t was hot in Lavaridge, very hot. Jason had grown up in the Hoenn region, so he was used to, and usually enjoyed, the warmth of the region; but the scorching temperatures in Lavaridge were really getting to him. He wasn't surprised though, considering the Gym Leader was a Fire specialist, they had a natural hot springs over by the Pokemon Center, and, most importantly, a volcano loomed over the city. If any place was going to be in the, Jason quickly checked the temperature on his phone, 90s (Fahrenheit), it would be Lavaridge.
Pulling at the collar of his shirt, Jason looked around. He knew enough about the town from his studies over Gyms, their types, and the towns they reside in; but he never really considered how small the actual town was. Jason was used to the big cities and all the joys they held: clubs, bars, malls, and thousands of different people. This small town though, with a population he could probably count on his fingers, wouldn't have any of that. He'd be surprised if they had a movie theater... Actually, he wanted to know if they had a movie theater. He wandered around the town, popping his head into various shops in search of one. Finally, after returning to the same shop one too many times, the owner called in her Machamp who began chasing Jason out of the shop and through the streets.
Jason had taken a wrong turn somewhere, because he found himself in a mountainous rocky area, with no sign of civilization in sight. Well, at least he had lost the murderous Machamp. Really, what was that old lady's issue? All he had wanted to know was if they had a movie theater or some form of entertainment, but nooooooooooooooooooooooo; the crazy old bat had to call her weight lifting pokemon to come and kick his ass, or at least try to. Jason looked up the sky, searching, this time for any kind of building, but was surprised to see a stream of steam floating upwards a few miles away. Thinking it would be nice to relax, Jason walked over towards what he assumed to be a natural hot spring.
The damned hot springs were farther than he had thought, and it took him thirty minutes to hike up to them. When Jason finally got there, he was met with an.. Err.. Surprise. All he could say to what lay before him was, "Oh."

Time to rock n' roll Time to lose control Time to rock n' roll Time to take control
Out of all the places in Hoenn, it was actually kind of strange how much Lavaridge reminded Elinda of home. The places were almost complete opposites - where Lavaridge was known for the active volcano that was Mt. Chimney as well as the excessive heat that came as a result of that along with the numerous Fire and Poison types, her home had been quite different. Like Lavaridge, Elinda's home had been located deep within the central mountain range of her region, but that place had been far, far different, touched by all four seasons throughout the year - the forests would shift from the dead and brown to bud in spring and then the lush green of summer before being followed by the myriad reds, oranges and yellows of fall, with the nearby lake melting and thawing alongside them. That place had been known instead for its Rock, Steel and Water types in direct contrast to Lavaridge, but even in spite of all that the tropical settlement and the rough terrain simply put Elinda at ease in a way that few other places truly did.
All things considered, then, it was extremely fortunate on her part that an old friend had moved to the town as well after leaving their home region - it made sense given that her sister also lived there, but it simplified things immensely as well considering that Elinda still wasn't quite sure when she would go home to patch things up with Taichi. Seven years was a long, long time, and even as flighty as Elinda might have seemed to the rest of the world she knew full well that there wasn't any possible excuse for dropping off the face of the planet the way she had - and it didn't exactly help matters that the one thing she did do on returning to Hoenn the first time was to leave a note at home instead of actually facing the man, and then turning around to see their daughter and only remaining child at home off as a trainer. Regardless of how to best deal with that particular situation, however, Elinda had done what she did best on returning home - employ her trademark skill in avoiding all responsibilities, skip straight past Lilycove for the second time in a row after returning from Orre and once more hightail it straight to Lavaridge to pay Jace a surprise visit. Once she got back home, anyways, last thing Elinda wanted was to risk pissing her off enough to press breaking and entering charges...... again.
