"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Another swarm recorded on the news meant another day out catching for the red head here. She liked using these swarms as opportunities to train new aditions to her team, and today was no different. In fact, today was somewhat special. She'd been meaning to try new flyers for her team out for a while, afterall it was hardly fair on enzo that he take her everwhere. Sure now and then she got a flight on Goku or Rodrigez, but they were hardly safe bets, what with the Noivern's crashing habits, or Goku's intense straightline speed that was a litle too much for her to handle. She needed a more reliable flyer, like Vasta, the braviary who was currently off visiting his mother.
To this end, Yumi decided today was the day she'd try and train Charlotte, a Pidgeotto who'd truly been showing some skill in the sky, and was potentially a more nimble flyer than even her Noivern, able to fly loops round the dragon even when she wasn't able to match his impressive speed. The bird itself, still too small to hold her trainer, flew belong side them as Yumi herself rode on Enzo's back, heading out into the wilds towards were the swarm was supposedly concentrating itself. If Yumi recalled correctly, this was supposed to be a flying type, Chatot to be precise. The annoying birds never sat well with her, but they sold well to fancy businessmen Tagger dealt with. The ego fueled gents probably got off on hearing a pokemon talk back to them in their own voice.
"You okay there Charlotte?" The bird replied with a confident cry. She'd been training with the other flying types, and she felt this was certainly something she could handle on her own. With her quick flying skills and deadly attacks, she was sure she's be the master of the sky no matter what she was being pit against. With a bright smile in return, Yumi sped up the trip, quickly spotting a rather large tree in the middle of the wilds, pokemon congregating around it as the sound of chirping birds came from within, some irritatingly grating as they were mimicking random phrases from trainers who had likely passed by before her, shouting commands to one another and one even yelling out "I choose you!" right in another bird's face. Yumi swore it was one of the weirdst things she had ever seen. With her pokemon coming to a hovering halt with target in sight, Yumi gave some simple orders.
"Enzo, fire blast on the tree, but keep the temp low. The moment we fire we're going in to put it out with your wings. Charlotte? You're chasing down the smallest group of chatot that escapes, but we need at least three, got that?" The bird gave a chirp of confirmation in response, glad she wasn't just pitting herself against just one of them. Where would be the fun in that? Leaning over with a bright smile, the red headed trainer placed a gentle kiss on her beak, making the bird jolt back and tilt it's head away all tsundere, leaving Yumi to giggle as Enzo gave a hearty dragon chuckle. "Ah you new guys are so cute whenever i get lovey dovey with ya.~" With a bright smile she rested her arms crossed over enzo's head, one of the most affectionate of her pokemon and one of the few who accepted her own affection as quickly as she gabe it back when he first hatched. "Now go on, scram, need you flyin high so you can pick your target."
With another chirp, the pidgeotto flew high into the sky, taking the order and fulfilling it with gusto. Enzo and Yumi meanwhile flew lower, heading right for the huge tree as the dragon spewed a ball of concentrated flames towards the leafy top, the fire blast exploding to life a fair distance from the tree, the charizard himself roaring loudly as he flew through it, some of the leaves still catching fire, but all but a few of the chatot flying away like scared little torchic as well, leaving a happy enzo and Yumi to put out the flames, Yumi's eye tracing back up to the sky to watch what her flyer in the making was up to.
From the looks of things, she was handling herself fine. She'd become staggered by the sudden lack of airspace thanks to the scattering chatot, but soon locating the group she should follow with her keen eye, swiftly flying after them and using her quick attack to catch up with ease, her body a brown and creamy blur upon the sky as she picked her target amongst the free chatot, the leader of the small flock. If she could take him it would catch the attention of the other two. Good. Picking them off one by one would be far too easy. Another spurt of her quick attack sent her high above the leading chatot, before diving directly into it's back, catching it's music tone appendage atop it's head and dragging it down through the sky. The two other chatot screeched out and swiftly gave chase as the other bird stole their leader, rushing him through the lower forest, twigs and branches snapping against both charlotte and her prey until she was forced to release him, the chatot flying with scraps and cuts from the dive through the trees, glaring at the pidgeotto as his two back up pals guarded her other exits.
This was gonna be fun.
