t had been a few hours since Jason had received a sudden, and unwelcome, call on his PokeNav from one of his father's associates. They had somehow tracked down his number and apparently knew he was in Rustboro. Their short conversation, most of it on Jason's part, involved him prying information out of the other man, and the other man telling him what he could. With Jason hanging up his PokeNav, furious, he quickly put on his jacket and had head out the door of the hotel he was staying in. Which was how he found himself with his arms crossed over his chest and standing outside of the DevCorp skyscraper.
The man had told Jason that he was to pickup something from the front counter and deliver it to an associate of his in Rustboro, lest the man tell his father of his whereabouts. Jason clenched and unclenched his fist as he entered the building. The threat was enough to have Jason steaming and as he approached the front counter, he noticed the odd looks some of the other people in the waiting lounge were staying. A blond teenager, who looked like a muscle thug, clenching his fast might have looked a little sketchy. He breathed in deeply, calming himself, and finally approached the front desk with a smile on his face. "Hey there." he said to the busty brunette sitting behind the counter. She returned the smile, and said, "Hello. Welcome to Devon Corporations, how can I help you?" Still smiling, Jason said, "Oh, I'm here to pick something up.. A special delivery?" The young woman's eyes squinted, and she curtly nodded and pressed a button on the desk, quietly speaking into the bluetooth PokeNav accessory on her ear. "Go ahead and wait in the lobby, our correspondent will be with you in a minute." Jason smiled at her, gave her a quick wink, and went over to one of the recliners in the lobby and began playing with his PokeNav.

Oh, so much to do, so little time.... and for once, Kurogane really wasn't in the mood to play things fast and loose.
When the bossman had approached him about this particular job, Kurogane had been ecstatic - shiny new toys, a chance to finally get out in public and the opportunity to take his time and do it his way. Or so he had thought - what had been Christmas morning had quickly gone downhill with the revelation that, as of that moment, Team Rocket didn't have what he needed to do the job right. Well, more accurately, to do it the way he wanted - fast, quiet and to the point, maybe a body or two but nothing that would really stand out as anything beyond maybe an office scuffle gone wrong. Unfortunately, the lack of those shiny objects meant doing it the quick and dirty way... namely, storming the building to get what they wanted, because like hell security would just let them slip by without a word.
That being said, though, Kurogane was nothing if not thorough, and his days being groomed to take over the family business definitely paid off, quite literally in this case. While getting into the Devon building would have been problematic in the simplest sense, the fact remained that he had to do a bit of research in advance anyways - learn where in the building his target was. Rule number one of trespassing - know where you were going. Rule number two, though, was know how to get in without pissing off the locals... at least until it was too late for them to do anything about it, anyways, and thankfully both tied into each other here. Building plans were laughably easy to come by if you knew where to look, and photos of the actual interior.... well, there was a reason the bossman gave him the Beeheyem, and after a little bit of palm greasing here and some intimidation there he'd managed to get what he needed on top of even getting the money back, and no one had ever been the wiser. No police reports, no raised alarms, just a sense of deja vu and a few hours that two or three people would be struggling to account for. Long story short, everything he needed to make Devon's own security work for him rather than against him.
Five floors up in one of the Devon skyscraper's storerooms, four people would suddenly flash into existence, each one with an Abra sitting on a shoulder or carried in their arms - Teleport's shortcomings aside, the technique was still an incredibly useful one if you knew how to work around the flaws. Nice thing about a building like this, too, was that it wasn't a prison, and suffered the exact opposite as far as problems went - the place was designed to keep people out, not in, and anyone who might've possibly known about what they were doing would have to deal with Devon Corporation's own private security force and systems before they'd pose any problem. Even better, Kurogane and the Grunts under his command would know they were coming long before they got there.
"Always wondered why gramps got into brokering instead of banks..... anyways, you guys know the drill. Security station's one floor up, nab it first. I'll head on and meet you there when we're ready to go. Avoid people where you can, wipe those you run into." Kurogane said, confident smirk plastered across his face as he tossed the Beeheyem's ball to a Grunt and made his way to the door. Keying the control, the man would calmly stride out into the hallway, the Grunts filing out behind him with the Beeheyem released with a quick, subtle flash of light as the group made their way to a stairwell to begin their climb to the next floor unimpeded. People and elevators these days.....

ason was content with just playing some game on his PokeNav when he looked up to see the brunette girl's eyes grow wide with fear. She then began talking into her bluetooth piece rapidly, desperately trying to get information about something.. Suddenly, she pressed a button on her desk, and spoke into the desk mounted microphone, her voice projecting across the entire building, "ATTENTION, ALL CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES OF DEVON CORPORATIONS, PLEASE EXIT THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL, I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL." Jason watched as she panicked, and began doing something with her computer, while the rest of the people in the lobby began exiting the building in mass hysteria. Pocketing his PokeNav, Jason approached the desk, but not before the girl once again began speaking into the microphone. "ATTENTION, INFILTRATORS, YOU WILL BE EXPELLED." The speakers running throughout the building boasted. Careful not to distract her from what she was doing on her computer, Jason asked, "What's going on? Who infiltrated what? Why are people leaving?" Frantically clicking on her mouse, barely paying attention to what Jason had said, she simply muttered, "Uniformed men.. Sixth floor.. Psychic field breached.." She then pulled out a flashdrive that had been connected to the computer, and shoved it into Jason's hands. "This is what your friend wanted. Take care of it. Do NOT lose this." she said, packing things into her purse. She applied a fresh coat of lipstick, before putting that into the purse as well, and walked to the exit. "Be careful, if you plan on staying around." Was the last thing she said before she left the building.