So, with several hours of time left to burn and the entire expanse of wilderness outside of Lavaridge to do it in, the trainer had done something that she hadn't had the chance to in a long, long time. No battling, no real training of any kind for a change, just hours of rough terrain hiking and climbing with her Pokemon. No real goal beyond seeing whatever the area had to offer - what had changed since they had last done so all those years ago, and just getting back into the flow of things in general. There were still several old faces missing - Golem and Empoleon, as well as Dugtrio, one she knew she would never see again - but there were many new ones as well, Pokemon that the remainder of her old team was not familiar with and vice versa, and the activity would do them good in familiarizing everyone with each other. That being said, though, Elinda herself could only keep up with them for so long - at the end of the day she herself was only human, and it hadn't taken them long to find one of the many natural hot springs that the area was famous for up in the mountains once they'd started to look for a place to stop and rest.
Bag set aside and far enough from the edge of the water with her travel clothes folded atop it, the veteran trainer simply sat in one of the shallower pools as she allowed herself to relax and her mind to wander, dressed in her sports clothes that she carried for such occasions to preserve at least a decent amount of modesty. It wasn't like she had to worry about much of anything out there anyways, especially with her Pokemon out as well - with Metagross in the same pool that she was in and simply sitting half submerged like a giant blue boulder, Aggron curled up by the water's edge but close enough to enjoy the warmth and Staryu floating about on the water's steaming surface, any attempt by a wild Pokemon or passing trainer to start trouble would likely end before it began, even with Steelix asleep and her two Bug types off exploring on their own. It was a nice change of pace, really, and in a way that Elinda had very nearly forgotten to allow herself every now and then. Given the several minutes of quiet, it came as something of a surprise when Metagross' crimson eyes popped open again, locking onto something behind his trainer as Elinda turned her own head to see what had caught his attention.
While Elinda knew it was a possibility - which was the very reason she was still clothed in at least some shape and form - she hadn't exactly expected to run into anyone else in the mountains to the west of Lavaridge, and the fact that there was apparently a trainer standing no more than a few meters behind her did come as something of a surprise. Evidently the same to him, as the kid looked equally as surprised to see anyone else out there, something that was probably not helped as Aggron turned her head to see who else was there as he spoke, the sound likewise attracting the attention of an apparently not so asleep Steelix as the massive silver head likewise rose from what had probably just looked like a collection of boulders behind the springs. Given that the other trainer had more or less said everything there was to say about the situation, though, all Elinda could really do was raise her hand in a rather out of place wave of acknowledgement - really, what else was there to do in a situation like that?

I have 1,055 words for ELINDA & JASON
By The Way; If I need to add more to give more to respond to, just say the word.
Lavaridge, the home away from home, or actually, her only home left now. It didn’t bother her anymore, in fact she hardly thought about it, but Ricki did know full and well that she no longer had the option of returning to the place of which she’d been raised. The region she came from was most likely drowning in conflict and bloodshed, becoming a place no one could really call home anymore. So, in the end, yes, Lavaridge seemed to be her last place of refuge. It had been the place she’d spent many summers and vacations thanks to the fact it was the place most of her family lived in. When she was much younger, she and her mother had once lived here before her mother was given the chance to do more worthwhile work in the other region and they left to live there instead.
Dispelling the thoughts of that region from her mind, Ricki’s focus came to the quarreling Pokémon before her. Ever since she got back to Lavaridge, she’d taken to the task of picking back up training more and more. Honestly when she woke up this morning, after just stealing some toast, she stumbled her way out the door and made her way out here to get started right away. It didn’t seem like she was progressing as fast as she had used to, but her team was certainly making more progress as she watched them battling and playing together. Cinder and Breezy were becoming bash bros and all attempts for Breezy to land Leech Seed or Razor Leaf were cut off with Cinder’s faster flames. It was certainly good for her Quilava’s aim and Ivysaur’s speed. Up in the sky it seemed Shield and Pidge had taken to sparing each other as well, the sound of the bronzing chiming loudly possibly echoing through the mountain side.
