{Mission}Title: First Some Wind, then Some Rain! Claimed By: Open Catching: Yes (Hoenn Ocean) Members: 1-3 Rewards: •25 Description: Calamity! A sea storm of incredible force has been predicted to hit the Dewford and Slateport area, but the people living in the Abandoned Ship need supplies to weather out the storm! While the storm has yet to hit, the seas are already dangerous for ships to sail, so Trainers with Water-Types who can carry them to the Abandoned Ship are needed to deliver supplies. Hurry through the seas, braving the tell-tale sings of the coming storm, and deliver the supplies before you get caught in the waves and wind. Be warned, Water-Types inhabit the area between the cities and the ship, and will defend their home.
Notes: As the Mission-Takers post, the storm's presence increases. There is no post limit, but they realistically have to increase the storm's intensity and difficulty of travel as they move, as well as deal with Water-Types in the way. Obviously, a Pokemon that can ferry the mission-takers through worsening waters is necessary.
The winds whipped around Olivia, blowing her brown hair everywhere, making it a mess. She pulled a few stray hairs out of her face and looked up to find Josh making his way towards her. The wind wasn't that much of an issue besides for her hair, surprising her because Olivia had though she may need to back out due to the cane. He was an odd fellow, she had to admit, but she was thankful for their fateful encounter. Wiping another strand of hair out of her eyes, she waved for him to come over towards her. The docks of Dewford were empty, the incoming storm sending most ships to other sea side cities. Instead of where one would find a ship, there was a large Gyarados that belonged to no other than Olivia. Strapped onto the large sea pokemon's back were large waterproof sacks, filled with essential supplies that the people that inhabit the Abandoned Ship would need to survive the storm. Why did those people insist on living on a ship that was partially underwater? Olivia would never understand, but they needed supplies, and as a member of a team that had to do with water, she would do her best to help. Plus, this would be great positive publicity for Aqua... Once they actually went public, that is. They were still living in the shadows and were only known to a select few.
She wondered, though, as the blond man approached, how she could make use of him. He wasn't bad looking, there was that, but what spiked her interest in him was his heroism. His need to help. This little expedition of theirs would give Olivia an insight on what kind of man this Josh character is.

Above Olivia's head, like promised, would fly a Charizard high in the sky. The Charizard though, admittedly looked a bit strange. Not in the funny looking sense, but who saw 8 foot tall Charizards in Hoenn? Charizards were rare enough in Hoenn, but ones that were remarkably huge? No way man. Regardless, on the titan's back was the blonde man that Olivia was just thinking about, with blonde hair flowing in the wind as if it were some kind of lo'real commercial. Josh Dragomir took a breath and closed his eyes, letting the wind hit his face as his Charizard, Fawkes, flew through the air just overhead Dewford. This was good practice for Fawkes, they had been training for flight for so long now. This gave Josh a good excuse to get in some more training with Fawkes.
Through his head ran thoughts of the encounter before with Olivia. What had she been doing there in the lake, what was with the machine being there? And was she being as truthful as she said? The phone call between them that set this up only made him even more suspicious. But that didn't matter right now. Whatever Olivia's reasons for wanting to help the denizens of the abandoned ship, Josh didn't care. They were helping people who needed help. If Olivia turned out to be something other then what she seemed... Well, we'd get to that bridge once we get to it.
He opened his eyes and looked down to see the brunette waving up to him. "Fawkes, the waving brunette. Land 8 feet away, feet down, slow-medium speed. Upright" he commanded calmly. The Charizard would nod with a growl and slowly descend, landing exactly where Josh had told him to. The blonde smirked over at Olivia and dismounted his Charizard mount, before nodding over at him.
"Fawkes, you did good. Your landing was almost spot on. Couple more practice sessions and you'll be a pro flyer in no time" he promised with a small smile as he pulled out a Pokeball. "You deserve the rest, Fawkes. Thank you" he said kindly as he returned Fawkes to his Pokeball.
Still wondering about her agenda, Josh would turn back to Olivia and give a calm yet friendly smile. He looked over at the Gyarados that he recognized was hers and nodded, smirking. "Seems you're all set up" he said, looking down at the cane. "You all set to go, Old Lady Jenkins?" he joked with a small, cheeky smile. Even without full trust, nothing stopped Josh from cracking a joke or two, to lighten spirits.
