Now that Damian and his companion had been reunited, the now-reconciled odd couple then began to traverse down the corridor, away from the room where they’d finally managed to find each other. “Look, Claire,” he began, addressing the Ampharos with a knowing air, “…if you wander away from me again the next time, and I’m not around, would you be able to fend for yourself? Would you be able to find me?” he remarked, while looking around at the section of ruins that they were currently walking through.
“I can’t be there all the time; and that goes even double from you. I know you came from that girl, but all the same, please don’t be such a hard head, okay?” he continued in a softer tone, to which the Ampharos bleated a sheepish reply.
They were now on speaking terms again, the Ampharos then pointed forward, as if she’d spotted something from afar. “Hm? What is it?” he inquired, squinting as best as he could into the distance, trying to pick out what she’d seen—and what he was about to walk into. Professor or not, he knew that the reduced light in the Ruins was messing with his vision, and that he needed another source of light; the better to be able to traverse the treachery that was called the Mega Ruins. “I think I see something… come on, let’s go!” he shouted, quickly picking up the pace, breaking out into a quick run—before looking over his shoulder.
The Ampharos then followed him at her own pace; and the two then made a break for the thing that the female Wool ‘mon had spotted, hoping that it was something worth rushing headlong into!