From her seat on the ground, Ricki’s focus shifted to another Pokémon duo she hadn’t had a chance to use in a while. Her old Kabutops was in the process of taking on the powerhouse that was her newly acquired Rhydon. Crawler and Aegis seemed to enjoy battling each other as well. The small clearing Ricki had taken over for the sake of training was certainly getting torn up by all the Pokémon she had brought to it and the wild Pokémon had started to create a bit of distance from that spot in particular. It was a good thing to, because Ricki at the moment wasn’t all up for the idea of having to fight those off. She had made the mistake a couple of days ago of trying to fight with Rep before her muscles had properly built back up and the bruises she’d gotten from that ass kicking were still healing. Her mother certainly had a lovely lecture set up for her the moment she realized what Ricki had done.
“Don’t fight your Pokémon, you’re lucky it was just bruising, meh meh meh” Ricki muttered mockingly under her breath as she started to get up. An alarm on her Gear had started to go off and with a slap of her hand, she silenced its cries. She brought a hand up to her mouth and made the OK sign with her fingers. Pressing her thumb and index finger into her mouth, Ricki blew out a loud high pitch whistle that immediately got the focus of the quarreling Pokémon in front of her. They all made their way over to her, settling down in front of their trainer with curious gazes. Yawning into her hand, Ricki smiled at the group. “Alright, good work so far. We’re gonna take a break for now, though. I’ll get some food from town for us and we can pick back up after lunch” she informed, before returning all of the Pokémon to their pokeballs.
Clicking the balls onto her belt’s holder, Ricki scanned the area once more and just quietly hoped that there was no way she could get in trouble for this mess. Her eyes flicked over to where Cinder and Breezy had been fighting and she made her way over to use her shoe to put out some of the razor leaves that had been left a blaze on the floor. Stepping on them and twisting to put out the flames, she looked around before declaring the sight was safe to leave. Turning around, she began to make her way back down the mountain but her trip would be cut short when from the corner of her eye, she managed to spot a large wild hot spring. Long story short, the sight was impossible to resist.
In just a few minutes, Ricki had tightly tied her bag to a nearby boulder with her clothes just messily thrown on the top of it. Rather than the full-on nude she probably would’ve been in had it been her family’s hot springs at the Kageroo Inn, Ricki simply sported a black bra and underwear combo. She did drag a jacket with her for when she was getting out, but for the most part she was covered about as much as any swimsuit would do. Turning to start the walk out of the brush to the hot spring, Ricki had started to walk backwards towards the water with her eyes on her bag. Stepping into the hot spring’s clearing, it would be easy to immediately spot the young woman’s scarred back side. Burns, drag marks, slashes and so on made up the collection she had gathered over recent years, and had almost always been hidden under a couple of layers of shirts and hoodies. After making nearing the hot spring’s edge, a voice suddenly came out and Ricki jumped suddenly in surprise. It probably would have been a good idea to check if the spring was empty before just deciding to hop in in hindsight.
Turning around, Ricki’s eyes first locked down on the giant dark blue boulder… No, wait… Rick recognized that shape. Her head slowly rose to lock on the sight of Elinda Aspen at the other end of the spring with her head tilted to look back at man, younger than Ricki, who had managed to stumble upon the scene. Okay… Maybe if she just quietly backed away slowly, no one would notice her.

here were very few times in Jason's life that he had been speechless, three or four maybe, but he would have to add this moment to them. From the single word he muttered, a blue boulder's eye snapped open, revealing a crimson eye with an eerie glint of knowledge. Holy shit a Metagross. A fucking, Metagross. Jason thought to himself, unaware if the supercomputer like pokemon could hear his thoughts. He knew all too well how dangerous and hard to train those things were, yet, here was a middle age looking woman bathing with one. Then, surprising Jason even more, an Aggron sauntered over towards the spring. Annnnnd an Aggron. What the hell?! Another surprise interrupted his thoughts, and scared him, when what he assumed to be boulders suddenly began to float and Jason found himself staring at a Steelix. This woman had herself surrounded with three fully evolved steel pokemon capable of destroying the entire town of Lavaridge if they felt like it.
