Knowing that she was still on the lookout for that particular-looking lion cub, Izumi then decided to try her luck elsewhere, if but to test the fact that there were some Kalos-native ‘mons that were just pretty much elusive in her search-cum-training mission. After flying halfway across the region, she finally arrived at the outskirts of Vaniville Town, hoping to try her luck in this area. Well, Ivan got a lot of practice out there; now I just need to train the other two… but should it be Mau or Arion? She thought to herself as she then set down on the grassy outskirts, trying to see if she would be able to find that extremely elusive cub that had evaded her sights for so long. As of the moment, the Kalos-natives that she had were… quite a few, and most of them (barring a few exceptions) happened to be the ones she was looking for; but she really wanted to round off her extremely long wish list because it was just nuts having a ton of wanted Pokémon scattered across all six regions. The fact that I want all the Eevee evolutions is not going to help matters at all.
What the hell am I thinking, eight! All of ‘em! She thought to herself, shaking her head as she then began walking around, commencing the search. Let’s see… if I got that right, that would be Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon… shoot they said there was a new one but I don’t know what it’s called. Eh, I’ll find out in time… she thought to herself as she counted off all of the names of the Eevee evolution line that she knew, and came up with seven—barring the original of course. Wonder if someone’s already done that, get all the Eevees and use just those in combat… maybe I’d like to add that to the list of things that I’m already doing!!! She chastised herself, smacking a palm to her forehead as she then craned her neck around, trying to pick up on every single little noise that was going on around her—the noises of nature… and possibly an approaching Pokémon?!

The grass was twitching, and Izumi knew that she had to spring into action! Plucking a Pokeball from her jacket, she then hoped for the best as she tossed it and watched as its occupant fell out—the flash of red light revealed, along with a heavy thudding noise on the ground that she had sent out her Lairon, who had the not-too-creative nickname of Arion. Well then, time to get him going! She thought to herself as the surprised Zigzagoon then saw that it was not alone—and then outright decided to defend its territory by chucking the berry that it was holding right at him! “Whoa there! Alright, you asked for it. Arion, tighten up your defense right now! After that, go in and ram your entire body against that…thing! We’re not even doing anything! Go!” and watched as the Lairon sprang into action, coiling its enire body in and then suddenly gaining a metallic sheen; a sign that Iron Defense had come into play. After that, he then uncoiled himself from the defensive position—and then rocketed towards the Zigzagoon, who was now staring at the incoming Lairon like a deer caught in headlights!
Its only defense was to give it the “please don’t hit me” look, otherwise known as its Baby-Doll Eyes status-change; but that didn’t stop the Lairon from ramming its entire body into the little raccoon-like thing; having used its Double-Edge attack now, he then waited for further orders. “Alright, you’re in close range, whip out your tail!” she continued from the sidelines, and with some difficulty, the Lairon then completed a 360-degree turn and then brought its hardened tail slamming down onto the Zigzagoon, who had tried to Fling another random object at the incoming, crashing being that had entered its territory! However, the Iron Tail had missed the Zigzagoon by mere inches, as it had scrambled out of the way in order to look for something else it could toss at the invader. The look on Izumi’s face was quite surprising—who knew that a teeny-tiny Zigzagoon could give her this much of a headache?
“Ram your head in, don’t miss this time!” she continued, and the Lairon then roared, before tucking its head in and then rushing forward, intent on knocking the Zigzagoon out of the way as it then found a rock and then picked it up, before Flinging it forward again! The rock did bounce off the Lairon’s head, but it was not deterred as the Iron Head connected against the offending Zigzagoon, sending it flying back into the bushes where it had come from! “Whoops… well, that’s that,” she muttered to herself, whistling for her Lairon to back down and to follow her once again—they were still on the hunt!