Olivia offered Jason a smile as he approached her, silently thinking about the large pokemon he had flown in on. And by large, she meant large. It was bigger than the average Charizard, which in and of itself is rather big. That meant he either had some connections with an odd breeder who had the pokemon specifically bred for him, or he was an excellent trainer.
Josh noted the supplies she had and just as Olivia was about to explain to him what it was all for, he made a very... Rude comment. The smile disappeared from her face as she turned on her good heel, facing her Gyarados and began checking all of the bags, making sure they were secure. "Have your pokeballs ready in case of any wild pokemon, and I'd put this on." Olivia said, a new found coldness in her voice as she tossed a poncho to the blond while she donned her own. While Olivia would refuse to admit it to anyone, the cane made her feel even older than she was. Every morning she went through her daily ritual, moisturizing, exfoliating, cleansing, repairing, and trying all the new medicine she could. Olivia desperately wanted to hang on to her fleeting youth, and having to walk around with a cane didn't help.
Her poncho on and the items secured, Olivia made her way onto her Gyarados, the saddle she had outfitted for her fitting snugly and leaving enough room for Josh. Looking down on the man, she said, "Get on." Out to the east, the brunette could see the storm brewing.

It didn't take Josh very much to figure out that Olivia was sensitive about the cane, the frown alone spoke it for him, the suddenly cold tone just beat the dead horse. He sighed and frowned, giving her an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry, Olivia. I didn't realize it wasn't a sore spot" he promised comfortably. Josh's intentions had been good, of course. There weren't many times that they weren't. Josh never tried to victimize or hurt anybody if he could. Offending Olivia had entirely been accidental, and he really was sorry for it.
He nodded and took the poncho as he caught it, putting it on as he did. He acknowledged her advice, looking down at the Pokeballs on his belt before nodding. When she got onto her Gyarados and told him to follow, he did so. "If an issue presents itself, I have a water type that can brave the storm as well" he said. "I was going to offer to take part of the load myself, but you'd already loaded up when I got here"
The brown haired woman sighed when Josh tried to apologize. It's not like he had known that the subject of her decaying youth was one she detested, or that the cane added insult to injury, he was just trying to be funny. Shaking her head, she said, "It's fine, Josh. You didn't know any better."
With Josh having put his poncho on, Olivia listed to his comment about wanting to share the load but he already saw she had it done. "Indeed I do. My Gyarados is strong enough, and big enough, to carry these things and us with ease. Unless you have a Wailord, I doubt any other pokemon could do it as efficiently or as easily." Olivia said in reply, before leaning forward a bit to look at the storm. As she did so, she continued talking, saying, "And I'd get on if I were you. The storm looks like it's heading our way and I'd like to get out there before it gets too bad. The people at the Abandoned Ship need these supplies as soon as possible."

Despite that, Josh still felt bad. How could he not? He'd accidentally insulted her, in her eyes at least, and probably made her feel worse about her injury. He made a note to be more careful in future.
Josh would nod to her response. "It'd... Be about equal" he said, shrugging. Simple enough, if her Gyarados could handle the load alone, so be it. "At the least, we have a backup if your Gyarados for some reason goes down" he added.
To her next statement, Josh didn't know whether to snark, joke or politely correct her, as he'd gotten on during the previous post. Instead, he would just poke her on the shoulder, indicating he'd been on board since she had told him to the first time. "Hi" he stated flatly, with lowered eyes, a bit humored at the situation. "Seriously though, I'm set to go when the pretty lady's ready to go" he added with a small smile. It seemed his sense of humor had returned after a momentary lapse due to the first incident. For some reason he doubted she was sensitive enough to get pissy over anything he'd cracked this time.
He looked up at the storm brewing and his expression formed a more serious one. This wasn't going to be easy...
With the confirmation that he was ready to go, Olivia let out a loud whistle, signaling for her Gyarados to get moving. She figured that they would get to the ship as the storm did, so hopefully they wouldn't run across any disturbed wild pokemon. That wasn't necessarily going to happen, though, considering that the pokemon along the path they were going to take were well known for attacking swimmers and people who were simply passing by. As they rode on, Olivia called back behind her to Josh, "How are you doing? I know some people get sea sick, and what with the storm rocking everything, I doubt this is the most comfortable ride you've had in your life."
