The closest city with a forest in it was Bosky Hamlet, and that still meant that Ace had to take a train ride there. But he didn't mind it too much, besides, Ziggy loved train rides. The reason that he needed to go into a forest was because he wanted to see if he could get Bugger to evolve. The Larvesta had been battling a decent amount over the past few weeks, but the Bug hasn't changed at all yet. Whether or not that was because of Ace or Bugger was still beyond him. Trainers didn't really do much to help their Pokemon evolve except have them battle wild Pokemon, right? He was pretty sure Bugger didn't need a stone or anything like that either.
The train ride went smoothly and once they got into the station, Ace jogged down to the forest on the outskirts of town. He didn't have too much time to waste, so hopefully there were some wild Pokemon somewhere. Ziggy stood near Ace's feet, staring at the area around them and wondering just how much of a good idea it was to bring a Fire type into a forest...

Ace was a little surprised that a wild Pokemon had crossed their paths already. Ziggy poked at his ankle, pointing towards the Pumpkaboo that was wandering on by. Ace watched as the Pokemon hovered near one of the trees, inspecting it for food. Those things were half Grass if he was correct, which meant Bugger would have an easy time against it, right? Type differences were important, or at least Ace thought they were. The whole battling thing was still new to him. He reached for Bugger's Pokeball and released the Larvesta from his Pokeball.
Bugger was released and the Larvesta shook his sleepiness off. "Alright, Bugger, go get that pumpkin... thing!" Ace called out. The Larvesta turned his attention towards the Pumpkaboo a few feet away and nodded, moving his way over to the unsuspecting Ghost. Before Bugger actually caught the Pumpkaboo's attention, the Larvesta closed his eyes and calmed his mind, blocking out all distractions from his mind to raise his special attack and defense once. However, this gave the Ghost type enough time to turn around and noticed the Larvesta moving in on it.
Now realizing that it was under attack, the Ghost type backed up and screeched. A Shadow Ball formed and was fired forward, hitting Bugger as he was meditating in his Calm Mind. The Bug type was sent back a few feet, shaking the impact off and opening his eyes. Bugger scrunched his nose up and whipped his head. A String Shot was fired off and latched onto the Pumpkaboo's body, wrapping the Pokemon up and preventing it from moving freely. The Ghost type wasn't pleased in the slightest. It struggled and struggled from the sticky web until it freed itself, but some of the web still stuck to its feet. But while it was busy with the String Shot, Bugger had summoned a Sunny Day. The field lit up in light, raising Bugger's fire power even more.
On top of the Sunny Day, the Larvesta was preparing one more thing. The Larvesta closed his eyes once more, calming his mind once more and raising his special stats by another stage. But the Pumpkaboo took it upon itself to attack again. This time, a large seed was dropped and exploded in front of the Larvesta, breaking the Calm Mind and causing Bugger to look up. But at this point, it was too late. Combined with the plus two special attack and the Sunny Day, it was all over for the Pumpkaboo. A Heat Wave rushed through the area, catching the Grass type within. The type disadvantage worked in Bugger's favor and the Pumpkaboo was down for the count before it even knew what happened. Ace and Ziggy rushed on over and stared down at the fainted Ghost type. "You really went all out, didn't ya Bugger?" Ace said in surprise as he tossed an empty Pokeball at the fallen Pokemon.

The Pumpkaboo was caught and it wasn't long after that when Ace decided it was time to head home. However, before he and Ziggy could even move a foot, a humming in the air stopped both of them in their tracks. Slowly, the pair turned around, and the sight they saw was rather intimidating. A flock of Altaria and Swablu flew above head, passing right by Ace and Ziggy below. However, they didn't go far. Instead, the flock landed directly in front of the two. Ace blinked and glanced down at Ziggy. It wasn't often you saw a flock of Swablu or Altaria. Maybe it would be worth while to catch one Altaria. A bribe for whenever Eileen did Eileen things.
