Since her traveling was taking her all over the place, she decided to hop to the newly-discovered region, which was named Kalos, and hoped that she would not be disappointed. To say the least, Izumi’s expectations were met…somehow. She now found herself wandering around the gigantic, circular Lumiose Ciy, trying to look for the store that was looking for part-time helpers. Besides, I need to make some extra cash on the side as well; come on I can’t just keep surviving out in the wild… to be honest I want to see the city’s natural ‘aura’ up close and personal… she thought to herself as she stopped a local over and asked for some directions. She was offered to take a taxi, but knew that this was one of the so-called ‘tourist traps’ that existed… “…and there is no way in hell I’m paying over three thousand for a single taxi ride, thanks very much,” she said to herself as she left the stranger in a huff; after haggling with them to get directions to go to the Stone Emporium.
After taking a few more wrong turns, she finally found herself at Vernal Avenue—and was secretly thankful of the signs hanging outside each shop. She was able to get to the Stone Emporium relatively quickly, and then located the back entrance—but before she could get to asking questions as to if she needed to wear a uniform or something, she heard rumbling coming from the other side of the door, and a few moments later very nearly got ran over by a truck that suddenly materialized, backing into sad alleyway. “Go get the shipment of the elemental stones! After you get that, set them up for display in the store. Use your best judgment to display what goes where. And be careful. If you drop any single one of those you’re paying for it dearly,” she heard a burly voice address her way; before a pair of heavy work gloves went sailing out of the back door, almost hitting her square in the face.
Well crap, no time to breathe. Alright, keep your underwear on… she thought as she slipped the gloves on and shuffled towards the open back of the truck and picked up the crate inside that was labeled ‘New Shipment’ and then hefted it out as slowly as she could—because whatever was inside, it was real heavy and she was not going to risk dropping it on her foot! Patience, patience... patience is a freaking virtue… she thought as she laboriously pulled the crate out of the back of the truck—and was now faced with another problem: how was she going to carry it from the truck to the back portion of the store? She then stopped and surveyed the options that were available to her; before getting an idea…
{Mission Details}Title: Rock Polish Catching: No Members: 1-3 Rewards: •Mega Stone knowledge.
Description: The Stone Emporium is in need of some part time help. They need someone to help carry in a new crate of elemental stones and add them to the display of the store, as well as serve as a clerk for the afternoon. Some of the stones might seem a tad odd, but you won't be able to ask the owner about them until the work day ends. If you do a good job, maybe he'll tell you.
Notes: Successful mission results in knowing what a Mega Stone is; potentially knowledge of Key Stone. No information on how to use said items.

After thinking it over, she finally figured out how to be able to move the crate out of the back of the truck—and it was all too soon, because the guy who was apparently driving said truck started yelling in some unintelligible language! “Sheesh, alright already,” she said audibly while managing to crate out the very heavy load she needed to transport. In the back of her mind, she also added this; Calm your proverbial tits man, I’m a lady don’t rush me. This is not light you know… while resisting the urge to roll her eyes heavenwards. Once she’d managed to drag the heavy crate into the back of the Emporium, she quickly located the nearest crowbar and then pried the top off said shipment box and then laid open a collection of sparkling, shining, shimmering splendid stones. Some of them she recognized right away, since she had them in her possession: a Thunder Stone, a Dawn Stone, a Fire Stone among others.
The rest were unfamiliar but she could pretty much guess what they were—Water Stones, Leaf Stones, Oval Stones, among others. There were some other stones that sparkled and shimmered beautifully; yet she could get the feeling that they were special—and then the same guy snapped her out of her reverie. “Ahem. Excuse me miss, but aren’t you supposed to be displaying these stones? Go on, get cracking!” he said in his very authoritative voice, and she could barely repress a sigh as she quickly slung on another pair of proffered gloves before beginning to crate out several stones on a well-polished tray; she had an idea of showing them all off in terms of size and element. She then snuck a look at some of the display cases, and decided to draw from them as inspiration—and she quickly turned to the first wall display that stretched from floor to near the ceiling. She then set the tray on a side table and then returned to the back room, before wheeling out a step ladder.