With the pokemon before them having struck it so swiftly, the three chatot using mirror move on the pidgeotto between them and immitating it's quick attack, becoming a green and yellow blur of a ring around it before moving in to strike. Charlotte wasn't even worried, with a spurt of agility she flew straight up, the chatot all headbutting eachother and leaving the cheeky bird to chuckle at the sight of them all crashing into one another, flapping her wings and releasing some soft down to coat them all ina feather dance, removing the potential threat of them stealing her moves once more. Sure they could if they wanted to, but it would hardly pack as much of a punch. The leader, still cut and scarred, was only more enraged, chasing the pidgeotto into the sky as Charlotte herself lead them back through the branches, her agility giving her the advantage as she flew through the branches, even the smaller chatot struggling to keep up without committing to several crashes and scrapes they'd recieved, some of which even into eachother. Charlotte just grew more and more confident in her own skills as a flyer with each passing second, coming to a halt as she finally broke out to the edge of the woords, stopping ona dime and letting the chatot fly right past her, unleashing a powerful air slash on the one chatot trailing behind, the cut of air knocking it out of flight, watching it fall towards the ground like a crashing plane as the two chatot that remained turned to face her, clearly pissed.
"Pidge-pidge~"
Giving a taunting loop-de-loop in the air, Charlotte wasn't at all surprised to see the pokemon before her get even angrier. They glance towards eachother, and suddenly Char felt a little less confident. It was the kind of look her trainer would give Ko-ken when they had a plan forming back when she was pit up against the fighter himself. The look was surely recognizeable, and just as she was about to lash out at the plotting chatot, she was met witht he culmination of their dark plot, screeching out as they sent an intense vibration through the air, their synchronoise piercing her ears as she shook and tried to control her own flight, cursing her flying typing as she tried her best to try and control herself in the air, screeching out in pain as the two chatot continued to pound her eardrums with such an intense noise. Glaring at them with what little focus she had left, flung out a whirlwind with a flick of her wing. The mighty gust of wind distracting the two chatot, seperating them and decreasing the intensity of the noise that was assaulting Charlotte, before it ultimately dissapeared into nothingness, leaving her forever thankful she may leave to hear another day. There was a clear ringing still in her ears, but compared to what it once was, it was nothing. Flicking her wings and stabilizing her flight, she sent herself towards the other chatot, leaving the scraped up leader to deal with the remains of her Whirlwind.
The Chatot in the talons of her quick attack, it began screeching out and trying to break free. Seeing the signs of another synchronoise, the mightier bird simply closed the chatots beak with her own talons, trying to keep it shut tight, hearing the muffled screeches of the bird through his beak, grinning wide with her own as she finally slammed it into the ground, her wings still keeping her above the earth as she used her quick attack speed once more, flying along the ground, dragging the chatot along through the mud, ultimately flinging it to skim accross the earth like rocks, another wide and confident grin meeting her beek as she made sure to swiftly stabilize her flight once more, knowing full well the battle wasn't over yet. She turned to look for the chatot, only to feel the beak of her smaller foe impaling her chest as she was struck with a quick attack, screeching our once more, more in shock than actual pain, as she soon realized her earlier feather dance had practically made her little foe harmless, leaving her with a grin as she swiftly removed herself from the chatot's grasp, spraying a volley of airslashes in it's direction, alarmed when the chatot disrupted them with a loud uproar, vibrating the concentrated air slash until it was no more and flying straight for Charlotte. So the leader was gonna put up a fight was he? So be it...
A short distance away, done with her work in putting out her own firey mess, Yumi was riding on enzo in the direction her Pidgeotto had flown, carefully scanning the skies and ground alike for the pokemon she'd lost sight of a while ago now. She was worried the bird had been overwhelmed, afterall the chatot would have access to a wide variety of sound moves, and those were near impossible to dodge even in the best circumstance. "She's gotta be round her somewhere...WOAH!" Tugging hard on Enzo's horns, evasive manuvers were in order as her bird and another chatot leaped up through the trees, screeching at eachother as they slashed at one another with their deadly talons, constant uses of quick attack and mirror move putting them ina nearly endless cycle of attacks too fast for Yumi to keep up with. Her eyes just darted between them as the two birds clashed in the air, flying towards eachother, staggering on one another's attacks, before looping around for yet another strike.
"..." Yumi glanced at Enzo. The Dragon gave a knowing glance as they exchanged the surprised looks on their faces. The dragon was certainly out of a job as top flyer for the team.
The two bird's, in their own time, felt like this had been going on for eternity. To the world it was a few seconds, but with the heightened perception of their constant speedy attacks. Innevitably, Charlotte knew she had to switch it up. The high speed was draining her stamina and she knew the same was coming of the chatot. With another flap of her powerful wings she unleashed a spray of down accross the sky, weakening the chatot as the two collided again, the Pidgeotto now clearly coming out on top and striking the chatot hard, pushing it down to the ground in a dive bomb back through the trees. A little shocked, Yumi was quick to follow with enzo taking her down, hopping off the dragon the moment they landed, Charlotte was left standing beside a small mound of dirt centered around a chatot, panting with heavy breaths as she looked to her trainer with a weak smile, cuts and scrapes covering her too, but nowhere near the injuries the Chatot had suffered.
