DJ took a bite out of his crepe and smiled. He had never been to the Kalos region before and as such didn't know much about it but they sure did have the best food he'd ever had. He was here on business of course, taking pictures of the beautiful Kalos landscape and their rare and unique pokemon. His camera hung heavy around his neck and his bags with lenses and such were strapped to either side of him. He had already gotten some beautiful shots, however even though he was here for work he didn't see anything wrong with taking in the sights and culture a bit. Some may have seen it as touristy but he liked to think of it as being multicultural.
He licked up some more of the cream from his treat and smiled, looking around at the fabulous architecture. They didn't have things like this in the Sevii Islands where most of the houses were small and tropical. That being said he had been to many other regions since leaving home and he could safely say that none of them had cities like Lumiose either. He fervently believed this place was the largest city in the world.
He wasn't the kind to just snap pictures of everything like some tourist though, things had to be carefully scouted out to bring out the maximum beauty of the subject. He may have loved taking pictures but he was no amateur, proper photograph required some setup or at the very least some planning. He smiled and raised his camera, looking down the alleyway and catching a good, symetrical view of the lane leading up to Prism Tower just as the sun was beginning to set and the tower itself was beginning to light up. He snapped the picture with a smile, listening to the satisfying sound of the shutter closing. "This city is amazing." He said to himself and chuckled softly.

Izumi was busy walking around Lumiose, trying to kill some time before nightfall. She knew that she had a part-time job to go to the next day, but there was no way in hell she was going to be staying at an overpriced hotel just for one evening—were there no cheaper alternatives available in this posh and grand city?! She sighed, before digging into her pocket and coming up with enough cash for possibly one snack to sustain her until the next day. You’ve been through a lot. Don’t let something this simple as hunger take you down and out. It’s too… trivial, she thought as she passed by a food stand that was selling crepes. The scent was more than enough to set her stomach rumbling; so instead of saving up her money for the night, she decided to at least get something to eat before she fell over out of hunger.
She then pushed her way through the crowd and saw that there were several other people making their purchases, so she thought it wise to wait for them all to clear out, before approaching the actual cart itself. The salesman looked pretty haggard; partly because due to the swarm of people that was purchasing the crepes form his stall. As she made her way over, he caught sight of her, and said, “Well miss you’re all out of luck. That fellow over there bought my last one,” he said, inclining his head towards a young man who had a very heavy-looking camera slung over his neck. “W-what? But I thought you still had some…?” she asked, not believing the display that was in front of her.
“Well I’m sorry miss, but these have already been reserved by the people who work in that building…” he said with an irritable tone, pointing over to the building behind her—where a huge swarm of office workers was emerging. “Try again tomorrow,” he ended with a huff, before carting away to cater to the crowd that was approaching.
“Urgh… just my luck…” she said, slumping down on to the sidewalk and looking at the pavement—and at that moment her stomach gave another huge rumble.
DJ sighed softly as he finished up his picture and his treat, a white flash leading to his shoulder as his Snivy Justine popped out of her pokeball for a little bit of a stretch. He sighed softly and shook his head. "Please warn me when you do that... it scares me when you just pop out like that." The Snivy merely huffed and averted her gaze, giving him a light vine whip to the head. as she looked around and hopped down into the streets. "Don't get lost now, this place is really big." He chuckled softly as he watched the creature poke her head down the alleyways before coming back to his feet.
He adjusted his pack on his back and his camera bags on his sides before glancing around, trying to decide what would be a good next move for him and his pokemon. "Well, what should we see next?" he bent down and asked the Snivy, who merely gave a shrug of her shoulders and turned up her head. He was rather puzzled at where to go next, the city was so big that he was somewhat at a loss for words about what to do since there was so much.
Just as he was debating he heard a bit of commotion by the stand where he had bought his crepe and turned his head to see a young woman somewhat miffed about the stand being somewhat out of stock. He looked down to the empty wrapper where his crepe used to be and felt a bit guilty as he noticed the woman sit down, looking rather depressed and hungry. He bent down where the woman was, blinking softly. "A-Are you okay miss?" Even in situations like this he always was a bit nervous talking to girls.
