Damian had gotten word that there was someone who was requesting for his services—in particular, it was one of the additional things that a Professor was capable of; and that was reviving Pokémon back from fossils.
He’d seen it done several times back in Arkose, but this was going to be the very first time that he himself would do it! He’d also gotten word that the individual who’d requested for a League-affiliated Professor’s services was rather…unusual; he himself had no idea that he would be meeting up with the person in question instead of having them drop by his laboratory.
Normally, League-affiliated Professors would settle down in the Bosky Hamlet, but there was something about Shui that made him decide to set up his laboratory in the city that was lost by time. He’d already alerted the people he’d stayed with at Arkose to have them directly send his things to Shui and they’d just arrived a few days prior—so he wasn’t exactly completely set up yet; just the general laboratory had been completed; his research materials along with the two hover boards and all of his equipment was still packed away.
Now, where could they be… he thought to himself as he then cut his way through the streets of Shui; marveling at the structure of everything within the unusual city. His laboratory was located in the mountainous area, near the place where the city’s Dragon-type gym had been installed; so as to not disturb the natural beauty of the old-fashioned charms that Shui provided. Once he’d scanned the message and saw that he was going to meet the person that needed his services at a certain point, he then stopped by a few stalls and asked for directions.
Several minutes later he was now headed towards the designated meeting point—and already the people were starting to stare at him. Not because of the way he was dressed; but because of his own hair… who knew that my hair would be causing such scandal… he mused to himself, a smirk crossing his features for a few seconds before he caught sight of a young lady who wasn’t facing him, that had long hair that seemingly reached down to her waist.
Noticeably, there was a subtle height difference between them, but that was neither here nor there. In any case, he then approached the figure, before announcing his presence. “Miss… Echevarria, am I correct? I’m here; the Professor that the League has sent,” he began, hoping his soft, dulcet tones didn’t scare the young woman out of her wits.

[attr="class","venusscroll"]Venus didn't mind waiting. Sometimes it was hard spending all of her time in the flower shop or at home. She had a few performances here and there, but otherwise she gravitated between only a few places around Shui. Her mothers were always a little wary of letting her go off with only Atlas at her side, especially when Kaze wasn't around, but she had taken to carrying a fuller team now that she had obtained more Pokemon. She was sure that if she had to, she could protect herself. It's not that she hated battling, it just didn't suit her style. She liked her Pokemon to remain primarily unharmed if she could help it, but if one of her Pokemon was protecting her, she really couldn't tell them not to fight. She still had a survival instinct, after all.
Atlas was floating around Venus, making a few clicks and chirps here and there to tell the blind woman where he was. She carried Roxy on her hip like a toddler, the Munchlax playing with Venus's long locks with a joyful expression on her face. Venus smiled toward the Pokemon, her sightless eyes still holding warmth even without being able to see. She loved all of her Pokemon dearly. The Munchlax had really stolen her heart. Especially the part of her heart that loved to eat.
She hadn't been waiting for long, but she was already getting antsy. She wanted to go to work at some point during the day, but if she didn't get the chance, she wouldn't really mind. Venus didn't know how long this fossil thing would take. She didn't even know where she had gotten the thing. One day she had just asked her mom what the large stone was that she had. The edges felt all jagged and odd. Her mom had mentioned that it might be a fossil and set up a meeting with one of the professors in Shui.
When she heard the unfamiliar voice behind her saying her name, she turned slowly, smiling with sightless eyes toward the professor. She reached one hand out, still holding Roxy in her over arm, gazing past him, "Venus, please. It's nice to meet you, Professor Moreau, right? My mother made the appointment. I don't know what kind of fossil it is, and I was hoping that maybe you did." Atlas floated up next to her, holding onto the sleeve of her jacket, watching the Professor with a protective expression and holding out the fossil to the man in front of them. Roxy was now nomming on Venus's hair, but the teenager didn't seem to mind much.

Little was Damian expecting that his companion to the laboratory for this fine day was going to be very unique in more ways than one. For starters, he caught sight of a little fat teddy bear that was apparently having a good time chowing down on the female’s long hair, and he then chuckled softly. “My apologies, Venus,” he began in his charming voice, taking the hand that had been extended in his direction and then momentarily debating if he should take it and kiss the hand, or just give it a proper shake. Once he’d caught sight of how she was looking past him, the realization then dawned on him and he then quickly recovered his composure.
At the same moment, he then saw something moving forward, seemingly hovering in mid-air; like a guardian willing to protect his owner. “Oh, hello,” he said in the Abra’s direction, before noticing that there was something hovering in mid-air. Once he’d caught sight of it, he then realized what it was—a Fossil! Perfect! I can finally put the revival machine in my labs to good use! He thought to himself, letting a triumphant grin flit across his features for several moments. “Why, yes, I do recognize this fossil,” he remarked with a knowing tone. “I’ve seen my peers revive this particular one several times a few years ago,” he added; before realizing that there was going to be a bit of a problem with getting back with Venus in tow.
“In order for us to be able to get back to the lab much quicker, would you mind if we Teleport back there?” he asked, quickly fishing around in his pocket and finding just the containment unit he needed. Once he’d tossed the container up high—and the flash of red light emerged—it then formed into a Claydol, who began to hover silently beside him. “My Nazca can get us to my laboratory in a flash. I hope it’s okay with you,” he remarked, waiting for his companion to give her consent to the plan.