"Oh. Oh. Oh..." Was the only thing he could say. Three incredibly powerful pokemon, and apparently an incredibly skilled trainer, were relaxing in the hot spring he had been planning on claiming for himself. The woman, perhaps understanding how awkward it must be, simply waved. Jason was about to make a comment on what lay before him, try to break the ice somehow, when he noticed something moving behind the enormous steel snake. Something.. green. "Hey!" Jason shouted at the green haired person who appeared to be running away from the awkward scene. If he was going to be stuck in this situation, he wouldn't let someone else run off. Two people can get awkward very quickly, but three? Three is much easier to handle. Which is why Jason began to walk towards the green haired, noting the bra, girl.
Jason hadn't forgotten about the blonde woman, though. No no no, how could he? Her terrifying pokemon's eyes followed him as he walked towards the other girl. He'd talk to her, eventually, but not now. He needed some sort of ally to assist him in approaching that woman. She might become aggressive and send her pokemon on him, and he would need all the help he could get to battle them. Finally within speaking distance of the green haired girl, Jason smiled at her and said, "Hey, again, sorry about shouting at you, just wanted to get your attention. I'm Jason, by the way." He jerked his thumb backwards in the general area of the blonde woman and her pokemon, and asked, "You know that lady?"

Time to rock n' roll Time to lose control Time to rock n' roll Time to take control
....... the hell was that? Elinda had seen a lot of things during her years spent traveling, but this was probably one of the less expected ones. The kid was a trainer, right? He had to be if he was up here this deep in the mountains, so what was he spazzing out about? Not her Pokemon? Of all the things he could've possibly been afraid of.... well, his future was not a bright one if this was anything to go by. Taking a moment to glance back to the team members present, the veteran trainer quickly confirmed that they weren't even really doing anything worthy of such a response - Metagross was just sitting there and soaking, and Aggron and Steelix had done nothing more than look in his direction. What was he going to do if a wild Pokemon showed up and gave him trouble? Honestly, if Elinda didn't feel a certain amount of pity for the kid she probably would have found it more than a little funny, but how were you supposed to make something like this any less awkward than it already was? Laughing definitely wasn't going to help, at least not unless he had no sense of self esteem to begin with. So, without much else in terms of appropriate responses coming to mind Elinda simply continued to watch the kid, half expecting and half dreading to need to offer him a change of clothes in another few moments. She only had so many spare pairs of pants, the last thing she needed was to lose any.
Not that things would remain that way for long, though, as yet another person would find their way to the springs - exactly what the chances of that happening were, Elinda had no idea, but the familiar face definitely helped to shift attention away from the rookie about to wet his pants. Not that the middle aged woman was the first to notice, however, not by a long shot, with Steelix being the first to turn his massive head just enough to catch the third human with a dinner plate sized eye just as the male trainer took notice of her as well, and following that the oldest of the tree humans last. Metagross, his gaze following the male just long enough to catch a glimpse of the last human, essentially lost all interest. It wasn't anyone he hadn't seen before, and after pausing just long enough to explain who the green haired trainer was to Aggron after a curious glance from the other Steel type the Iron Leg Pokemon would simply settle back down into the water to continue soaking. Their trainer, however, was a different matter.
"RICKSTER!" Elinda shouted, resisting the urge to jump up to a standing position in the pool of water and instead resorting to skirting the water's edge as she approached the other trainers. It had been a long, long time since either of them had seen each other, not since Sevii, in fact, and if there was anything capable of catching the woman's attention it was friends and family - especially if the people in question blurred the line and could be considered both if liberally interpreted. This would make things infinitely easier, too - no reason to surprise Jane and bring on the associated risks of doing so if Elinda had an excuse to drop by right here and now, and more than that....
