Izumi had decided to continue searching through the area—because there were still so many spots to look out for, and so many spots to go digging in! The only problem here was that, would her own luck hold out and would she be able to find another one of the pretty little marbles? She had the shovel slung across one shoulder, her backpack draped across another—and the day hadn’t even gotten started yet! She then continued walking around, trying to look for another place that she may not (or even already had) touched, and after looking around the sweltering heat, finally found another deserted area that looked good enough for digging through—or rampaging through, if her search proved to be futile.
“Well, time to get to work, then,” she muttered, quickly setting the backpack down onto the dirt again, and then sticking the shovel into the ground, before starting to dig. She knew that the day was going to be extremely hot, so she deemed it wise to get out of the area once she’d found whatever she was looking for, because getting sunburned while on an excavation was just the absolute worst! Note to self: always apply sun block before heading out here… though I want to try and see if digging here in the evening would yield more interesting results… she thought to herself as she then continued digging through the new location where she was at—who knew what she was going to find this time around?!

After a few minutes of digging, Izumi felt the shovel scrape against something… that sounded like rock. She then poked the spot with the tip of the shovel again, before sighing—looks like today wasn’t her day, at least in this particular area. She knew that this spot was a bad one, so she then picked up the backpack she’d dropped not too far away, before leaving the half-buried Relic item in the dirt and then hiked around, looking for another spot—this time sending out her Garchomp and Swampert “dynamic digging duo” in order to be able to cover more ground upon arrival at the next location. The two then appeared out of the burst of red light—and they were surprised to find out that their mistress wasn’t digging, but rather she was hiking—and that made them look at her out of confusion.
“Gar?”
“Swampert?”
“I… just come with me, guys,” she began, marching forward. The two looked at each other, and then shrugged before keeping up with her. Sooner or later, she then arrived at another spot, before looking around. “Alright, guys, you know what to do,” she continued with a grin—and then the two looked at each other again, before leering and then making a mad dash towards another spot that looked promising to them, diving into the ground to begin their search. “Heh, those two are always so eager…” she added with a grin on her face as she then set down her backpack and then began digging at the new location that she’d walked to. New strategy: abandon a spot if the thing you get is crap. At least it works… she thought to herself as she then proceeded to move piles of dirt off to one side—she wanted to bring out Ivan, but there was no way in hell she was going to be digging in a sandstorm!

At the new spot, Izumi proceeded to dig in silence, but found nothing. She could only guess that her companions may have found something a bit more interesting, and her mind then began to wander around, trying to sift through the little piles of dirt she’d dug up so far. Over at where the “dynamic duo” were digging through the dirt—once again, if they were to be understood, this is what they would have been conversing about:
“You know, I don’t have any idea why our Mistress has this weird look in her eyes. Is it because of someone she’s encountered lately?”
“Honestly, I can only say it must be that blonde-haired guy she was with. You remember the Fallarbor Fallout? The one where we helped drive back the horde? That could be the case.”
“She’s still bushing you know. I can read her face like an open book!”
“She’s so obvious, if only we could push ‘em together…!”
“You think she’d like it?”
While the two were chuckling underground, back topside, Izumi was still not having too much success in finding something. Most of the dirt she’d dug up was just, well, dirt. Sighing, she then decided to take a break, and opened her backpack, before acquiring a water bottle and then draining half of its contents in one drink! Is today going to be another temperature-breaker?! She thought to herself as she then finished off the contents; before turning around to see that her Swampert had resurfaced; and was apparently holding something in its hands—it didn’t look like anything she’d seen, though.
“Oh, no… Yuya, thank you for trying… but… can you and Draken keep searching? That’s not what we need, sorry… ask Draken, he knows what we’re hunting for,” she said with an apologetic tone, patting the Swampert’s head as it then set down the fossil down to one side. “Alright, time to get going…”
She then picked up the backpack and shovel; before continuing to another spot not too far away from where the two ‘mons were tunneling; and then started digging through that location.

She then watched as the Swampert then went back to where its partner-in-crime was digging, before stretching its legs and then diving back into the hole that the Garchomp had created. Izumi knew that she had to get digging; otherwise she’d miss out on another treasure hunting opportunity! She then continued to dig through the mound that she was working on…and then heard an ominous-sounding crack. “Uh-oh…” she muttered to herself as she then hastily unearthed the thing that she’d hit—and saw that it was a now-shattered vase! Cringing internally, she then knew that this spot was a bad idea—and then quickly picked up her backpack and shovel, before moving down the area to another spot that looked a bit more promising. What was it with her today; why was she getting a lot of duds these days anyway? Maybe he’s having terrible luck too, who knows? She thought to herself as she then set down her backpack and then stuck the shovel first into the ground, before pausing to take a breather.
She saw that the two were diving in and out of the ground, as always; and she then crossed her fingers, hoping that the next thing she found would be something that she could keep—or something that she’d just end up smacking the shovel against out of frustration; because after the first successful dig, she was now getting a lot of duds. “Well then, let’s go…” she muttered once more, picking up said shovel; before wiping down the sweat on her forehead and then returning to the digging that was waiting for her. Please give me something good, please give me something good, please give me something good… she chanted in the back of her mind over and over, much like a mantra—she was sorely tempted to fling the shovel out of frustration if her digging got her something that was completely worthless in the long run! Come on, I know something good’s out there, waiting for me… come on, come on, come on… she continued to herself, shoveling aside armfuls of dirt while scanning them for anything unusual.

After what felt like an eternity, it was the Garchomp that had found something—however it wasn’t the kind of “something” that they liked finding. The Swampert then looked up in confusion to see that its partner had stopped digging—and that there was this noticeable scowl on its face. Wondering what was wrong, this was the dialogue that the two shared; if they could be understood by human ears:
“Oh, crap.”
“What? What is it, Drak? You found something?”
“Yeah, Yu. I found something, but… it’s not the best thing that one would ever want to encounter. You know, I think Misterss should have taken a chance with the Fossil you found earlier… all the stuff she’d found afterwards was just pure junk. I… I feel sorry for her.”
“So… how do we break the bad news?”
“Well… let’s just head on over to where she is and just drop it in front of her; then watch how she’d react…”
The two then reached this agreement, and then slowly made their way back up the hole, dragging their steps—they knew that their mistress was looking pretty desperate; and now that they’d found something…they were not sure how she would tackle this. Over at where Izumi was digging, she had come to a stop and was wiping her forehead down again because of the sweat that had accumulated. Now that she was starting to feel a bit icky, she decided to stop and take a breather—and then saw that there was a shadow obscuring the sunlight… looking up expectantly, she saw that the Garchomp had emerged, however, what it was holding in its claws… was something she was not expecting to get at all! “Urgh… crap, crap, crap…” she said, dropping the shovel and taking the stone crown that the Garchomp had dropped in her hands.
The Garchomp and Swampert then looked at each other, before looking at her—and this was where she reacted—she then tossed the crown aside, and then hugged the two, before saying, “I know today’s not a good day… shall we go on a short vacation after we drop this thing off for cash?” and the two ‘mons were surprised, they then attempted to hug back—only the Swampert had succeeded in doing so, because the Garchomp had blades for arms, who were you kidding. She then sniffed a bit, before recalling the two and picking up the old, dusty crown; hefting it up on one hand and packing up her scattered equipment; before exiting the premises—she was a bit dismayed; but at least she could get some cash from this weird thing…