Jason was confused. He was holding onto some kind of precious USB drive, people were raiding the building a few floors above his head, and now he was alone. He put the piece of technology in his pocket and quickly made his way to the entrance of the stairs. As he was about to enter the staircase, the sound of footsteps hitting stairs echoing down from above, he paused. What was he doing? Could he really handle some kind of group of men with Psychic pokemon.. Well, it was time to find out. Jason entered the stair case, pulling out a few pokeballs, and began climbing the stairs as fast as possible.

And there it was - only a moment after exiting the stairwell and beginning to make his way down the sixth floor hallway the building's intercom system would begin to go off in a frenzied panic, with Kurogane only spotting the source of the problem after glancing up in reaction. A security camera, something that hadn't been there in the building plans or contractor's reports - not something he was particularly fond of, but surprises were often times as pleasant as they were not. Thanks to the evacuation order pretty much no one would be able to identify them after they were done there - the only trace of their presence would be the guards left in the security room and the camera recordings, but solving that was a simple matter. If there was anything Kurogane knew how to do, it was removing evidence, and pulling the tapes was something he had planned on from the beginning - without a Porygon to work with leaving them would've been far too risky even had they managed to evade the cameras, an impossibility with four people in unfamiliar territory. Well, not for long.
Smirk fading into a far less pleased expression, the Rocket agent would continue to lead the way down the first hall before turning down the left fork at the end to walk down a second, pausing only on reaching the door at the far end. Locked, no doubt, but there was a key to every door in existence. Sometimes multiples. Slipping one hand into his pocket, the man simply drew another, second Pokeball before releasing the creature inside - an Ekans, the purple reptile materializing on the floor beside him.
"Door, please." Kurogane said - sweet, simple and to the point, although the good nature of his voice had dropped to something far less enthusiastic. Head rearing up and back, the Poison type would spit out a concentrated spray of acid aimed squarely at the door's handle and lock - only giving the potent substance a few moments to burn through, the Rocket wouldn't wait long before simply taking another step forward, bringing a leg up and planting it into the door with enough force to break the fatigued and corroded metal free of the door frame. What waited inside was arguably the most technologically advanced setup the Rocket had seen a quite a while - state of the art surveillance gear covering most of the building, door lock controls, hotlines to exterior emergency services, hell, had Kurogane not been there to essentially ransack the place he would've been tempted to take his time and learn a few things from the whole setup. Of course that was an idea the two guards inside would've likely objected to, but their thoughts on the matter never would really matter... or exist much longer at that, Ekans using Glare on both of the men as they started to stand up with the motions evolving into rather painful sounding introductions of face to floor. Probably something that should get looked at, but that'd come in due time.
"Alright, you guys know the drill. Wipe 'em and bind 'em." Kurogane said, stepping over the unconscious guards to make his way into the room and recalling the Poison type to its ball - following right behind him, the Rocket Grunts and the Beeheyem, one of the men stopping to prop the fallen Devon employees upright and hold their eyes open long enough for the Psychic Pokemon to complete his assigned task of wiping all knowledge of the Rockets from their minds. The remaining three, however, would immediately move to the monitors and work stations as the Rocket on nanny duty would move to begin binding the wrists and ankles of the guards with multiple, sturdy zip ties.
"Boss, think we've got everything here, just like the building plans said. Camera control, door locks, they've even got a tracker in place using employee key cards to keep track of where everyone is. Far as I can tell we've only got a few guards left scattered through the building, with most of the remaining staff on the ground floor. I don't think they were expecting anyone here this quickly." One Rocket said, eyes tracking over the controls and more than happy with the sudden, unexpected power at her fingertips. Always a good thing - happy employees meant a happy boss, and Kurogane liked nothing better than to be in a good mood.
"Nice, you have fun with that. Lock the doors from the second floor up and freeze the elevators, I want you here and watching the cameras - let us know if anything comes up. Pull the tapes while you're at it, send 'em back to base. We're better off destroying them there than risking someone putting the pieces together from anything we leave here." Kurogane said, his own eyes scanning over the various camera viewpoints and pausing on a number of different screens. A loooot of fancy, shiny toys in the building, and it would be such a shame to leave them all.... his job was frankly mundane in every sense of the word, but after brief consideration the Rocket made a quick amendment to the current plan - even better, one that would make it even more difficult for Devon to figure out what they had really done when it was all over. As the sound of doors locking made themselves known throughout the entire building, effectively sealing the first floor off from the second floor up, Kurogane would take only a brief moment to find his target before speaking again.
