You have made it trainer. Yes, you have made it to the west entrance of Pinwheel Forest. The once lush, green, lavish haven for Pokemon and forest of exploration for trainers looks quite grim. Actually a fence is set up in front of the entrance to the not so flourishing forest. The gigantic trees have grayed and decayed. The earth is kinda mushy and the forest is dim. The fence has a sign that says 'construction ahead'. However, you know there is no construction going on since you have been called here by Maya. The fencing is nothing out of the ordinary, quite standard. Will you dive into the depths of this darkened forest? Or will you turn your head and cower away to leave this problem to be solved another day? A breeze wisps through the area as the sun still sits in the sky - unfortunately not reaching this decaying home.

t seemed like Jason had been the first to arrive at the entrance of the forest.. Pinwheel Forest, if he remembered correctly. Not like he should have it memorized or anything. This was actually the first time Jason had been to Unova and he was enjoying every minute of it. Jason and William had been in Rustboro when he got a call from some guy, err... What was his name... It doesn't really matter what his name was, in Jason's eyes. All he knew was that Will told him they were going to Unova, and he would be paying for it! Not only was Will nice, hot, and a good person, well as far as Jason could tell, he was also apparently loaded! Not that Jason was in need of money, his father's bank account was never dry and kept him living a luxurious life. Besides the fabulous hotel Will had gotten for them, although the beds were separate Jason would be fixing that when he got a chance, Jason also got a chance to explore the region a little while they made their way to the forest, and once again, he got to spend more time with Will.
Jason's reminiscing over the past couple days was cut short when the smell of decomposition hit him in the face. He put his sleeve over his mouth and looked at was supposed to be the entrance to a beautiful forest. It was dark, ugly, and stinking of something dead. He sighed, remembering that Will did mention it wouldn't be a normal stroll through the forest. By not normal, Jason assumed he meant a surprise picnic or some other cute surprise, Will seemed like the kind of guy to do that. Or even going out to capture some exotic Pokemon. But this? This was completely odd. Jason had been to forest before, hell he had lived near one the majority of his life, and no forest was just.. dead, like this.
Still holding his sleeve over his nose, Jason sat down outside of the locked fence entrance, not wanting to enter alone. This was some odd stuff, something out of the stories Jasmine had told him as a child.. If he was going to do something about this forest, he was going to do it with Will.
Distasteful. It was a sound tactic in one regard to take energy from the forest, it was life energy that found a way of restoring itself. But the hollow husk of a forest it would leave behind would disrupt the region itself... If he were in charge, this operation would be scrapped for many reasons. Such an act was too barbaric, leaving a stain on the name of the culprit not only for destroying the forest, but also for leaving the many Pokemon that inhabited this forest suddenly homeless.
All in all, he graded this a less than worthy plot for even a lowly bandit leader. Whoever had done this was desparate. Desparate in the wrong ways, to have amassed the tech required for such an event. Though it wasn't a primary focus, if he was seen aiding in the defeat of the culprit, it would lead to his image taking on a reputation, likely a good one, something he particularly needed for the Saber image, as mysterious as his ensemble was. Though currently he had not yet donned the mask, but there was no risk of his identity being discovered.
With contact lenses came the ability to hide ones eye color, especially when one was a deep purple while the other a striking red, though the red one was not technically a true contact lens, but an interface that combined with the Saber mask. It allowed easier uilization of the masks visual capabilities, which were particularly helpful due to the masks one-way tinting leaving a slight dark tint on the inside. His hair was a dark mess of locks, unkempt, as the mask often left it when removed, while a black cloth covered his nose and mouth.
"Disgusting. They're draining the forest energy to use as their own energy source." He walked up, a few feet to Jason's left, keeping an eye on the other. Apparently this man had taken notice of the cry for help as well. With a flick of his wrist, a pokeball appeared in his hand, enlarged, and after another flick it was in the air, releasing his Lucario, Dao. The blue Pokemon stood before him, kneeling. With that, Saber pulled up his mask and placed it on his face, the mechanism expanding to encase his head and activating, the vocoder turning on to distort his voice. "Dao, try to locate anything still alive in the forest."