He opened the side pouch on his backpack and pulled out a few Lumiose Galletes still wrapped in their packaging. "If you're hungry I have a few of these from before. The shop that sells them only has a sale every few hours since it's really popular so I made sure to stock up." He smiled softly and handed the crispy cakes to her gently. "Can't let a pretty girl go hungry." He gave a sheepish smile and a friendly nod as his Snivy came up by his side and nodded softly, crossing her arms with an upturned chin.

Try not to think too much of the food, try not to think too much of the food… she thought as she heard her stomach gave another defiant rumble—and then a voice shattered her thoughts, asking if she was alright. She was sorely tempted to snap back and give him a piece of her mind, but due to the hunger that had overtaken her, she decided not to anyway—and just looked up at him. “Well, with that crappy crepe vendor ‘reserving’ all his stock for that crowd there,” she trailed off, gesturing to the rather large crowd of people milling around ad getting their choice orders, “…who wouldn’t be upset for not getting the last ‘available’ piece?” she said, hanging her head and then running her hands through her hair—today was just about overall frustrating.
She was already bracing herself to spend the night out on the cold city streets when her ‘companion’ reached into his backpack and pulled out something wrapped in paper—the smell was more than enough to make her take a few whiffs; if it was possible to get full just by inhaling that sweet scent, shed have done so already. “A-are you sure you don’t mind…?” she asked him, looking at the extended offering that was being given to her—and she caught sight of the Snivy that was on his tail, also nodding in her direction. What one would consider weird was that at this point, one of her six Pokeballs also clattered to the pavement, and its occupant appeared in a flash of red light—and she blinked and saw that it was her Quilava, Arashi, who had come out due to the scrumptious smell that she was currently breathing in.
“Hey, Ara,” she began, taking the offered gift with a hastily muttered, “Thanks,” and then peeling the paper apart to reveal a piece of bread that was topped with what looked like melted butter and a generous serving of sugar, “…do you want some?” she asked, and the Quilava gave her a nudge, before she gave in and tore off a piece and fed it to her hungry companion. “Haha, sorry about that,” she said, looking up at the guy with the camera, “…looks to me that it wasn’t just me who’s hungry, this little one is too,” she said with a grin, before taking a bite out of the flavored bread that really did smell sweet. “Thank you,” she said more properly this time, bowing her head in his direction.
DJ smiled softly and nodded a bit, looking the woman over as he sat beside her gently. "Of course not. Nothing wrong with sharing with someone in need." He grinned and chuckled softly. If he saw someone hungry and in need he couldn't just leave them be. Even if his ability to help people was minimal he had to try wherever he could. He handed the galletes off to her with a smile, it was the least he could do honestly. It would take a heartless person not to help someone that seemed so hungry, that's what he thought anyway.
He glanced at the crepe vendor as she mentioned it. He hadn't known about the reservations but he had ordered the last one, so this might have perhaps partially been his fault as well. "Wow, sorry about that, didn't know they were so close to running out." He rubbed the back of his head nervously. He was the kind of person who didn't like to take the last of anything to keep from depriving someone else of it. He watched as her Quilava popped out and he blinked lightly, smiling at the small creature. It looked hungry too so of course he didn't mind when she began sharing with the pokemon.
"Don't worry about it, if you're hungry you're hungry, not much you can do about it. Just eat up." He smiled softly and nodded to her. "Any time, it's no problem." He watched the human and pokemon eat from the cakes with a smile before nodding softly. "So what brings you guys all the way to Lumiose without any food?" He asked. Lumiose City was quite the tourist trap and it was hard to get by in the area sometimes unless you had a plan or resources he had come to realize.

Now that she (as well as Arashi) was silently dining on the Gallette—never mind if it was slightly sweeter than how she preferred it, but she needed the sugar—she then looked up, since he was asking her a question. It was a fine question to answer, really, so after swallowing a bite, she then said, “Well, I just came from a part-time job in the Stone Emporium, but apparently they don’t pay up in terms of money. They paid in terms of information, something which I am thankful for but at the same time, quite peeved at for…’cause they gave me incomplete details,” she said, taking another bite out of the Gallette and savoring the flavor. She then saw that Arashi, her Quilava, was now looking at her expectantly-and then she deferred. “Oh alright, here,” she said with a chuckle, before tearing off another piece and having the Quilava eat from her hand.
