It had been sometime since her last travail in the Safari Zone, and she was now back for some more. Izumi was a bit peeved at being unable to find a Fennekin for Josh; however she’d gotten another Shieldon; and since she’d sold the first one she’d caught the last time, this one she’d acquired was going to be her shot at redemption at raising it from zero. Well, at least I now have one that’s got a more workable move pool… she mused to herself with a thoughtful look on her face as she then went out once again to Nue’s version of the Safari Zone and had proceeded to hand the tag over; before submitting to the body search and frisking.
Several minutes later, she was then allowed access into the Safari Zone; and since she didn’t have a definite destination in mind, she then decided to take a travail through Area One; otherwise known as the place that had a lot of Grass-types grazing through the fields. Well, I did bring Ravana along, so it’s kind of perfect… but yeah, Zan needs to whup-ass some more of them wild ‘mons… he’s still lacking in a few areas somewhere… she continued to think as she then directed her footfalls towards all the greenery; hoping to catch sight of something she… well, we’d best wait and see as to what it is that came dancing across her path, hm?

The loud rustling noise was more than enough to make the raven-haired Trainer look up; because whatever was approaching, it sure knew how to make an entrance! Knowing that she had to gain the element of surprise on this incoming…creature as much as it wanted to catch her off-guard, she had mere moments; without further ado she plucked out two of the three containment units and sent them high, watching as they popped open and released their occupants in a flash of red light. She then watched as the first one transformed into a rather hot-headed Charmeleon, who landed on the grass with a thumping noise; while the second one materialized, hovering above the grass and glimmering a shade of pink so unusual it was unnatural for their species.
“Alright… Zan, set up with your Reflect and Light Screen combination, and get ready to move with Agility afterwards. Ravvie, get goin’ with your Dragon Dance, do it twice. We need to be prepared for whatever’s coming,” Izumi began; keeping an eye out on the rustling bushes—it sure was getting a bit loud. The Metang then waved its pink arms around, before conjuring not just one, but two protective barriers that snapped into place before vanishing—while the Charmeleon was concentrating, letting the steps of the mystic move known as Dragon Dance, feeling the wellspring of power boosting up her stats considerably. “Alright, do your Agility twice now, Zan. We have to prepare for anything—be it hell or high water. Ravvie, do your Dragon Dance twice more…” she trailed off, folding her arms and watching, waiting for the source of the rustling to finally reveal itself.
Once the Metang had increased its movement speed not just once but twice (and the Charmeleon had done the mystical dance twice more) the source of the rustling finally made its appearance—and she was taken aback; how the hell did Iris end up here?! No, wait, that’s not Iris. That’s just something that looks like her. Take it easy… she mused to herself; before watching the Treecko come in for a close Quick Attack… on the Metang! Sometimes they just don’t know when to give up… she continued to think as she watched, slightly amused, as the Treecko slammed itself into the Metang—but it only felt like a ticklish feather brushing against the Metang’s arms! “Heh. Slug it now with your Zen Headbutt, Zan! Ravvie, move along and try to catch that Treecko once Zan bats it your way!” she continued, watching as the Charmeleon maneuvered itself around the field, before standing nearly opposite the pink Metang.
As the Treecko rounded up for another attempt at Quick Attack, it was caught by surprise as it was suddenly batted back—by the Metang’s Zen Headbutt! The Grass-type then let out a squeal, before being forced backwards—right into the Charmeleon’s waiting arms. “Ravvie! Flamethrower that Treecko as it comes close, and bat it back towards Zan!” she continued, watching as the Carmeleon’s maw opened wide, before releasing a steady stream of flames; causing the Grass-type to shriek out loud as the flames made contact with its body. “Stronger! Go, Ravvie!” she continued, and the stream of flames that the Charmeleon was breathing out grew in size, forcing the Treecko to dash backwards—right into the Metang’s next attack. “Zan! Alright, it’s headed back to you! Bullet Punch it once it comes close!” she continued—but she wasn’t exactly expecting the Treecko to quickly use Detect; and the shower of hard-fisted punches ended up hitting nothing but air—the Grass-type had moved out of the way once more!