The Lucario stood up and turned around, facing into the forest and closing his eyes. Though his eyes were closed, he was still able to see via a Lucario's signature power, Aura. But this particular Lucario was inexperienced with it's use, and was unable to turn up anything. Shaking his head, he turned back to look up at his trainer with a curious glance. Saber had glanced over at Jason. "the quickest way to fix the problem is by eliminating the cause. We need to find the ones behind this and stop who or whatever is doing this."
Arriving to the scene, the Golden Knight could tell this was much worse than he thought it would be. When he had first been given the command to interrupt the current, Hoenn-based mission to instead operate on an emergency mission based in Unova, he thought it would be something based around defending the Castelia warehouse, or something along those lines. His face, a normally smiling beacon, was turned into a serious line, as his golden eyes scanned over the treeline. Jason was at his side, as they approached the western entrance. Truly, truly despicable.
How dare they?! The vile, loathsome people who must have put this ploy into action, hurting the forest so! Did they not think of the dangers, of the damage that they did to the ecosystem, to the environment, to the poor Pokemon living in the forest? Were they so inconsiderate to deface the world they live in, so crude and base that they had no regards for the people whose homes and livelihoods depended on these forests? It was for a moment that William felt a surge of happiness at the fact that Steinhart was stepping in to fix this issue. It was things like these, where the League was too busy fixing other issues, that normal people needed to step in to make right of the wrongs. It was in these kinds of things that Steinhart was needed.
He ignored the smell of putrefied plant matter as he approached Saber, stepping over the fence with little care for the barrier. As the man approached them, William felt a... familiar sense about this man. Yet the outfit was off. Oh well.
"Curses... Sir Jason, I apologize, this is worse than I thought. I aimed to simply protect the forests from some vile criminals, but it seems that instead the task is to save the forests." Said the Golden Knight to his companion. "I do hope that this emergency is not too much of a hassle for you."
The other man pulled out a Lucario and commanded some form Aura sensing. Still, he felt that familiarity... That voice... Aha! Now, what was that name he had asked to call him? After all, the commandant of Steinhart had asked not to be called by his real name.
"Sir Saber? What fortuitous occasion!" Exclaimed the Golden Knight, the ghosts of a smile reaching his face. He turned to Jason, explaining "Sir Jason, this is Sir Saber, Commander of Steinhart, a group whose goal is to put a stop to the criminal and detestable groups of the world, such as Rocket or Plasma - a group of which I am a member. He was the one who called me forth to give aid in the protection of the forest." With that, he turned to Saber, signaling to Jason. "Sir Saber, this is Sir Jason Royde, a travelling companion of mine and able Trainer whom I believe will be of help in the following struggle."
William had to admit, he felt somewhat happy to be able to bring comradeship and new connections to the board. From his belt holster, he picked out a Poke Ball and opened it, releasing the Pokemon inside. With a flash of light, Boo, William's Gengar, appeared amid the group, smiling and nodding to each of the people and Lucario in greeting. The Ghost-Type readily floated to William's side, and phased into the floor. The Golden Knight knew Boo would be moving along with the group, simply out of sight, ready to jump in at a moment's notice.
You find nothing for there is nothing to find right now. The fence rattles as a quick breeze passes through. The fence is only seven feet tall - an easy clear by climbing over or just breaking through. That is the first thing you need to do however - get pass the fence. Now that you have arrived, you have been recorded. Oh yes! Ten meters ahead there is a floating sentinel being recording your every action. The robot is floating on a branch in a tree. His body is quite masked by the foliage of the branches. Although the sharp eye may catch glimpse of the suspicious being. But, after crossing the fence successfully what will you do? Will you travel ahead? Or will you take a different route? There is no out of the ordinary happenings, except for the sporadic sounds and creak of the decaying forest, which you are here to save.
