Well, Josh hadn't expected to sit on the back of a Gyarados today.
Yet here he was. With Lightning sitting on his shoulder, he stared out at the sea as Dewford Town came into view. How long had this giant serpent been ferrying thing across the waters? He didn't know, an hour? He was surprised it hadn't gone into a blind rage by now and killed all three of them. Still, he smiled over at Yumi as he enjoyed the ocean view they had. She'd wanted to prove that the Gyarados was alright, after all, and able to surf across the water without issue despite it's... Problems.
"How's he holding up there, Yumi?" he asked her, tilting his head. He couldn't tell, being on the creature's back, and this being the first time he'd rode anything as big as a Gyarados. He didn't know if it's swimming patterns by what he could feel were normal for a Gyarados or not. Yumi's word would be the best he could get until he got himself a Gyarados of his own.
"Pi-chu!" Lightning let out excitedly, enjoying the view just as much as his Trainer was.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
"Who's a good boy? Who's a good little gyrados today?~ You are! You are you little cutie you.~" Sitting atop the head of the Gyrados as Josh rested further along its back, her hands constantly scratching around its top frill, which it seemed to enjoy, giving it a little peck on its forehead, turning her head at Josh's questions and withdrawing her hands for now. "Ko-ken? Keep an eye on Norris' directions?" The fighting type noded, climbing up the water types neck and offering a hand to Yumi, who quickly used it to switch places, landing on the part of Norris' back Josh was using.
The serpent was swimming with most of its body above the water, much more like a snake than a normal gyrados, but Yumi had trained him specifically to keep them dry on shorter trips that didnt require so much speed. "He's fine, honestly. I just need to keep him on the right path, trust me, he wouldn't hurt a fly even if it poked him in the eye." She gave Josh a warm smile, nodding the the sky above them, pointing out the noivern flying above, clearly not flying normally, forcibly maintaining a slower pace. "We have Rodrigeze..." She nodded to the water, a Scrafty sitting on a surfboard as Oscar lay on the rest of it, paddling alongside Norris. "And Oscar in case Norris knocks us off by accident. But what do ya think? He ain't bad for being a little loose brained huh?"

Josh laughed a bit at Yumi's treatment of the Gyarados, and moreso at his reactions. It was rather... Unusual for a Gyarados to behave that way, but at the same time it was... Well, quite frankly it was fucking adorable. A big grin crossed his face at the display before he watched her come down.
He watched her come over and smiled a bit, giving a small wave, one which his Pichu, Lightning repeated. It was kinda cute how the little Pichu seemed to take cues from and imitate his Trainer at times, almost like a child learning from his father. At times, it might even seem like Lightning switched from a Trainer/Pokemon perspective, to either one of brothers, or even for one of Father/Son, at times. Of course, the blonde was really all the little guy had, and having had little exposure to his real mom since he was really young, Josh was more or less his Trainer, his brother and his daddy, and the one he learned from and picked up cues from. Much of that was evident in the bond they seemed to share, that was almost obvious the more you looked at them.
"Aye" he said at her words. "He's different from any Gyarados I've seen, that's for sure, but unique is always good" he said with a chuckle. "He still seems to love you to pieces, and you seem to feel the same, that's what counts in the end. And you've obviously trained him well despite his difficulties"
He looked up at the Noivern that she pointed out, with Lightning once again imitating his Trainer, and then at the Pokemon she pointed out. He would smile again as he looked over at Yumi. "Not bad, not bad at all" he said with a playful grin. "You've raised him well, I can see that. He doesn't seem to have much problem at all, even if he had problems previously from that oxygen issue. One of the things that makes a great Trainer is being able to fight through challenges and come out better for it, and you and Norris reflect that perfectly" he said with a small smile. "Color me impressed"

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Now sitting on Norris' back Yumi couldn't help but chuckle as she watched lightning's little paw wave in time with his trainers, finding it extremely adorable that the two seemed to have a brotherly connection rather than just being a trainer and his pokemon. Yumi knew she had bonds with her pokemon, more than some other trainers, but nothing she could deam to be sister or brother-like.
