So there were rumors of a new ‘mon that was apparently hot on the ‘market’ so to speak, and Kouji, not wanting to miss anything, decided to go take a mini-vacation in this new region called ‘Kalos’, as there were rumors and word of several new species appearing here and there. Now that he’d already arrived, he was secretly relieved that he’d packed a wide assortment of clothes with him—along with his camera, as everything in this dazzling city was so… stylish. And certainly hell-ass expensive! He thought to himself, cringing at the price of just one scarf. He knew that he was in a bit of trouble since his finances were always low, but he decided to turn over a new leaf and begin breeding more often, and then selling the resulting ‘mons to interested people.
He then had a fresh batch and stock of Pokeballs ready for the using, and he wanted to try out Irina and Orloff, the Sawk that he’d recently caught and wanted to train. He had half a mind of keeping the Tyrogue that he’d bred some time ago, but he just wanted to make sure that the market wasn’t interested in a Tyrogue before actually claiming him for his own. Now that he was here… he quickly slipped on a pair of shades and then summoned out Irina, his wild-tempered Vullaby, in a flash of red light. “Keep your eyes peeled, girl. We’re looking for some new Ranch occupants to take home, okay?” he said, to which the Vullaby squawked and then tried to flap its stubbly wings in reply.
Now that he was finally getting the ball rolling, he began looking through the city’s outskirts—only to be almost besieged by a Ghost-type that suddenly made a very unwelcome appearance by literally floating out of the nearest wall! Irina then let out a squawk of shock, before leering aggressively at the levitating ball of gas, which Kouji immediately recognized as a Gastly. “Well, we came out all this way here to lok for a sword; but eh, let’s get this thing! Iri, go and prepare a Punishment attack now, because hell it’s the only thing we got!” he shouted, before quickly skidding off to a safe distance and then sending out another ‘mon to assist his Vullaby—Elizabeth, his Misdreavus.
“Beth,” he began once the red light formed into his trusty partner’s shape, “Go and support Iri from the sidelines with a Psybeam attack okay? And be discreet about it,” he added with a wink, before watching the Misdreavus float off towards where the Diapered ‘mon was preparing its lone attack that could definitely hit something floating in the air. At the same time it let loose the flurry of dark energy, a beam of psychic energy came zooming out from behind the Vullaby’s back, and the Gastly had no time to fire off what looked to be a Dark Pulse attack—because with the current chances of Psybeam actually confusing the opponent, Kouji could only hope that it would be a good one! He then crossed his fingers and watched as the Ghost ‘mon recoiled out of sheer terror, but braced itself and then fired off another attempt at a Dark Pulse attack.
“Iri, go use Tailwind now! Beth, do a Confuse Ray towards that Gastly, make sure it hits, then follow it up with another Psybeam! After that, Iri, use Punishment again, and go!” he addressed the two ‘mons, and the two began to weave their web of synchronized attacks. He felt a powerful wind blow through the area; which was a sign that the Tailwind had worked, and now his party of ‘mons were benefiting from increased Speed, which allowed them to react faster.
At the same moment, he saw a sinister flash of light coming from his Misdreavus, and chuckled as the Vullaby neatly turned to one side and let the light fly towards the Gastly—and watched as it took the attack full in the face. After that, another beam of sinister psychic energy emanated from the Misdreavus, and then it was followed up with another assault and displayof power from the Diapered ‘mon.
The Gastly could not bear under the force of the attacks that had rained down on it at the moment; what with the Tailwind giving his opponents a significant speed boost. Instead of firing the Dark Pulse right at the two, it backfired and hit itself, which promptly made it fall to the ground all dizzy. “Perfect,” he said with a grin as he dug around and quickly lobbed a PokeBall towards the fallen Gastly—and watched as it got swallowed up in a flash of red light.

Gastly: confused due to Confuse Ray + takes extra damage from Punishment due to Confusion status change
Tailwind 4 / 4
Requesting break-up of Kouji's Beginner's pack for the Pokeballs needed for this thread, please and thank you.
Now that he’d acquired yet another Ghost-type to add to his Ranch population, he was starting to notice something—why were all of his companions of the more feared typings? He could only shake his head as he walked forward with the two ‘mons out; the Misdreavus was keeping watch from behind while the Vllaby was tromping along in front—when he heard a loud squawk. “What, what is it Iri…?” he said, before his eyes fell down to the cause of the disturbance—it was a Litwick, yet another Unova native! Also pretty ironic that this little one is of the ghost type. What the hell is wrong with me, he thought to himself as he quickly readied up for battle. He knew that the Tailwind was still in effect, so he quickly issued the first set of orders, “Iri, go hit the Litwick with your Fury Attack; Beth, give supporting cover with your Confuse Ray and then follow it up with a Psybeam! Let’s do this!”