GM (Game Master) NOTES -- get over the fence -- ten meters straight is the robot ; you do have the freedom to go left or right as well (please specify in post which direction you will go)
he newcomer was an odd looking man, to say the least. He had some kind of mask that covered his face and odd colored contacts. Maybe if he took some of that off he'd look better. Before Jason could think of any other things that would improve the man's look, he walked up, a few yards away from Jason, and said, "Disgusting. They're draining the forest energy to use as their own energy source." "Huh, so that's what going on here..." Jason thought. How is that happening though? To his knowledge, there was no way to suck the life force, or aura as some called it, out of living things. Not many people, or pokemon for that matter, were capable of using or seeing the aura. Jason knew of only one species, the Lucario, that were able to. Even they were not know for that ability, but their amazing physical prowess.
His musings were cut short as William entered the area, stunning as always. Jason smiled as Will approached him and stood up, dusting his pants off. Will hopped the fence, giving Jason a great view of the.. Um... Fence, and Jason quickly followed. As Jason descended from the fence, it was high but not too much trouble, and landed next to Will. He had a scowl on his face as he said, "Curses... Sir Jason, I apologize, this is worse than I thought. I aimed to simply protect the forests from some vile criminals, but it seems that instead the task is to save the forests." He looked more concerned when he added, "I do hope that this emergency is not too much of a hassle for you."
Jason placed a hand on Will's arm, and said with a smile, "We're adventuring together, remember? Your journey is my journey. I'm sure we can handle anything this death ridden forest throws at us." At that moment, the other man produced a pokeball, seemingly from thin air, and tossed it in the air. Out from the sphere came a Lucario. "That must be how he knew about the energy deprivation of the forest." Jason observed as the man asked his Lucario to search for anything alive. Will, however, seemed to know the man. He practically shouted, "Sir Saber? What fortuitous occasion!" Will turned to Jason and quickly introduced the man. "Sir Jason, this is Sir Saber, Commander of Steinhart, a group whose goal is to put a stop to the criminal and detestable groups of the world, such as Rocket or Plasma - a group of which I am a member. He was the one who called me forth to give aid in the protection of the forest." He then returned his attention to the Saber person and introduced Jason. "Sir Saber, this is Sir Jason Royde, a traveling companion of mine and able Trainer whom I believe will be of help in the following struggle."
"And that is why we're here. My knight in shining armor truly is a hero." Jason thought with a sly smile appearing on his face. Will didn't seem to notice as he released his Gengar. Not wanting to be the only one with out a pokemon, and thinking his Ghost type could learn something from the fully evolved pokemon, Jason pulled a pokeball out from his pocket. "Duss?" Sebastian the Duskull asked his trainer. Why were they in such a death filled place? Not that Sebastian was complaining, he enjoyed the smell and chance of hunting for food. It was also nice to be away from the city, where the Human made machines kept the dark away. "Sebastian, stay with the Gengar and alert me if anything is around." Jason told Sebastian. As the Duskull phased into the ground, Jason added under his breath, "We don't want any surprises.."
This day would be full of them, unknown to Jason. With his pokemon scouting and following the other ghost pokemon, Jason walked into the dead forest a couple feet, ignoring the putrid smell of death. It's not like he really knew where to go, and he had never been to Unova himself, so he just walked straight ahead, pulling a pokeball from his pocket, holding it in case of an attack. Jason didn't go far, though, not wandering out of the sight of his companions. "Will or his leader can decide where to go.. I've never been one for venturing into dead forest lost and unaware of my surroundings." Jason thought.
"Sir Saber? What fortuitous occasion! Sir Jason, this is Sir Saber, Commander of Steinhart, a group whose goal is to put a stop to the criminal and detestable groups of the world, such as Rocket or Plasma - a group of which I am a member. He was the one who called me forth to give aid in the protection of the forest. Sir Saber, this is Sir Jason Royde, a travelling companion of mine and able Trainer whom I believe will be of help in the following struggle."
