tepping into the Pokemon Center, Jason sighed. Traveling through the Littleroot Woods was exhausting, especially since he had an injured Pokemon on hand. Once he escaped that challenge of his sanity, he stopped in Odale Town, a small town that surprised him by having a Pokemon Center. Jason quickly healed his Pokemon and skipped Petalburg, not wanting his father or any of his father's friends to see him. Doing so forced him into the forest surrounding Petalburg, Petalburg Woods, and causing him to lose a few days to travel. He left the forest in a state of frustration, hunger, and dehydration. The battles he had to endure to make it to Rustboro did not help his attitude or his Pokemon's condition.
Jason handed his pokeballs off to the nurse and kept his new egg with him, not wanting it to come in harm's way. The nurse, Joy as it would seem, informed him that his Pokemon would take a few hours to heal and recover fully. Unsure of what to do, he sat himself in a a chair, placed the incubated egg in his lap, and searched through his PokeNav for anyone he knew in Rustboro, eyeing the other trainers as they walked in.
It had been a great day by the lakes - his Pokemon had gotten a very nice swim, and he had met a nice lady who happened to use Salamances on Feebases. Aquaria had really been shocked at that one. Nonetheless, she was a nice lady, only trying to capture herself the Feebas. But he was tired, and his Pokemon were tired - they had trekked through the forest and through the lakes to get to the city. The Golden Knight stepped into the Pokemon Center with a smile, his golden eyes somewhat tired, but certainly still happy. Stepping to the front desk, he handed his Pokemon to the Nurse, who smiled.
"Your Pokemon will be ready in a few hours, honey - we have food and boarding if you need it."
"My thanks, Nurse Joy. I think I shall take the food offer." Replied William, getting himself a tray by the cafeteria and some refreshments. A nice bowl of pasta (his favorite), some Coke - it seemed like a successful day. Looking around the tables, the Golden Knight spotted an open seat in front of another man, who was checking his PokeNav. Hopefully, he wouldn't mind. Walking up to the table, William asked:
"Excuse me, Sir, may I sit here? Most other tables are taken." As the Golden Knight began, he noticed this man was somewhat... tired-looking. He seemed hungry, and stressed, as if he had just undergone some trials. Perhaps William would be able to slightly brighten his day.

ason looked up from his PokeNav to the man who had asked to sit, his face glowing a pale blue from the screen, making the bags under his eyes stand out. He gave him a quick look over, admiring his body. The man, Jason had to admit, was handsome. Very handsome. With a warm smile, Jason nodded at the other man and made an attempt to make himself more presentable: sitting up straighter, wiping his eyes in an attempt to wake himself up more, and running a hand through his hair.
"I'm Jason, by the way..." He said, looking at the man, into his eyes. "Wow..." Jason thought, "His eyes are like golden disk. Just.. stunning." A few moments later, Jason composed himself, flashed the man a smile and a wink, and said, "Looking into someone's eyes can say a lot.. About their life... Soul.. But what yours have failed to tell me is your name." And at that moment, his stomach let out a horrific rumble, causing shades of red to creep up his neck.
"Excuse me... I haven't really had much to eat.. I'll be right back!" Jason said as he quickly hurried off towards the food. He mumbled to himself as he put together his plate, grabbing some pasta and a glass of water. He sat back down at the table and watched the other man, looking for some kind of reaction.
Oh, glorious benefaction, he was not a bother to the man. Perhaps he could maintain himself a positive force if he watched where he stepped. The Golden Knight had a bad habit, according to some people, of becoming, as they called, annoying. Overbearing, they had said - that he tried too hard. He tried to mind himself in very public areas, to seem a bit more controlled and civilized. He was still very pleased, however, when the man smiled warmly as he did. It seemed like an honest smile, a friendly smile. Oh, how William loved the concept of a new friend - he did not know the man's name, yet he was already picturing him as a possible friend. The other seemed to try to make himself presentable as William sat down, combing his hair with his hand.