Yumi just stared at her in awe, a smile creeping onto her lips. "You...are bloody amazing Charlotte."

i hope you get shot and expire
It wasn't very often that White liked to pass so close to town, this close to people. Today he found it to be a necessary evil, for the sake of the greater bird in himself. The passing storm, or something, has caused a large flock of migrating Chatot to land in Bosky. He had been quite a bit away when he heard of this, but had high tailed it in that direction as soon as he could. It had taken a few days, but the potential to add another flying friend to his family was always welcome. The best course of action was maybe... with food, he had guessed. It was easy enough to trade a few coins to a shopkeeper for a fresh loaf of bread. They didn't stare at him and his ragged self too much either, which he was thankful for. It was strange, though. When he got outside. He could hear the Chatot calling from all around, but never saw one.
Until he made it all the way to the park, a rain soaked bench, and sat down. White sighed and took a bite out of the loaf, staring at the ground in front of him. Absently, he broke off a piece of the bread in his hand and crumbled it up, tossing it on the ground. He mostly managed to avoid a puddle, so the bread wouldn't turn into disgusting mush that no Pokemon would eat. He sighed and closed his eye, waiting patiently for the chance to impress one of the birds. The key with birds was patience. They tended to be skittish and wary by nature, so if you were still and proved not to be a threat, usually one would approach you sooner or later.
White wasn't sure how long he sat there before there was a fluttering of wings and a small chirp next to him. It was a Chatot, like he had wanted. It was so tiny, much smaller than he recognized the breed should have been. He wondered if it was perhaps still a baby, but it didn't have any fluff left on the odd music note shaped extension from its head. That told him that this one was fully grown... just very small. A dwarf perhaps, the runt of the nest who had somehow managed to survive the wilds to make it to adulthood. It was also a very strange color, pink where blue should have been and more strange mixes of colors. Unusual, but White liked unusual things.
"I won't hurt you." He murmured softly. Slowly sliding what was left of the bread over, White offered it to the Chatot and looked away. At least, he turned his head away, but still kept a close eye on the small bird. Only half the size of the normal Chatot... but he was still eager to make this bird his friend. A small Chatot was better than no Chatot at all, and this one probably needed him more that a regular one anyway. He could see its wings were a little deformed in places, a little too big for its body that had put stress on the joints. He imagined it got tired very easily because of it. It was missing feathers in places too. Didn't look like an attack from what little he could gleam from just looking, so his guess was on malnutrition. Even if this pokemon didn't go with him, he was glad just to give it some much needed food.
Hopping over, the Chatot peeped lightly and dug its beak eagerly into the bread. It didn't seem to mind that White was even there. Its little tail move back and forth as it ate, occasionally making more small chirps of delight. The blue haired man smiled, pleased with himself. He looked up for a moment, seeing a flock of Chatot streaking across the sky. In that moment, there were more wing-beats and the Chatot next to him let out a sharp cry. He snapped his head back down. The smaller one was puffed up and lingering over the bread, with two more Chatot on the back of the bench. They were in an attack position, clearly trying to take the bread. It was a shame, there was more than enough for the three of them, but they didn't look willing to share. They were so large, too, that the two of them could rip the smaller one to shreds in an instant if they really wanted. Quickly, White stood up. With one hand, he swiped at the two larger Chatot, making them flutter back for a moment. With the other, he jerked two pokeballs out of his jacket quickly and released his pokemon.
Sword and Shield fluttered our quickly. The Tailow and Pidove seemed confused, but White let out a low whistle and they both jolted into battle position. The two stunned Chatot regained their composure, angry now. One of them fluttered forward and opened its beak, a powerful shock of noise escaping from it. "Defend!" White's voice, could barely be heard over the sound, but his pokemon knew what to do. Sword flitted in front of the small Chatot, the Tailow keeping guard on it with her own body. Shield then moved in front of Sword, blocking them both off, and raised up a Protect attack. The barrier absorbed the attack smoothly. Flying up and over it, Sword dived down at the two Chatot. She was quickly gaining speed and her body started to glow a bright blue. She slammed into the closest of the pair, the one who had attacked. The Chatot cried out in pain, but didn't look ready to quit. Sword circled back around, panting some, and then Shield pushed forward. His barrier broken, he spread his wings and shot a large gust of air at the two Chatot, lots of feathers dancing off his wings in a Feather Dance attack. The two Chatot seemed bothered, which White hoped was good. The small Chatot, the one that they were defending, watched all of this with wide eyes.