Several moments later, she was balancing a tray quite precariously and then placing stones in the display cases; trying to make them shine and show in just a specific angle—which was proving to be difficult. But with time, she managed to get the first tray displayed, and then this happened in silent fashion for the next thirty minutes as the crate she’d helped unload was depleted of its stock—soon all of the empty spots in the Emporium were now filled; and just in time too; because she heard the dinging of the bell above the shop’s door! Alright, time to get this show on the road, she thought to herself as she quickly jumped down from the ladder and came face-to-face with a…red-head. She almost screamed; had it not been for the color of this person’s eyes; instead of the crimson she was still seeing in her dreams (and nightmares) they were of the deepest emerald-green.
“Hello there miss, by any chance do you have any Stones I can use for my Eevee? C’mon, Gracie, get over here,” he said, seemingly addressing someone behind him—but in this case it was an Eevee that was sniffing at the display cases! She wanted to gush over the Eevee (because let’s face it, they were so cute) but she had to restrain herself. “The store most certainly does, sir. By any chance what would you be interested in?” she asked in her best-sounding chipper voice; because when it came to the subject of Eevees and their evolutions she was hooked. “Well,” the customer began, adopting this look of sheer confusion, “…since there are so many Eevee-lutions as they’re known today, I’m having a problem trying to decide what Gracie would want to be.”
“May I?” Izumi asked, looking down at the Eevee, which was now sniffing at her boots. “Sure, go ahead,” came the reply, and she then quickly crouched down and began scratching the Eevee’s chin, to which it giggled. “So what do you want to be? A Vaporeon, master of water and the waves? Or would it be a Jolteon, wielder of lightning quick and fast? Or… would you rather be a Flareon, a light for your master when everything else goes dark? Hmm?” she asked, while tickling its ears—it sure was enjoying the ticklish sensation. The Eevee’s master was also enjoying the interaction between the two, and then she deftly picked up the Eevee and then led it over to the first display case where Water Stones were displayed in all shapes and sizes. “You know, sir,” she said, suddenly turning back to face the Eevee’s owner, “…it would entirely depend on your needs. What are you leaning toward?”

Seeing that her first customer was lost in thought, Izumi continued to fuss with the Eevee, letting it sniff at the three main evolution stones that it could use (without actually touching them, thanks to the protective layer of glass that surrounded the displays) when she heard the bell ring; signifying that someone else was with them in the premises. She looked up and this time saw that it was a man who had some semblance of dirty-blonde hair and was wearing something so casual he loked very much out-of-place within the razzle-dazzle of Lumiose, and he was looking around. She the nuzzled the Eevee named Gracie one more time, before placing the ‘mon down, where it then scampered towards her master. She then turned her attention to him, and then asked in her best chipper voice, “How can I help you today?”
The other man then turned to her and said, “Ah, miss, great timing. I’m in need of… wait give me a second here…” he broke off, digging through his vest and finally pulling out a list. “If you can give me these following stones, and quickly, then I’ll be grateful,” he continued, laying down the list on the counter, and she quickly snatched it up and scanned it, before shuffling into action. “So, sir,” she began, talking to the customer who had pulled out the entire list, “…all of this is for your own personal use, or do you have a small-time business as well?” she asked, while carefully pulling out several Moon Stones as well as Sun Stones, and placing them on a tray, which she brought back to him for inspection. “Or you’re just an avid collector?” she continued, zipping off with another tray and then eventually placing several Shiny Stones, as well as the odd Oval Stone, on it and returning to where he stood, now looking at each of them in extreme detail, raising them up to the light and looking right through them.
“Well young lady,” the prissy man began, after placing down the Sun Stone and reaching for a Moon Stone to inspect, “I’m just a delivery boy, asked to pick these up. I came out here all the way from the Kanto region. If you know Mount Moon, then that’s where I’m headed. The souvenir shop there just ran out of stock s here I am, picking some up. It’s rare looking for Moon Stones on the mount these days,” he said with a sigh, as he was now looking over the tray of Shiny and Oval Stones that he was now examining, running his fingers over the surfaces of each, before deeming them satisfactory, and placing the back on the tray. “Please wrap these up in a box, miss, I’ve already given payment over to that guy over there,” he continued, pointing to her ‘supervisor’, who was now gleefully (almost greedily as a matter of fact) counting the wad of cash that he now had in his hands.
