ours had passed since Jason had arrived in the Fortree Forest after fleeing Rustboro. He could barely believe what had happened.. He looked over to his left, across from the small fire that was in the center of his little camp site, at Melena, his Altaria. She had flown for hours to get them here and deserved her rest, as did Diamond, whose gems sparkled in the dying firelight as she slept. Even little Elphaba, who had teleported them out of danger. Jason got up, grabbed one of the many pokeballs in his bag, and started walking away from the camp site. He didn't really care that he had almost thirty pokemon on him, the League was already hunting him down, so what difference did it make if he carried around all of his pokemon? It's not like he could just walk into a Pokemon Center and use the PC, police would be on him immediately.
Jason sighed as he dug his hands in his pockets, gripping the pokeball. It wasn't fair. He had been forced into the situation by some stranger and was then accused of.. murdering people. Jason would never kill anyone! Yet, the police had chased him and his pokemon, so that was how he found himself hiding in the Fortree Forest, surrounded by the wild..

ason turned a corner, around a rather large tree, and was quite surprised and amused by what he saw. Two little feet were kicking up from the ground, the other half of the body being stuck in the earth. Muffled cries could be heard as the poor pokemon called for help, yet no one would come. Chuckling, Jason pulled out the pokeball from his pocket and tossed it in the air, revealing Hera the Sneasel. "Snee?" she asked, confused as to where they were and why there were tiny feet sticking out from the earth. Jason pointed at the feet and said, "Help that pokemon get unstuck, please." "Snee." She replied, and grabbed onto the feet and pulled as hard as she could.
She pulled too hard. The pokemon came flying out of the ground and landed on its feet with an audible thump, glaring at Hera. "SEEEEEDOOOOT!" It yelled, before glowing white, and then a flash of green energy came forth from it. Hera, however, was already in action when she saw the anger in the eyes of the Seedot. She flash froze the water in the air to create shards of ice and hurled them at the pokemon, so that the ice and green energy collided, causing a flash of light. Jason was temporarily blinded by the blast of light form the collision, but Hera was once more on top of the situation. She had shut her eyes when the blast began, and quickly jumped into the air above the Seedot, and while it was blinded, attacked it. The Seedot, confused and now in pain, would begin to glow, releasing a beam of energy skyward, causing a miniature sun to come forth and glow, clearing the smoke away. Other than brightening the area, nothing changed. Hera took the chance to launch another flurry of ice chunks at the seed pokemon.
"Great job, Hera!" Jason said, artificial sun showing the damage she had done to the small pokemon. She rolled her eyes at the compliment, but turned, hiding the small smile. With a shrug at his pokemon's apparent rudeness, Jason found a pack of minimized pokeballs and tossed one of them at the Seedot.

he pokeball glowed white for a few seconds before letting out a high pitches ding, signaling the capture of the small seed Pokemon. Jason went to his newly captured pokemon and put it in his pocket, hoping he would have a chance to heal it once they got back to their small camp. For now, however, Jason wanted to continue exploring the Fortree Forest. The artificial light that was shining from the Seedot's attack earlier illuminated the forest and showed Jason its natural beauty. From where he stood the forest unfolded around him, the enormous trees reaching up and caressing the night sky. It truly was a sight to behold. Jason laid a hand on the nearest tree, and smiled, remembering some of the stories Jasmine had told him. Tales of people living in the woods, living off the land and in harmony with the pokemon that inhabited it, never needing to harm one another. All of this apparently happened within this very forest. He kept his hand on the trunk of the huge tree, listening to Jasmine's voice in his head and desperately trying to forget his current situation.
Hera, on the other hand, was bored. She had just defeated an enemy, one who should have been grateful, and now her trainer was... She honestly had no idea what he was doing. Bringing a claw up, to block the bright rays of the unnatural sunlight, she looked around for anymore potential enemies. Trainer might have been lost in the past, but Hera was keeping her sights set on the present, ready for anything and everything.