VS
"Alright, let's try it." Ace said as he pulled out two Pokeballs. Released next to Ziggy were two other Pokemon. Bugger and Max stood ready and waiting to go to pick a single Altaria off. However, it was gonna be risky. If Ace angered one Altaria, it wouldn't be long before the entire flock came to the one's rescue, so they had to make this quick. The group crept around the flock, waiting until one Altaria drifted away from the flock, and when that happened, Ace gave the signal for his Pokemon to go.
Ziggy started things off. An electrical charge shot up and down her tail before it was released. Although it wasn't a Thunderbolt, the Thunder Wave found its target, paralyzing the Altaria before it knew what hit it. The dragon type shivered as the electric move rushed through its body and looked around to see Ziggy. However, she wasn't alone. Along side her was a Larvesta and Jolteon, who stood confidently next to her. "Uhhh, okay. Bugger, Heat Wave. Max, Thunderbolt, you too Ziggy!"
Although Bugger had the type disadvantage, the Larvesta didn't let that intimidate him. The Pokemon chattered to himself as he took a breath, releasing the intense wave of heat. The Altaria withstood the attack well and almost shook the entire move off, it had barely hurt. The type and evolution difference was enough to make Bugger almost useless. However, it provided enough distraction. Two Thunderbolts shot through the air, striking the Altaria down.
The dragon type fell to the ground, the electricity running through its body and preventing it from escaping. So far, so good. The Altaria was quiet and hadn't attracted attention from the flock just yet, and by the looks of it, the Pokemon appeared weakened. However, the Altaria was slowly getting up to its feet, which meant it still wanted to fight. All three of Ace's Pokemon readied themselves, and it was a good thing they did.
Despite the paralysis, the Altaria screeched and took to the air. Only a few feet off the ground, the Altaria raced towards Bugger. "Max! Intercept!" Ace yelled. If the Altaria was aiming to hit Bugger with a flying move, then it was all over for the small Pokemon. Thankfully, the Altaria's speed was low, giving the Jolteon enough time to dash in front and take the brunt of the Pluck. The Altaria's beak pecked at the Jolteon's fur, plucking out whatever it could. Growling in annoyance, Max took the opportunity to release another Thunderbolt.
The Thunderbolt tossed the Altaria off, leaving it weaker as it laid on its side. Ziggy took the chance and drew a breath, releasing it and creating an Icy Wind. The ice type move proved super effective and caused the Altaria to flinch in pain. Although the Pokemon tried to stand, even attempting to get back into the air, Bugger moved underneath the dragon. A String Shot fired upward, latching onto the Altaria's wings and he tried to pull the Pokemon back down to earth. Max came forward as well, pulling on the make shift leash and dragging the Altaria back down.
Struggling as hard as it could, the Altaria screeched. Suddenly, a Mist appeared out of the Pokemon's body, startling Bugger and Max, making them let go of the leash. The Pokemon fell out of the air anyway, landing on the ground and shaking its head as it looked towards the trio. Another Icy Wind came through the air, chilling the Altaria's spine and making it flinch in pain again. Bugger and Max attacked as well, another Heat Wave and Thunderbolt coming through the air. Finally, the Altaria fell to the trio and groaned as it lost consciousness. Ace cheered his Pokemon on, praising them as they returned to his side. However, their celebration was cut short, when three other Altaria came out of the flock, and none of them looked happy.

"You know, maybe this training trip was a bad idea. I think we wandered in at the wrong time of year." Ace stated as the three Altaria moved forward, each with their wings spread and humming rather angrily. Was it even possible to hum angrily? Well, these Altaria were managing it.
VS
"Okay... so, same plan as before just... against three?" Ace said hopefully. He was really hoping his Pokemon could actually handle three fully evolved Pokemon. Sure, Ziggy had an ice type move. But that was one. One little Icy Wind wasn't going to bring down half a horde of Altaria. The three Pokemon looked at Ace and looked at each other hesitantly. They were able to take down one Pokemon and that took a while, how long was it going to take to take down three more at once? However, they didn't have much of a choice. The Altaria began to attack.