"How've you been? Not sure how long you were going to stay in Kanto for, nice to see you back home. What's new?" The older trainer asked, settling at the edge of the water and as close as she could get to the two trainers without actually leaving the spring. Pleasantries aside, though, she was genuinely interested for a number of reasons - first and foremost being that despite having battled on two separate occasions, neither of them had yet managed to beat the other yet, the battles either cut short or otherwise left unfinished for some reason or another. Not something that most trainers could claim to have managed, and Elinda would be lying if she said she wasn't interested in the kid's development. Every time that the two of them were placed at odds the older woman saw more and more of what had gotten the kid her old job, and given who her mother was...... Jane had never really been one for the trainer lifestyle, hell, she'd been terrified of the things as a kid from what Elinda could remember. Then again there always was the chance that it was a trait inherited from the other side of the family, but given how twitchy people got around that topic.... well, for the time being she didn't feel like poking a Beedrills' nest.

I have 749 words for ELINDA & JASON
By The Way; Sorry for the wait!
“Hey!”
Shit. Busted.
She had been so close, she was sure, but it was clear at this point she was going nowhere. In a vain attempt to get out of there though, the young woman took a few more steps slowly into the brush. Part of her sincerely hoped her green hair would help her blend in for once, but alas it seemed her hopes would be crushed as always. He kept coming and his eyes were locked right on her. All hope to get out while she could was lost and the realization was finally settling in. With a heavy sigh of reluctance, she accepted her fate begrudgingly and stopped backing away. Turning on her heels, she swung around to face the youngest of the trio of trainers present. Briefly catching his eyes swinging down to her bra, her first action was to tug on her jacket and cover her torso at least.
Upon his approach, Ricki was greeted with an apology for shouting, one that made her quirk a brow out of surprise. He was on the other side of the hot spring, what was he supposed to do, whisper loudly? It was obvious he had no idea what he just sucked her into as Ricki could already see from the corner of her eye Elinda moving to try and see just who it was the blonde, Jason, had sought refuge from. He introduced himself, and proceeded to make a gesture over to Elinda, inquiring if the two knew each other. Before Ricki could even begin to consider a response though –
“RICKSTER!”
The question was answered for her. Still, she sighed out a quiet “Unfortunately” to Jason and turned slightly to look toward the water as Elinda swiftly swam over. Despite her dread, Ricki honestly couldn’t say she disliked the older woman – in fact she admired her. It was right to assume that Elinda was a talented trainer and Ricki could vouch for it. The two had had a few battles against each other and almost every time Elinda came out on top minus the times of using an inexperienced Pokemon or a time limit cutting the fight short. She was sure the woman was itching for another go against her. For once, Ricki’s reluctance to battle Elinda wasn’t a factor of just being intimidated by her skills but more so she had a feeling the woman would catch onto the fact Ricki had hardly improved over the past several months. She was glad she’d worn out her team prior to approaching the hot spring, or she may have not had a legible excuse to deny any spars on the spot.
Immediately asking about how she was and if there was anything new to report, Ricki could think of a lot of things to say. Half of them she couldn’t say either because of a necessity for secrecy or because it would just be plain rude to say. Even if Elinda was a nosey woman, she hadn’t done anything yet to deserve a snarky attitude. Though it was rather clear Ricki was already a little irritated about the fact she got caught. Turning slightly to face both humans in her current company, Ricki would finally take note of Elinda’s Steelix hovering beside her, studying her with curiosity of course. That didn’t bug her as much as the sight of a Steelix. While this one in particular had done her no wrong, one in the past nearly crushed her for simply breathing his air. She had a bit of a right to not exactly enjoy the sight of another one.
Putting that aside relatively quickly though, she just gave a nod of acknowledgment to the Pokemon before finally shifted her focus back to the conversation. “I’m Ricki” she informed, and pointed over at Elinda. “That’s my… sorta-kinda aunt, Elinda” she tacked on, before crossing her arms over her chest. “Heh, had a few rough weeks a while back, but I’ve been doing better since I got back… And after the initial motherly rampage” she answered, glancing down at Elinda. She gave a shrug, a hand moving up in a sort of ‘well that’s just how it goes’ manner of acceptance. “Nothing new really though, just well… Being home” she explained, shrugging and turning her gaze over to Jason. She recalled his terrified look moments before courtesy to all over the powerful Pokemon they were surrounded by and tilted her head slightly.