"Well I do pride myself on having a somewhat "unique" team of pokemon, heck you could probably find every crazy steryotype in the book somewhere in my little family. The crazy uncle, the rude cousin, the scaredy cat younger brother, you name it, I got one somewhere.~" She gave a warm little chuckle, resting her hands behind her and pushing up off them to lounge a little during the trip. Little did she know she wouldn't be relaxing for long...
Yumi was about to speak again, when a sudden shout from her Chesnaught caught her attention. Glancing to the grass type swimming beside them, and Gavin, who was now standing on the surfboard rather than relaxing. "Hey, something up you two?" As if to answer her question with a "yes", Norris came to a sudden halt, nearly forcing Ko-ken to fall over his head if the sawk hadn't held on as he did. "Okay..." Slowly coming to a stand, Yumi tried her best to look past Norris' neck, holding out a hand to Josh behind her, telling him to stay put when she tried to see what was going on. Whatever Norris, Oscar, and Gavin had sensed, it didn't seem to be there anymore, but as her gaze was making a turn to look back to the trainer she'd brought with her, a disturbance in the water caught her attention. Her amber eyes followed it all the way behind Norris, the water dragons own head turning curiously as he wasn't entirely sure what had been swimming around him.
The water lay still for a moment, but Yumi and her pokemon remained cautious, and rightly so. Like a viscious, multi headed hydra, the terrifying maws of six Gyrados appeared behind them, causing every hair on the red head's scalp to shoot up on end, Norris' eyes to widen, Ko-ken to scramble to get between Yumi and the viscious creatures, Oscar rose a free arm, his grassy gauntlet expanding into a shield, and Gavin getting out the compactable shovel he kept in his pants, pulling his head over his horns and eyes.
Despite the fear suddenly filling her, Yumi quickly put her foot down twice on Norris back, nowhere near hard enough to hurt him, but enough to get his attention. "Norris! Top speed!" The Gyrados gave a nod, and as the Gyrados behind them, who had likely thought Norris was invading their territory, gave chase as Yumi's pokemon spurred through the water, impressively still keeping his back above the water. To keep up, Oscar put all his strength into kicking behind the surfboard as Gavin used his shovel like a paddle, managing to keep up and ahead of the Gyrados.
Turning to Josh, keeping her body low so as not to fall off of Norris, Yumi lifted a pokeball off her belt, having switched out a member of her team before hopping atop Norris with Josh. "This guy may need some help. I'd really appreciate it if Lightning could provide backup." She gave off a tone that would hopefully let Josh know she could handle this on her own if he didn't wanna risk his own pokemon, before swiftly sending out her Electabuzz regardless, the stream at Rodrigez, the Noivern who had managed to fly at his normal pace, but now had to flap a little harder as Tarkin, the Electabuzz, formed on his back, the electric type quickly realizing how high up he was and wrapping his arms tightly around the Noivern, even screaming out as he spotted the 6 Gyrados chasing them from behind.
"Heh, remember how I said I have a scared cat younger brother? Thats Tarkin here..." Lifting her body and cupping her hands around her mouth, she called out to the electric type, trying her best to shout out to it. "Tarkin! Open your eyes! Trust me, Rodrigez won't drop you!" Slowly, the electric type seemed to loosen its grip, looking down at Yumi but not daring to look at the Gyrados chasing them from behind. "You'll be okay, Rodrigez won't let them get you. You have a BIG type advantage, so just aim, shoot, and they'll go down okay? You trust me right?"
Even in all this chaos Yumi knew how Tarkin needed her words to even so much as think about fighting these Gyrados, and it showed. With the water kicked up around her by Norris, and the roaring Gyrados behind her, she stood strong, her eyes focused on her pokemon. With a slow nod, Tarkin stood up on Rodrigez' back, winding up one of his arms to get the electricity flowing in his body. With a small smile at her pokemon preparing to fight, yumi turned her eyes back to Josh and Lightning.
"What do you guys say...think you can give me a hand?"

He couldn't help but laugh a bit at her talk of the "stereotypes" of her Pokemon. "I suppose I have some stereotypes myself..." he said, looking over his Pokeballs. He'd switched his team before the trip, wanted to let a few of his newer Pokemon have some time in the sun while some others had a bit of rest... He had his PC linked to his parents's massive breeding grounds, so they had a large open area to roam. The best place for them indeed.