"I'm Jason, by the way... Looking into someone's eyes can say a lot.. About their life... Soul.. But what yours have failed to tell me is your name." William blinked, somewhat surprised at the poetic outburst. He was about to answer with his name, but a very familiar rumble of hunger was audible. The man's face went a deep red as he excused himself to get some food. The Golden Knight sat there before chuckling softly to himself, amusement replacing his previously tired features. Already the meal was taking effect, pushing away his previous weariness and replacing it with new energy. Well, the food and the possibility of a new friend. Nothing excited the Golden Knight like friendship.
As the other man came back and sat down, the Golden Knight looked back at him, golden eyes amused. "I have to say I agree with you, Sir Jason - the eyes of another are portals, nay, pools into the soul of an individual. A very interesting topic of conversation, non?" He said, extending a hand over the table. "My name is William Rosenbach, Sirrah - a pleasure to make your acquaintance." William smiled again, friendly, filled with a simple happiness at sharing a meal with someone. How nice a feeling. Leave it to William to not detect flirting. At all.

is face fell flat as the other man began to talk about eyes, souls, and other things that were not the result he had been hoping for. Could one of his legendary pick up lines really not work? Had his charm really deteriorated so much just from the few weeks out as a Trainer? Did the elements really cause so much weather to his chiseled and great features? Was he nothing more than... average?! The depressing and negative thoughts were soon put to rest when the other man extended his hand over the table and said with a cute smile, "My name is William Rosenbach, Sirrah - a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Physical contact is a sign of attraction, or at least that's what Jason had always thought. He accepted the man's, William's, handshake and, while his hand was in Jason's, he allowed his thumb to rub over William's knuckles as he said, "The pleasure is mine, William." This was followed by one of his stellar, or at least what had been stellar, smiles. However, as quickly as the motion began, it ended. Jason felt that, not matter what, you always left them wanting more, which is what he meant to do by ending that skin to skin contact.
"So, what brings you to Rustboro, babe?" Jason said before he took a sip of water from the glass. "The trade? The Gym? Maybe the trainer school?" He continued, looking at him for answers. "Or, maybe.. the sights?" Jason added with a wink.
The man's handshake was a firm handshake - well-practiced, nearly. It reminded, him, somewhat, of the handshake he had been trained and practiced to perform during his childhood. It was something he did out of reflex. He needed not to think about way he would hold his hand, firm yet not too tight. Or the fact that he should not spread his fingers, but instead keep them warmly around the other person's hand, to keep the person comfortable. The man, Jason, swiped his thumb over William's knuckle, which he found interesting (perhaps something specific of the area, or a new fad going around? The man seemed hip, young and well-versed), but it did not disturb him. As quickly as the man shook his hand, however, he finished.
The man had smiled - the smile seemed sincere, honest, stunning in reality. The Golden Knight only smiled in return, taking the second to look over his table comrade. Not bad looking. William might be focused on friendship, but he wasn't blind. In fact, not bad looking at all. He would make a fine Coordinator.
"So, what brings you to Rustboro, babe? The trade? The Gym? Maybe the trainer school? Or, maybe.. the sights?" Said Jason, with a wink. William only smiled, friendly and kind, as he responded.
"While the sights have been quite enthralling, Sir Jason, and the Gym is a stop I will visit, my main focus for my adventure is the search for new friends. I hope to make new friends as I explore the world, forming bonds with people as I become a stronger Trainer. How about yourself, Sirrah?"

O
nce again his charm failed him. How could this happen again?! Why was his wonderful and amazing appearance not causing this man to swoon for his flirtatious antics?! Jason kept his smile up and his face the same, but inside, he was beginning to question himself. Had he truly changed so much in this one month to become.. ugly?! Or, maybe, hopefully, this man was just immune to his suave and subtle techniques. However, if that was true, why? What made him different from the others that had become prey to Jason's charm. How was William any different?