“Grrr…” she hissed, quickly glaring at the Treecko; how was it able to block that without so much as batting an eyelash?! The Grass-type then quickly changed direction, sprinting towards where the Charmeleon stood, before launching a Pursuit attack—not that it was going to help, because there was no way in hell that she was switching out Ravana for Momiji. The Fire-type was forced backwards once the attack had connected, but she then realized that it had walked right into a trap. “Ravvie! Thunder Punch that and force it back to Zan! Zan! Close the gap with Agility and smack it with a Meteor Mash!” she called out; and watched as the Charmeleon quickly bounced back, before unloading an incoming electrified fist at the alarmed-looking Treecko, who then let out a Screech of surprise once the attack had connected. The two weren’t exactly expecting the Screech to catch them by surprise; and it allowed the Grass-type to maneuver itself out of the way—before aiming a Quick Attack at the Fire-type. “Zan! Move! Slug it out of the way with your Meteor Mash! Go!” she shouted, surprising the two shocked ‘mons on the field.
“Ravvie! I give you free rein to do what you must! You’re a big girl now!” she shouted; knowing that her Charmeleon was a bit of a hothead who was rather impatient, to boot. Smirking, as the Charmeleon had heard the ‘magic words’, it then began to move—since it had boosted itself up with Dragon Dance, her movement speed was much quicker now. The Quick Attack collided with a souped-up Slash combination, blocking the Quick Attack with one and catching the Treecko by surprise with the second. After the second Slash attack had connected, the Charmeleon then proceeded to fling her tail at it, causing the Treecko to yowl out of surprise—landing right on the receiving end of the Metang’s Meteor Mash, slugging it into the sky.
“Originally I was planning for you guys to play tennis with that Treecko as the ball, but look, Zan knocked it away… come on, let’s go…” she muttered, chuckling to herself as the Charmeleon quickly made to follow the Trainer, with the Metang following behind them.

Who knew that this trip was going to be full of irony? First it was the Treecko that reminded her of Iris; now it was going to be another familiar face that would suddenly barrel-roll out of the bushes and come to a stop in front of them; holding up its fists, ready to fight. “Panji?!” was the raven-haired Trainer’s first exclamation—because what the hell was her simian doing out here?! Oh, wait, that’s not her… calm down, you’re starting to go nuts. Calm the hell down… she thought to herself as she then pointed forward. “Alright, time to slug this one and move forward… Zan, prepare your Meteor Mash once it comes in! Ravvie, Dragon Dance, and do it twice! Go!” she shouted, watching as the two sprung forward, raring to get fighting.
The surprised Chimchar then saw the incoming blurs—first of all why was that Metang pink?! Shaking off the initial shock at the oddly-colored Metang, it then began its barrage of attacks—firstly using Acrobatics in order to catch the pink blur off-guard! The Metang had swiveled into position and was just about ready to slug the Metang into the sky—when the Acrobatics had connected, causing it to back away out of surprise! “Metaaaaang!” she heard the pink being grate out, because even if the attack had hit it (and not done anything too much) it then saw that the Chimchar was backing away—and quickly unloading a stream of flames that looked all too familiar!
“ZAN! Get moving!” she shouted; and watched as the second blur came from out of nowhere—it was her Charmeleon who’d just finished doing its Dragon Dance; and had moved forward in an attempt to block the Flamethrower! The Metang was caught by surprise as the stream of flames suddenly crashed against its body—the high-pitched cry caught the Trainer’s attention as it was enveloped in the blast of flames! Seeing that the Chimchar now had a distinct advantage, it then continued to exhale the blast of fire, effectively locking down the Metang where he hovered. “Shit,” she muttered, seeing that her pink, fabulous companion was trapped in a circle of fire that had locked him down, basically. “Ravvie! Free rein! Go!” she added, and the Charmeleon’s ears perked up as she was now given free will to go absolutely crazy.
“Zan, hang in there!” she added, cupping her hands to her mouth—because the roaring of the flames was getting way too loud and way too powerful for her liking. Now that the Charmeleon was ‘freed’ form the commands that her owner usually gave, it then proceeded to do several more Dragon Dance status changes while moving; allowing the already-boosted Speed (and Attack) boost its movement even further—and then raised an electrified fist that was crackling with Electric energy, before cutting around and appearing behind the Chimchar, unloading a souped-up Thunder Punch! The Metang was still surrounded by flames—and was completely surprised to see it suddenly petered out… revealing that the Charmeleon and the Chimchar were now locked in the middle of battle.