"Lightning, you know him..." he said, motioning to the Pichu on his shoulder. "He's the loyal, but stubborn as hell type" he said with a grin. Pointing to one Pokeball on his belt, he explained. "In that one is Inferno, my Cyndaquil. Switched him out before we left. He's a really timid sort of Pokemon. Gets scared easily, and he is frightened of new things. But he's curious, and that'll override his fear eventually"
He pointed to the next ball. "Vulcan" he said. "My Torchic. He's the energetic and hyper curious stereotype. Have to keep him out of trouble" he said with a chuckle as he pointed to the next one. "Vector, my Totodile" (LIQUID TIME FTW) he commented. "The stereotype that fucking eats everything if he can. Even if it's new and it's a rock"
He pointed to the next on his belt. "Ace. My Pidgeotto. The stereotype that's ballsy as hell and gives no Magicarps" he said with a chuckle as he pointed to the next one.
"... Munchlax. Also eats everything. Doesn't give a Magicarp. Moving on"
Their attention was caught by the calls from Yumi's Pokemon. Yumi stopped Josh from getting up, but he followed her gaze... The disturbances in the water, the Gyarados halting... All were signs that something was wrong.
He didn't have to wait long to find out. Before he knew it, six different Gyarados would pop out of the water, and they looked maaaaad. Josh's eyes widened, almost enough to cause his eyes to pop out of his head. "..... Well, speaking of Magicarp" he snarked quietly as he tried to process what exactly was going on. Nothing better then a little battle humor when you're about to die, right?
"Pichu-Pi...." Lightning murmured in shock and devastation. He felt the same as his Trainer did, almost exactly... Still in time with the bond they shared. He could hear Yumi yell and the Gyarados start speeding up. Josh's gaze simply stared at their pursuers. How in the holy hell were they gonna survive this?
At Yumi's ask for help, Josh smirked as he got to his feet. "I think we can lend a hand" Josh said, chuckling a bit. "Pichu-Pi!" Lightning chirped in agreement as he looked over at the Gyarados behind him, and the Electabuzz's prep for attack.
"What do you suppose we do then, to take these things out?" he asked Yumi.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi gave a bright smile at the fact Josh was willing to help. Sure he was in danger too, but this was putting his pokemon on the line for both their sakes. She made quick glances to the side, and behind her, ensuring Ko-ken, Norris, Gavin and Oscar where all fine, and luckily each of them were managing to keep their cool, and in the case of Oscar and Gavin, keep up. She should probably return them to their pokeballs, but that would mean losing the surfboard Oscar had been wanting so much.
"Thanks Josh. Just keep low, and have your Pichu stike whenever you feel safe okay?" Yumi hoped she didn't sound too bossy, even in the heat of the moment, but at the same time she knew one wrong move with 6 near dragons on your tail was not a good time to beat around the bush. "With that settled, Tarkin! Full power shock!"
From up above, awkwardly finding his footing on the Noivern's back as the dragon tried his best to maintain speed with the extra weight. He hadn't been out in the field for a long time, but hell, he was gonna make this time count, even if his legs were shaking in fear. With the order given, Tarkin locked his eyes onto one of the Gyarados, the one following closest and rose his arm up to take aim, the other locking its fingers around his forearm to steady his aim on the flying dragon.
"Fire!"
Not wanting to waste a second, Tarkin turned his head at the last moment, afraid of some sort of backfire, when the powerful thunderbolt shot from his arm, creating a bright flash that reflected off the nearby ocean, forcing Yumi to bring her shades down over her eyes as she watched the Gyarados begin to writhe the the 4 x super effective attack, before falling down and floating in the water, stiff as a board.

He nodded at her commands without question and kept low, waiting for an opportunity. He and Lightning watched carefully as Yumi's Electabuzz attacked one of the Gyarados, it's powerful electrical attacks frying the giant serpent to a crisp in practically one shot. Lightning's jaw dropped open in awe at the display of electric power... He was envious, impressed.. Motivated. He wanted to be like that too one day, to protect those the little Pichu cared about...