He gave a small nod to each of them, noting the blond man's sly grin. It could be seen as suspicious, but he knew that Will wasn't a fool, and the fact that William trusted this man meant at least something for the man. Discarding the though, he brought his gaze to the fence, as did his Lucario. With a start, Dao made it over the fence in one bound, turning to wait for his trainer. Saber walked over to the tall fence, grabbing onto the chain-links and climbing up and over, dropping down to the other side. Once the other two were over, he would turn to them. "If the enemy expects this plan to work, they would be expecting someone to notice and intervene. Be wary of anything that doesn't belong..."
In truth, he was already having that strange feeling... like someone or something was watching him. The feeling persisted even while he could see nothing around them, besides dead foliage and trees. Despicable... This place used to be full of life... Thanks to the falling of dead leaves, sunlight was piercing through numerous openings in the treeline, casting a strange light on the forest. "Let's get moving. The longer we wait, the more of the forest is murdered." Distaste could be easily detected in his voice, but not severely.
A soft smile of friendship swept over William's face as Jason's reassurement of friendship and trust reached him. It was truly a wonderful thing to have friends again - lately, it seemed he only had acquaintances among humans, his only friends being found in Pokemon or old memories. It was nice to have a close friend once more, someone to throw oneself in front of a bullet for, someone to stay up all night for, someone to care for and to spend time with. It was beyond nice. This was the kind of emotion the Golden Knight lived for... Or, rather, the kind of emotion which was a direct opposite to one emotion which he sought to keep from ever feeling once more. He shuddered to himself, if only slightly... Never ever be that lonely ever again.
As they began to delve deeper into the ghost of what once was a mighty forest, he felt a steely surge of disbelief. Every time, the smell got worse, the sight more terrible. He was already calming down on the front of "how dare they" and "they will pay." The question which he had in mind was: what machination could possibly destroy the forest so? Even fueled by the power of a mighty Pokemon, what kind of thing had the ability to spread itself like such?
"If the enemy expects this plan to work, they would be expecting someone to notice and intervene. Be wary of anything that doesn't belong..." William simply nodded. He had expected opposition, one way or the other, and one way or the other, he would find it.
As they walked, they reached a fork in the road, William's eyes continuosly open in search of anything suspicious. But it was not him that had found the machine. From the shadows, William's Gengar, Boo, rose, pointing at something in the dead foliage. Verily had the Ghost-Type noticed that something that shouldn't be there was casting a shadow that shouldn't be there, as Gengars are sensitive to that kind of thing. The Ghost Pokemon rose from the ground next to William and took his Trainer's attention, pointing.
"Gengar, Gen Gen!"
"Is there something, Boo? Are we being watched?" Said the Ex-Coordinator with steely eyes, finally seeing something among the foliage. Carefully, he approached the machine and heaved some of the foliage and above, now visible in the gap between the plants, was some sort of machinery, stationed on a branch. To be honest, William had no idea what it was, but he knew it wasn't meant to be there. Glaring at the machine, he informed the others, specifically the commanding officer.
"Sir Saber, I do believe that you should see this... It is some form of machination, though I cannot begin to decipher what it is. Perhaps some guard, or a sentinel of sorts? Or part of the machinery that is damaging the forest so?" As he spoke, the Golden Knight's Gengar stood at his side, now more ready and prepared. If something happened, Boo would act on a moment's notice.
"Carefully, he approached the machine and heaved some of the foliage and above, now visible in the gap between the plants, was some sort of machinery, stationed on a branch. To be honest, William had no idea what it was, but he knew it wasn't meant to be there. Glaring at the machine, he informed the others, specifically the commanding officer."
The foreign object William approached remained normal. It simply floated up and down as it held the pulsing orb between its supposed ligaments. A small door opened, silently of course, and like spraying perfume particles were released into the air. William being the closest investigative one would immediately catch a whiff of the sweet smell. It was a concentrated Stun Spore that would take effect immediately. A breeze fluttered through the branches as the robot turned and looked towards the other two intruders. Yes it was all falling into place beautifully. Now let the games - begin.
