LOTHLORIEN
SHUI CITY'S GRASS TYPE GYM[attr="id","townname"]
LED BY Linden Lates[attr="id","towndesc"]
[attr="id","town"][attr="id","inside"]NESTLED DEEP within the forest of beautiful Shui City, lies the grass guardian's enchanted realm, Lothlorien. Lush green shoots tickle your calves as you wander through the foliage, while a gentle wind carries forth the steady scent of flowers. Sunshine filters down through slowly waving willow leaves, and somewhere, you hear the sound of rushing water.
With a grassy underfoot and windows adored by gossamer green curtains, trainers hoping to challenge the gym are led into a glorious clearing from which rises a towering oak tree, its intertwining branches merging together into a truly breathtaking blossom. The challenger must now navigate his or her way up hundreds of dazzlingly carved staircases which are so intricately designed they resemble more lace than wood.
AS TRAINERS begin the daunting climb, they will be faced with additional obstacles such as having to clear away vines that block their path, or manoeuvre past a hoard of poison-puffing Vileplume without harming them. Oh, and don't think fire type Pokemon won't run into problems of their own! In fact, there are quite a few traps which utilize H2O as their focal points-- one of these little surprises involves overcoming a massive wall of moving water, so watch out!
OF COURSE, keeping everyone safe is high on linden's list of priorities, which is why state-of-the-art nets have been installed throughout the premises. In addition to this, a total of three rest areas have also been constructed. These lovely little pagodas offer cooled water and freshly baked pastries-- perfect for keeping one's energy up! Finally, should any Pokemon's health drop lower than 50% of their total HP, Linden will have them fully healed before the final battle.
PERHAPS MOST impressive of all is the tremendous bloom at the tree's uppermost level. As you've probably guessed by now, this beautiful haven is where Linden awaits his challengers. The interior looks like something from a fairy tale. Gossamer-like windows give off a soft luminescence, bathing the room in a gentle green glow. At Linden's command, the walls burst open like a blossoming flower and its centre rises up, becoming a levitating arena encased by a dome of climbing roses. This is where the battle takes place, hidden away in the treetops with only the sun as witness.

[attr="id","aisle"]Challenge AVAILABILITY mirrors Lothlorien's operating hours. Note that the four week grace period is being reduced to a single week which means starting on March 18th, anyone is free to challenge Linden. Please note that school life and other complications may arise and therefore put some challenges on hold.
A Total of four challenges await you on your climb to the treetops, each one appealing to individual learning types such as Kinaesthetic, Tactile, and Audio (the order in which these obstacles appear differs for each challenger).
Waltz of the Flowers: Enchanting music lulls the challenger to dance with a swarm of Lilligant. Should the trainer be compelled to join the hypnotizing waltz, they'll end up dancing until exhaustion prevents them from continuing. The idea here is to take advantage of sound-altering moves such as Uproar or the Soundproof ability. If you do not possess a Pokemon with such capabilities, you'll have to rely on intuition and cleverness to outwit the Lilligant.
Wrath of the Forest: Attacks rain down at you from concealed hiding places in the foliage. Wrath of the Forest can be cleared in two ways: the trainer escapes without being overwhelmed, or finds a way to neutralize the concealed attackers.
Shrinking Violets: Challengers find themselves trapped inside a long, leafy corridor. Scattered across the grassy floor are hundreds of Foongus, each one bursting with poisonous powder. Trainers must navigate their way through these deadly little mushrooms while simultaneously finding a way to disperse their toxic fumes. To even the odds, multiple Pokeballs containing helpful items such as Antidotes and Potions have been hidden amongst the Foongus. Challengers can take the gamble and risk facing a hoard battle, or they can move on with no beneficial items. Unlike the previous obstacles, the Corridor of Shrinking Violets is a game of chance, meaning that all are subject to different outcomes regardless of the trainer's skills.
Puddle Jumpers: Any Fire Type Pokemon will likely find this challenge pretty rough. Trainers are required to make their way across a sprawling bayou, avoiding the Lombre and Ludicolo that live there.
LOTHLORIEN OPERATES Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The Gym is closed on all statutory holidays such as Christmas Day and New Year's. Lothlorien will occasionally host open houses in which trainers of all skill levels are welcome to tour the Gym as they please. During open houses, most of Lothlorien's traps are deactivated, letting visitors explore the building in relative safety. This is especially beneficial to potential challengers as it allows them to experience the Gym environment firsthand.