Lightning would climb onto Josh's shoulder and nudge him enough for him to stand up. "Pichu-Pi!" Lightning cried out fiercely, a sign that he wanted to fight too despite the size of his opponents. Josh could sense it, and nodded as he stood to his feet and watched the Gyarados carefully. He waited until one of them was distracted by the flying Noivern and then...
"Lightning, use Thunder Wave!" Josh would suddenly call out with a similar ferocity that his Pichu was exhibiting as he pointed to the Gyarados he had targeted. He would duck his head down as Lighting would let his cheeks spark, before raising his little hands up and releasing a little blue line of sparks that shot toward the Gyarados. The Gyarados would freeze up before it could fire anything at the flying dragon bat and the Electabuzz, leaving it wide open.
With it in the water though, Josh realized that electric attacks would work well against it, which might explain how the Electabuzz beat it so easily... And he smirked. The Pichu seemed to share his confidence right then and there.
Josh would take Lightning in his arms, and they would nod at each other, like they were both as one at that moment. Josh would breathe, confident in their abilities...
"Lightning, use Thundershock!" Josh called out as he tossed his Pichu into the air, giving it the height to aim right at the Gyarados's head...
"Piiii..." he said quietly as the cheeks sparked heavily and the energy charged.... "CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" he would let out in a frenzy as a heavy charge of sparks would shoot toward the Gyarados, with the Pichu giving it all he got this time. The electric shock, which at this point dealt 4x super effective damage with the environment, would fry the Gyarados, the shot to the head only enhancing the damage as Lightning kept shocking best he could. The Gyarados would wobble a bit, and Josh wondered if it did any good... And then it would fall down sideways and float in the water, stiff as a doornail.
Josh would catch Lightning as he fell into his arms and laugh as he scratched the fur on his head. "You did great, Lightning!" he encouraged cheerfully. "Pi-Pi-Pichu!" Lightning chirped excitedly.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi turned her eyes for a moment to watch the pichu battling, somewhat surprised by the fact that Josh and his pokemon were already pretty in sync, even with the Pichu clearly not being too old himself. Of course, she couldn't watch for long, her own pokemon was in danger, and she had to make sure they could take down as many gyarados that were on their tail as possible.
"Yo! Tarkin! How ya doing up there?" Up above Yumi atop the Noivern still, Tarkin felt pumped now that he knew what sort of power he held over their chasers, especially now that he was already charged up for another attack. His arms were winding up and creating an immense static charge, a trick he'd continued since his time as an elekid, unlike many of his kind before him. Yumi smiled proudly, but continued to focus on the task at hand, her eyes growing wide as they turned back to the Gyarados chasing them, one of the dragons stopping to rear his head, a draconic energy charging in his maw as he prepared to strike, shooting his head forward and firing out what Yumi could only recognize as a dragon rage.
"Rodrigez! Loop!"
Without even caring to look behind himself, the dragon trusted Yumi, suddenly picking up the pace and forcing himself higher into the sky, destablizing Tarkin as he litterally took the floor from under his feat, leaving the electric type in the air as he was taken by surprise and forced to fall off. "ELEC!" With the yellow pokemon falling, he barely avoided the dragon rage as it evaporated below him, and free falled until Rodrigez swept back in to catch him on his back, having to keep up with the weight again.
"You okay!?" Tarkin, once again scared shitless, gripped tightly onto the fur around Rodrigez' neck, glaring back at the dragon who had attacked him with every part of him that was not filled with fear being chock full of rage. Raising his fist high and slamming it down, a thunder cloud forming above the near dragon, and shocking it into oblivion with a thunder attack.

Josh was feeling more confident now. A grin crossed his face as he watched the tactics of Yumi. Impressive, he thought to himself. Obviously, she'd had quite a bit of experience, maybe more then she let on. Regardless, there were Gyarados to tackle! No time to gawk, it was showtime!
With his eye catching another Gyarados attempting to make it's way to Yumi's Pokemon, Josh nodded at Lightning. "Alright little buddy, let's do this!" he said as he brought the Pichu into his arms, getting an idea. "Same as last time, toss you up, and you can shock the Gyarados's head to get the most damage. We take down the giant serpent things, then we go get ice cream" he said, chuckling as he patted his head. Lightning let out a sound that if he spoke english it'd sound something like "ICE CREAM!" before Josh tossed Lightning up into the air again.