GM (Game Master) NOTES -- William assuming you were heaving foliage and are close enough to see the robot I am placing you within two meters of the robot and you will be hit the the Stun Powder ; be slightly more descriptive of your exact location -- Stun Effects will take effect at the beginning of William Rosenbach post -- Nothing happened to Jason or Sable since you guys just crossed the fence -- Stun is very curable - use whatever methods you see fit - don't be stunned too long could be permanent ! -- Doing good though guys

othing appeared to be alive in the shell of the mighty forest, no matter how far into the forest the small group went. Jason had been a ways off from the fork in the path, waiting for the others to catch up, inspecting the dead foliage. Surely there would be some kind of clue as to why this was happening hidden among the dead vegetation, or at the very least, a chance for Jason to mourn for the death of the forest in silence and away from the others.
It had been a long time since Sebastian had been able to freely roam around without having to worry about scaring Humans, not that he didn't enjoy it, but Trainer often scolded him for doing so. Just recently, the pair had been training at one of the Human healing centers and Trainer had been called off for some reason, leaving him alone and to do as he pleased. With the vitality only something dead can have, Sebastian had sunk into the shadows searching for a victim, which he found, and then proceeded to scare the daylights out of a young girl; resulting in a heavy fine for Trainer. Sebastian chuckled at the memory, proud of the scare. Yet, he had a job to do. Accompany the older one in surveying the area. He was also to alert Trainer of any surprises..
From the shadows he resided in, Sebastian caught sight of the golden Human approach some kind of bush. As the gilded Human removed branches and stems from the bush, a metallic box thing of sorts. It made odd whirring noises as the glistening Human turned and spoke to the odd looking human, saying, "Sir Saber, I do believe that you should see this... It is some form of machination, though I cannot begin to decipher what it is. Perhaps some guard, or a sentinel of sorts? Or part of the machinery that is damaging the forest so?" At the same time, the older phantom rose from the shadows and stood beside his master, ready to guard him from anything. While the Human was turned, the mechanical being spouted spores into the air that surrounded him and the ghost, stunning them.
This was indeed a surprise! Diving deeper into the shadow he resided in, Sebastian surfaced near his Trainer, ignoring the tears that fell from him. "Dusk!" he shrieked, pointing towards his stunned companions. Jason wiped the tears off his face and looked to where his pokemon pointed, confused as to what was going on. However, when he saw William standing there, paralyzed, he nearly screamed. "Will!" he yelled, running towards him, frantically pulling items out of his backpack in order to find some sort of remedy. When he arrived, Jason dumped the contents of his bag on the ground and began combing through them for the right medicine, completely unaware of the machine that watched him.
"Sir Saber, I do believe that you should see this... It is some form of machination, though I cannot begin to decipher what it is. Perhaps some guard, or a sentinel of sorts? Or part of the machinery that is damaging the forest so?"
But as he spoke, the machine seemed to react and spew out some kind of powder onto William. Saber grunted in surprise, but remained calm, waiting for Jason to move before taking action. "Will!
As Jason ran to Will's side, however, the machine continued to react, Jason seemingly unaware of it's presence. "Silence that thing, Dao!" Saber already had another pokeball in his hand, preparing something else in case the powder was what he thought it would be. Dao, on the other hand, was already moving in, jumping up for a clear shot over either teammate, charging an Aura Sphere and splitting it into two orbs, both of which he launched in curved arcs at the strange machine, intent to destroy it or at the least knock it from it's perch.
There was the possibility that it served as a security camera as well, causing Saber to glance around his surroundings. The dead forest wouldn't provide much in way of coverage for approaching enemies, making his view that much more clear.
Think I might have broke the toy, lol. Saber moved forward a little while Lucario rushed straight in with a modified Aura Sphere designed for impact force. The pokeball he's holding is Gallade.