“Vulla, vullaby!”
“Misdreavus!”
The two then sprang into action—the Diapered ‘mon quickly came forward in an assault that consisted of four peck-like attacks; while the floating Misdreavus quickly readied the Confuse Ray. Another bright flash of light lit up the area; and the Vullaby deftly turned away from the light (it was as if the two could read each other’s moves now) and then said Confuse Ray hit the Litwick before exploding in a flash-bang like way. “Go, now! Psybeam and then Iri, use Punishment! Let’s make it work!” he called out, watching the two working together as the Ghost-type fired off two successive beams of sinister energy that made the hairs on Kouji’s arms stand up on all end; while the avian prepared for another unleashing of power that would hurt even more since the Litwick was currently confused.
Said Litwick was trying to toss a Shadow Ball attack, and it did manage to fire off one instance—however due to the way it had aimed it flew off into the distance instead; completely missing the two ‘mons that were ganging up on it at this point. Seeing an opening, he continued, “Come on, let’s end it quick, Beth, give us another Psybeam attack—Iri, you know the drill, hit it with Punishment one more time and let’s get going! We need to look for that elusive ‘mon!” and backed away as he saw utter pandemonium break out once more—this time the Litwick took its own Shadow Ball attack in the face (as it was aiming for the Misdreavus but couldn’t focus too well) and then the beam of sinister energy shot forward, followed by the display of power coming from the Vullaby.
After another show of tandem attacks, the Litwick’s flame sputtered, before falling face-first into the ground—and he took out another PokeBall and let it fly; watching as the Litwick was swallowed up in another flash of red light…

Wondering if he was going to get his luck handed to him, he decided to continue forward—and his eyebrows shot up out of surprise—because what was he looking a right now; it was a Gothita—another Unova native that had somehow found its way to the huge urban locale that was Kalos! He knew that someone somewhere must be shrieking at him right now—why was he encountering his client’s wish list Pokemon when he himself didn’t need it? Might as well turn it female with the gender-bending candies… he thought to himself as he quickly got into position with his Vullaby and Misdreavus. “Well, I think I owe someone a birthday present. Let’s go get the Gothita!” he said, making a mental note to breed it first and have a spawn of his own before giving this actual one to his ‘preferred client’.
“Beth. You know the drill, fire off a Confuse Ray on it, and then proceed with a Power Gem, because I know and I am absolutely sure that you are going to get stomped on, so stay behind me. Iri, get ready with Punishment—lay it on after Beth delivers the Confuse Ray, okay? Now, go!” he said, waving his hands forward and the two ‘mons with him sprang into action—the Misdreavus flashed the Gothita a cocky grin, before releasing a ball of light that made Kouji turn away (as well as the Vullaby) and it soared before hitting the Gothita straight in the face; he knew that he was going to get this one as a ‘thank you’ for the Fire Lady. Said Gothita then moved in with a series of Doubleslap attacks aimed at the Vullaby—and for a few moments it did succeed, hitting the Diapered ‘mon which made it cry out in surprise! Gah! Confuse Ray, why aren’t you working? He thought to himself out of surprise; and then watched as the particle beam that his Misdreavus had summoned quickly went soaring towards the Gothita that was coming in for another round of attacks!
Instead of hitting the Vullaby with its continued assault of Doubleslap, it ended up hitting itself—to which the Vullaby then unleashed a display of power, hitting the Gothita and making it cry out of surprise due to the super-effectiveness of the Punishment attack—and then it baced away, waiting for Kouji’s next round of orders. “Okay, Beth, go Shadow Ball—Iri, I know I’ll hate myself for making you do this, but go in for a Fury Attack! Throw out as much as you can!” he said, backing up a few more paces in order to give them enough room to cause havoc. The Misdreavus complied and sent out a lump of shadow energy right at the Gothita, which was still trying to gain its bearings—and then soon after that the Vullaby came in for a quick succession of pecking attacks with its beak. He knew that it wasn’t that powerful, but then again, he had to at least do something…
The Gothita then snapped out of its confused state, and then leered down at the two ‘mons that were ganging up on it—and then proceeded to aim a Psybeam attack—right at the Misdreavus! “Beth! Dodge!” he shouted, remembering that Psychic-attacks were lethal against Ghost-types—and as the Misdreavus moved to dodge, it was still hit—but with much less power. He winced as he heard Beth cry out in pain—and then it happened again; there was another pain building up—at the base of his skull. Ah shit why now?! He thought to himself, quickly bracing himself and leaning against the wall—and issuing the next set of orders before the pain overtook him—“Beth, dodge anything that Gothita throws at you. Iri, keep ‘im busy…!” and then his hands went to his head, and he clutched his hair so hard, it was in danger of ripping it out—there was another vision that was racking his ‘eye’.
