Two weeks. Two weeks was how long it took for the brunette mistress of Aqua to get the events of Polar Point prepared. Gathering the people of Polar Point together was quite possibly the easier of task, seeing as they respected Olivia and thought of her as their leader. When she explained the idea of holding a festival of sorts to the peasants people of Polar Point, they were practically jumping with joy. While the town was nice and there were plenty of people to mingle with, it was no secret that some kind of fun was needed; snowballs can only do so much. Leaving the residents to get the various tents, structures, and areas ready Olivia went to get her team together, which was easier said than done. Most of the grunts were working on projects they had been assigned were easy to find, but the more notable members required some tracking down and a few phone calls. Letters, emails, and angry voice mails were all it took to get the entirety of Team Aqua in Polar Point to be ready for the festival.
The doors of the town hall swung open, held that way by two Aqua grunts as their graceful leader strode by them. Donning a simple steel blue gown made of Walrein Wool, a silky soft material that possesses insulating and fire proof properties sheared from the herds of Walrein and Spheal that the people of Polar Point watch over, and with a second layer made of the same material but now a navy blue color. Her feet were kept safe from the snow and ice cold floor by crystal heels, mined from the cavern beneath their feet and created by a jeweler in town, they added a good five inches to her height. The dress and heels kept Olivia warm and gave her the appearance of the regal leader she was. The front yard of the Town Hall had been transformed into a stage for Olivia and the rest of Team Aqua to stand on, residing over the people arriving to the island in order to begin the welcoming ceremony.
Olivia tapped the microphone waiting before her on the stage, the loud tap-tap noise echoing throughout the crowd, causing them to give her all of their attention. Smiling at the people before her, Olivia opened her arms wide, and a timely stomp of her foot on the stage caused a flock of Wingull to burst forth and fly away, giving a nice visual. "Welcome to the first annual Winter Festival of Polar Point! I am delighted to offer our humble home as a place for people from all around the Nue region to come and partake in these festivities. My team and I have gone through much trouble to get activities planned and prepped for the contest, ranging from creating ice sculptures alongside your pokemon to fishing in the icy waters that surround us." Olivia said, her breath condensing in small puffs of mist each time she opened her mouth.
As the people cheered and applauded, Olivia held up a gloved had to ask for a brief pause so she could speak, and continued, "However, I would like to introduce the lovely team who made all of this possible; Team Aqua!" A cheer roared through the crowd of Polar Point citizens at the mention of Aqua and Olivia allowed them to do so before asking for a moment for herself to speak once more. "Of course, you all know me, so I find no need to introduce myself. The true introductions must be made for our royal member and her entourage. Please welcome the Princess of Polar Point, Valentine Carvel, accompanied by her loyal knights, Tommy Oliver and Aidan Rhodes!" Olivia said, side stepping to the left to allow the people she just introduced to step towards the microphone.

The ferry ride was a long and uneventful one. Booked in the morning, set sail as soon as it hit full capacity and set off for this island in the northern sector. Klára remembered everything about it. The memories that never quite left they way they should. No smash and grabs with impact on the glass; it was tar and black and permanent. The scratching of paper against the desk, the three-fourths beat in which the receptionist tapped her fingers, and the scent of lilac that seemed to stain the air from overuse of air fresheners. It irritated her in an unimportant way, much like waiting for the last drizzle of coffee to drain into the pot was irritating, much like waiting for the whirring of a heater to become a familiar noise in the night so that one might sleep. It was after that that Klára assumed her seat on the ferry and waited.
Movement. So much movement from those around her. Her eyes never stopped moving to take it all in and remember it - remember that the blonde across from her had a nasty habit of pulling at the stray hairs in her bangs when she complimented her seat partner, a small leg tapping from the teenager in the beanie, the way that the older man's fingers pushed themselves together like someone craving a smoke. It passed the time in a peaceful way while an older song seemed to stream out of the ferry's subpar speakers. It worked, so it didn't need fixing, but it certainly left some odd airs of nostalgia.
Stretched legs. Movement. Shuffling off the ferry. Klára adjusted the furs of her coat to cover the bare spots of her neck, to bite off the wind chill. They were up far enough north to warrant her usual outfit of furs and leathers, enough to make her feel comfortable and safe. She was completely unknown her, and she enjoyed the idea of losing herself in a couple of strangers at a very strange event.
Seemed harmless enough. No reason to suspect anyone around here other than old prejudices, and she had dropped those long ago. She had no affiliations with anyone that would keep her to them anyways. It was her judgement call now, and she'd have that made by the time she was on the boat ride back. No, she was here to observe.