"Lancaster, Dumont, see that lab there? Take a trip up a few floors, use Teleport - I want you both to grab that machine and anything attached to it. Teleport it back to base, then get back here." Kurogane said, finally tearing his eyes away from the screen to begin making his way down the hallway as the two Rockets nodded, showed their Abra the screen and floor plan before disappearing in quick flashes of light much as they had arrived. It was going to be a busy, busy next few minutes.
Summary:
Building on lockdown - doors from the second floor up are all locked and controlled by Rocket, preventing anyone from going up past the stairs to the second floor. All Devon employees and visitors left in the building trapped on the first floor, but able to leave the building. Cameras controlled by Team Rocket, tapes pulled to eliminate evidence. Theft of a Fossil Revival machine in progress. Jason is currently trapped in a stairwell with the doors to all floors locked and reinforced against fire and other hazards.

he locks clicked just as Jason reached the door to the second floor. Jason looked at the door with a blank look on his face for a few seconds, and then tried to open it. Locked. "Shit." he said to himself. Perhaps the doors locked automatically? "Or maybe the people ransacking this place are behind it.." Jason said aloud, no one else around to hear it. The woman behind the desk had said they'd been on the sixth floor, so maybe they were going up? Because they definitely weren't going down to face whatever police force had gathered down there.
Climbing up the eight flights wasn't a huge struggle, Jason was an avid visitor of the Gym, so this physical challenge was easily accomplished. There was, however, the issue of his PokeNav ringing when he took a break on one of the platforms that connected the stairs to one another. Looking at the caller ID, which displayed PRIVATE, Jason sighed and put the PokeNav to his ear. A familiar, yet unnamed voice, spoke, "Jason, this is important." Another sigh escaped his lips as he said, "What? I'm sort of busy at the moment." The stranger made some sort of noise that he couldn't make out before saying, "I am aware of your current situation, Royde. The piece of technology you were given is very important, more so that you realize. Its original purpose.. Well, that doesn't matter right now. I want you to exit on the floor you're currently standing on and plug it into a machine you will see locked inside of a laboratory. Once you do that, exit the building as quickly as possible and find safety. Get going." The man hung up and Jason was left standing in the dark, utterly confused. How did this man, a friend of his father, know so much? What was going on? What was the USB drive?! Jason sighed once more, and put his PokeNav away, before approaching the nearest door.
When he tried to open this one, he found it was locked as well. Well, it seemed like there was going to be some property damage on his part.. Jason pulled out a pokeball and pressed the center button, releasing Diamond the Sableye. "Say?" she said, her eyes glowing in the darkness. "Dia, unlock that door." The little demon thing shrieked, and her claws began to glow with an unnatural purple light as they phased through the door, stopping at the lock. She then began to break the mechanics of the lock from the inside, and after a thirty second pause of silence, she pulled her claws out from the door, and looked up to Jason, grinning. Cautious, Jason pushed the door, and it opened! He gave her a thumbs up, in which she returned with her own version. Jason made his way down the hall when he saw a flash of light, followed by two uniformed men. Each of them had an Abra with it. Jason sucked in his breath as he considered his options. It seemed the best thing was to get Diamond to do what she did to the other door once more. Jason pointed at the door and Diamond understood the command, getting to work. Half a minute later, the door slid open, revealing two grunts and two Abras. "Dia, sparkles!" Jason barked, jumping past the two grunts, and running towards the machine. Diamond grinned, her eyes glowing and flashing, before releasing flashes of light that would confuse any who saw it. She kept this up as Jason plugged the USB into the machine, causing it to whir and turn on, creating lots of noise. "Fuck! Diamond, get over here!" Jason exclaimed, pulling out a pokeball and releasing the pokemon it held. Diamond hopped on to a wall and climbed over to Jason, her demonic claws sinking into the walls and allowing her defy gravity. Jasmine sensed the incoming danger and teleported herself, Jason, and Diamond a few floors away. She teleported them to the roof.

Quickly making his way through the halls, it didn't take Kurogane particularly long to reach his goal after leaving the security center behind him - another couple of floors up the stairwell, out into a hall and down another and he found himself right where he needed to be, door already unlocked and waiting. Confident smirk once again having returned to his face, the man wasn't in any rush as he opened the door and stepped into the darkened room. Unlike the hallway behind him, the lighting itself was impressive due to not quantity, but rather the quality - instead of the harsh glare of the fluorescent ceiling fixtures the chamber Kurogane found himself now standing in was lit but hundreds upon thousands of blue, green and red lights, individually weak on their own but enough to provide a cool glow to the space they occupied. A beautiful sight, and the only thing that he regretted was not having the time to dig into the servers himself - once an information broken, always a broker, and there were enough secrets here to make himself a fortune if he had only the time and proper tools.
Moving deeper into the room with a new kick in his step, the Rocket would casually pull out a USB stick as he made his way towards an access terminal towards the far side of the room, entering the login information acquired from a very cooperative IT tech to unlock the access point, the action taking only a moment to be approved by the security station downstairs before the screen lit up and Kurogane found the server room at his fingertips. Not waiting even a moment to savor sweet, sweet success, the device was plugged in the moment the machine was able to accept it, Kurogane stepping back to lean against one of the machines behind him as the storage device and, more importantly what it held, did their job.
