Izumi knew that she was scheduled to return to the Badlands in a few days, but apparently, sitting still and not doing anything was just out to kill her boredom. Knowing that she might be risking running the wrath of the gods of luck, she then quickly shuffled around the rented apartment she was using as her temporary “headquarters” in Lumiose and tossed a hodgepodge of supplies into her backpack; including a few bottles of water, some extra wrapped sandwiches, a few bags of trail mix… and of course, the six Pokeballs she was carrying around with her. She knew that her current team wasn’t suited for digging (and that she had to do the manual labor herself) and she knew that she had to pick up the pace; so before leaving she then decided to slap on some sun block before leaving the apartment; slipping on her shades and her newsboy cap, as well as the backpack as she strode down the stair and out into the hot afternoon sunlight.
After walking through the city and eventually following the trickle of people who were headed to the Badlands, she then fell in line and then followed the individuals, slinging the shovel up across her shoulder as the line moved slowly but surely. After a few minutes of waiting—as well as bag inspection—she then got clearance to go ahead and have at it; although she was wondering—would it be actually possible to come out more than just four times a month now? Or was it just a limit that had been set by the higher authorities? In any case, she then got around to looking and then started circling the perimeter before actually finding a spot that looked like it hadn’t been touched yet. “Alright, let’s do this…” she trailed off, dropping the backpack off to one side as she then began digging, sticking the shovel into the ground assisted by one foot—because for some reason, the ground was heavily packed at the spot she’d chosen.

It didn’t take too long before the blade of her shovel actually smacked against something; and the smacking noise was so hard, she thought she heard something snap… “Oh shit, did I break another vase again…” she trailed off, looking down and seeing that there was half a… bone… sticking out of the grit. Rather, the “half” was already starting to crumble, because of the force of the hovel that had crashed into it shattered its already rather-frail structure. “Great, just great…” she muttered, hissing as she then rolled her eyes to the heavens, before quickly picking up the backpack and then scouting out another location. I hate the fact they look all the same. I just want to get a different marble. Otherwise I’d have a freaking load of doubles… she thought as she started walking around, looking for another spot to desecrate with her shovel, which had already pretty much smashed countless numbers of artifacts that she’d already stumbled across before.
“Where to look next…” she muttered, marching around several piles of dirt that had already been left there; a sign that someone had already dug up the goodies in that area. Where could she continue searching? Izumi then flipped her backpack forward and then unzipped it, searching for a bottle of water—because the heat was starting to get to her again. After another few minutes of listless wandering around, she then saw another spot that didn’t have so many piles of dirt on it, and decided to continue searching over there. “Let’s do this,” she continued, taking a few sips of water from the bottle she’d found, before dropping the backpack to the ground and then cramming the water bottle in between her belt; the better to grab it so that she could continue digging. She then stuck the blade of the shovel into the grit and continued searching…

Was there some higher power at work here, or was her luck really taking a downturn now? Izumi thought she heard another shattering noise, and that shook her from her reverie—only to find out that there was another bone right in the spot where she’d decided to go see if her luck had changed? Ugh… have I stumbled on an ancient cemetery or something… she thought with this weird look on her face as she… glowered at the bone that was now half-shattered, possibly crumbling to dust due to the impact of her shovel. “Bleah,” she muttered, quickly smashing the flat side of the shovel against the ground in a fit of temporary rage, before huffing and picking up the water bottle and taking a sip. She then decided that the spot he’d found was a bad idea, and then picked up her backpack and then decided to check out another area—because, had she found some ancient burial ground of zombies in wonderland?
After some listless wandering, she then found another untouched spot and then began hissing once more. “I swear, if this spot gives me another bone I’ll eat this thing…” she muttered quite darkly as she dropped the backpack once more onto the ground, and then began hacking away at the dirt with the shovel. The bottle of water was now almost empty, and her luck seemed to be running a bit on the low side now. Come on, come on, come on… give me something that’s neither a dead body part nor a relic item… I swear if it’s a crown I am going to smash it with the shovel… she thought with this dark look on her face as the shovel continued to hack away at the stubborn dirt; hoping that something good would come to pass! I can’t believe that my luck ran out already. Come on, that’s not fair… she continued musing to herself as she tossed pile after pile of dirt over her shoulder.

Izumi had gotten so focused on digging, she didn’t realize that she’d already found something of value! As the latest shovelful of dirt hit the pile that was slowly but steadily building up behind her, she couldn’t help but get the feeling that she thought she heard something clinking around. Wondering if it was just a trick her mind was playing on her, she then stuck the shovel into the ground and then shifted her attention to the pile of dirt, quickly brushing off the top layer and starting to paw through it herself. After a few minutes of frantic searching, she felt…something, that wasn’t as soft as the dirt underneath her grip. Her fingers instinctively gripped harder on the thing, allowing her other hand to get digging and searching so that she wouldn’t lose it! Sometime of brushing off dirt later, it revealed… another marble! This one definitely didn’t look like anything she owned, and just to confirm, she then pulled out the carrying case she always lugged around with her to check.
Unzipping the top, it then revealed the number of sparkling treasures inside it; along with the other one she’d found a few days ago—and then realized that this one had a very different coloration—what did it mean? “Hmm… certainly doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen… ehh, I’ll take it along with me. Who knows if I manage to crack the code as to whom this one and the other one belongs to,” she said to herself, looking down at the Mawilite that she’d recently discovered (and didn’t know who it belonged to either). She then squatted down carefully, balancing the carrying case on her thigh as she brushed off the remaining grit stuck on the new marble; and then carefully placed it inside. She’d have enough time to fix the arrangement later… or get a new box altogether and just use that one instead; the carrying case with her right now was only meant to hold a maximum of ten marbles plus the Key Stone at any given time!