William's voice broke Jason's inner argument with himself and brought him back to the cruel reality that was before him. The golden man, not because of his attractiveness, it's there, but not for that reason, because he wears gold clothes, said, "While the sights have been quite enthralling, Sir Jason, and the Gym is a stop I will visit, my main focus for my adventure is the search for new friends. I hope to make new friends as I explore the world, forming bonds with people as I become a stronger Trainer. How about yourself, Sirrah?"
Jason couldn't help the sigh that escaped his lips as William talked of forming bonds and making new friends. That's what he craved, what he needed, even if he would deny it. The man's, William's, search for friends was something Jason would be very pleased to join. He could see it, the two of them, meeting new people together... As lovers or friends. He returned his gaze to William and gave him a half smile, now actually trying to get to know him, not just get into his pants. "I'm here because my pokemon are injured and afterwards, I was hoping to test their strength at the gym. I'm a new trainer and I haven't been in too many battles, but I think they're ready for something like that." Jason tried to think of something more to say, something to give him more time to think of a better pick up line, until he finally mumbled, "Screw it.." Taking a deep breath, and trying to force the red that he knew was creeping up his face down, he said, "Do you want to go out for a walk? Or maybe for some coffee? I'd really like to spend more time with you." He waited, holding his breath, because Arceus knows Jason has no experience with relationships.

NOTES
This better be obvious enough or else Jason is going to cry.
"I'm here because my Pokemon are injured and afterwards, I was hoping to test their strength at the gym. I'm a new Trainer and I haven't been in too many battles, but I think they're ready for something like that."
Ah, so he was a Trainer too. Funny, the Golden Knight would have pictured him more of the Coordinating sort. William had to say, it was nice to meet another travelling Trainer, simply seeking to become stronger or make new friends, as he was. It seemed lately that everyone was obsessed with reaching specific positions, or doing specific things. He thought nothing bad of these things - in fact, having goals was something that William could applaud. But he'd already accomplished some of his goals, and thus he sought more calm adventuring. Even now that he had joined Steinhart, that he was fighting evil as he went, his mission command was to explore the Hoenn region and become stronger, to safeguard his old home region from any surging harm.
William's golden eyes pried something from Jason - he seemed... flustered? Nervous? A bit of a blush was surging up slightly, coloring his skin a faint shade of pink. Had he said something wrong? Had William done something? Perhaps he was being overly forceful again. He went over his conversation in his head - no hint of him pushing.
Jason mumbled something, before speaking to him, blue eyes boring into William's gold ones. Do you want to go out for a walk? Or maybe for some coffee? I'd really like to spend more time with you."
Ah, so he was interested in friendship! Success, brilliant success! The Golden Knight did noticed the undertone in the words. The connotations that they carried - was Jason interested in William in ways more than simply being friends? Strange. The Golden Knight had never really given any thought to that field of human relationships. Or perhaps he was reading too much into it? Only one way to find out.
William's face split into the largest smile yet, his eyes beaming with joy. He nodded. "Why, Sir Jason, I would love to have your company, whether you desire coffee or a walk. In truth, if I may be honest, it has been somewhat lonely, travelling alone with only my Pokemon for company. So yes, I would love to spend some time with you." He said. He was about to continue, but he caught himself... Was it asking too much? Again, if he didn't try, he'd never find out.
"Actually... Speaking of adventuring, we both seem to be travelling, challenging gyms and the like. Perhaps it would be in our interest to travel together? I do apologize if I seem forward, Sir Jason."

he breath he had been holding was released when William's face broke into a beautiful grin. Finally.. Finally, his charm had worked. His smile, eyes, body, or whatever had finally gotten him the answer he wanted. This was what he wanted, this was what he needed, this was what should have happened in the beginning. Jason simply smiled and watched William as he said, "Why, Sir Jason, I would love to have your company, whether you desire coffee or a walk. In truth, if I may be honest, it has been somewhat lonely, travelling alone with only my Pokemon for company. So yes, I would love to spend some time with you."