Further up several floors, Dumont and Lancaster likewise wouldn't wait as they immediately set to work, their Abra disappearing from their shoulders to touch and teleport out the targeted equipment before popping back to repeat the process a few seconds later - task completed after almost a minute had gone by, the men would both pause as the voice of their team mate back in the security station would make itself known through earpieces both were wearing.
"Head's up, we've got a daredevil - one of the kids from the lobby got up to you, probably through the stairs, I'm looking at him right now and he's got a Sableye working on the door to the lab. Deal with him or not, just get back here."
Glancing over to Dumont who merely shrugged in response, Lancaster would simply look back to the door and debate for several seconds before starting to pull out another Pokeball, Dumont following his action shortly after - not nearly in time to prevent the kid from storming the room, however. Confuse Ray afflicting both Abra the men were holding and momentarily blinding the Grunts in the process, by the time any of the four had managed to recover he had already plugged in his own USB into the machine they hadn't touched - at the time it was simply irrelevant, but now the noise that it was giving off was anything but. Still fighting their way back to normalcy, it would be the fourth Rocket that would step in - Teleporting into the room with his own Abra just as the trainer fled the scene with his own Pokemon, the Rocket would quickly yank the flash drive out of the machine and disappear with it in another flash of light. Several seconds passing by, the final Grunt would finally reappear in the room again, Abra on his shoulder and the strange flash drive in hand.
"Mind if I ask what that was?" Kurogane said, glancing to off to the side that held his own earpiece - more or less separated from the group, his knowledge of what had just happened was largely incomplete, and the man didn't like surprises.
"Just a slight hiccup, boss. Some kid got in the room and plugged a flash drive into one of the machines here, the thing started running and he bolted for it." Dumont said, he and Lancaster finally gaining use of their senses again as their team mate pocketed the recently acquired flash drive.
"And?"
"And nothing. It was dealt with, I've got the drive now and I teleported the machine out before it could do anything - we saw the whole thing from the security station, but we lucked out. It was independent from the rest of the building's systems, all it was plugged into was a power supply and it shut off soon as it was out of the building. We should be able to pick it up when we leave in a bit, and the kid's not going to find it - whatever he was doing with it, no power means no one's tracking it, and I left it near the meet up spot outside of the city." The fourth Grunt responded, moving over to lightly shove Dumont's shoulder before teleporting back to the security station.
"Well, all done here on my end. Did the kid get a good look at your faces?" Kurogane replied, voice taking on a much happier tone as the screen indicated that it was done with the task he had assigned it. Pushing off of the wall, unplugging the device before pocketing it and logging out, the agent would have a veritable bounce in his step as he made his way out into the hall, the reinforced security door locking behind him again.
"Doubt it, he was in and out of there awfully fast. At most he would've needed a few seconds to remember any of their faces, and he was out of there long before that. More focused on the machine than them, anyways." The Rocket in the security station said, pouring over the screens and camera feeds in front of her. No sign of the kid, at any rate - either he had left the building or found a hiding place, but in either case there was always the chance he could return at any moment. Not necessarily anytime soon, or at least not immediately, though - the whole reason they were using Abra was because the species excelled at spamming Teleport, and that had been a Ralts he was carrying.
"Sound peachy, then. How 'bout we have some fun in the meantime? Got a few ideas while I was up here, figure we might as well have a good time while we're here. Two, stay in the security center - I want to know if our little friend comes back. Three, Four, One, find your way to me - I'm going to go take a look see in Devon's financial center, pretty sure that's up on floor fifteen. Seeya there." Kurogane finished, his words met with a number of acknowledgements afterwards. Corporate espionage... such easy money, and the man was suddenly remembering why the family business had been what it was instead of banks like he had mused earlier. Small time, blue collar - it was the corporate sector where the real money was made, and exiting the hall without leaving any trace of his presence Kurogane would begin climbing the stairs upwards again.
Summary:
Jason successfully plugged the USB drive in, but the machine immediately disabled and teleported out of the building, minus its power source - it is now hidden beyond the city boundaries, with Jason's flash drive now in Rocket possession.
Kurogane has finished his business on one floor, moving up to another with three of the Rocket Grunts converging on his position.

is eyes readjusted to the bright light of the outside world, and Jason found himself on the roof of the Devon Corporation skyscraper, hundreds of feet in the air. He turned around to see Diamond running about on the roof, tossing the gravel that littered the floor over the side, and squealing with evil delight as it fell. Jasmine, on the other hand, stared into space, her eyes glowing bright pink with psychic energy. Jason looked at both of them, and pulled out another pokeball. "We might as well get goi-" Jason began, before he was interrupted by his PokeNav. He pulled out the piece of technology, annoyed, and answered it, not even bothering to look at the caller ID. "What happened?" the cold voice of the stranger asked. Jason scoffed and replied, "I plugged the flashdrive into the machine like you asked, and it started making a lot of noise, so I got out of there." A few moments of silence passed until the man said, "... Go back." "What?!" he exclaimed. "You heard me. Get back in there, floor fifteen to be precise. That's where Devon keeps all of its financial records, accounts, and everything and anything related to money. I'm sure you know how to work it, being born to wealth. I'll send a text with the blueprints for your pokemon to see. Teleport in there, find a file labeled 'DETOX'. Activate it and then leave. I'm sure you'll be in and out of there before the goons take notice of you." The man hung up after he delivered his orders. Jason didn't even have a chance to curse his name before his PokeNav dinged, a text with the blueprints of the building showing on the screen of the PokeNav.