In all honesty, Olivia could care less how he felt, but she didn't want him barfing on her or Deiopea. Plus, she needed him to be ready for anything that popped up. The Gyarados could take care of some of them, but the brunette knew that carrying the supplies and her and Josh was taking a lot out of her already, she didn't need to strain herself.

Josh very much doubted that Olivia gave a damn about how he felt, or even his own safety. But for the sake of politeness, he nodded. With the Gyarados moving like it was, many people would get seasick. Having his own large water surfers though, Josh was used to this sort of thing and would be just fine. He just hoped that nothing attacked them on the way.
"I'm fine" he assured with a small smile, for the sake of politeness. "I'm used to this sort of thing. I have a few Pokemon that can handle this sort of thing. Should I bring them out to serve as escorts?" he asked. His doubts didn't matter right now, right now people needed help and he would do all that he could to help them. "I'm sure we'll run into some wild Pokemon. I've traveled this way before, it's not pretty. Got attacked by a swarm of Gyarados last I was out here, almost became lunch before my Pichu saved my life" he said, sighing. "Technically, he saved yours too" he added with a small chuckle. "Pikachu now, same one that zapped the Corphish before" he added.
"And how are you?" he asked. "It would be a shame to see a beautiful woman get seasick" he jipped with an amused smile. There was no use being cold and rough, he had decided. Despite Josh's suspicions about Olivia, they were on a mission, and despite his failure to help the morale for the both of them earlier, this was a safer jab then referring to her cane and her age.
Apparently the blond was used to traveling the seas, which was completely fine by her, meant no vomit on her pokemon or, more importantly, herself. Looking ahead, Olivia realized the storm was indeed getting worse and she really did not want to take the chance of something happening while they were travelling through it. However, at the same, she wasn't completely trusting in her new found friend Josh. What did she knew about him? Absolutely nothing. The man had seemingly appeared out of no where and saved her sorry wet ass from a horde of angry crabs with a Pichu of all pokemon! Although the thing has since evolved into a Pikachu, she still found it odd for a full grown man to be carrying around such a small and weak pokemon. Then there was all the awkward small talk. She detested it.
Some good did come out of his rambling though when he offered to have one his pokemon assist. Calling to the back, where he sat, Olivia said, "Go ahead. I'm sure this storm has some of the usual peaceful pokemon rather upset so it'd be good to have some backup."

Tension, whether it was sexual tension or regular distrust tension aside, was running high, but it didn't matter when the high seas and this storm just got worse and worse. Yarr, ye seas weren't kind to the Aqua gal and the blondie this here fall. Regardless of giddy old pirate talk though, Josh obviously didn't completely trust Olivia either, nor did he think she trusted him. He'd at this point pieced everything together about her, but it wasn't like he hadn't met members of... Criminal teams, and gotten along with them before. If you don't fuck with him, he has no reason to fuck with you if you don't get in his way, right?
Of course, the man was full of surprises. Nodding to her words, he cracked his neck. "I got just the Pokemon" he said, chuckling as he pulled out two Pokeballs. As well, another one opened itself and a Pikachu would appear instantly on the blonde's shoulder, wearing the same blue bandana as the one that had saved Olivia before. "Pika!" Lightning chirped and Josh chuckled a bit, scratching the Pikachu's chin which yielded an affectionate "Chaaa~" from the electric mouse. "Alright, alright. I wanted to keep you in your Pokeball for this trip, but you can stay out as long as you don't get into any trouble. Any trouble, and into the ball you go, alright?" he said to the Pikachu, who would nod in affirmative. "Pika!" he stated obediently. "I suppose an electric type would be a good third escort just in case, I guess" he admitted, scratching his head. "Good thinking, Lightning"
"Now... As I was saying..." he began as he grabbed the two Pokeballs again. "Go, Bastilo! Chuck!" he called as he released two Pokemon from their Pokeballs, both which would appear in the water. One was a Wartortle, who would give a salute. "Wartortle!" Bastilo would greet. The other one? A large red Gyarados, Chuck would let out a roar as it came out of it's ball.
"Olivia, meet Lightning, Bastilo, and Chuck" he said, motioning to the Pikachu, Wartortle and Gyarados one at a time, in naming order. "They'll be our escorts today" he said, chuckling a bit. "And if we need air support, I have another ace up my sleeve" he said, motioning to one of the Pokeballs on his belt.