All three squawked and dashed forward. Each of the Altaria were attacking with a Take Down, and it didn't take long for Ace's Pokemon to scatter. Everyone ducked and dodged out of the way, rolling in the grass and getting separated from one another. The Altaria looped back around to the air, staring down at the scattered team below. Max, Ziggy and Bugger scrambled to get back together and stick to each other's side. They couldn't afford to split right now. "Ziggy, Icy Wind! Max, spam the hell out of Thunderbolt. Use Helping Hand on Ziggy. Bugger, Sunny Day and spam Heat Wave!" Ace called out. At this point, this was their best option.
Each Pokemon nodded and began to attack the Altaria back. Max glowed a light blue color, the same outline spread to Ziggy and powered up her next move. The Zigzagoon took a breath and exhaled, releasing a Icy Wind that blew towards the Altaria in the air. She kept her attack going, making the move spread to hit the rest of the Altaria as well. Bugger called the sun out once again and summoned the Heat Wave that brushed across the field. Max then followed his cue and spammed three Thunderbolts, each aiming for the Altaria in front of them.
Luckily for Ace and his Pokemon, the first Altaria that was hit with the Helping Hand Icy Wind was brought to the ground, although not fainted. However, the other two Icy Winds that Ziggy had created didn't have Helping Hand behind them, and seemed to pose as more of an annoyance than an attack. The Heat Wave basically tickled the Pokemon, even with the Sunny Day boosting Bugger's moves. Only Max's attacks did any real damage, the three Thunderbolts were too quick to dodge and each Altaria were electrocuted by the attack. However, despite the barrage of attacks, the flock of birds hummed in annoyance and prepared to attack again. Each dove down and sped forward, rushing head first in a Take Down.
This time, Ace's Pokemon weren't so lucky. Ziggy and Max had managed to dodge the Take Down, but one of the Altaria had nailed Bugger right in the side. The little Pokemon was knocked a few meters away, skidding in the grass before finally landing beside a tree. "Bugger!" Ace called out, rushing over to see if the Larvesta was okay. He picked up the Pokemon, brushing off the grass and leaves before letting Bugger back on the ground. He was beaten and sore, but Bugger wanted to fight. He scuttled his way back to the battle field, where Ziggy and Max were still fighting the Altaria.
Ziggy managed to nail the weak Altaria in the face with a Icy Wind, and Max followed up with a Thunderbolt. The Altaria fell out of the air and crash landed into the ground below, next to it's previously fallen comrade. The remaining two dragons stared down at Ziggy and Max with disgust. The two Pokemon separated from each other and began humming intensely. Soon, the two Pokemon became engulfed in a bright light. Once Ace and Bugger finally rejoined the two Pokemon, they looked to the sky and their faces paled. "Oh boy, that's not good." Ace said, panic rising within him. "We need to bring them down, quick! I don't know what that is but it can't be good. Go all out you guys!"
The three Pokemon didn't hesitate. Each repeating their attacks from before on both Altaria. Ziggy released two Icy Winds that blew through the air towards the Altarias' faces. Max let loose two Thunderbolts, and Bugger summoned two more Heat Waves to raze the field. The Altaria in the air were too focused on channeling their Sky Attacks they didn't see the attacks incoming. Each attack made a direct hit, leaving the two remaining Pokemon scored and weakened. They dropped out of the air like dead weight, right onto their previously fallen comrades.
Out of breath and energy, Ace's Pokemon stared at each other and then flopped down on the ground to rest. Ace couldn't really blame them, it was a hard and long fought battle for them. Well, for them at least. They were out of shape when it came to battling. He turned towards the Altaria and found it unsettling to see a pile of four unconscious birds in the middle of a forest. He pulled out four Ultra balls from his pockets and tossed them each at the Altaria.