"Jasmine, come look at this!" Jason called to his psychic pokemon, snapping her out of whatever trance she was in. She walked to Jason, and inspected the blueprints, paying close attention to wherever Jason pointed. "Now, this is where we're supposed to be going, but right there.." he said, pointing to a room that was highlighted, and then jabbing his finger at a janitor's closet attached to it. ".. is a closet. Those closets never have cameras in them, it's illegal, and a large corporation such as Devon Corps wouldn't dare mess with the law over something so trivial. So, once we get in there, Dia will sneak me and her through the shadows of the room and to the main terminal, where I'll do what the guy asked. Jasmine, you'll stay in the closet, ready to teleport us at a moment's notice, ok?" The two pokemon nodded, and Jasmine's eyes glowed bright pink, before flashing with a blinding light, leaving wisp of smoke in the place the trio had been seconds ago.
They were immediately covered in darkness, surrounded by cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Jason looked around him, hoping this was the correct floor, and nodded to the door for Diamond to do her work. Less time passed than earlier, ten seconds or so, showing she was getting better at picking locks. Jason wasn't entirely sure how he felt about it, but he gave her smile nonetheless, and her part of the plan began. Diamond grabbed Jason's hand, and dived into the shadows, bringing him with her. Seconds later, they reappeared near a computer in the room, alone. Jason grinned and began hitting keys on the keyboard, logging in and then searching for the file. A minute passed, what seemed like eternity, before he found it. DETOX. Jason double clicked the file and watched as the screen filled with binary code, and a flashing window popped open, reading, "DETOX.bat ACTIVATED. HARD DRIVE ERASED. FACTORY RESET - 99%" Oh. So that's what it was doing. Jason waited the next couple of seconds for the screen to flash white, and then go black, the factory reset having been completed. All files and information were now completely erased from the computer. He shrugged, having done his job, and made his way back to the storage closet where Jasmine waited for him and Diamond, a teleport already prepped.

Kurogane had to admit, if there was one thing that he valued above most others it was tenacity - the ability to see something through to the end, and while he would've gladly put the little "hero" out of their misery here and now he was in too good of a mood to upset the plan with one little emotional slip up. So, when Kurogane had managed to make it all the way up to the fourteenth floor only to hear his earpiece light up with sound yet again the man's confidence didn't waver in the slightest. It was time to put an end to this - fun or not, he couldn't have someone running around with knowledge of what they were doing or who they were. Whoever he was, they were clearly getting outside help and direction - they were in too many places too fast, and the fact that he was reaching places ahead of his men despite them being spur of the moment decisions could only mean that they were being watched and listened to. The wonder of codename designations... in either case, the radios they were using were clearly no longer secure, he'd need to find an alternative for future operations or a way to encrypt them.
"Four, please direct One, Two and Three to the problem. I'll be there with them in a few moments, once we're done there we can head back home."
As Jason would finally finish his work at the computer and begin stepping away from it, a camera tucked away in a corner of the room would follow the teenager's every movement - and as he neared the supply closet several things would happen at once. Directly behind Jason two of the Rocket Grunts would teleport into existence, one of them with another Pokemon already out and clinging along for the ride - dropping to the floor as he detached from his trainer, Lancaster's Muk would use Block on Jasmine as he dropped to the floor, spotting the Ralts through Jason's legs and preventing the Pokemon from using Teleport before the blond could reach it. Not even a moment would pass before the second Grunt would release a Pokemon of his own, a Venonat, and yet a third Grunt would teleport into existence beside the first two, releasing a Murkrow of his own to follow up with a Mean Look on his Sableye. Despite Jason unable to Teleport or flee from the room and surrounded by the Rockets with only a supply closet to flee into, a dead end, none of the Rockets would attack, however, simply waiting for the trainer's next move before the sound of a door would be heard opening from the hall, followed by the sound of a slow, simple clap.
"You know, there is a fine, fine line between bravery and stupidity, my friend, but in either case it's always entertaining to watch." Kurogane said, slowly walking into the room as he continued his clap before calmly putting his hands in his pockets and observing the scene. Three Pokemon out, more than the kid could hope to nail with another Confuse Ray, and with any luck that'd be enough to stop him from doing something stupid. Or at least Kurogane was hoping so - frankly speaking he'd meant what he said, and the "hero" mentality was so often found overlapping with impulsive decisions and what could only be described as a marked lack of intelligence that he wasn't really willing to place a bet on the blond just shutting up and staying put.