T
he situation he found himself in was.. odd, to say the least. The green haired girl, Ricki, was apparently the niece of the powerful trainer, whose name was Elinda. Jason really hadn't thought something like possible, especially since the two looked nothing a like. One was a blonde, the other had green hair. Not that the green hair was bad, she looked really good actually. If Jason wasn't already in a.. Well, he wasn't really sure what he was in. Will and him had just made up, not that there was much to make up. They weren't ever anything exclusive, and they hadn't even argued. Will had just been busy with something, leaving Jason alone and miserable. Whenever Will had showed up again, Jason was on him like an angry Altaria protecting its young. Either way, Jason felt obliged to refrain from flirting. If anything serious was ever going to happen between him and Will, Jason would have to do his part and keep from seducing the female population of Hoenn.
"You not used to being around Pokemon?" The Ricki girl asked, pulling him out of his thoughts. "Huh? Oh, no. I actually grew up on a ranch, so I'm used to the company of Pokemon, but when random trainers have very powerful pokemon, I get a little nervous. You never know what kind of people they are, what kind of pokemon they've raised, or what their motives are." Jason said, answering her question. He then motioned to the spring and said, "Not only that, but look where we are! A secluded location, the nearest town an hour or more hike away. If that lady, Elinda you said?, wanted to harm me, she could have done so." Pulling his shirt over his head, revealing his great body, he grinned at Ricki and sat on the ground and began taking his socks and shoes off. "However, if she's your aunt, I doubt she'd want to hurt me with you around, so I'm going to take the chance to enjoy the springs!" Jason exclaimed, before dropping his bag and clothes on the floor next to the nearest pool of steaming water, and then lowering himself into it.

Time to rock n' roll Time to lose control Time to rock n' roll Time to take control
All's well that ends well, it would seem. Elinda had to admit, she would've been just as concerned about going back home had she been in Ricki's shoes - aside from being able to relate to the fact that she'd taken off at the age of eight herself and hadn't gone back home until she was almost nineteen and dating the guy she intended to marry, Jane added a whole new level of terror and complication to the mix. Bluntly put, Elinda's parents did not have the kind of temper Jane did, and reasonable as the woman was the green haired rage monster was she tended to have a habit of venting first and asking questions later. Considering the fact that Elinda had been fairly lenient with her kids and that at least one of them was actively avoiding her..... the woman could only imagine what Ricki's childhood must have been like. As for the other kid, though... not the sharpest tool in the shed, and that was putting it politely.
"Doesn't that kind of go for any trainer, though? There's no point in being nervous when you word it like that, by the logic you used there wouldn't have been much else save for pants shitting terror in your last moments. Not the way I'd want to go." Elinda said, watching the other trainer as he began moving to lower himself into the naturally heated pool of water. Typically speaking she generally had no problem with strangers - not by a long shot, if anything people usually had problems with her - but the earlier display was not something most would've considered flattering. Especially when, by the guy's own logic, he really had nothing to be concerned about to begin with, and Jason's entrance into the pool would mark Elinda's exit as she casually moved to pull herself out of the water to sit on the shore near Ricki. Staryu, however, could not have cared less, and as the Water type continued to simply float about randomly in the hot spring the rest of the Pokemon present would slowly go back to minding their own business of simply enjoying the warmth the steam gave off.
"So, Ricki - what was that business in Celadon about? From what I heard you got stuck in the hospital, but you seem fine now." Elinda queried, shifting a bit to settle in as she spoke, genuinely curious. It might have bugged Ricki that she was being kept track of, but after Snowpoint - and no, Elinda was never going to let that go - the older woman actually had an excuse for what others might have referred to as stalkerish tendencies. Then again, half the fun was in the reactions, but for once Elinda was admittedly in the dark - aside from a list of injuries and the days she was there, it had been a long time since she'd managed to hear anything substantial from the kid after the Sevii tournament. A mention here and there concerning her start up business, but it wasn't that which Elinda was concerned with - commercial and corporate crap never made for good news or interesting gossip, anyways.