She was not impressed. Olivia couldn't tell if the boy was trying to show off or simply displaying the pokemon he had at his disposal, but either way the brunette woman didn't find the situation pleasant; yet, Olivia wasn't one to show her emotions. Smiling at the announcement of each of the pokemon, noting he released another Gyarados beside her own, which caused Deiopea to buck up. The boy should have known better, the large serpent pokemon were extremely aggressive and hostile towards others, especially their own kind. If his own red monstrosity came too close Olivia would feel no pity for what Deiopea might do to it. She chuckled at his little comment about possible need for air support. "I'm sure we'll be fine, dear, with all these strong pokemon around to protect us. However, I'd hate for you to have to do all the work, allow me to have my own pokemon assist." Olivia said, pulling two pokeballs out and quickly pressing the button to release them. In a flash of light, two pokemon fell into the sea beside them, catching up to the Gyarados easily, and Olivia smiled at the Dragnair and Chinchou who were on either side of Deiopea. Motioning to the right, where the Dragonair swam, Olivia said, "This is Halie, and this is," she motioned to her left where the Chinchou was, continuing, "Eione."
Pleasantries aside, the storm was brewing and the actual downpour had already begun. Nothing to bad, lots of lightning, but Olivia was safe underneath her poncho. In fact, if the trip continued like how it was, she wouldn't even mind. The rain was what she expected and so far no angry pokemon had attacked. So far.
Suddenly, nine enormous pillars of blue scales emerged from the water, the eyes of the pokemon blazing red. "... Fuck." Olivia muttered as she watched the pokemon come from the water. Nine Gyarados. NINE. One was enough to handle, but a horde of them?! It was a good thing she had the help that she did. Pulling on the neck of Deiopea, she hissed, "Pull back, Deiopea, I know you want to fight but let the others handle this." With her pokemon safely out of harm's way, Olivia watched as her other pokemon began to engage in battle with the circling serpent pokemon. The Gyarados were obviously pissed at the two, Olivia's and Josh's, who were invading their territory and the storm definitely wasn't helping their attitude. One of the pokemon had the nerve to clamp its giant jaws around Eione. "NO!" Olivia screeched, the snap easily able to be heard from where she was, the sound all to similar to her own leg breaking. The mistake, however, was on the Gyarados. Eione's body began to glow yellow as she released a shield of electric energy that extended out from her body and hit all of the pokemon surrounding her. Unfortunately, Halie was one of those pokemon, but thought nothing of it, and returned with a blast of electricity towards the light fish pokemon. Instead of the attack hurting, it healed the Chinchou.
The remaining Gyarados began to retreat, the attack from earlier nearly frying them in their place. Eione, however, wouldn't let that happen. Another large sphere of electricity expanded outward and hit them all again, and one by one they fell back to the sea. Olivia threw an ultraball at one before it fell to the depths of the sea.
[attr="class","pinky"]
Used discharge x 2 which hits all surrounding pokemon. Used 1 one ultraball.

(Hope you don't mind, I'm gonna fill in the cracks and add some attacks of my own since you didn't really give me a chance to at all before wiping out the entire horde)
Oh, Josh knew better. The thing is, Josh had caught Chuck in a horde of Gyarados, along with two others. Since then, he had taught them to work as a unit, and since then they were known to roam the Dragomir Ranch as a group. It was a stunning development that took a lot of work, and the fact that those Gyarados in particular were afraid of Lightning. Yes, Lightning. The Pikachu. Lightning had been the subject of many threats toward the Gyarados trio to get them to behave and work as a team, along with work with the other Pokemon. And if they ever got in line, one look from Lightning, and they would shy away, likely not wanting to be zapped again. Josh knew the dangers of having a Gyarados around another one, but he also knew it could be stopped quick if the Trainers had brains enough. He'd had Chuck around other Gyarados before, and Josh didn't seem scared at all of conflict. He knew he could resolve it quickly if needed.
Of course, if her Gyarados attacked his... Well, Josh wasn't responsible for what the Gyarados, despite being afraid of his Pikachu, would do to it. He knew that Chuck was very tough, after all. And fierce, as well. He hadn't just picked him for his looks out of the group, he picked him most often for his aggression and fierceness. When angered, he wasn't a force you wanted to deal with...
He smiled a bit when she brought out her Dragonair and Chinchou. "Very nice" he said. "I actually have a Dratini back at the ranch" he added, remembering Gawain and the training he had in mind for his Dratini.