"Anyways, I'm going to make this short, sweet and to the point. You can't run - that was a neat trick back in the lab, don't get me wrong - and we outnumber you by at least two to one. I've got two hostages, and frankly speaking I could end your story right here and now if I wanted to. Wouldn't be clean or pretty, but wouldn't you know it, today's your lucky day!" Kurogane said, casually making his way across the room to the terminal that the kid had been working with. Factory reset? Oh, you poor, poor, misinformed amateur... taking a moment to crouch down, Kurogane simply pulled the power plug on that particular machine, shutting it off, and then would proceed to pop the side panel loose, disconnect the hard drive and remove it from the machine before handing it to his Abra, the creature flashing out while holding the part before almost immediately returning as Kurogane stood upright and began moving to repeat the process with the machines in the room that Jason hadn't yet touched - all with untouched hard drives, full to the brim with sensitive information. As for the wiped one.... well, a minor setback, but there were plenty of ways to recover data with enough time and patience, and short of taking a magnet straight to the hard drive itself there was no surefire way to delete everything.
"Frankly speaking, I don't want to kill you. Hell, I don't even want to hurt you - maybe on a different day, but right now I frankly just don't want to deal with the mess. So, we can do this one of two ways." Kurogane continued, moving from machine to machine before reaching the last one and finally standing up, moving to stand directly behind his Grunts, hands in his pockets as he spoke to the lone trainer.
"First way's the ugly way - we deal with you, then kill off the hostages just to prove a point, everything makes the papers for one big sob story and no one comes out of this happy. My way, though, is probably the much better one. You hand us your Pokeballs - and I assure you, you will get them back, I'm not into that blue collar, stealing Pokemon stuff - let us bind you up and out of the way with the other guards we have and everyone leaves safe and sound. We've already gotten what we want, and you're the only loose end left - what I'm offering is a way out where no one gets hurt, and the choice is yours. Ugly mess, or everyone ends up happy?"

O
ne second they were alone, the next, they weren't. In a flash of light, two uniformed men appeared one with a Muk hanging from his leg which immediately fell to the floor and launched a beam of light at Jasmine. The other would release a Venonat, and then another one appeared who released a Murkrow that would give Diamond a mean look. Jason was in shock because everything happened so quickly. These three men had him surrounded, and telling from the look Jasmine gave him, she was stuck. Diamond seemed completely unphased by the Murkrow and was just sitting there. Jason looked to the three men and was about to start giving orders when he heard a clap from behind the men.
In walked a man, clapping, and he stopped just behind the three men. "You know, there is a fine, fine line between bravery and stupidity, my friend, but in either case it's always entertaining to watch." He said, watching the situation closely. As he walked across the room to the terminal Jason had just been at, not a care in the world, he said, "Anyways, I'm going to make this short, sweet and to the point. You can't run - that was a neat trick back in the lab, don't get me wrong - and we outnumber you by at least two to one. I've got two hostages, and frankly speaking I could end your story right here and now if I wanted to. Wouldn't be clean or pretty, but wouldn't you know it, today's your lucky day!" The man then unplugged the machine, took the hard drive out, and tossed it to a nearby Abra who teleported out in a flash of light before returning a few seconds later. He repeated the process with all the other machines, saying as he did, "Frankly speaking, I don't want to kill you. Hell, I don't even want to hurt you - maybe on a different day, but right now I frankly just don't want to deal with the mess. So, we can do this one of two ways." Just as he finished, he made his way back behind the other men, hands in pocket. Completely uninterested in the scene, he added, "First way's the ugly way - we deal with you, then kill off the hostages just to prove a point, everything makes the papers for one big sob story and no one comes out of this happy.
Hostages. The man had hostages and he was willing to kill them.. Jason wasn't stupid though. This could all be a bluff, to force him to give up his pokemon. Hell, years ago a criminal team had done just that to this very company, trying to force people to give up their pokemon in order to awaken the legendary beast of the earth and sea. Perhaps this was what was going on.. He looked up to the man, and then to the pokemon surrounding him, and sighed. There wasn't much he could do. As he was about to give up, he noticed a spark in Diamond's eyes. One that gave him hope. He would come up with a plan to get out of there. Sending thoughts of anger to Jasmine about the Venonat, hoping she understood, and the nodded to Diamond. All three of them bursting into action simultaneously. Jason jumped backwards, towards Jasmine and out of the reach of the men, while Diamond dived into the shadows, materializing next to Jasmine as well, his claws glowing. Jasmine blasted the Venonat with a Psychic force, strong enough to hurl it into the four men. Jason pulled out two pokeballs and released Elphaba, the Natu. At the same time, Diamond slashed Jasmine with his glowing claws twice, knocking her out instantly. Jason then used the second ball to return Jasmine, since the effect of the odd ray had canceled when she was knocked out. Grabbing onto Diamond, Jason poked Elphaba, who teleported them out in a blinding flash of light.
Once again, they were on the roof of the building, but Jason was already in action. He put Elphaba in his pocket where she could see, and released another pokemon; Melena the Altaria. Jason hopped onto her back, with Elphaba in his pocket and Diamond clinging to his back. "Pokemon Center, NOW." She chirped, sensing the emergency, and flies towards the Pokemon Center, landing there with light thud. Jason dashed into the Center, finding the nearest Nurse Joy, and told her what was going on. She nodded, understanding, and called the police.