"Lightning, use Thunder Shock!" Josh called out. "Piiiii...." Lightning muttered, letting his little cheeks spark as he stored the energy needed for the attack. "FIRE!" Josh called out.
"CHUUUUUUU!" Lightning let out as the electricity erupted from the mouse's small body and went roaring toward the Gyarados. Sadly, this one had seen what had happened to his companion and ducked into the water, dodging the shock. "Gah!" Josh let out, gritting his teeth. Lightning would start free-falling. "Pichu! Pichu! Pichu!" Lightning let out as he flailed his arms. Josh would hold out his arms to catch him. "I got you Lightning!" Josh called out, assuring him.
The Gyarados would suddenly come out of the water, and lunge at Lightning in the air with an attempted Crunch. "Lightning! Grab onto it's head!" Josh called out. "Pi!" Lightning would call out as he managed to grab onto the top of it's head before it could make lunch out of the Pichu. It would repeatedly attempt to snap at the Pichu with it's jaws, and Josh gritted his teeth as Lightning barely managed to keep it from snapping his feet off each time. "Lightning, you have to get onto the top of it's head and get further away from it's teeth!" Josh called out loudly, hoping to Arceus that he'd be alright...
"Pichu Pi!" Lightning called out as he managed to hoist his small body onto the Gyarados's head and out of range of the teeth. It would start swimming around rapidly, spinning itself, moving and jerking to and fro, trying to throw the Pichu off in order to get at him. "Lightning, you have to hold on! Give it everything you got, don't let go!" Josh called out.
"Piiiiiiiiii!" Lightning let out in terror as he held on for dear life, knowing that failure meant he was Gyarados lunch. "Damnit...." Josh muttered, his knuckles sheet white as he clenched his fists, obviously very hard. It was a show of stress, if you knew where to look. "Lightning, use Thundershock! He can't hit you from up there!" Josh commanded loudly.
"Pichu!" Lightning responded with a nod. His cheeks would spark again as he let out a "Piiii...." and Josh would hold his breath. This had to work.... "CHUUUUUUUUUUU!" he would let out loudly, giving the Gyarados the hardest shock it could. The electric shocks would start from the head and reverberate through the body of the serpent, with it being soaking wet and in the water only adding to the damage. The Gyarados would let out a roar in pain as it kept trying to throw him off.
"Keep shocking him, Lightning!" Josh called out as the jerking about from the serpent got more and more violent. He didn't know if Lightning could keep holding on....
"I believe in you, Lightning! You have to hold on! Keep hitting him with Thundershock!" Josh yelled out in desperation.
"Piiii.... CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Lightning would let out again in a harsher, more vicious tone, giving the Gyarados a hell of a shock with everything he had. "CHUUUUUUUUUUUUU! CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! CHUUUUUUUUUUU!" could be heard over and over as he repeatedly shocked the Gyarados violently, until finally the Gyarados would stop jerking around....
It was silent for a moment... And then the Gyarados would finally fall into the water, the impact sending the Pichu flying towards Yumi's Gyarados.
"Pichu-Pichuuuuu!" Lightning let out in terror as he flew through the air, flailing his arms. "I got you, Lightning!" Josh called out as he managed to leap up a bit and catch him as he just soared over his head, falling on his back on the Gyarados with Lightning in his arms. They were both breathing heavily, and Josh hugged his Pichu tight. "You did great, buddy... You did great... That was two Gyarados you took out in just a few minutes...." he whispered. "I'm so proud of you..." he complimented his little guy. It was true, this was the most power his Pichu had shown since he'd gotten him...

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
Yumi's attention was taken away from her own pokemon for a short moment. Josh's Pichu seemed to be in a bind for a moment, but with his encouragement the Pichu easily powered through, leaving Yumi with an oddly proud smile aimed towards her temporary comrade. She'd only even known him for a few hours, and heck, she wasn't even sure if she'd formaly gottne his name, but at the same time she could already see he had skill as a trainer, despite his less than impressive roster. Then again, some of them did have some real potential in their later evolutions...
