i want to break away and take the leap
As sad as it was to say, Heath was worried his business might have been in decline. Already, not long after taking over for his mom! His only customer had been his longtime crush, and he had just given him stuff instead of charging him, too. It hadn't seem right to ask the Bug Gym Leader to cough up any cash at the time; he still felt iffy about it even. Its not like he really blamed anyone, though. He just didn't have the reputation or selection that his mom had. All he had were a Combee and a Joltik, and while he thought they were cool, he knew that unless he could get some more Pokemon willing to stock up his lot of eggs he was done for. No one was beating down the door for either pokemon as it was, and it wasn't fair to overwork poor Pokey and Honey like that anyway! They were his friends, not machines just meant for breeding!
This is why Heath was outside of town, wandering around. The pink haired man didn't really like going outside of town very often. He knew he wasn't strong like most Trainers were, and he really had no interest in battling. Still, he had blown the last of his cash on empty Pokeballs and was determined to stay out here until he filled them! Plus, it was good for his Pokemon to get out every once in a while. He knew they liked this type of thing and felt bad they were cramped up in his tiny little shop so often. A day to enjoy the sunshine and coming spring would be good fro them, he was sure.
Shrugging his bag on his shoulder some more, Heath stopped walking and looked around. Well, town was out of sight. Mostly all around was just tall grass, the small dirt path he had been traveling down growing more and more green as he went. Soon it would be nothing but grass and fighting through thickets. Just this short walk had tuckered him out, but a small respite was close by at least. A beaten down area full of brightly colored flowers. That would be a good place to stop, he was sure! Plus, Honey would enjoy it. Speaking of which, Heath took out one of his pokeballs and called the bee pokemon out.
Honey gave a lazy yawn and blinked, buzzing in place. "Come over here and enjoy yourself, Honey." Flopping on his butt in the middle of the flowers, Heath smiled at his Pokemon and made a relieved noise. So far he hadn't really found anything... which sucked. Honey flitted over to the flowers and busied himself with disturbing the pollen on them. Well, at least his pokemon seemed to be happy. At least he had that much.