After managing to scare off the Zigzagoon, Izumi the looked around, muttering random curses under her breath—was it really just that freaking elusive at this point? She thought she heard a scuffling noise not too far behind her, so with a finger on her lips, she signaled to the Lairon to keep quiet as she inched forward towards the source of the noise. Arion, on the other hand tried to lumber along as quietly as it could manage—but then the grass in front of it shook, and out came a tumbling… Budew. Ah shoot. You have got to be kidding me! She thought with an incredible palm that smacked her forehead, just as the Budew stared at the Lairon—and at the Trainer who seemingly owned the Lairon that was now plodding along behind her. Geez, you could give me the thing I’m looking for… she thought to herself as she stared at the heavens before flipping the finger at it, secretly cursing her bad luck all the same.
After some silent moments, she then whistled in the Lairon’s direction, before saying, “Come on, let’s keep moving. Don’t want to hurt anything that looks too young to take on someone like you. I still believe in some shred of mercy…” she muttered, and the overly-eager Lairon then frowned for a bit; before following his mistress away from the Budew who was still staring at the two retreating figures. There were some crazy thoughts running in her mind, but apparently this was not the time to be dancing and singing all over—she really was hell-bent on getting a cute, cuddly lion of her own so that she could at least try her hand at raising another Kalos-native species… I already have the Skrelp and the Doublade… getting way too tired of seeing all those crazy flowers. I swear if I run into another Flabebe one more time I am going to raze it to the ground. Expect no mercy, she continued musing to herself as she then continued her search through the tall grass.

After shooing off the Budew that had seemingly rolled out of its nest, Izumi could only sigh—what others were waiting for her? I have to change my hunting location soon; otherwise I’m out of options. But where else can I find that darned Litleo? She thought to herself, coming to a stop—and almost tipping over forward because Arion had accidentally bumped into her. She then felt the center of gravity shift forward ever so slightly—and almost fell to the ground, had she not pushed her other foot forward to steady herself! Don’t tell Arion off, it was an accident. It was a complete accident, she thought as she straightened up—only to see Arion was already growling at their next encounter, and it was another Electric-type that came from her home region. “Oh, hell no,” she muttered to herself, slapping a palm to her forehead; she’d continue searching in this area a few more times before proceeding to the next place. “Alright, since it’s apparently attacking—Arion, tighten your defense now!” she began, watching as the Lairon then gained a sudden metallic sheen; a sign that Iron Defense had been activated! In retaliation, the Minun then let of a cluster of sparks, before charging, tossing its entire body weight against the Lairon in a Spark attack!
“Be careful, Ari! Counter that and smack your hard head against it!” she said, before suddenly realizing just…how…wrong the last few words sounded! She then snorted to herself; and the Lairon, quite surprisingly complied, lowering its maw and then countering with a point-blank Iron Head attack, tossing the Minun off to one side! It then let out a yelp of surprise; before it charged up its body again—but instead of ramming itself into the Lairon, it then flailed its tiny limbs to the heavens, before the clouds went dark—and then a huge bolt of lightning dropped down from the sky! “Dodge that!” she shouted, and the Lairon rolled off to one side—the Thunder attack had hit the spot where it was standing just moments before she knew that the darkening sky was bad news! “Alright! Slam your tail into it! Go!” she continued, and the Lairon then turned around, before going into a backwards charge and aiming with its Iron Tail attack—the Minun had decided to charge towards it again with another Spark attack; yet it had gotten caught in the Lairon’s “reverse charge” and was sent backwards again with another yelp of surprise!
Now that the Lairon had skidded around and was facing the Minun again, she decided to top the cake, “Go in and slam it as hard as you can, Ari! So that we can be on our way and keep looking!” and the Lairon gave a grunt, before throwing all of its body weight into a Double-Edge attack; just as the Minun came charging in again with another Spark attack—and the two bodies collided; and a temporary flash of light erupted from the point of impact. After the lights show had faded, she saw that her Lairon was still standing—and the Minun was nowhere to be seen. Knocked away, I guess, she thought, as she whistled for Arion to follow her—this search was going to be another long one!

Izumi trudged forward, hoping that this last one would count; the Lairon wasn’t even exhausted in the slightest. Wondering what the scuffling noise would bring, she then strode forward…and saw that a Bidoof had crashed through the undergrowth and was now staring at her like it had trespassed on the territory it was building up! “Oh, seriously…” she groaned to herself, slapping a palm to her face and letting it run down the entire length of her face. Is my luck really this horrible? She thought to herself as the Lairon caught up with her and then apparently scowled at the Bidoof—even he was displeased at what he was seeing in front of their path. Should I spare it? Or should I bring it to the afterlife? She thought as she considered the options, before recalling the Lairon back into his Pokeball; and then waving a hand at the Bidoof. “You can go now. Sorry if I strode into your territory. You’re not the one I’m looking for… anyway,” she muttered to herself as she turned heel in order to continue searching around the area; she wasn’t giving up, at least not in this new area. It had taken her a lot of searching around Camphrier but nothing appeared; nothing except for that weird flower-riding Fairy-type. Yeah I better keep searching I’m going to find it soon enough… soon! She thought to herself, squaring her shoulders again and striding deeper into the grasslands around Vaniville.