Turning her eyes back to her own situation, 2 Gyarados were left, and Tarkin was more than ready to take on the last of them all by himself, but at the same time Yumi wanted to see if Josh could handle just one more. If not she'd step in of course, but she wanted it to feel like they both had an equal hand in dealing with this. "How we doing there Tarkin? Charged up again?" A confident roar gave her an answer, but next came something she did not expect.
The dragon and the electric type had been discussing how to take one of the last gyarados out, seeing as Tarkin's electrical attacks could disperse before reaching it, and so a plan was formed. To shcok the red head below, Tarkin suddenly turned to face the same direction as rodrigez, holding the dragons fur as the beast of the skies suddenly pulled a U-turn for them both, flying straight at the Gyarados. Tarkin would be lying if he said he wasn't at all scared to be diving in, but at the same time, hell did it give him a rush!
The dragon of the waters saw the threat and wasted no time trying to combat it. Dragon rage after dragon rage was fired, and the masterful noivern, even with the extra weight was able to dodge them with ease, weaving in and out of the draconic attacks like they were nothing, and even having the time to shoot a tailwind to enhance their approach.
Before long, Tarkin was within distance, Rodrigez slowed down as he looped around the Gyarados, allowing Tarkin to stand without worry, glaring down at the sea serpent with an open palm, and a small grin forming on his features, one Yumi only ever saw when he truly got into the swing of a battle.
With a blast of thunderbolt and a flash over the chaotic ocean chase, the Gyarados was writhing and flailing in the ocean, overcome by the attack.
Post by Josh Dragomir on Aug 9, 2014 13:55:30 GMT -5
Josh could hear the battling on Yumi's end as he and Lightning caught their breath. Of course, it was Yumi's mistake to ignore the other Gyarados. But instead of attacking Yumi's other Pokemon... It went straight for her Gyarados.
The Gyarados would ram itself into Yumi's at full speed, which would send the vulnerable Josh and Lightning flying off of the serpent from the impact. "Whoa!" Josh cried out as he flailed in the air. "Pichu-Pi!" Lightning cried out in terror before Josh wrapped his arms around the Pichu, trying to protect it in any way possible as they sailed into the water.
Josh was stunned at first when the two went underwater. The impact had left him immobilized for a short period of time. As he opened his eyes and realized where they were though, his eyes widened. He tightened his hold on Lightning, who was clinging to his Trainer in terror and holding his breath, his eyes tightly shut. Josh of course, wasn't so lucky and hadn't gotten a chance to hold his breath with being too busy attempting to protect Lightning. Josh's mouth went wide open and bubbles floated out as his cheeks started turning blue. The blonde would start kicking his feet viciously, desperately trying to reach the surface before the both of them drowned.
"Gah!" Josh let out as his head burst out of the surface, placing Lightning on his above-water shoulder once he got further up. Both of them took a large gulp of air, happy to be alive!
... Not for long.
Josh looked up to see his absolute worst nightmare. The Gyarados, right in front of them. It looked mad.... The Gyarados would let out a roar and lunge toward Josh and Lightning. Josh's eyes widened, this was the end, they had nowhere to go...
"Gah!" Josh let out as he braced himself for impact. But suddenly, Lightning would leap off Josh's shoulder, leaping high as he could toward the Gyarados... "Pichu!" he let out fiercely as he leapt...
Josh's eyes widened, his expression a look of horror. "LIGHTNING!" he screamed, his voice echoing for miles as he could only float helplessly.
"PICHU!" Lightning let out loudly, and then he would suddenly be engulfed in a white light... The Gyarados would stop, Josh would stop, his eyes wide. "L-Lightning....?" he whispered as he watched this go on.....
The light had been blinding almost, brighter then any Josh had ever seen. It had shone across the area like a lighthouse's beacon. Finally, it would disappear, and in the Pichu's place was a... Pikachu!
"Lightning!" Josh called out, not being able to believe it... Lightning had evolved into Pikachu!