Sword landed neatly beside of the small Chatot, puffing up her blue feathers and letting out a long breath. She just needed a quick break for a second; Brave Bird always took a lot out of her tiny body. Shield was there to pick up the slack while she got her breath back, though. The second Chatot, the one who hadn't been attacked, gave an angry cry and surged forward. It aimed at Sword, but Shield dove into the attack and took the hit, a Fury Attack making the sharp claws rake over him three times. He was lucky that his earlier Feather Dance had weakened it by a great deal. It still hurt, still, he retaliated quickly, spreading his wings and shooting two scythe like blades of wind at the two birds. It... missed. But that was part of the trick. They circled back around, like a boomerang, each one hitting a Chatot from behind. The first one squawked loudly and started to fly off, clearly thinking this wasn't worth it anymore. The second lingered for only a moment longer, taking in that it was outnumbered before making an angry noise and flying off as well.
Pleased with his Pokemon, White, held out his arm for Sword and Shield to land on. They both did, and he carefully scratched his two pokemon when he did. Curious, and seemingly grateful for the help, the small Chatot hopped up on his arm as well. It cooed lightly, hopping closer to his head and nuzzling against his chin lightly. White gave a soft laugh, pleased. "You can come with me if you want." He said softly. "I can protect you from more bullies like that."

"Zumi's cute! Zumi's cute!"
"Oh SHUUUUUUUUUUUUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!"
What had Josh done to this thing to deserve such a fate? He had been talking on the phone with Kouji not long ago about the whole deal with Izumi. And what had Josh stupidly done? Made a joke about how he could admit Izumi was "sort of cute I suppose". What he didn't realize was that he was in the presence of a Chatot. And what could Chatot do? Imitate. IMITATE. AND REPEAT. And somehow, it kept shouting "Zumi's cute!" Over and over again! And it hadn't left them alone! Weren't wild Pokemon supposed to leave you alone after they were done with you? If that were the case, this thing should have left a long time ago. But it'd been here for an hour, chattering and annoying the almighty hell out of the blonde during the picnic he'd set up. He even tried chucking berries at it! Nothing worked.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" The Chatot would repeat, causing the young man to twitch a bit. Oh my dear lord. This thing was getting on his last nerve. He growled and stared the Chatot down. "Alright, that's it.... I'm going to catch you. And then shove you in a closet so nobody has to hear you again!" Josh would yell at the Chatot. "Never again! Never again!" It would repeat and Josh would look over at the picnic blanket and the Pokemon eating on it. "Petri, you're up!" Josh would call to his Archen, who would nod. "Archen!" Petri responded as he would gobble down the muffin he was eating before flying up into the air. "Thrash!" Josh would call as Petri would lunge for the Chatot, who would go for a nosedive and dodge. It would suddenly do a u-turn and go for Uproar, shouting from the top of its lungs! "Gaaaaahhhh!" Josh called out. "I almost preferred the annoying imitations!” He cried out. The Archen was having trouble too, and was starting to lose his balance. “Hold out, Petri! Hold on!” Josh would call out to the Archen. It wasn’t long before the Uproar would end, but Josh knew it was only temporarily. “Hurry, use Dragon Claw!” Josh would call as the Archen’s claws on its wings would turn green as it would slash at the Chatot, which it would dodge. “Again! Again and again! Don’t let it escape!” Josh would call as the Archen would slash over and over at the Chatot, which it annoyingly dodged over and over. Chatot would fly past a tree, and Josh would call for Dragon Claw again as the Archen would charge toward it again, firing another Dragon Claw, one that hit this time. Chatot would flinch, but when it tried to attack, it would eat another Dragon Claw, sending it back. This time, Chatot was in full serious mode as it would fly back at it, suddenly nailing the Archen with a series of Peck attacks, over and over again! “Don’t give up! I know you can do this!” Josh would call to the Archen as he would finally dodge one of the Pecks, using Dragon Claw and slamming Chatot straight into a tree, leaving a hole in the bark where the Chatot had slammed into. “Use Rock Slide!” Josh would call as the Archen would sudden a series of large rocks, before they were sent flying toward the tree. The attack would knock the tree over, separating it from the center as the part the Chatot was inside would crash to the ground.
“Whew… I think it’s over” Josh remarked. But nope! Chatot, that resilient little bugger, wasn’t finished! He would suddenly fly out of the hole and unleash the Uproar again, trying to make up for its last chain being destroyed when it was attacked. “Gaaaah…” Josh muttered as he held his ears, as did the Archen, who would crash into another tree due to being left unbalanced because of it. “Alright, we need to end this now! Finish it with Dragon Claw!” Josh would call. “ARRRCHEEEEEEN!” Petri would call out as both of his claws would turn green as he charged at the Chatot, trying to survive despite the massive uproar it was creating. It managed to hit despite the pain, and Chatot would go flying, slam, right into a rock wall. It would flop down to the ground, down for the count!
“Alright, Petri! Great job!” Josh praised as he would grab a Pokeball from his bag and toss it at Chatot.