Jasmine used Psychic on Venonat while Diamond used Shadow Sneak to get to Jasmine and then used Shadow Claw to knock her out, ending the effect of block. Jason then had Elphaba teleport them to the roof and flew on Melena to the pokemon center. Police are now on their way to the Devon Corp building

And of course, as expected, stupidity and impulse would prevail over logic and reason - Kurogane would give the kid points for quick thinking, though, but as he knocked out his own Pokemon and released another to teleport away the man would simply raise a hand, signaling the Grunts under his command to let Royde go. There was always more than one way to do things, and while it might've been another spur of the moment decision there were still a few methods to turn this whole thing around and in their favor. Holding up one finger to the three Grunts in the room as one recalled his injured Venonat, the man would suddenly disappear before flashing back into existence in the security center behind the female Grunt at the work station.
"So, Four - quick scavenger hunt. Our little friend showing up on any of the cameras at the moment?" Kurogane asked, moving over to the bound guards from before and casually yanking them from the wall by their collars to drag them back to stand beside his subordinate.
"No, n- wait, there he is. A few cameras facing the east windows on the twentieth floor have him, he's Flying out on an Altaria."
"You said he came up from the lobby, no? Check those tapes, see if he spoke with anyone before he started his crusade and pull up their employee records. Leave those tapes in as well as all of the tapes catching him on his flight out - if possible, also the footage of him teleporting into the financial center, but erase the footage after he starts messing with the computer, corrupt the audio on the lobby footage if you can pull it off." Kurogane said, mentally checking off what needed to be done in his head. Originally he had been planning to leave the building with no fatalities and no one to blame save for a nameless, faceless group of invaders, but this.... this was too good to pass up, and even better was that it would leave the police looking for a patsy instead of trying to figure out who had pulled the perceived heist - why look when you already knew who did it? And oh, the wonders of digital recording - had they been using actual, physical tools like VHS tapes to record their security logs like they had been a few years back this wouldn't have been at all possible. Recalling the Beeheyem from the room, Kurogane would then teleport back up to the roof with both guards in tow as the Grunt in the security center set to work. Leaving them there, the man would then quickly return to the financial floor by the same method.
"Three, that Venonat if you wouldn't mind?" Kurogane quipped, the Grunt briefly pausing to glance to Dumont and Lancaster before unclipping the ball from his belt and tossing it to Kurogane, the man catching it before quickly offering a mock salute as Abra would teleport him right back up to the roof. Clicking the button on the ball, the man would release the Bug type onto the roof, the Pokemon barely managing to keep itself upright after taking the earlier Psychic attack.
"Don't worry, not much to do until relaxation and rewards await you. Psychic, guard number two." Kurogane said, releasing the Beeheyem to float beside him as the Venonat did as instructed - using Psychic, the crushing blast of telekinetic force would make quick work of the unconscious man, crushing his spine, neck and ribs for what would be a mercifully quick death. As the Bug type did its work, however, Kurogane would pull the first guard up to slap him awake, the Beeheyem following its standing orders to memory wipe anyone who saw him.
"Wait a moment, job's not done yet. You saw our impressionable friend through those cameras - we're doing a little more than just wiping, we're tweaking. Take a moment and plant a few memories painting the trainer as the one responsible for this mess - breaking into the security center, and the unfortunate fate of his friend up here. Use the Ralts, it apparently knows the same move and we want details to match." Kurogane said, propping the guard up and moving off to the side as the Beeheyem approached the man and set to work, staring the guard in the eyes as the lights on the Pokemon's head flashed in seemingly random patterns, rewriting the victim's memory to match what it had been told. All in a day's work, and as soon as the Psychic type seemed to be done, backing away from the guard and waving over to Kurogane the man would recall both it and the Venonat before teleporting down to the financial center yet again, Wilhelm blinking in confusion and catching the Bug's Pokeball as it was tossed back to him. Not waiting there any longer, Kurogane would simply point down before teleporting again and back to the security center. Patting the Abra on his shoulder for being able to keep up with his demands, Kurogane made a mental note to give the thing a bit of preferential treatment when they got back - a job well done should be rewarded, after all, as at the very least it'd encourage it from everyone else as well. Once again, happy employees meant happy employers.
"So, got anything yet?" Kurogane said, stepping up and behind the Grunt on security duty once more - having gotten used to the flashes of light, the woman wasn't even fazed anymore by the sudden arrivals and departures.
"Done with all the security logs, and I've taken a look at the lobby footage. The trainer only spoke to one person before he came up, a receptionist by the name of Katherine Palmer. I've got her address up here."
"Nicely done. The other three should be along in a moment, finish cleaning up here and then head to the rendezvous point. Three will point you guys to a little pick up he acquired during our time here, and I'll be there in a few minutes."
Clapping a hand down onto her shoulder as he spoke before stepping away, Kurogane would gesture upwards once more before teleporting yet again. Quickly making his way across the windswept top of the building but careful to keep away from the edge, Kurogane would take a moment to identify the street on which the address was located before pointing it out to his Pokemon, and with yet another quick flash of light the man would find himself standing in an alley off from the sidewalk. Stepping out onto the street without missing a beat, the black clad man would quickly begin counting house numbers as he made his way along before changing direction to head the correct way - less than half a block later, locating the residence he was looking for.
