Be Prepared! III [Badlands Treasure Roll - Complete]

After that crazy dual digging attempt with Josh (which had netted her something that he apparently had as well), she then decided to head back to the Badlands for the final attempt of the month—at least until November rolled around. Now that she was back on her lonesome, she had on her person just a light backpack containing nothing but water; along with the collapsible shovel tied to one of the free-hanging straps of her backpack. She had on a light, airy ensemble—it was mostly her digging outfit anyway—and once she’d fallen in line, she then realized that she’d completely and totally forgotten to grab a quick bite to eat! I know I’m cutting it extremely close at this point, but I have to hurry and get to my last attempt for the month before going into the Halloween celebrations… she thought to herself as she then saw one of the wandering peddlers selling some sandwiches. After buying out half of the sandwiches he was selling (and consequently eating them while in line), she then found the line moving and then was at the entrance point. Once she had turned her backpack over for inspection (and cramming in the remaining sandwiches inside it) she then got the green light to go explore the Badlands on her own—and knew that she had to make the most of it. She was quite surprised to find out that her sponsored Breeder wasn’t having too much luck while searching; and she knew that she had to turn the ugly tides towards something a bit more… audacious at that point! She then proceeded to hike through the area, passing by other spots that had already been ransacked and stripped of anything and everything valuable. Once she’d found a nice, isolated, deserted spot, she then unraveled the strap that held the collapsible shovel, unfolded said shovel to full height; and then stuck it into the ground. Before she could proceed to digging, she then plucked out a particular Moon Ball and then sent out its occupant; watching as her Lucario then emerged from it; flexing his paws and tapping his feet on the ground upon entry. “Okay, Vince. It’s our last shot at the Badlands for this month. Go out there and practice, okay? If you find something, bring it over,” she said, watching as the jackal-faced ‘mon nodded, before heading out to its own deserted spot and then began its attempts at digging through the area. It was like there was a heavy sense of “déjà vu” hanging in the air for Izumi—at least that’s what she noticed. As of the moment, she hadn’t found anything yet; but all this was about to change… over at where the Lucario was currently practicing its “digging” motions. Even if Vincent didn’t know Dig per se, he could see the sense as to what his mistress was asking him to do; because to helped exercise his upper body strength in order for him to be able to handle more attacks should the need arise. After sifting through the grit that he was currently trying to contemplate—he caught sight of something sparkling, almost winking, up at him. Wondering if this was the thing that she was looking for, he then carefully scooped it up in his paws, before hoisting himself out of the shallow trench and walking over to where she was apparently trying to excavate something the size of a hut (judging by the size of the pile of dirt that he could see forming some ways behind her). As she continued to dig through the bedrock, caring little if she’d already dug up a hole the size of an indoor swimming pool—or roughly around that width, she then saw that Vincent was back; and had this strange look in his eyes. “Hm? Vince?” she asked, looking up and watching as the Lucario then skidded his way down one of the shallower slopes before coming to a stop in front of her—and then presenting the thing he was clutching in his paws. “Yes…?” she began, before seeing that the Lucario was holding… a marble. A very interesting-looking marble, indeed! “Hey, wait a second—“ she trailed off, before realizing that the rock that Vincent was presenting to her was the same as one of her very first finds in the Badlands! “So it does come full circle, indeed,” she continued with a grin, bowing in front of the Lucario and taking the black-and-white marble from him after straightening up. “Well, looks like we can get back to Lumiose and relax early…” she ended, quickly taking out her “carrying case” and then looking for an unoccupied compartment; before dropping in the marble and then sealing it shut—and placing it back in her pocket. “Let’s get going, Vince,” she said with a nod after making sure that everything else was in order. She then helped the Lucario get out of the trench first, before pulling herself up and out of the hole—and then heading for the exit of the Badlands, whistling something as she went. | | | | | WORDS 440 TAGS not really NOTES Full circle, this Absolite is mine