“They told me something about these… Mega Stones, but… otherwise that’s it, nothing further—he wasn’t a very patient man to talk to,” she said, sighing—at least she had some sort of information to go on with. Now the problem was connecting it to something else that she needed to find—and that certainly was not in Lumiose. “How about you, what brings you here to Lumiose?” she asked, deciding to turn the same question back to him as well—because with that camera slung around him, he either had to be some famous hot-shot guy working under wraps, or maybe he was just a guy who was out on a vacation, taking pictures of popular tourist destinations.
DJ smiled softly as he looked over the girl and her pokemon. He didn't want to be proud or anything but it was a bit heartwarming to see the immediate effects of his charity, but he tried not to dwell on it too much. He simply enjoyed the sight of the girl and her pokemon and listened to the tale of what brought them here to what was likely the biggest city in the world. He had seen the stone emporium on his tour around the city earlier, however when he had gone there the only thing he had seen on sale were ordinary evolution stones.
However apparently this girl was privy to some otherwise unkown information. "Mega stones? Like the kind of stones they talk about being only here in Kalos?" He'd never heard that name before but he had heard of some strange archeological discoveries unique to Kalos, stones included. In fact he had found an odd stone himself in the badlands north of the city. He held up the keystone with a soft blink. "I found this north of here but I'm not sure what it does." He shrugged.
"Hope you got some good information then if they didn't pay you or even feed you." He chuckled softly and shook his head. When it came his time to explain his motives he shrugged softly. "I'm a professional photographer, I came to Kalos since they say the scenery's beautiful and the pokemon are unique. I want to try and see if I can get some nice pictures to sell to the magazines to encourage more people to travel these beautiful regions." He smiled and nodded. "I'm DJ by the way, DJ Mcloud. Sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner." He grinned and extended a hand towards the girl in a friendly gesture.

Looking up at his words, she was caught by surprise. “Wa—wait a second, what? You said something about Mega Stones; that’s what he was talking about. Apparently they’re certain stones that can be used in order to be able to…do something. That’s as much information as I got out of the guy,” she said with a sigh, as she tore off another piece of the Galette and fed the Quilava, that was now nuzzling her boot quite affectionately—it wanted more of the sweet treat that his mistress was eating. “Wow, that’s really shiny,” she said with a grin on her face, looking at it and studying the intricate details that the odd rock he had represented. After a while, she gave him a sheepish chuckle, and said, “Well… at least I was able to get something out of him, even if there was no actual payment. Information sometimes is the best thing to receive—maybe you’ll learn more about these so-called ‘Mega Stones’ if you go check out the Emporium,” she said with a nod—and then he introduced himself.
“Nice to finally put a name to the face, DJ, you can call me Izumi. I’m a long way from home—I hail from Hoenn—but here I am in Kalos, looking for something more worthwhile…and hunting ‘mons, much like you hunt pictures,” she continued, looking at his camera and realizing that it looked more high-end than she initially thought it would be. “You found any interesting places and pictures so far?” she asked after a few moments of silence, munching her way through the Galette—which was now down to about half, since she wasn’t the only one eating from it.
DJ shrugged softly. "I don't have any more information on them than you. I didn't even know what they were called until you said something. The only reason I even said the words Mega Stones was because I heard you mumbling it." He said, referring to her earlier explanation. It seemed as if there was some sort of barrier of information surrounding these stones in addition to how hard they were to find. He sighed softly, wondering if he'd ever be able to get a straight answer on what these stones were and what kind of power they held since no one else seemed to know and the few sources of information known seemed well-guarded.
He put his key stone away and sighed softly, nodding a bit. "Thanks, the emporium might help a bit but if they can't tell you how they work they certainly won't be able to tell me." He shrugged softly. Knowing about the stones and their history and properties was nice but he could study other people and learn that much, he wanted to be able to learn how to USE them. He looked up at her as she introduced herself and nodded lightly. It was always nice to meet new people every now and then.
"Nice to meet you too Izumi." He grinned."I'm from the Sevii Islands but I travel all over for good pictures. It's not uncommon for people to travel the regions looking for pokemon. I'll admit I'm on the lookout for some unique Kalos pokemon as well." He smirked softly, nodding a bit. "Of course, Kalos has some beautiful scenery and buildings. Even just all the lights in Lumiose have made for some great pictures. I haven't found many pokemon to take pictures of yet but just every bit of the region is gorgeous." He smirked softly and shrugged.