s she gazed out into the depths of the forest, Hera saw a flash of light. It was nothing drastic, like that of a pokeball or an electric type move, but it was definitely there. With a quick turn of her head to check on her Trainer, who was still having a one on one moment with that tree, she decided he would be fine if she went to investigate. Hopping and dashing forward into the forest, Hera came closer and closer to the source of the odd flashing light. A few more dashes got her deeper into the forest and she finally came face to face with the source of light.
The glowing yellow eyes of the Volbeat stared into Hera's eyes, confused as to what she was doing there. His mating ritual was meant to attract an Illumise, not a Sneasel. At least he got the gender right this time, memories of an unsuccessful ritual bringing in masses of Volbeat. With not much to say about the dark type pokemon before him, the Volbeat turned around to leave, when he was suddenly blasted in the back with shards of ice. Furious, he turned around and looked for the Sneasel that had just been there. The pokemon, however, seemed to have disappeared into the darkness. Oh no, the Volbeat was having none of that. His tail began to shine brightly, reflecting the anger he held, and illuminated the area, revealing the Sneasel. Hera struck out, her claws glowing, and slashed through the glowing bug pokemon. It screamed in pain, this scream however was imbued with energy that lashed out at Hera, causing her to fall to the ground in pain.
Withering in pain, she held her claw up in the air again, the water in the air flash freezing and being hurled at the bug pokemon, sending it deep into the woods. While she layed there, her ears still ringing from the odd attack of the Volbeat, she found what seemed to be a claw on the ground, and held onto it. Her instincts taking over, Hera found herself holding onto the claw like item with all her might in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar forest.

hile she gripped the claw like item, sparkles began to bounce off of her curled up body. Hera, nearly unconscious, gripped tighter and tighter onto the item, completely unaware that it was slowly dissolving into her skin. Why was she doing this? She had no idea. It had just called to her and with her mind being so fogged up from the Volbeat's odd bug attack, she followed her instincts. The sparks got more and more violent until she lit up like a firework show, beams of white energy shooting off of her. In an explosion of cosmic energy and light, Hera evolved! She was no longer a Sneasel, but now a Weavile! Faster, stronger, and more agile, Hera no longer feared the bug pokemon.
She stood up, and stretched her new muscles, and then began to run towards the direction she had hurled the Volbeat. As Hera ran through the forest, her speed increased incredibly, and everything around her moved in a blur. Mere seconds later and Hera found herself face to face with the downed bug. It made an attempt for the same attack as earlier, but Hera was faster. She had lifted her claw up in the air before the bug type pokemon even realized, and she slashed out it, cutting its jugular and killing it.
Proud of her kill, Hera made her way back to her trainer with lightning fast speed. Entering the small clearing she had last seen him at, Hera was relieved to see Jason snoozing on the ground next to the tree, his head resting on the trunk of the large tree. She approached him and very gently poked his knee, causing him to stir. "..Hnggsdfhaffg.." He mumbled. Yawning, he stretched his arms, and without opening his eyes, said, "Hera, where'd you go? I wa-" Jason stopped mid sentence because he realized Hera looked different. In fact, she had evolved! "You evolved!" Jason exclaimed, picking up his pokemon and hugging her. "Awesome! I can't wait to show everyone else, and maybe Wi-" The celebration was cut short as Jason once again remembered where he was and why he was there. A defeated sigh escaped his lips as he put Hera down and began to walk towards the camp, with Hera following.

he walk back to the camp was slow and silent, Jason not uttering a word and Hera being her usual silent self. He had went on this walk to clear his mind assess the situation, yet, all that ended up happening was he fell asleep on a tree being nostalgic, cried, and caught a Seedot. Taking a quick glance back to check on Hera, Jason allowed the tiniest smile to creep up on his face. "At least someone has gotten something done on this little adventure through the forest.", he thought as he returned his attention back to finding the campsite. Hera had evolved! It was quite a miracle, really. Jason knew how Sneasel evolved, by carrying around a razor sharp claw during the night time and battling. Sure, they had gone out at night, but what were the chances of her finding a claw?!
Hera saw it first, well before Jason had even heard the thing chirp. "Naaaaaaa!" The tiny green bird pokemon chirped, scaring Jason and causing him to jump backwards and trip on his feet, landing squarely on his ass. He turned, looking for Hera, but she was already in action. Her speed was still increased from her earlier battle with the Volbeat, and so she swiftly made her way up to the Natu by flash freezing the water and jumping on the ice shards to reach it. Once up there, she surprised it by jumping out of a shadow, swatting it. Terrified, the green thing chirped and disappeared in a flash of white light. Satisfied that the annoyance was taken care of, Hera hopped down from the tree and strode over to Jason, offering a claw to help him up.
Jason had watched the whole thing in awe, amazed at the speed his newly evolved pokemon now possessed. She was amazing! When Hera offered her claw, Jason eyed the sharp tips and smiled at her before saying, "It's ok, really, I'm fine." She shrugged, and waited for him to get up before continuing on their return journey back to camp.

