he refreshing spring breeze blew in over the small town of Verdanturf, causing the flowers that sprinkled the ground to wave to and fro. Jason smiled at the beautiful scene, acknowledging what people said about the small town. It was a postcard town, and nothing would change that; not even the force of nature battling one another and nearly destroying the region.
Then again, Jason was only looking over the town from his vantage point on top of a tree in the forest that surrounded the town. Perhaps it was worse in the town? Either way, he would be making a stop in the town for some supplies, and the continue on his happy little way. He was getting some major training sessions in and he didn't need any distractions. Jason climbed down the tree, swiftly and carefully like one who had done so before, and landed on the ground with a soft thud. He was about to leave the area when he heard some rustling from the bushes around him. He tensed and put his hand in his pocket, wrapping around a pokeball. He would be ready for whatever came.

nother sudden shake came from the bush directly opposite him. Jason was not going to take any chances with whatever was in that bush, and quickly pulled out a pokeball from his pocket and enlarged it. Swiftly and with much more finesse than he had previously, he tossed the ball in the air where it exploded in a flash of light. "Pichupi!" the tiny electric mouse pokemon squeaked, glad to see his trainer. "Chip, watch out for whatever is about to come out of those bushes over there." Jason ordered, pointing towards the bushes that were shaking earlier. The two watched the bushes with an intense focus and were more than prepared for when the bushes began to shake once more and...
... a tiny green bird hopped out of the bush and cawed, "Tu." Chip looked back at his trainer for orders, but was met with the sight of a chuckling teenager. "What had he been scared of? It was only a stupid Natu! The little green thing was probably just looking for food when I had gotten down from the tree and I must have spooked it." Jason thought as he watched the small bird, which was watching staring at him. "Tu, Tu, Tu, Natu!" the small bird pokemon suddenly chanted, sparkles of light shimmering in the air around it after it finished. "Huh.. Guess we're battling! Chip, think of a plan then shock it!" Jason said aloud. The little mouse pokemon was a few steps ahead of its trainer, for it had already began thinking of nasty plans to harm the bird pokemon. "Pi!" Chip squeaked, before letting loose two bolts of electricity, one after another. His attacks hit their mark and the little bird yelped before it fell to the ground, paralyzed and near unconsciousness. Jason eyed it for a minute before deciding to lob a pokeball at it. Who knew what kind of pokemon were lurking around here, looking for an easy lunch. Catching it would be the best thing to do.

he trainer and his pokemon watched as the light of the pokeball swirled around the small green bird before falling to the ground, where it began to shake. One. Two.. Three... CLICK. Jason smiled at Chip, who in turn squeaked and let out a few sparks in celebration. It was nice being able to get a new team member, especially one who could, or at least would be able to after evolution, fly! Smiling, he picked up the pokeball and squatted down and put his backpack down to pack the pokeball. He got up after finding a place in his ever full bag for the pokeball, and went over to where Chip was poking around. "What'd you find, Chip?" Jason asked from behind the little electric pokemon. Excited by his find, Chip began emitting sparks form his cheeks and letting out high pitched squeals. He then pointed at some kind of imprint left by a pokemon. A pokemon that definitely wasn't Natu. "Huh.." Jason thought as he inspected the footprint. Perhaps they could stay out a little longer and find out what the pokemon was. Jason checked his PokeNav, and satisfied with the remaining time in the day, set off after Chip.
The tiny yellow pokemon bounded and leaped across the terrain, sniffing out the mystery pokemon. Chip didn't really care what the other pokemon was, he was just excited to be out with Trainer! He turned his little head to confirm that Trainer truly was following him. "Yayayayay! Trainer is coming! Yay!" the little Pichu squaked. He decided to wait in a small clearing for Trainer, completely unaware of whatever laid in the surrounding trees..