As for showing off his Pokemon.. Not at all, as much as she might think. While Josh was very flashy with his Pokemon, he did it more for his own amusement then to show off and impress anyone. He could care less what an Aqua member, or anyone else for that matter, thought of him and his Pokemon. They were great to him, and that was all that mattered.
"Aye, hopefully we won't need air support then" he said, noting that Chinchou was a Water/Electric type, before holding a hand up to let the rain tap tap tap on his palm, seeming to gauge it's strength. It didn't bother him at that much with what he was wearing. He was obviously quite used to these conditions.
Speaking of used to though, nine enormous pillars of blue scales emerged from the water, the eyes of the Pokemon blazing red. The Gyarados had attacked, not happy about their intrusion, obviously. Josh for.... Some odd reason, didn't seem phased. His Pokemon seemed visibly worried for a moment, but their worried glances disappeared upon glancing at their Trainer, who seemed... Oddly confident somehow. Despite Olivia's reaction, Josh actually... Began laughing!
"Ah, this reminds me of old times, how about you, Lightning?" he asked, eyeing the Pikachu who gave a slightly worried nod. Truth be told, this was the same fashion Josh had caught Chuck and his associates. In a group just like this one... As a Pichu back then, Lightning had been a part of defeating them. And here, he was even more powerful.. As were the rest of his Pokemon. Josh felt no fear here, despite the raging monsters in front of him. He stood to his feet, seeming ready for battle. Olivia had decided to begin the battle as well. Chuck would let out a fierce, bloodthirsty roar toward the Gyarados, but Josh would hold up a hand. "CEASE!" Josh would suddenly call toward the Gyarados in a loud, uncharacteristically commanding tone... A leader's tone... One that Josh hadn't shown in their last encounter in favor of a more gentle tone. The Gyarados would look at it's Trainer before backing down instantly... Perhaps Josh had to be a little firmer when his Gyarados was like this? Perhaps questions would have to be asked later, but the absolute confidence in his face spoke volumes. "You'll get your time, my friend... Now is not that time!" he said, seeming gentler now. "Save your strength, more battles await you yet!"
Bastilo would let out an attack to keep some of the Gyarados at bay, but afterword, Josh would raise a hand to tell him to stop as he heard Olivia scream. He looked back to see one of her Pokemon hurt, and another use electrical attacks... A smirk crossed Josh's face..... Before it spread into a wide grin as he realized the drips of water hitting his fingers and the electricity quite literally in the air.
"Lightning..." Josh suggested amusedly, looking at his Pikachu. The Pikachu seemed to instantly know what to do, and climbed on Josh's head. "Lightning.... USE THUNDER"! he suddenly called in that commanding tone once again, holding his arms out side to side like a lightning conducter. Lightning would leap off Josh's head high into the air, and his cheeks would spark... "Pika....." Lightning began, as he charged up his strongest attack.
"CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" he let out in an incredibly fierce tone, one that might sound scary even to some that weren't used to it, before unleashing a large electrical attack that would reach it's way into the clouds. Thunder boomed above them, before bolts of lightning would suddenly come down, and with expert accuracy start hitting the Gyarados, with Josh directing his other Pokemon out of the way of the crossfire. With this attack combined with the Discharge of Olivia's Pokemon, the Gyarados would start dropping like flies. He noticed as Olivia would catch one with an Ultra Ball, and while Josh was tempted, he decided he didn't need anymore Gyarados at present.
Olivia watched with pride as her little Chinchou took out the majority of the Gyarados. This would definitely be a great training experience for the young electric pokemon and, she noted glancing at the elegant dragon type, would build up a feeling of comradeship. Their use of moves and tactics was wonderful and genius, proving to the brunette that there was more to both of them than meets the eye. Josh's pokemon, however, were more than capable of taking care of the already weakened and remaining Gyarados, and so she didn't pay them much attention.
The smell of fried fish surrounding them, Olivia urged Deipea to moved forward and pass the possible snack. Doing as she was told, although regretting it, the Gyarados moved forward and continued their journey to the abandoned ship. The rain continued to pour on them as they swam. Olivia wiped a few droplets from her nose, before calling back to Josh, "Well done, dear. Your pokemon truly have improved." Stroking the boy's ego would do wonders if any of Olivia's past experiences were a gauge.