This is.. great! Grand! Wonderful! All of the synonyms for good that Jason never bothered to memorize. He was delighted to be going on a dat- He was going on a date. He, Jason, the King of One Nighters, the Prince of Parties, the Royal Bed Ruiner; The seventeen year old who had never been on a date. How would he act? How were you supposed to act? What if he was too pushy? Or rude?! Jason began to doubt himself, notion about cancelling the date when he realized something.. William had said "love". Twice. Sure, it might be a synonym for like or enjoy, but he had used that word specifically. Maybe it was a subconcious thing, but it was still there. He had said it. Or maybe Jason was thinking about things too hard.
As he was going to make a comment on his use of the word love, William continued talking, saying, "Actually... Speaking of adventuring, we both seem to be travelling, challenging gyms and the like. Perhaps it would be in our interest to travel together? I do apologize if I seem forward, Sir Jason." Jason's heart skipped a beat. Someone wanted, well everyone wants to, but someone actually projected this want to spend time with him, and it was someone as handsome as William! How could this day get any better? A dazzling grin, a real one this time, popped onto Jason's face as he said, "You're not being forward at all, William. I would love to travel with you."
"You're not being forward at all, William. I would love to travel with you."
"Delightful, delightful!" Exclaimed the Golden Knight, thrilled by the concept of having a travelling partner. He hadn't had a friend to travel with ever since... well, years. It had been so long since he's spent a prolonged amount of time with a person, and even more so as a travelling partner. Hadn't he desired some form of protege, someone to help train and teach along his journey? And Ba'ul would be so thrilled to meet new friends, new Pokemon! Oh, Jason would love to meet his team, his old friends, his current family.
So why did William feel like he was missing something? Was he reading far too deeply into this, as he seemingly did often? Or perhaps he was willingly ignoring something? No, no, it was not the time, nor event, nor situation to be bothering his mind over this. Time would reveal the answers to his inquiries, or so he hoped.
"I cannot begin to express how thrilled I am to have a travelling companion hence, Sir Jason - truly, I must thank you for your trust and friendship." Said William, his smile never once leaving. "Now, I have set up camp presently by the lakes outside the city, about 10 minutes hence. I do own a spare tent - would you prefer we meet tomorrow at some other time, and you go on your way, or would you prefer sleeping in my camp? I do believe my Pokemon would be jubilant to become your acquaintances, as well as your Pokemon's."
hat a lucky man Jason was. He was going to be journeying with an incredibly handsome man who was also incredibly kind. These kind of things just didn't happen on a daily basis. Like, it was a once in a life time chance! A chance that Jason had snatched up in a hurry. Where would they be going? What kind of things would Jason learn from William? From where they were? What new pokemon would he encounter? Actually, how experienced was William? Jason never really got the chance to ask.. He'd do it next time they were together.
"Delightful, delightful! I cannot begin to express how thrilled I am to have a travelling companion hence, Sir Jason - truly, I must thank you for your trust and friendship." The golden gilded man, William, exclaimed. He was as happy about their new found arrangement as Jason was. Jason thought, "Maybe he actually likes me and is just playing dumb to be cute! If that's the case, well, he's going to make a very happy person." Jason's fantasies continued to grow, exploring depths of his mind he was scared to think about. Such as, the thought, the idea, the notion of Will being his boyfriend. It was a horrifying, yet enthralling, thought. A boyfriend.. Someone to cuddle against and love on, someone to kiss and not just... you know. Someone to call his.
William, oblivious to Jason's thoughts, continued on, saying, "Now, I have set up camp presently by the lakes outside the city, about 10 minutes hence. I do own a spare tent - would you prefer we meet tomorrow at some other time, and you go on your way, or would you prefer sleeping in my camp? I do believe my Pokemon would be jubilant to become your acquaintances, as well as your Pokemon's." Well then, things were escalating quickly. Already inviting him over to his place, huh. It was a little different, considering it was a tent and not an apartment, but still. Will was inviting Jason over to where he slept. A sly smile crept up his face and he said, "Why, I'd be happy to camp out with you! Since we're going to be out traveling the world, I might as well get used to sleeping camping with you. Plus, my pokemon would benefit from making more friends. The more the merrier, right?"