he clearing that the small electric mouse pokemon currently was residing in was surrounded by trees of varying heights. From one of these trees, Chip suddenly heard a few high pitched squawks. He immediately turned and his ears began rotating like satellites, searching for the source of the sound. "Swa!" That was all he needed. Chip raced over towards a rather tall tree a couple of yards away from where he was standing earlier. High in the tree was a nest filled with three baby blue bird pokemon. "Swa, Swa, Swa!" They cooed and cawed, getting Chip's attention. "Pipi Pichu!" Chip squeaked in return, and rushed back to find his Trainer.
"Shit." Jason said, looking around lost. He had just seen Chip, literally a few seconds, standing in this exact place. Where had the little yellow ragamuffin run off to? That was very unlike him, considering he was a Momma's boy, or Pappa's if you think of Jason as the Momma/Pappa.. Either way, Chip rarely ever left Jason's side; where could he have gone? Jason sighed and continued walking in the general direction he had last seen Chip, wishing he would come across him. His wishes were answered sooner than he would have thought. Chip ran into Jason's legs and almost managed to knock him over from the sheer speed he was traveling at. "Whoah whoah, calm down there, Speed Racer. What's the matter?" Jason asked, picking up the small mouse pokemon. Chip was having none of it though, and quickly jumped out of Jason's hands and squealed, "Pichu pipi!" before dashing into the wooded area. "What the.. Chip, come back!" Jason exclaimed, before he too ran into the forest.
Chip returned to the same tree he had been at earlier and where the baby birds had been at, and sat at the base of it, waiting for Jason. It seemed like an eternity for the Pichu, while it was in fact only five minutes, for Jason to show up, but he finally did and glared at his pokemon. "What the fu-" Jason's explicit statement was cut short as Chip shocked him and pointed up towards the tree where the nest was clearly visible. "Oh." He said as he rubbed his arm where Chip had shocked him. This must be why Chip was freaking out.. The baby Swablu don't have any parents and need help.. Well, that's just what we'll do! Jason pulled out two pokeballs and one Luxuryball, he needed some more musical attuned pokemon, and looked over at Chip. "Think of a plan, then blast the nest!" Was what Jason ordered Chip to do. Nodding, the yellow mouse pokemon formed a devious plan to attack the three pokemon and then let loose a thunder shock that blasted the nest and left the outside of it charred. Jason cringed when he saw the damage and quickly tossed the two pokeballs and the single Luxuryball at the nest where they enveleoped their targets in glowing white light. Jason and Chip were so focused on the capture that they were completely unaware of the large pokemon that was flying towards the nest..

ason and his pokemon companion waited for something to happen; either the balls would bust or the three baby pokemon would be captured. One second, two seconds, three seconds.. DING! DING! DING! Three successful captures! Jason was grinning like a fool until he realized that he had an issue. How was he supposed to get the pokeballs and luxuryball down from the nest? He looked up, and guessed that the nest was about 35 feet above the ground, and with so few limbs near the ground, Jason wouldn't be able to climb it. He looked over at Chip, who was also looking at this next, and a sheepish grin took hold of his face. "Hey there, Chip.. You wouldn't mind getting those balls for me, would you?" Jason asked. Chip looked up once more at the enormous tree in front of him, then back to Jason, and said very softly, "Pi.."
That was how a tiny electric mouse found himself climbing a 50 foot tree in order to grab some pokeballs. The climb wasn't terribly hard, he was a mouse like pokemon after all, but it was horrifying for something so small to be up so high. When he was at the appropriate branch that the nest was on, Chip climbed towards it and realized something.. How was he going to get the balls down to Jason? If he dropped them, and Jason didn't catch them, the balls would shatter; killing whatever was inside. Chip looked at the shiny balls before him and knew the process of getting them down would take quite a while. Just as Chip was about to grab the first pokeball to take down to Jason, he heard a loud and high pitched tweet from behind him. Curious and terrified as to what was up so high with, Chip turned around and was face to face with an angry Altaria.
She was gone for twenty minutes, off hunting for berries for her precious babies, and she came back to see.. Well, the mother Altaria didn't really know what she was seeing. A small mouse, Pichu, was standing in her nest surrounded by three Human spheres. Those spheres, she had heard from neighboring Altaria, were capable of imprisoning her babies! With the fury that only a mother could have, the Altaria made a grab for the electric pokemon, but it quickly jumped back. "Aria!" She squawked, rage rushing through her veins as she landed in her nest to get on level fight ground with Pichu. It would pay for stealing her children!
Jason watched in horror as an Altaria flew to the nest that Chip was now picking through. Jason did his best to alert Chip of the incoming danger, but his shouts just weren't enough. He winced when he saw the draconic bird land and make a swipe for Chip, which it thankfully missed. From all the way down here, there wasn't much he could do.. Except! Jason quickly pulled his backpack off and began digging through it for a pokeball..
"Pipipi chupichu pi!" Chip squealed quickly, terrified. He was trying to explain what had happened, and the mistake he had made, but the Altaria was having none of it. She puffed her chest, and crushing the berry in her hand, released a beam of electricity at Chip. It him square on, but didn't really do too much damage. In fact, he used it to his advantage. While the electricity cackled around him, he made a tackle for the Altaria, knocking it, him, and the pokeballs to the earth. As they fell, Chip also released small burst of lightning into the fluffy cloud like pokemon.
"Belle, protect!" Jason exclaimed as he watched the pokemon and pokeballs fall to the earth. Belle nodded, or did a Snorunt version of a nod, and created a wall of energy for the pokeballs to fall onto. Chip and the Altaria hit the ground as the balls rolled off of the ramp created for them and onto the ground, not breaking. Jason quickly picked them up and stuffed them in his backpack. Sore from the fall, but having used the Altaria as a cushioning not extremely hurt, Chip jumped up to go with his teammate. The Altaria attempted to gather itself best it could, her left wing having been crushed from the fall, but found she couldn't move. Chip's Volt Tackle had paralyzed her. She could fix one of her problems, at least. Gathering her energy, she began to glow and shimmer green, before it busted outward; healing her of the paralysis. She glared at the two small pokemon and began singing a song of death and revenge, the notes flying towards them. "Snowy wind!" Jason shouted, hoping Belle would be able to hear him. Belle did indeed hear him, and released a Powder Snow to block the Round, which was immediately followed by an Icy Wind. Scared of the large pokemon, Belled released another Icy Wind as the Altaria prepped itself for an attack. Wounded, worried, and ready to fight to the death, the mother Altaria sang a song of everlasting sleep towards the ice wraith, luring it into a deep sleep. "Pi?!" Chip squeaked, watching as his friend was put to sleep. Hugging himself, Chip wished for something good, and a ball of white energy left his tail and hovered above him, growing in size.
Suddenly, just as the Altaria was going to attack, Jason hurled an Ultraball at it. It had taken him quite a while to find the Ultraballs that he had gotten in Rustboro, but here they were! Hopefully it would be able to capture the dragon..