“Alright, give me a few moments,” Izumi chirped, quickly ducking down behind the counter and looking for a box that could hold several ‘layers’ of items, and soon enough she was now packing in the Oval Stones first—followed by the Shiny Stones; and wrapping them up in protective paper as well before nestling them down inside the box. Once she had filled up the bottom row, she then placed a layer of protective ‘paper’, and then sandwiched several cardboard sheets between that paper, and another piece of paper went over that-and then she took out a funny-looking partition-grid made out of cardboard and nestled that one in. All this time she was whistling a certain theme, and once she’d wrapped up the final Moon Stone, she then quickly closed the box in such a way that it could be opened without having to exert so much force, and then bowed before handing the box to the guy who had requested for it.
“Here you go, sir,” she said, hefting the box into his hands—and then giving another bow, before quickly scurrying up to the front and holding the door open for him. “Safe trip, sir!” she called out as he slipped through the open space and then trundled out in the city. Now that it was just her and the red-head again, she was about to turn to address him—but she noticed that even he was looking and ogling over the display. She then quickly slipped back behind the counter, and was now arranging one of the displays when she heard the shop bell ring again, signifying that someone else had entered…

She then saw that there was a young woman who had now entered the store—only thing is, she was being followed by a Kirlia—and the Kirlia in question was looking so worn-down, Izumi could only stare at it out of surprise before the girl caught her attention—“Do you have a Dawn Stone, miss? I need one right away, so that my poor Kirlia can evolve and keep going,” she said, resting her elbows atop the display case—and it was here that Izumi caught sight of what the girl was wearing—the ‘traditional’ garb of those who decided to take up the Fighting-type specialist route. “Oh, right away, give me a few moments please,” she said, quickly going off to one of the display cases and hunting down a Dawn Stone that the girl could use right away—she’d seen one of the bigger ones, but decided against it. After a few moments of searching through another cabinet that had partitions, separating the stones from each other, she then headed back with the Dawn Stone in hand.
“You know,” she began, wrapping up the Dawn Stone in paper, “…I have a Gardevoir of my own,” Izumi continued, before looking at the Kirlia again. “Now you’re inspiring me to get a Gallade, just so she doesn’t feel lonely,” she continued, finishing wrapping up the Dawn Stone and handing it to the girl—and the Battle Girl (from the looks of it) then handed the money needed in order to purchase the item, and she then gave the departing Trainer a bow. “Go over to the Pokemon Center and get your partner rested up!” she called out after the lady, and then saw that the red-head was still in the store, watching the entire proceedings with some form of amusement. “You know, miss,” she heard him speak in her direction; “I’m surprised at how much you know about ‘mons in general. Why you’re working here in this store is beyond me—to each their own I guess. Oh, and I’ll take one of each Stones that you were talking about. A Water, Thunder, and Fire Stone please—since I am really unable to make up my mind what I want Gracie to be,” he said, heading over to the shop keeper and handing him the money needed to complete the purchase.
“Alright, give me another few moments,” Izumi continued, first stopping by the shop keep and giving him the money for the Dawn Stone purchase, and then going over to a different display—this time showing he first four ‘stones’ that were first discovered a long time ago; and then plucking out one of each of the elemental stones on display; and then laying the Water, Fire, and Thunder Stones gently on a tray before delivering it to the customer for inspection. “Please check them out while I get the box to wrap them in,” she continued as she went to the store room in the back—and then began searching for the boxes; all the while trying to shake off the image of the other red-head that continued to haunt her for a few moments, she stopped in her searching for that particular box, and let her emotions overtake her, if but for a moment, and rubbed her eyes to just get the teary feeling out of them. After searching for the perfect box that could house the three stones, she then found it and came back out to the front, surreptitiously rubbing her eyes on her sleeve as she did so—just in case she was seen.
After wrapping up the three stones in paper and nestling it inside the box, she was about to give it to him when he asked, “Miss, are you alright? Your eyes look puffy…” while reaching out for the box that she had now slid across the table. She then gave a sniffle, before rubbing her arm over her eyes again, and then said in a muffled voice—“Yes, yes I’m fine, it’s just that you remind me of someone I miss…” before turning away and biting her lip—now she’d gone and ruined all chance of getting to find out whatever she needed to know about Mega Stones and everything else tied to it. The shopkeeper also noticed that something was wrong with her, and he then attempted to wave the customer off, but Izumi then turned around and gave him her best attempt at a smile, “Oh, no, sir, I’m alright. Just… thank you,” she said, giving him a bow as he gave her a very haunting smile and walked out of the store, the Eevee now perched on his shoulders as he was holding the box that had the three stones.