It didn't take long for the crowd around her to come to a slow halt for a speech. A stage. A woman - important? She carried herself with charisma. Her stance. The outfit, the hair - appearances were important today. Perhaps always important. She noted it, almost missing parts of the speech but never having that luxury, never being allowed to forget.
Speaker went on, called out some names, important guests did their thing. Nothing interesting to see yet. That would come later. All good things did. You waited out the storm to see the sun. Klára let out a low sigh and moved to put herself into a corner, into a crevice, near the wooden structures to her left. Just a place to watch for a bit while everyone settled into the festivities before going to find something to do again.
As light fragments of snow began to descend upon the ferry, Jasper tightened his winter jacket and wondered if he’d ever acclimatise to such an environment. Ahead of him he could see the island of destination, a place of frozen tranquillity seemingly hidden from the grasp of the real world. It became intriguing to him as to why people would actually choose to live out here away from the life of the cities. Of course it was a beautiful land and the perfect place for a hidden base of operations, but such beauty was masked by the fact that it remained out here alone as a frozen graveyard. Nevertheless, Jasper was interested in what the leader of Team Aqua had planned for such a place.
The gears of the ferry began to grind as the boat sailed into the shore. Jasper's ears rang when the metal clang of the ferry's bridge slammed onto the docks that awaited their arrival. The people on board were greeted by low-level Aqua grunts who attempted to usher them toward the town hall that stood ahead of them. Jasper kept his head low as he walked past the grunts, having missed the earlier ferry with the rest of his comrades and thus was late to his organisation's very first big day. He could not help but look around at the other people who were headed toward the town hall. Jasper originally expected the area to be plagued with other members of Team Aqua, but it seemed a variety of civilians were interested in what his leader had in store for them. It could not help but bring a smile to Jasper's face. Perhaps Aqua was actually starting to make some influence on the world.
He kept his grey winter jacket tight around him, concealing the fact that he was an agent of Team Aqua. Standing within the crowd of civilians, Jasper looked up at the podium once Olivia had taken the stage. He studied the faces of those who stood by her side, other members of Team Aqua that he was yet to meet although he was already acquainted with some of their faces.
Jasper listened intently to his leader preach to the crowd. He could not help but feel a little buzz of inspiration flow through him as he saw the faces of the civilians and how they looked up to Olivia. His face remained on the stage as the other members became introduced to the crowd, clapping his hands accordingly to each of the names mentioned by their leader. He would continue to stand within the crowd, waiting for more to come from the stage at their front. It was a big day for Team Aqua.
Fucking crowds! Aidan's one weakness! As he stood near the edge, as close to opening in which his leader would soon find herself, it was difficult enough just knowing that soon, he'd see something familiar of a strong acid trip. On the other side of the spectrum, it was nice to see the town so gathered for such an event. Team Aqua's success was mirrored through the small talks and greetings of every citizen. For a place so cold, the welcomings were warm. Eyes closed, the monk was tense, and it showed in the grip of his staff. His breaths were irregular, though anyone could mistake that for a lack of adjustment toward the chilled weather of Polar Point. The flutters in his stomach confirmed that it was all out of nerves. He'd be in front of that microphone soon, as was briefed to him, and he'd be expected to make something of an introduction in the name of Aqua. He'd never spoken to a crowd before. He never saw himself getting to that point in his life, either. All of his efforts had been for him and him alone. Perhaps it was selfish, but it was pure, like when one celebrates their birthday or sells organic produce cheaply for the working class family.
He could hear the opening of the doors behind him, but he dare not even glance at who was arriving. Besides, he knew exactly who ot was- Olivia. The people shuffled, but Aidan was rooted. He realized by now that he'd look rather awkward had he not been wearing his dark blue jumpsuit under his tattered poncho- the only thing really keeping him warm. He hadn't seen how the leader of Aqua made her way to the stage, but there she was, finally. The crowd settled at the sound of her finger against the microphone. Aidan's nerves rose from his stomach and into his chest, almost reaching his throat. He drew in the frozen air to silence his fear and focus his attention.
As Olivia greeted everyone, the thoughts of the coming festivities had Aidan itching for the formalities to be over. He wanted to get started on an ice sculpture! The idea of it reminded him of a time long ago when he carved three Pancham out of a block of wood for a competition back in Fortree City. Of course, this was when he was too young to understand concepts such as symm- the crowd roared. Polar Point sure was loyal to their government. Fortunately, they were governed justly, from what Aidan could possibly know. The cheers died down and she spoke again. The entourage member listened as it came time for him to walk toward that stage. Whether it was nerves or the fact that he was called last, he decided he'd wait just a while for the others to make their appearance.Hey, maybe it won't even melt in this weather.