“Zan! Reflect and Light Screen combination; go!” she continued; before the Metang then raised its arms not once, but twice—and two distinct barriers quivered into place before snapping and vanishing from sight. The simian wasn’t amused a the sneak attack; and quickly aimed for a point-blank Flamethrower at the Charmeleon; who took the flames in stride. After all, Fire-type attacks didn’t hurt Fire-types so much did they? “Zan! Catch the Chimchar from behind! Move forward with Agility, and then sneak up on it with Bullet Punch, and end it with a Meteor Mash!” she called out, and watched as the pink blur then zipped forward, Agility boosting its movement speed. At the same time that the Chimchar was busy assaulting the Charmeleon with Flamethrower, a series of hard-fisted punches then caught it once again from behind, causing it to cry out in surprise!
Seeing that there was now an opening, the Charmeleon then quickly unloaded another Slash-combination attack, its appendages moving in a flurry of swiping moves, trapping the Chimchar between the claws and the punches it was now receiving from both sides. Now that the simian was trapped, it then decided to just take the hits…until a certain point. Little did the raven-haired Trainer realize that this simian in front of her was capable of healing via Slack Off—and it did so right at the point it looked like it was going to collapse! The two Pokémon who were now in the middle of a Slash / Bullet Punch combination were surprised to see that instead of the simian collapsing—why the hell were its wounds and scuffles regenerating?!“Renew the assault! Go, Zan! Ravana!” she yelled, watching as a light poured out of the Chimchar, seemingly healing it back up to health.
The two ‘mons were now officially annoyed; and after seeing that the Chimchar was now facing them again with a smirk on its face, redoubled their efforts—the Charmeleon unloading another series of Slash attacks; while the Metang continued its assault of hard-fisted Bullet Punches. The Chimchar continued to take the hits—while breathing out Flamethrower in the process and catching the Metang once again—while biding his time; he knew that these two would tire down and reach their limits while he could heal himself back up and take them by surprise! Now that the Charmeleon was rather annoyed at the tactic the Chimchar had employed, she then decided to change the Slashing combination into a Thunder Punch assault—and it was a literal feast of flying punches coming in from both sides; one that was crackling with electricity, the other were just that really painful.
And again, the Chimchar employed its Slack Off recovery technique—and once more, the Trainer watched as the scuffed-up monkey recovered from the assault that the two had unloaded, unleashed and pummeled into its being. “Okay, now that’s getting really annoying…” she muttered with a hiss, before suddenly getting an idea. “Ravvie! Jump up and get on Zan’s back! I figured out how to end this in one shot!” she shouted, and watching as the Charmeleon looked up; before quickly nodding and zipping around, before hefting herself into mid-air—and landing with a loud clanging noise astride the Metang. “Zan. Do it. Earthquake, make sure it doesn’t survive! I give you liberty to use Earthquake as much as you need to! If it still stands up, use your Meteor Mash and slug it into the sky! Ravvie, hang on tight! It’s going to be a bumpy ride!” she added, before quickly steeling herself and watching as the Metang then raised its pink arms; before bashing them down with a violent thudding noise on the grass.
Initially, the place was deathly quiet—then there was a sudden flurry of movement; the Trianer looked up and saw that there were several Pokémon that had taken flight out of surprise as the ground began to rumble and tremble. The Chimchar was still smirking at them—but not for long. As the first Earthquake shook through the place, the Metang then pounded its fists down again, and again—and several more instances of Earthquake ripped through the space; sending the simian squealing out of shock. “Ravvie! Hang on! Zan, move forward and use Meteor Mash!” she shouted once more; pointing forward once she’d recovered from the thrice-unleashing of the powerful Ground-type move. The Charmeleon then crouched down, before holding on as the Metang rushed forward, borne by its boosted Speed and aimed a powerful punch, sending the simian Pokémon into the sky! If that wasn’t enough, the Charmeleon quickly bore up and breathed out a burst of Dragon Pulse for good measure—that monkey was hell-ass annoying to deal with!

The moment the little simian had been slugged into the sky courtesy of her Metang’s Meteor Mash, the grass nearby began to rustle once more; and she could only clench her knuckles, trying to pick out whatever it was that was headed their way! The raven-haired Trainer waited with bated breath as the grass trembled and shook—before a blur so quick shot out right at them, she was literally taken by surprise and shrieked! “THE HELL IS THAT?!” she began, quickly backing away, trying to control her adrenaline—when she saw that it was something she didn’t have yet! Looks like this trip is a success! I found the thing I came for! she thought to herself as she felt a fit of glee coming on. “Alright, let’s get this sucker! Zan, Ravana! Let’s go!” she shouted a few moments later, pointing forward and observing the Pinsir with keen interest.