“Well then,” the gruff voice of the shopkeeper said, looking over pointedly in her direction, “…are you sure you can still handle talking to the customers? You looked kind of off there,” he said, crossing his arms and looking at her—to which Izumi gave a nod, and then wiped her eyes once more, before saying, “He just reminded me of someone I hold near and dear…but yes I can still continue. I still have a few more hours to burn before I get off from helping you right?” she ended, straightening up and then looking in the direction of the door; as it swung open once more and the melodic chiming of the bell rang out throughout the area…

Looking up at the chiming sound, Izumi noticed that there were several people pouring in; seeing that it was a chance to actually ‘redeem’ herself (at least in the eyes of the gruff shop keeper) she then sprang to attention, putting on her best chipper smile and asking, “How can I help you today?” along with the matching smile to accompany it. the first person that looked in her direction was dressed up like a Punk; and he then walked towards where she was; before leering at her… and then saying, “Gimme a Dusk Stone, and be quick about it,” before turning his attention to the people that had followed him—they were apparently his companions, because they all started clamoring in his direction too. Just as she had turned away to get the Dusk Stone, the man then continued, “Oh, and miss, give me… let’s see… an Oval Stone; a Shiny Stone; as well as… guys, calm the hell down I’m already giving the orders—sorry about that, I’ll also need two Leaf Stones, two Sun Stones, a Thunder Stone, three Fire Stones… and two Water Stones while you’re at it,” he added in the same manner, before huffing and then shouting something unintelligible to the ‘horde’ that had accompanied him into the store.
Yeesh, so many? Well then, that’s going to be fine… she thought as she quickly took out her pen and notepad, before scribbling down every single order that he was requesting; and then shuffling into the storage room in the back so that she could deliver all of the required stones that the ‘leader’ was asking for. She then began poking around the boxes for the Dusk Stone, and finally found one that was of the right shape and size; for most of the Dusk Stones were larger than normal. She then got her hands on a basket, and then set down the stone in it and crossed it off the list; before reaching towards the box that contained the rest of the ‘classic’ stones. In a few moments she had filled out the basket with three Fire Stones, two Water Stones, two Leaf Stones, along with the Thunder Stone. She then proceeded to cross out the order and then picked up the pace, finally finding the rest of the order; and soon enough she was now back in the front of the store, wrapping up all of the orders in individual wrapping paper and then setting them all out for the ‘leader’ to see. “That was quick, okay guys, calm your horns, line up and I’ll distribute them!” he shouted to the clamoring horde; and from the moment she set down a stone, he snatched it up and handed it down the line; saving the Dusk Stone for the very last.
“I’ve already paid your owner,” he said her way, picking up the Dusk Stone and then motioning towards the gruff-faced, gruff-voiced shop keep; and she looked his way—and saw that he was now counting a very thick wad of bills, cackling to himself. “Thanks for the prompt service by the way miss. Come on guys, get outta here, we got some work to do!” he first said to her; before turning to his ‘horde’ of followers; and then as one, the mob of people then left the shop pretty much deserted… and then she slumped down on the chair to take a breather! Man, so many people coming and going… but still that red-head crept the hell out of me… she thought to herself; wiping down with a spare towel she’d thought to stash in her jeans pocket. Now that everyone was pretty much gone, she decided to take a second look at the displays; because there was a particular display case that had caught her eye; and that one had shiny marble-like stones nestled and prominently displayed in it; and she was pretty sure that they weren’t like any of the Stones she’d handled so far.
She then walked out from behind the counter, and then hobbled her way over to that particular display case, and stared at the little marbles; wondering what they were for… “These aren’t like all the Stones I’ve handled today… what are these, and why do they look different?” she asked in a quivering voice; hoping that the shop keep would hear her and finally disclose the secret of these ‘shiny marbles’ (as she called them)…