[attr="class","venusscroll"]Atlas almost seemed a little nervous at the sight of the Claydol and he floated a little closer to Venus, putting one of his small paws on her shoulder. Venus, with a fleeting sense of clairvoyance, was able to latch on to how the Abra was feeling at that moment. She gave a small, blind smile toward the Abra, humming gently, “Don’t worry, sweetie. We’ll be okay. Once we leave here, we’ll have a new friend to take with us. Won’t that be nice?” she cooed at Atlas, earning a soft chirp that most likely meant yes. Sometimes Venus couldn’t tell. Before she had lost her sight, it had been easy to tell what the Abra was thinking just by his body language. Now, though, it was harder. Her ability to suddenly feel his emotions still stunned her. She didn’t give any hint to the ability and simply smiled at Damien.
“I’m alright with teleporting,” she said softly, giving a soft smile down at her Munchlax. She reached for Roxy’s Pokeball and returned her to the capsule, reaching out for Atlas as she put the Pokeball back. The Abra floated into her arms, letting her wrap her arms around his torso and carry him. He draped his arms over her, snuggling back against her in a seemingly happy manner. “You can take a nap, Atlas, I’ll be okay if the good professor wants to lead me around,” she said gently, earning a coo of acceptance from the Pokemon.
The smile never left Venus’ features and she gazed blindly toward Damien again, “As long as you don’t run me into any walls, I think that I will be okay. I’m blind, if you didn’t realize. Can you… Describe what the fossil looks like? And then what the Pokemon looks like when it’s revived? I used to read a lot of Pokemon books when I could see and I would like to know what it looks like,” she hummed. She missed being able to see. Venus had so loved to draw and paint, but with the loss of her eyesight, she couldn’t even see Pokemon and that made her just a little sad. However, just the joy of being around Pokemon was enough to push that sadness right away. She loved her Pokemon dearly, and even though she couldn’t see any of them, she knew all of their names, the way they felt underhand, and their own individual voices. Besides, she marked her Pokeballs with different braille stickers so she could tell who was who.
“Alright. I think I’m all ready,” she finally noted after she’d finished her last request. She very slowly reached out her hand, easily balancing Atlas in her other arm, hoping that Damian would take her hand to guide her.

The Claydol continued to hover silently, regarding the Abra that was in the female’s hands with some suspicion, but paid it no heed—as long as his caretaker was there to call the shots then it—well, ‘he’ in this case—was perfectly fine with doing whatever Damian had asked. Over at where the Professor stood, his eyes then widened a bit at the passing mention of her current state, he then cleared his throat before gathering his thoughts and then addressing her concern. “I wouldn’t dream of doing that, not ever. To be honest, whoever would have thoughts of running you into a wall—or whatever obstacle—doesn’t understand the circumstance that you’re currently involved in,” he began with a rather serious tone.
Once he’d given her enough time, he then nodded to her request. “Why of course. I’ll do my best in describing this beauty once he—or she, it would entirely depend on what you prefer to call this little one—when they pop out of the little machine,” he added, taking her hand in his—while tucking the Claw Fossil carefully between his arm, making sure it wouldn’t slip. He then reached out to Nazca, before nodding and then remarking, “Take us to the Labs,” before placing his own hand on the flat surface that constituted his Claydol’s head. The moment his hand had made contact, he then gave a curt nod—and the Claydol’s body began to light up, before a rip0pling wave of energy was emitted from its form, enveloping not just his owner, but their guest—and they all vanished from where they stood with a popping noise.
Several moments later, another popping noise announced the arrival of the unusual crew—the Claydol had materialized first; before Damian had eventually appeared and landed rather gracefully. Looking around, just to make sure he was back in the lab, he then chuckled before giving the Claydol a friendly pat. “Nicely done, Nazca… you can go wander around now,” he began, before quickly looking around and grabbing the nearest chair he could find with his free hand and then slowly, carefully gliding his guest to the aforementioned chair.
“We’re here,” he began, before the melody of birdsong wafted through the place. He then looked up in time and saw that the two Pidoves had come flitting over, circling him for a bit before going over to where Venus stood and chirping in greeting. “Yin, Yang, don’t do anything too crazy now, okay?” he addressed the two avians, before checking his other arm and making sure that the fossil was still with him.
“We’re here, Venus,” he began, and he was just about to make a gesture when he remembered that she couldn’t exactly see him. “This is my laboratory and research facility. It’s situated in the mountains near where the Dragon-type gym is; so that my place doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb against the cityscape of Shui,” he continued, offering a brief explanation. “In here, all sorts of Flying-related magic happens,” he remarked, before seeing another blur of feathers whiz past him; and then the blur of feathers let out a caw.
“That’s Edea, my Murkrow… and she says hello, too,” he continued as the Murkrow then flapped his wings about her, joining the two Pidoves that were flying around her like moons whizzing around a heavenly body. “Entertain her for me, will you? I have to get the machine started,” he said towards his avian companions, before quickly shooting off and checking for where the fossil-revival machine had been placed.
