After taking quite a good rest over the weekend, Izumi was now ready to commence with the next opportunity to hunt through the Badlands for more of the shining marbles. Hoping that her streak of good luck was still hot, she then decided to pack light; and had a small backpack containing just enough sandwiches, two canteens of water, along with a bottle of sun block for the trip—because getting sunburned was a very painful experience and she wished for it to never happen to her, ever again. Now that her “supplies” were ready, she then wiggled herself into her Badlands-appropriate attire, before grabbing the backpack and her shovel, and setting out into the early-morning Kalosian day.
She had enough time to stop over for another cup of hot chocolate and this time, decided to buy the weird, moon-shaped bread that was extremely flaky… and absolutely tasty. Now that she had her breakfast in hand, she then proceeded to the exit that was closest to the Badlands, and then saw that there was a line forming, even if it was this early in the day.
“Heh… looks like people are getting wiser to dig really early in the morning or late in the afternoon so that they don’t shrivel up and burn themselves…” she said with a chuckle as she then fell in line, finishing off the flaky bread and draining the hot chocolate in the process. Once both items were gone, she hadn’t realized that she was already at the forefront, and quickly turned over her possessions for the guards to paw through while she looked for a trash can in order to be able to throw her trash away. Once she’d gotten back and received the go signal, she then hefted her backpack across her right shoulder and picked up the shovel—before staring out at the Badlands; where everything still really looked the same no matter where she looked. “Maybe they’re doing it on purpose… huh?” she muttered, noticing that there were a few dunes that were definitely not present the last time she was at the location.
That definitely looks suspicious… alright, time to check it out! She thought with a smirk on her face as she then marched forward, shovel at the ready. once she’d arrived at the dune (after around fifteen minutes of walking) she then proceeded to dig right away—no more setting down the backpack or anything, she just wanted to get searching at the spot she was looking through!

Izumi knew that she was digging solo, so she couldn’t rely on her “dynamic duo” digging team at the moment; and was stuck with the manual work all by herself. It didn’t take too long before the silence she’d dug herself into was shattered by the sound of something… breaking. “Oh crap, I did it again…?” she groaned to herself as she gingerly lifted up the shovel and saw that right underneath it, there was a shattered, almost deteriorated top of something she wasn’t entirely too sure she’d hit—for one thing she was absolutely certain it wasn’t a crown, because the crown was all pointy and stuff.
This thing she’d found had to be either a statue or a vase, but from the state of the broken piece she’d just unearthed, there was no other way to tell what it was now.
“Oops…” was all she had time for as she then escaped the area, looking for another dirt dune to desecrate for herself! After running away from the “scene of the crime”, she then found herself at another dune that she was very much certain was not around the last time she was present at the Badlands, and then proceeded to dig through this pile now; fingers crossed—both physically as well as in the back of her mind; because she’d already broken so many vases, who knew if she was going to shatter another one—or come across something a lot more interesting than that…?

After digging herself into silence once again, she didn't look up until she had realized that she'd hit something... and that something cracked with a familiar sound like a gunshot. "Oh... well, looks like I'm getting a bad draw again..." she groaned, looking down at the rubble and seeing that she'd hit yet another crown. Just how many of the things were there anyway? She then groaned, before quickly retrieving the shovel and then scampering away from the scene of the crime once again, as fast as her legs could carry her. After evacuating the scene, she then decided to just... run through the area, fingers crossed and hoping that she would be able to find a spot that stuck out to her gut instincts.
Sometime later...
Izumi had arrived at another deserted area, and then sighed; would this place bring her great fortune... or utter despair? She then shelved the thoughts, before quickly poking the top of the surface with the shovel, and resuming digging into silence. Who knew what she was going to find this time around? Would she strike it rich, or end up shattering another crown simply because she was starting to become a magnet for the ugly things? She then continued to flail with the piles of dirt, tossing them over and over her shoulder in complete and total silence.

After digging through the current location where she was at, Izumi kept on tossing aside mounds of dirt… not realizing that on the next poke her shovel would make, she would hear something familiar like another gunshot going off as her shovel hit something… again.“Oh, really…” was all she had time to mutter as she then groaned again and then checked just what she’d broken this time. It was another of the “Relic” series, and she knew that with the last shot she had, it was either all or nothing. She then shook her head as she then abandoned the place where she was digging, and then decided to venture out into another region of the Badlands; because at this point it was everything or nothing at all. After venturing through several dunes that had already been desecrated by fellow diggers, she then found a spot that looked deserted enough in order to be able to dig.
“Well, at this point this is all or nothing…” she muttered to herself, smacking a palm to her forehead as she then braced herself, and then poked the ground with the shovel. After poking it enough times, she then began muttering a silent prayer, and then began to dig through the current location where she was at. Would she be able to luck out, or had her lucky streak gone with the last shining marble she’d found a few days ago…? She then began whistling to herself, listening to the scraping noise as she did so and continued to fling shovel after shovel full of dirt over her shoulder.

Izumi had gotten so absorbed in digging, she didn’t notice that she’d already unearthed the thing she was supposed to have found—and sadly, it wasn’t a marble. She thought she could hear other exclamations of shock and dismay rising from the area near where she was; and she could already guess that their expeditions had ended quite abruptly or they were just drawing the short end of the straw this time around. She then chanced to look down… and had to resist the urge to smash the thing she’d found; because even she’d suffered the same fate as everyone else! “WHAT THE HELL!” was all she had time to screech out, joining the chorus of annoyance, dismay and rage that was now erupting in a steady stream across the Badlands at this point. Was it because of some weird freak sandstorm that had supposedly happened sometime ago that was causing the dreaded “Relic” series to come up way more often than usual?
But wait… that cannot be… possible. I found one of the rarest marbles just a few days before this started… so how do you explain that… she thought to herself, resisting the urge to just smash the darned thing and leave it alone, shattered and broken in the Badlands—as some of her other fellow diggers have done by this point in time. She knew that they could be traded in for some money though… “Heh. Fine. Looks like it’s time to draw the magical ‘trump card’ in this case…” she said with a noticeable scowl on her face, quickly scooping up the unearthed “Relic” item and then heading back towards the “entrance way” in a huff, stabbing her shovel at each and every single hole she could see in the path she was now taking. I swear. It is time to call in the freakin’ heavy artillery… she thought to herself, reaching for her mobile phone and then dialing a certain number…