“Charrrrrrrrr.”
“Metaaaaaaaang!”
The Pinsir had already taken the necessary precautions, such as boosting himself up with Swords Dance twice; and preparing for the next attack with Focus Energy—and it felt the power coursing through its arms as it did so, literally approaching them at its best “breakneck speed” it could muster. “Zan! Reflect and Light Screen combination! Ravana! Free rein, do what you got to!” she shouted once more, folding her arms across her chest; the better to be able to watch this next bout of insanity unfold. The Metang quickly hovered himself into position; before conjuring up two distinct barriers that snapped into place across their side of the field, before vanishing from sight. The Charmeleon then began to move forward, boosting herself up with Dragon Dance in order to gain some added speed. She knew that it would take a while, but she had to be patient; and boosted herself up twice, before coming to a halt in front of the Pinsir.
The Bug-type then began to have a stare down with the Fire-type; before the Pinsir sprang forward; attacking and unloading a Double Hit attack on the Charmeleon! In order to be able to counter this, the Fire-type then quickly blocked with an electrified fist—but the Thunder Punch only served to weaken the first blow; as the second blow had left her wide open! The Trainer looked up in surprise to see that the Fire-type was slowly being batted backwards by the more aggressive Pinsir; and she began to clench her fists once more. “Come on, Ravana! You can do it! We can win! Let’s start our counter attack!” she cheered on from the sidelines, while watching as the Metang was biding its time, waiting for his turn. “Just keep the barriers up for now, Zan, no need to jump in—“ she trailed off, before watching as the Pinsir had batted the Charmeleon back with several more attempts at Double Hits; and watched as the final one slugged the Fire-type right on the jaw, sending it sprawling onto the grass!
“Ravvie!” she shrieked; wondering as to why she’d been forced backwards without a fight—to be honest the Charmeleon had tried everything; from Thunder Punch right-hook combinations to left-handed Slash straights; but it was the power of the Pinsir’s beefed-up Attack stat that had done a number on the Fire-type. Seeing that the Fire-type was now sprawled on the grass, exhausted because of continuous fighting, she knew that she was down to her Metang—because her last companion could easily wipe the floor with this Pinsir, if given the chance. “Zan! Take up the fight! I know you can take the hits! Do what you need to, because I know you hate being held back with orders…!” she shouted—unwittingly giving her Metang free rein to do whatever she needed to get to as well! Now that the pink Metang was free to do whatever it wanted, she then watched as the scene unfolded, still clenching her fists in the process.
To start off, the Metang quickly zipped forward with not just one, but two bursts of Agility; causing its own body to feel much lighter than normal; before connecting with a series of hard-fisted, Bullet Punch attacks! The Pinsir was taken aback at the sudden swiftness of the attacks; but continued to retaliate with the continuous chain of Double Hit attacks; before boosting up its attack stat further with one last application of Swords Dance! Now that its Attack power had been souped up to the max, the Pinsir then came in abnormally close—before attempting to heft the Metang into the air; in order to be able to use Submission. Unfortunately, though, due to the Metang’s inherently heavier structure, the Pinsir only succeeded in lifting up the pink Metang slightly, before falling backwards out of shock.
This little exchange then caused the watching Trainer to quirk her eyebrows up so far that they threatened to vanish into her hairline, before realizing that the Pinsir, in a way, had broadcasted its intent! “Gravity!” she shouted, watching from her current vantage point; she knew that her Ravana would eventually recover in time. “After Gravity, do what you must, beat it to a pulp if you have to!” she added, before bracing herself—she’d already witnessed first-hand what Gravity could do; and boy was it nasty.
“Metaaaaaaang,” she heard the pink being grate out, before raising both its limbs and shifting the gravity in general; forcing an invisible weight to come crashing down on the entire field. The Trainer felt the heavy pressure settling down; and noted that even if she could move around, it was going to be a bit risky. The Pinsir then noticed the subtle shifting in the environs, but didn’t know what to make of it—only when it had attempted to rush forward did it realize—what the hell was going on?!