t soon became apparent to the two of them that Jason had no idea where he was going after twenty minutes of walking the pair still had not found the camp. Hera, more annoyed than worried, quickly took the lead, letting her instincts take over. She left claw marks in tree trunks to keep track of where they had been and she realized they were going in circles. After a quick scolding from Hera, Jason allowed her to continue leading and just stuck his hands in his pockets. Hera, however, was not perfect either as she led them not to their base camp, but to the small nest of a sleeping Skitty.
Jason eyed the sleeping Skitty, glanced at Hera who was also staring at the small kitten pokemon, and then returned his attention to it. It was just so.. Cute! The answer as to what they were going to do was obvious, and Hera only needed to receive a nod from Jason to get started. Dashing forward, she attacked the sleeping Skitty from the shadows, terrifying it. "Skeeeeee!" It shrieked, before swinging its tail forward in an attempt to smack Hera, but she jumped backwards out of harm's way, forcing the Skitty to fall on its face from the momentum of the attack. Hera rose a claw up in the air, freezing the water trapped in the air, and hurled the chunks of ice at the fallen pokemon. Each one made contact with the poor Normal type pokemon, and as it struggled to get up, Jason felt a pang of pain in his heart. The Skitty was not done yet, and as she was hit by each chunk of ice, she memorized the way Hera did it and after the last chunk slammed into her, she got up and wagged her tail, the tips glowing light blue before they froze chunks of clear ice. Hera's eyes widened as she saw what was happening, wowed by the Skitty's strategy. She wouldn't let the pokemon get away with it though. As the ice came rushing at her, Hera's claws began to glow, and she slashed through each chunk of ice before finally reaching the Skitty and clawing her too.
The small kitten pokemon's eyes began to falter at the last attack, the poor thing's legs barely able to support itself. Jason knew that was the best time to catch the pokemon, and so he tossed a Luxury Ball at it.

s was the usual, the Luxury Ball released a white light that enveloped the Skitty, and then landed on the ground with a thud, shaking and ticking occasionally, showing the struggle of the small kitten pokemon. It finally let out the signature third ding and and flashed white, signaling the pokemon had been successfully captured. With a nod from Jason, Hera picked the Luxury Ball up and tossed it in between her claws before handing it over to Jason who pocketed it. Jason took a quick glance to his left and noticed the dying flames of what he assumed was their campfire and walked that way with Hera in tow.
Reaching the camp, which was surprisingly close to the Skitty nest, Jason was alarmed to find all of the once sleeping pokemon wide awake, and circling his backpack cautiously. Confused and worried as to what had been going on since he left, Jason whispered, "What's wrong?" Melena didn't reply, but simply kept Elphaba at bay with her wing, the mother in her coming out to protect the weakest member of the team. Diamond, on the other hand, jumped onto the bag and pulled out Jason's PokeNav, which was flashing faintly, and tossed it at Jason. "Fwwwuuugh!" Jason mumbled as he scrambled and caught the PokeNav. "What the hell was that for? I don't see why you were freaking out and had to throw i-" Jason had began, but stopped when he realized that he had one missed call. He immediately put the phone to his ear and hit play, listening ever so carefully to the important message. It was the mysterious man from earlier who was apparently apart of Steinhart, the same group Will is in! Jason continued to listen as it detailed him meeting a member of Steinhart in Lilycove, and that he was to disguise himself so he could get there safely. Then, as much of a surprise it was to receive the voice mail, it ended.
Jason gulped back the lump in the back of his throat and looked at his team, in each of their eyes, and said quietly, "Let's get going."
