophole!
used Bubblebeam x3! First wave fired off in a straight line; second done in a fan-sweeping motion; third fired as an overhead hazard warning should the Graveler go sky-high.

Golden light, tunnel white. If I run to you, would you stay? I might be a prototype, but we’re both real inside.
Roxanne was not taking this chance. As the Empoleon fired off the first two Bubble Beams, she recalled the Graveler quickly and replaced it with a familiar face. The Cradily hit the ground, taking the first wave of bubbles before it roared. The field around the two Pokemon whipped up a sandstorm again, protecting the Cradily a bit from the second Bubble Beam. Because the third was fired off extremely high, the bubbles crashed into the ceiling above and caused it to crumble, pieces falling to the floor near the Cradily.
The large plant like Pokemon roared again, the stems near its head fired off and grabbed some of the pieces of rocks. The Cradily snorted and threw the pieces of rocks at the Empoleon, almost as if it had used something like Rock Throw. There was not much her Cradily could do against the Empoleon, but the Bubble Beam was something that was too risky for her Graveler to take right now. If she could force a switch, Roxanne would be in a better position.

She was hoping that the battle would end quickly, because the longer it drew on, the lower the chances of winning looked for Izumi; at least she was trying to get the Graveler down so that she could claim victory—however this was not the case! The Graveler had vanished, to be replaced by the Cradily that she’d seen from earlier—and then the weather then went berserk all over again! That, is the problem I have to get rid of. The Sandstorm did a number on my Froslass, that’s for sure… she thought as squinting through the resurfaced grit, she saw a rock coming her way! Wait a second, how can it know… time to deal with the obstacles then, she thought as she then issued the orders, “Shoot that thing out of the sky! Bubblebeam it, throw it aside, and…” she trailed off, watching as the Empoleon then sprang into action, undaunted by the Speed reduction it had received; even if it was slightly slower, she was not going to risk going in up close and attempting a physical attack on the Cradily at this point! The Empoleon then nodded, before seeing the incoming projectile and then firing off a Bubblebeam right at it in order to shoot the incoming rock out of the battlefield!
It then exploded and fell into bits and pieces, then waited for further instructions. Should I? Well, I better! Time to bring the hurting down… and here we go! She mused to herself, cupping her hands to her mouth and then calling over the howl of the Sandstorm, “Get moving, snipe it with the signal maneuver we practiced once you’re in place!” she continued; her sentence actually hid a piece of code within it; for it was time to bring out the actual smacking! The Emperor ‘mon then positioned to move slightly off to one side, out of sight of the Cradily’s line of vision, before quickly taking a deep breath—and instead of blasting an aquatic stream of bubbles, this time it gathered a beam of sinister energy that shimmered a faint greenish hue as it then let loose with a Signal Beam attack! That was just the first beam; and as soon as she saw it fired, she then continued, “Again! Signal maneuver, full power!” and then the Empoleon gathered the same sinister energy that it had shot off earlier, firing off another Signal Beam, this one slightly behind the first one that was now careening across the battlefield, headed towards the Cradily.

The Empoleon was not giving up it seemed, neither was it's trainer. The make shift Rock Throw was blasted away by the Bubble Beam, shattering and pieces falling to the ground. When the Empoleon took a breath, the Cradily panicked and used Constrict to grab a large rock from the ground. The Pokemon shoved it in front of him, blocking the one Signal Beam as it hit the rock. Lowering it out of curiosity, the Cradily's vines lowered the rock for a mere second. However, that was a mistake. The second Signal Beam blasted into him, knocking the Cradily back a bit across the field.
Roxanne, though, was not worried. Instead, this gave her the perfect chance. The Gym Leader returned the Cradily quickly and swapped it back out for the Graveler again. However, upon entrance, the Graveler hit the ground loudly and roughly. The ground shook violently, an Earthquake being used upon entrance. Roxanne smirked, but waited to see what her challenger could do. If they did have any Flying types, they would run into a little surprise.

Swapped in for Graveler, who used Earthquake upon entrance

The incoming rock that was launched by the Cradily threw Izumi into a state of temporary confusion—how was a Grass-type like that supposed to have access to the move? Shoot, stupid, the fossils are part-Rock, should’ve known! She thought angrily to herself as thankfully, one of her attacks managed to blast through and shoved back the Cradily some ways. However, it wasn’t the end yet—as Roxanne quickly showed that she still had an ace in the hole—recalling the Cradily and sending in the problematic Graveler that she really wanted to take down and out—but a violent rumbling shook the battlefield; it was one she knew all too well! “Crap. Nixe! Get back here!” she almost screamed, diving for her Safari Ball, but it was too late… the Earthquake had wrecked and done a number on Nixe, and she visibly cringed, because Empoleon just happened to be part-Steel; and Steel types were ironically weak to Ground-type attacks...
She could only watch in horror as the Empoleon tried to stand tall even as the Earthquake had ripped through the already-trashed arena, only to have her fall down at the last few seconds… and her own hands were already on the Love Ball she had at this point. Was it… did it really mean that she was not meant to fight against other people, even if they were Gym Leaders? Or did she just… suck so much that she could only fight against wild ‘mons out in the world? She didn’t realize it, but she’d fallen to her knees out of shock; her Empoleon’s Safari Ball having rolled down and out of her jacket. “Ugh…” she muttered to herself a few moments later, before plucking it up and recalling the passed-out Empoleon on the field. “Game over, I guess…” she muttered to herself; while looking down at the two PokeBalls that had two passed-out, exhausted ‘mons within them.
“I’m out, it’s a best out of three, and you won,” she said, acknowledging the defeat she’d experienced at the hands of Roxanne.
