It was her last chance to go looking for something shiny; and it wasn’t even the middle of the month yet! All the same, Izumi had decided to pack light—because this was going to be her final trip to the place; at least for the moment. She’d decided to dedicate the rest of the moth to training—apparently Josh also had ideas similar to hers; so she was now part of a four-person “training gauntlet” that they were going to commence in once everyone had gotten assembled and properly introduced. She knew he’d take care of the details and he’d just drop a line once everything was ready; so she decided to spend some of her remaining free time in the Badlands. Her backpack was much smaller than the norm; only housing one Pokeball (Momo’s) and some water rations; along with her gloves, newsboy cap and an extra bottle of sunscreen. She was holding the shovel in her other hand as she then fell in line in order to be able to start on her final trip to the excavation site.
After getting her things checked (and a few free drinks of water from the water dispenser at the guard station) she then proceeded out into the Badlands; looking around and seeing that there were a lot of people trying their luck… or it had already ran out and they were heading home, defeated. She then started circling around the site, looking for a possible spot that wasn’t too violated yet; and once she’d found I some fifteen minutes later, unslung her backpack and let it gently drop to the grit. She then retrieved the work gloves and slipped them on, before putting on the shades and cap as well; and then began to dig through the new spot. Alright, last try of the month… let’s do this! We can find something… anything good! She thought, cheering herself on as she lulled herself into silence, digging, digging, digging…

It didn’t take too long for Izumi to find something underneath all the swirling grit; and the moment she heard the “clink” sound, she knew that the shovel had to be abandoned and she had to scour the dirt by hand. What she was not expecting, however, was the little snafu that the marble that she’d dig up… was something she already had a duplicate of! “Pfffffft, really?” she said, staring at the Garchompite with little bravado. Sure she already had one for Draken (and another extra one just in case) but having three of the same kind of marble looked… a bit ridiculous at least! She then felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, and dug it up—checking the messages as she did so. The contents of the messages made her smirk all the wider, as she then dropped the unearthed marble back into the dirt and retrieved the shovel.
“Well well, looks like I’ll have to keep searching,” she said, but with a huge grin on her face—the texts had come from her sponsor; and he’d found two marbles that would potentially interest her! She then sent off one reply for the two messages she’d received; before retrieving the fallen shovel and then walking towards a new dig site. Deciding that this spot was as good as any, she then stuck the shovel into the dirt, aided by her foot, and soon enough, more sounds of digging were heard coming from her direction. She knew that there were more marbles out there… she just had to play her cards right and hoped that something good would appear on the next attempt at this very spot!

After Izumi had decided to pass on the little sparkling marble and had decided to dig up a new place, only to see something… weird sticking out of the ground when her shovel had run deep enough. Wondering just what it was, she thought that it might have been a shuriken—or any other sharp weapon—and decided to investigate. Further checking and inspection led to the fact that it was a Sun Stone; something that was easily available over in the store where she’d worked part time in Lumiose. “…nope,” was all she had time for as she then buried the sun Stone once more, shoving the disturbed earth atop it; before patting it down with her shovel and the moving to another location where she could try to continue her search. Please bless me with something other than what I already have… she thought as she began digging in the spot where she’d transferred to.
The sun overhead was starting to rear its ugly head; and she knew that she had to get out of the Badlands quickly; otherwise she’d be facing another bad case of sunburn. The few times she’d gone digging without applying sunburn, she’d ended up with tenderized skin that looked like it had been smacked with a meat pounder and left out in the sun to roast to a crisp! “Must… hurry…” she muttered darkly to herself, quickly digging as fast as she could manage and excavating another manhole-sized “grave”. She then stopped for a quick water break and rummaged through her backpack, shifting stuff aside until she got hold of the canteen that had ice-cold water in it. She then unscrewed the top before taking a deep drag from it, draining the entire thing in one go. “Darn, is it this hot that’s casing me to go through water so quickly?” she muttered again, before tossing the canteen back inside the bag and then continuing to dig up the hole she was now about to tunnel into.

The sun was indeed rearing its ugly head while she continued to dig; Izumi could feel her skin starting to throb. If she didn’t hurry, she’d have another bad case of sunburn and wouldn’t risk going out for another few days because of getting overexposed to the sun! The digging noises then became quicker, more harried, more… rushed if you may. Since she didn’t have any single member of her “digging duo” with her right now, she knew that looking for something would take much longer than it normally did. after a few more minutes of hurried scraping, she then tossed the shovel aside and then raced for her bag before quickly extracting the second flask of ice-cold water and popping it open, then taking a long drink from it. Who knew I was already overheating… she thought to herself as she continued to sip at the refreshing, ice-cold water she’d prepared before heading out here. After the second flask was rained, she then chucked it back onto the jumble of things she’d brought out, and resumed digging.
Now that she was cooled down somewhat, she could keep going—but then again, she had to pick up the pace or else she’d become a roasted little young woman out in the desert. After a few more minutes of silent digging… she heard another “clink” noise. She then realized what it was, so she quickly chucked the shovel aside and then began digging away with her hands, and after a few more tense moments of pawing at the dirt… she pulled out another marble; and this resembled one of the ones she’d found recently. Even if it was a double, she knew that eventually she would be able to use it in a trading bargain of some sort… and then quickly reached for her carrying case, which was now seriously overloaded with quite a number of marbles and the rainbow-colored Key Stone. “I seriously need a new case…” she muttered, quickly opening it and dropping in the latest marble she’d acquired; before cramming it shut and then quickly packing up as fast as she could humanly manage, and then hightailing it out of the Badlands before she got too burned up!