Now that the surrounding area felt much heavier than it did earlier, the Pinsir continued to attempt to throw the Metang over with its Submission move once more—only to be batted back by the Bullet Punch assault once more. It was at this point Izumi realized that there was something coming—and she made a move to where her Charmeleon had passed out, but it was proving to be very difficult, heavy Gravity aside.
Shit, shit, shit, this was a bad idea! she mused to herself as she found herself moving very sluggishly, struggling against the heavy weight that hung all around. While she was making a course towards where her Fire-type was passed out in the grass, the Metang continued to literally… poke fun at the struggling Pinsir. As the Bug-type attempted to unload a Double Hit attack on the pink being, it was met by a blast of near-invisible energy—the Metang had gone on ahead and had used Psychic, halting the Pinsir dead in its tracks. It was at this point that the ground started to tremble.
“Oh, crap,” was all the girl had time for as she tried to lunge forward in order to be able to pick up Ravana from where she’d fallen, as an Earthquake ripped through the area! The Metang was unaffected—it was hovering off the ground—but the Pinsir wasn’t as lucky; and the jarring tremors continued to ripple through the grasslands, the Trainer looked up and saw that there were more birds sent flying due to the unnatural quaking that was now ripping through the area.
“Keep going! Subdue it, Zan!” she shouted from her current location, holding up the passed-out Charmeleon in her hands and steeling her legs as best as possible; the better to be able to hold her ground as another series of tremors; another Earthquake had ripped through the place! The shaking and quaking continued to rock through the area; until the heavy feeling of something pressing down had vanished—and she realized she could move much more freely again! The Metang continued to assault the Pinsir; this time walling it with Psychic, forcing it to stop in the middle of what it was doing—before zipping forward with another Agility and finally taking its back; and pummeling the hapless Bug-type with a Zen Headbutt, before laying down that it meant business with another series of Bullet Punches, whacking, hitting, and just basically outright flaying the Pinsir to an inch of its life!
Who knew that the Metang was going to be adversely affected by the way that the Charmeleon had been knocked down and knocked out rather unceremoniously—where was the rage coming from, anyway? The Trainer then approached the rather pissed-off looking pink Metang before whistling once again; and then tossing the Safari Ball at the Pinsir, the better to save it from further flaying and beating. “Whoa, whoa, Zan. Calm the hell down, man. Ravana’s alright, she’s just exhausted from fighting continuously…” she remarked, watching as the Bug-type was swallowed up in the flash of red light before the containment unit fell to the ground, twitching and shaking…

Izumi could definitely sense the fact that her Metang was beyond seething—it was furious! As soon as the containment unit had swallowed up the battered Pinsir, the pink Metang began to eye with much suspicion, preparing himself just in case the little sucker came out and wanted another round of flaying to another inch of its life.
Thankfully though, the containment unit went off with a loud ding; that signaled that the Pinsir had finally given up and was now going to be another part of their legions! The raven-haired Trainer was about to raise her hands in celebration when she saw something happening—what was going on?!
She then cast a glance towards her pink Metang, who looked unperturbed as the glow began to spread around its body; but it wasn’t just the Metang that was going through the change—even the exhausted Ravana was glowing as well! “Oh, don’t tell me…” she trailed off, before quickly closing her eyes as two sudden bursts of light enveloped and surrounded her two companions. She didn’t know how long she’d kept her eyes shut, but a sudden roar forced them open several moments later—and Ravana was bipedal no more; in fact she was now pretty much the same as Fawkes! “Whoa!” she cried out, the moment her evolved Charmeleon let out a blast of flames that stretched into the sky—before spreading out her newly-grown wings.
“Holy…” was all she could say—before a very loud thudding noise ripped through the clearing—and her Metang was definitely much bigger now. “Metag. Metagross,” she heard the pink entity grate out, before raising one of its four limbs up in her direction. “You guys… you both did a great job!” she began, before quickly approaching the Metagross and hugging the massive pink entity; before heading over to where Ravana was now attempting to fly and get off the ground. “Keh. We can work on flying later, Ravvie. C’mere and give me a hug,” she began, and watching as the now-Charizard slowly approached her before bumping her rather large body into hers. “Whoa… how’d you get so large…” she muttered, before wrapping her arms around the Charizard and giving Ravana a reassuring pet.
“You guys are awesome. You both did great today,” she remarked several minutes later, stepping backwards and assessing the two with a knowing eye. “Looks like things are going to get very interesting form this point on…”