Ugh… what the hell?! He thought as instead of seeing the alleyway where his ‘mons were fighting, he could see fire. Flickering flames—and then people rushing to and fro, screaming for help—and there were figures hat were also running about, actually helping spread said flames. He then tried to see if there was someone he knew in all this mess—and then heard a scream; from a little girl! Right then and there, the vision ended and he was back in Kalos, shaking his head so hard it was actually hurting. “Misdreavus?!” he heard the little ‘mon ask, and he noticed that Beth was now floating in front of his face, looking extremely concerned. “Eh, I’m fine… how goes Irina?” he asked, and she floated aside—to reveal that the Gothita was now staggering—apparently the Vullaby had taken it upon herself to assault the Gothita with Fury Attack, and it was now on the verge of collapse. “Iri, I said attack, not destroy completely,” he addressed the Diapered ‘mon with a stern tone, yet deferred at the last moment as he plucked out another PokeBall, and sent this one flying in the Gothita’s direction.
Now that he’d managed to get his hands on the Gothita, he was about to turn away and head out when something that sounded like a slashing noise pervaded the area—he could only wonder what was causing said noise. As he turned around to look—it was yet another Unova native, but something he’d been secretly looking for—a Pawniard! He could also tell (thanks to reading up on different things related to Breeding) that this one was a female; something that was valuable whenever actual breeding requests was posted. He then realized that his own two ‘mons were already staggering over and in danger of collapse, so he quickly recalled the two; and decided to send out two more—this time it would be Alexander, his Duskull and Orloff, the crazy Sawk that was itching for a fight. “I know that I’m a terrible fighter so guys, please put up with me okay? I just need you to take down that Pawniard over there and we’re done,” he said simply, pointing in the Pawniard’s direction—which was starting to look extremely territorial at this point.
Right then and there, said Pawniard quickly dashed forward, rearing its ‘appendages’ in a semblance of an attack—though he could not tell which one was which—and then quickly belted out the first set of orders, “Alex, Confuse Ray that thing right now! Orloff, do a Bulk Up, and then proceed with a Rock Smash attack, now!” and watched as the second ‘team’ sprang into action—the Duskull quickly released a flash of light so dazzling; Kouji (and the Sawk as well) had to turn away due to its brilliance—and it went off like a flash-bang grenade in the Pawniard’s face. Now that that was done, the Sawk sprang into action—taking a deep breath and then standing up in an intimidating fashion, bearing its muscles—and then hefting towards the ground and picking up the nearest rock he could find and tossing it right at the confounded Pawniard!
The dazed Pawniard saw the incoming rock and made to dodge—but another rock was sneakily hidden behind the first one; and even if it had managed to barely dodge the first, the second one smacked it round the head, making it even more confused than it already was. “Excellent work there, you two. Now, Alex, Shadow Sneak! Prepare a Payback attack if necessary! Orloff, keep it up with the Rock Smash attack, we got this!” and then let the two ‘mons do their thing—the Duskull quickly extended its own shadow up until it was at the Pawniard’s feet—which was still flailing around and trying to launch either a Slash of Scratch attack at the Sawk that was now tossing rocks in its direction—and the shadowy tendrils smacked it from behind; and the Sawk came up close and hefted a few more rocks in its direction. Seeing that it was still standing, the Pawniard then aimed a Slash attack at the Sawk; which connected—and the Sawk cried out in surprise—and Kouji cringed, because he knew that Pawniard appendages were nothing more than blades.
Ouch… he thought as he quickly shifted around, changing up tactics—“Focus Energy and then Rock Smash now, Orloff! Alex, provide covering fire with Shadow Sneak one more time!” he called out, and the Requiem ‘mon quickly complied and sent out its own shadow sneaking up behind the Pawniard once more; while the Sawk was regaining its focus—and then quickly hefted another batch of rocks in its direction—before coming up close and personal, and smashing the said rocks in its face. Under the combined force of the attacks, the Pawniard soon went down—and he took his chance, quickly taking out another blank Pokeball and letting it fly—watching as it absorbed the Pawniard in a flash of red light, before falling to the ground.