Curiosity had driven Josh to head to the site where the boat would be taking them. Curiosity had brought the blonde haired Trainer onto the ferry itself, and curiosity had kept him from getting bored the entire ferry ride and using a Flying Type to just fly home and torment Izumi or something. Team Aqua being back was... Of interest, to Josh. Why someone would bring back a group by the name of Team Aqua, after all it had done, in the name of the environment, instead of using a new name and not carrying over the horrific history of Aqua, was beyond him, other then the obvious likelihood of another in-disguise takeover plan. Aqua couldn't think the world that stupid, could they?
Maybe they did. And maybe... Just maybe, the civilians were. The word of this... Festival, being hosted by Team Aqua stunk. It stunk worse then Skutank after chili dogs. But he had stayed, he was curious... If they pulled anything funny, he would be there. And if they were sincere... Well, he would be there. Nothing wrong with having a good time, right?
The blonde wore a cloak this time around, both for warmth and so nobody could see his expression with the hood over his head. His identity would be obvious to anyone who knew him due to the Pikachu on his shoulder with the bandana on it's neck, but strangers... Well, they wouldn't, obviously. The opening ceremony had begun, and Josh would watch and listen as Olivia gave the introductions.
»Valentine look at herself one last time, twirling playfully before the mirror that could hardly reflect the exquisite beauty that was she. She was about to give one of many speeches to the citizens and visitors of Polar Point, to announce the pride she felt for her team and their new community. This was, however, nerve wracking for her in a sense. Every word she said here would be remembered, quoted and repeated for the rest of time, recorded into history and recited as inspiration. Most would feel anxious hours before until hours after their speech, but Valentine was different. She was excited. Once the irritated nerves and pulsing anxiety left her body, she knew that whatever it was she was going to say, would be fine as it is. There was no need to stress over a pre-written speech, or even worry about the things she would say or do. Why? She looked damn fine, that’s why. Her ball gown is adorned with a laced white corset, a dress as blue as sky flowing to the backs of her heels. Her hair is kept in it’s perfect state, her signature black ribbon securing her hair in place. She made her way to where her beloved friend, Olivia, was making her speech.
She stood patiently behind Olivia as she offered her encouragement to the crowd. Valentine was accompanied by her royal knights, of whom she was rarely seen walking around Polar Point without. Something about having a sense of chivalry and royalty made Polar Point itself incredibly unique compared to the way most of Nue’s other civilisations worked. She took in each of her words, knowing that Olivia gave all her heart with every one that left her mouth. Sometimes valentine wished she had the ability to give speeches such as Olivia, but she simply wasn’t that type of person. She was practically still a child and she had a long way to go and a lot of time to learn as well as grow. It finally came time for Olivia’s words to come to an end, as she ended her speech by introducing Valentine and the two knights that stood by her side. She walked up to the podium, taking the spot Olivia had occupied only moments before. Suddenly, she was in her shoes.
She knew she wouldn’t be able to muster up anything wise or anything inspirational, so she went with her gut. “Let’s make the first Winter Festival of Polar Point one to remember!” She jumped up and shouted this with an enormous amount of happiness, giving an add amount of optimism to what seemed like should have been a serious event. “I look forward to looking at everything you guys make during the ice sculpting, and meeting you all is going to be….” She tried to find a word to describe her ecstatic buzz. “Sublime! No… Spectacular! Hmm… phenomenal!” She let loose a gigantic smile, tucking some loose strands of hair behind her ear, turning to Olivia, mouthing the words: “So, what’s next?” It was quite possible she was the most excited person here.
Somewhere just at the edge of the crowd, standing on a sturdy wooden bench, was Lucan Knox, who was treating himself to a candy bar he liberated from some unsuspecting chap. Or at least he was pretending to be, as he stood by watching out for any unexpected situations that may arise. Not exactly his field of expertise - actually scratch that - absolutely not his field of expertise; he was a scientist, not a scout, and definitely not crowd control. Still, it was either this or working on the sound system, and none of the grunts would let him near it. It was unfair for them to assume, he thought with a small scowl on his face. After all, not everything he touches is an explosion waiting to happen.
The scientist finished his candy bar and tossed the wrapper down a trash bin, then tugged his gray-blue coat closer to his body, in an attempt to conserve some body heat. He peered over the crowd (locals and tourists and sight-seers, oh my) as Olivia Mahgaden made her entrance and introductions. While Knox was admittedly disinterested in the fairer sex (or any sex for that matter), he found her very striking.
Eventually, he looked away from the stage and paid attention to his surroundings instead. He really did not care much about speeches.