rio barely had time to celebrate, well Chip and Jason since Belle was asleep, when all of a sudden they heard another squawk from above, and watched in terror as a larger blue bird dived down at them, it's talons stretched out. Jason moved first, snatching both Belle and Chip up and kicking the Ultraball towards a bush, keeping it out of the way of the angry Altaria. The Altaria's attack missed and its talons raked the earth, leaving deep gashes where Jason and Chip had just been. It glared and them, but didn't move, waiting for them to make the first move. "Chip.. Volt Tackle!" Chip dashed forward, electricity buzzing around his body as he burst forward to tackle the Altaria; however, the Altaria was also coming forward, its body glowing white. The two collided, hurling Chip into a tree and the Altaria a few feet backwards. Chip moaned and got up slowly, barely able to hold his own wait. Suddenly, the ball of energy from earlier glowed bright and rushed into Chip, rejuvenating him.
With a new found energy coursing through him, Chip released a zap of lightning at the Atlaria, startling it. This attack, however, did nothing more than anger it. Glaring at the Pichu, the Altaria twisted its wings around itself for a few seconds, blue and red energy swirling around it. Chip, and Jason, watched in awe as the energy climaxed and started blazing purple, before the Altaria launched itself at Chip with the force of a thousand cannons. "Piiiiiiiiiiii!" Chip screamed as the Altaria crushed him with its immense force. The scream was enough to wake Belle from her slumber, and she gasped when she saw the damage the Altaria had done. Jason's look of awe was replaced with one of fury as he watched his pokemon be brutalized. "Enough! Chip return!" Jason declared, pulling his pokeball and recalling Chip in a beam of red light. "Belle, let's take this thing out!" Jason said, all humor gone from his voice. The little Snorunt waddled over to Jason's side to prep an attack when she was smacked in the face by a song of hate. Furious, Belle blasted the Altaria with a freezing wind and went in for a chilling bite immediately afterwards. The Altaria would have made an attempt to retaliate, but the bite startled her and caused her to flinch.
Noticing the yellow sparks coming off of the draconic bird, Jason knew their best chance would be now. "Belle, another bite!" Do the best that she could to nod, Belle rushed towards the Altaria and bit down on its wing. It let out a cry of pain and pecked at Belle before she was able to run off. Taking a chance, Jason hurled the other empty Ultraball he had at the paralyzed and fallen Altaria.

s usual for this situation, Jason watched with his fingers crossed as the Ultraball twitched once, twice, and finally, three times, before it dinged. He let out a sigh of relief, glad that Belle wouldn't have to face the wrath of the Altaria. Jason looked down at the ball, grabbed it, and then looked over to Belle, who was sitting down and resting from the fight. It was a little worrying for Jason when Chip was attacked by the insane Altaria, the dragon pokemon completely obliterating Chip's health. Even more worrying when the giant bird pokemon attacked Belle, even though Jason knew Belle had an advantage over it.
Jason walked over towards the little ice pokemon and petted it on the head, smiling, and praised, "Great job, Belle! You really showed that asshole what's what!" The little Snorunt stood a little taller then, and nuzzled Jason's leg, glad she had made her trainer proud. Chuckling, Jason picked Belle up and made his way out of the clearing and back towards the town.