"Pika-Pi!" Lightning chirped toward his Trainer in mid-air, before turning to the Gyarados, who had overcome it's stunned surprise to roar and lash out at the Pikachu again. Of course, Lightning wasn't going to let this happen...
His cheeks sparked as he flew through the air, and a gleam appeared in his eye.. Lightning was using Nasty Plot!
"Pika...." Lightning muttered as the cheeks would start sparking even more viciously. "CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" he would suddenly let out as a large burst of static electricity would crash into the Gyarados's head, covering it in a blanket of electricity across it's body as it spread. It would let out a roar in pain before it would crash into the water, fainted like a dead doornail as the Pikachu fell into the water. Josh would quickly swim over and grab Lightning, laughing a bit as he held his Pikachu close. "You scared me there, little buddy" he said quietly as he hugged him tight. "Pika-Pi!" Lightning let out excitedly. "Chaaa~"
Josh smiled before he managed to carry Lightning over to Yumi's Gyarados and climb back on. "Whew, that was... Fun?" he said as he looked around at the horde of Gyarados they had just clobbered. "Pikachu!" Lightning chirped in response.

"YES OUR TEETH AND AMBITIONS ARE BARED! BE PREPARED!"
So, what would be the most eloquent way to describe yumi's thought process when the Gyarados attempted to make a strike for Norris? Would she have thoughts of imminent danger? Would her life flash before her eyes? Would she show a desire to live? Would Ko-ken or Oscar, or even Gavin jump to her aid? The only clue the world had to her inner thoughts were these next few words.
"HOLY MILTANK!"
With Norris swerving to take the least amount of damage possible, his body flailed in the water for a moment, forcing the red head to duck down and grip the underside of his thick scales, holding on as she could only watch as Josh was flung into the water with lightning. As soon as Norris settled, she tried her best to remedy the situation.
"OSCAR! GAVIN! GO AFTER JOSH!"
Truth be told she was never smart enough to ask if the guy could swim, so the fact he was flung into the middle of the ocean was a huge worry for her. Realizing the urgency of the situation, the two fighting types would begin their paddling behind the surfboard at full power, swerving it around to meet go after Josh. With lightning sparking through the water, Oscar kept his distance for his own safety, but as soon as the electrical currents had stopped, he managed to get in close, and would aid Josh back to Norris, Yumi grabbing his hand and pulling him up the moment they got back.
"Heh, fun, I guess you could call it that." She looked back over the twitching and comatose gyarados, chuckling a little before turning to lightning, rubbing his head between the ears. "Hey you, knocking out big sea serpents! No wonder you evolved!" She lifted her fist for a little bump from the pikachu, hoping he had enough energy left to give her some.
With the battle over, and Yumi done congratulating her friend, she whistled for Ko-ken's attention, the fighter patting Norris to tell him to turn around. Slowly the ride would become more smooth, and even Tarkin, psyched from the battle and his horns sparking just a little, would return to the gyarados as Rodrigez flew above.
"Hey, lend me a hand and take these." Yumi handed Josh some ultra balls from her inventory. "I don't need these guys, but we cant just leave 'em here for some sharpedo, so help me catch them and maybe I'll let you decide what we do with them.~" With the ultra balls she kept, Yumi would begin flinging them at the surrounding gyarados.

Josh shook the water out of his hair and clothing. He was absolutely drenched, and quite frankly he was freezing. But it was over, they'd taken down all the Gyarados. He could feel Lightning shivering against him and he wrapped his arms around him tight to try and give the Pikachu as much warmth as possible despite himself freezing and his body heat not really helping Josh himself.
"Pika~" Lightning chirped to Yumi's response and, after a brief hesitation managed to fistbump the redhead. Josh couldn't help but laugh a bit despite being cold as hell. Josh would nod as he took the balls, watching Yumi's Pokemon return to her. "Alright" he said to her request as he started tossing one Ultra Ball after another. They would suck up the comatose Gyarados that Yumi hadn't grabbed and return to his hands, which would start wobbling. Of course, Josh doubted the Gyarados had much energy at all to keep from being captured...
Of course, it wouldn't take long to find out.

One by one, the balls started letting out that sound that Josh knew all too well. How many Gyarados had they caught now? Who knows?