Turning off from the sidewalk to make his way up the short, stone steps, Kurogane would simply gesture to the Abra on his shoulder, hand by the door, and with a quick use of Telekinesis the door's deadbolt would be heard clicking open, just as naturally as if the man had a key to the place. Reaching for the doorknob to open and step through the duplex's entrance, Kurogane's smile would grow even wider as he saw the woman he was looking for in the hallway, a glass vase in hand - likely she had heard the lock open and had gone to see who it was, picking up the improvised weapon with the intent to fight off a would be burglar.
"No need for that, and I apologize for the home intrusion. You and I, though, we have things to talk about, and I'd rather do it elsewhere." Kurogane said, his Abra using Telekinesis again to lift the startled woman from the floor as Kurogane calmly released the Beeheyem again, another, more subdued flash of light rendering the woman more confused and hesitant than afraid as the last several seconds were wiped from her mind. Recalling the Beeheyem and stepping forward to place a hand on her shoulder, both would disappear as Kurogane's Abra used Teleport one final time.
Summary:
All footage with Jason inside of the Devon building left behind, with the audio wiped from the lobby security logs. All footage with Rockets on it transferred to separate hard drives with those physically removed and taken to be properly destroyed elsewhere.
One guard killed with Psychic and left on the roof where Jason had fled from, the second guard's mind wiped and rewritten to remember Jason killing his partner with Ralts and Psychic. All memory of the Rockets removed.
Rockets have all left the Devon building with Teleport, removing the security center's door and the only physical evidence of their time there. Security logs modified - the alert and building lockdown times changed to after Jason reached the upper floors.
The receptionist Jason had spoken with in the lobby abducted from her home, no evidence of breaking and entering. To be returned later with memory of Jason threatening her for the USB drive, painting him as the building's infiltrator and thief.
Case built against Jason Royde to frame him for the operation - all evidence either erased or made to point to him, with all possible alibis removed or turned against him. Fossil Revival machine stolen as well as accompanying equipment, financial and stock records stolen, mystery machine and USB drive acquired. Operation complete.

T
he nurse was quick to get care for Jasmine. Jason just handed her the pokeball and she went to work. As she did that, Jason turned on the local news channel to see if the media had received any information over the raid. When the channel finally got back from the commercial break, Jason was very surprised by what he saw. There he was, flying off of Melena, with the words, "DANGEROUS TEENAGER LAST SEEN FLYING OFF ON AN ALTARIA. KILLED ONE GUARD WITH POKEMON. DO NOT APPROACH." scrolling across the bottom of the screen. How.. What.. Jason looked around, grateful none of the other people sitting in the lobby had bothered to look at the television screen. He quickly got up and went to the Nurse Joy who was behind the counter. "Uh, excuse me, Nurse?" Jason asked, the nerves beginning to get to him. She looked up from the her healing machine, and smiled at Jason warmly, and said, "Yes, dear?" "Thank Arceus, she must not know.", he thought. Returning the smile, Jason asked, "Could I have my Ralts back? I need to get going." The Nurse nodded, turned around to press some buttons on the healing machine, and returned with a pokeball in hand and said, "She recovered well enough, but her left arm might have a scar from the attack." Jason took the pokeball and thanked the Nurse. He made for the exit when two police officers came in and began questioning some of the trainers who were lounging on the couch. Jason cursed under his breath and quickly left the Pokemon Center to see an officer tying a leash around Melena and trying to force her towards a Pokemon Control van. "Ara!" she screeched when she saw Jason. Jason pulled out Diamond's pokeball and released her, pointing at the leash on Melena's neck, ordering, "Break it and then confuse the officer." Diamond giggled and dived into Jason's shadow before reappearing in the officer's shadow. Her claws began to glow a dark purple before she clawed at the leash, ripping it in half. Before the officer got a chance to produce his own pokemon, Diamond released a flash of multicolored lights, confusing him. Jason whistled, signaling for Diamond and Melena to come. Both of them did so and Jason hopped on Melena's back, and she took off, towards the Fortree Forest.
Jason couldn't help but cry a little bit as they flew over the land. He was being framed for killing someone, stealing money, and kidnapping someone. As he cried into the fluff that was Melena, his PokeNav began ringing. Sniffing, he answered, "H-h-hello?" "... What happened?!" The cold voice of the stranger asked. Wiping his nose, Jason replied, "I activated the file, and it wiped the drive, but some man said it wasn't a big deal.. I escaped, but.. He framed me!" ". . ." Silence. Minutes of it, before the man spoke up again, "Stay hidden. I'll be making some calls to get this thing out of the eyes of the public. Your name never got out there and it never will. Ok?" Sniffling, Jason hung up, trusting the man was going to take care of it.
When they finally arrived to the forest, Jason pulled out a tent and began working on it. When he finished, Melena was already perched on a tree, Diamond was playing with the fire, and Jason was cooking a Magikarp over the fire. He didn't know what to do.. Then it hit him. He'd text the one person he felt safe around, William Rosenbach.