She heard that he was also looking for information on Mega Stones, and an idea suddenly popped into her mind. “I… I actually have an idea. Why don’t you and I team up,” she began, reaching into her pocket and then quickly taking out one of her ‘calling cards’ that she still had on her (the one listing her services as a Pokemon Catcher for Hire) and then flipping it over and fishing out a pen from her inside jacket pocket, while writing something down as well, and then continued, “…and look for more information? Since you already have that weird-looking thing you showed me earlier, and I found out what Mega stones are… why don’t we throw our resources together, give one another a shout if ever one of us finds out about something interesting?” she ended before handing him the calling card with her mobile number on it. “Two heads working on something is definitely better than one…” she added, hoping that he’d agree to her idea.
When he’d mentioned the Sevii Islands, she looked up at him once again. “I’ve been there some time ago; I went on a treasure hunt of sorts on the island. I actually found this weird message in a bottle but I have yet to figure out what the heck it’s supposed to say…” she continued, suddenly remembering that weird bottle she’d found on that dig. “I really hope you find some Kalos-region ‘mons as well; I’ve been searching for some of them too and the only one I’m pretty sure of that I’m not familiar with is this little floating-flower creature that I managed to catch recently,” she said, referring to Flabebe (or whatever it was called) by description, since she didn’t know its proper name at all. “I heard there’s this huge palace near Camphrier that’s worth taking a look at, if you want to get more pictures of the local scenery around the area,” she continued; knowing that there was a possible exchange of information going on here as well.
DJ blinked softly as Izumi proposed her idea, shrugging lightly, a bit surprised. The idea of teaming up to discover information about the stones hadn't occurred to him but with how secretive the people who knew seemed to be, it was worth a shot to double their efforts. He looked at her card for a moment before hesitantly taking it. He didn't know too many people that had calling cards but those he did he knew they did so for good reason. He looked over the card, seeing her original professional title and her contact information on it, nodding softly. It couldn't hurt to give it a shot at least.
"Sure, I'll let you know if I find anything." He smiled softly. "We should at least have better luck than alone." He turned his attention to her address of the Sevii Islands and nodded softly. "Yeah the place is pretty good for tourism and events like that. I used to run area for souvenir pictures in my family's hot spring, which is hot I got into photography." He held up his camera and smirked. "I'm sure we'll both find some interesting Kalos pokemon soon, it's only a matter of time. They can't hide forever." He chuckled softly.
He wasn't sure what kind of new pokemon she was describing, must have been some pokemon native to Kalos that he had never seen. He shrugged softly and dismissed it, moving onto her next bit of information. "A palace huh? Sounds interesting if there's some information there. Either way with how the architecture is in this region I'm sure a palace would be magnificent to take pictures of, nevertheless what's inside." He smirked and nodded softly, looking the girl over. "Thanks for the info~ Maybe we'll be able to find something if we keep looking around." He shrugged and nodded. "Is that palace where you're headed next?" He asked with a questioning look.

She was secretly glad that he’d agreed to teaming up in order to be able to find more information; because let’s be honest with each other—teaming up with another individual and working together with a common goal was far better than going through something alone, without anyone to turn to. She then grinned and then nodded at his proclamation of being able to find some ‘mons native to the Kalos region, and sniggered. “Well I hope they better show themselves, I keep on running into creatures from all the known existing regions to date and it’s kinda frustrating, to be honest,” she said, feeding the Quilava some more of the remaining Gallette she had in her hands, and taking a bite out of it too. Once she’d told him about the Parfum Palace, he then asked if she was headed there—but thanks to him showing her that little shining stone, she had decided to make a different plan.
“Well, I’m headed out to wherever you’ve gotten that shiny, sparkly stone… and then I’ll take a shot at looking for something similar to that. You never know if my luck would turn my way… that’s saying something because my luck is just the absolute worst,” she said with a chuckle, finishing off the Gallette and recalling her Quilava back into his PokeBall. She then stood up, dusting off her rear and then looking off into the distance, far to the north of Lumiose. “The guy at the store told me where they could find those Mega Stones and all, but nothing further than that. Otherwise, I’m off to see if I can find anything. Thanks for the food, by the way,” she said with a bow in his direction; before taking a few steps. “I’ll keep in touch with you, okay? I have to go on the ‘hunt’ now,” she added with a chuckle, before bowing once again in his direction.
