The night was heavy with fog, the streets that were busy at one point with the inhabitants of this town were now empty with only the silence of the night to carry on, standing with a light thud on the ground when the sole of his boots touched the ground a man with a long black cloak found himself arriving at the entrance of a massive radio tower. From beneath his hood a pair of stunning crimson eyes would lurk up from the entrance, focusing directly on the very top of the tower it was almost as if he could feel them the cries of the ones who haunted the tower itself. Closing his eyes for a moment the man would remain silent as he allowed the ambience of the surrounding to overtake him, enveloped in the thick fog until he would open his eyes, just then from the very top of the tower a bird was circling down the floors until landing gracefully upon the ground its talons tapping the ground lightly. Bunji’s eyes now focused upon his own Xatu, the Pokemon would stand upright staring directly at the human that was his trainer, and the man would raise his Pokeball belonging to the respective Pokemon a red beam soon shooting towards it absorbing the Pokemon back into his sphere.
With that the man remained silent once more allowing the dark silence to settle around him the man would have loved to enter the tower, and get this mission underway but he was not tackling this assignment alone he once again found himself relying on his former flame as his partner to watch his back. It seemed as of late he was finding himself partnered up with her a lot in the past, the man would recall in this moment of silence all the missions they had undertaken over the past few days. He had to admit to himself that over time he had grown quite fond of her company, despite how complicated things were between them he had to admit that he had learned to enjoy Izumi’s company once more, for what reason he did not know. Perhaps it was the link she had to his past, or perhaps it was the fact that she reminded him of a time in his life when he was not….this thing that he now was, in his moment alone the man would actually exhale a low sigh as he felt a sense of regret overwhelm him making him feel somewhat bad for the hardships the girl put herself through over him.
{Mission Details} Name: Pet Cemetery Taken By: Catching: Yes (Gastly) Members: 1-3 Rewards: 10 PD SB Description: With the construction of the Kanto Radio Tower years before, the Kanto region has been made all that much smaller with the free and easy exchange of ideas and dialogue – as many of Lavender Town’s residents have feared, however, the Pokemon that had been lain to rest inside of Pokemon Tower where the station now stands weren't so happy, and have returned to wreak havoc within the Tower. Unable to deal with the problem themselves, the Radio Tower’s Director has placed an open ad asking for any capable trainers to help rid the Tower of its new – or rather, old – tenants. Notes: There's 4 floors to the Radio Tower and a mix of Gastly, Haunter and Gengar

Wondering just why he decided to take on one of the haunted missions, she could only sigh as she made her way to the haunted town, Lavender. Shivering ever-so-slightly as she zipped up her windbreaker jacket, she let her shoes scuffle across the ground as she quickened her pace, heading over to the assigned meeting place. Why they were called to exterminate these “ghosts long gone” was beyond her—and since she already had a Gastly, why would she bother—but all the same she decided to tag along for the ride. In reality, she had another motive in mind…she was going to ask him about this fellow named Tsurugi.
The moment she set foot in Lavender, the “creepy” feeling washed over her, making goosebumps rise on her own skin—and she rubbed her arms down in order to be able to calm herself down. The moment she saw the all-black figure standing near the appointed location, she broke out into a run—and her first instinct was to slap him for not telling her about Tsurugi—but she contained herself as she skidded to a stop and settled for crossing her arms on her chest as she coughed in order to announce her presence. “Well, well. I have something interesting to tell you,” she said by way of introduction, “…did you know I encountered someone who’s claiming to be your brother. Some seedy guy named Tsurugi… Tsurugi Crosslove, it seems. You had the same eyes but his hair was this weird shade of green,” she ended, rolling off the name with particular inflection, and her face screwed up into a look of disgust after that.
Start talking… she thought as she waited for him to answer her question… albeit it was a very awkward one, but now that she was around familiar company, she relaxed herself.
The sound of someone skidding to a stop was loud pulling the mans attention form the building over to the source of the sound, the audible cough that came from the face of the familiar Izumi was enough to reinforce her presence, however before Bunji could even get a word out she was here seeming to want to get a lot off her chest. The man would listen in complete silence as the girl went on to release a brick wall of information that shook Bunji to his very core, despite his best efforts to maintain his demeanor the man found himself staring at the girl with wide eyes the information was so outlandish that his first thought was that this was a joke, however he knew such was unlikely. Izumi had no access to this sort of information she had no way of knowing of Tsurugi, there was just no way for her to even assume Bunji had a brother, the man stood there his eyes focused on Izumi, completely gripped by the paralyzing grip of surprise. It was unbelievable the information he had just been given, despite all this time Tsurugi was still alive, but what was he doing here in Kanto? The question weighed heavily upon his conscious, the last time he saw Tsurugi was in Sinnoh, yes a chapter in the life of the two brothers that had been cloaked in the shadows, these two met in Sinnoh the time Bunji had a job there on behalf of Team Rocket. The memory played out in his mind like an old movie playing out on the silver screen, the contents of the meeting however where blurred away when he shook his head, stopping himself from diving too far into the past.
”Tsurugi Crosslove…” he managed to force out as he was still doing his best to shake off the stunning shock that had overwhelmed him with just a few words that found their way into his ears, ”He is my older brother, he really is my brother…but…why?” he asked more himself than anything, reaching up with his right hand he placed it firmly over his head, closing his eyes tightly. His mind barraged with memories of the past, images of a life he had buried away long ago when he chose to become a new him no longer hidden under the looming shadow of his brother! The man would shake his head, and pull his hand from his face lowering his eyes to the ground the hood that rested over his head casting a shadow over said eyes, ”He is my brother, but…he needs to stay away! Do not keep contact with him Izumi, stay away from him do you understand me?” he asked the girl raising his face to focus his stunning crimsons on the girl. ”Tsurugi, do not listen to him, just stay away from him!” he said practically ordering the girl with his tone, the man would take deep breaths feeling himself recover from the breakdown now, returning to his demeanor of before trying it stay as calm, and in control as possible he would turn away from Izumi facing the buildings entrance now.
”There are monsters in this world that are nothing more but the very embodiment of insanity, that is what my brother is, insanity, stay away from him” with those words Bunji approached the building, welcomed inside by the automatic doors that split apart for him to step inside, once inside he found himself welcomed by an empty buildings all the employees gone, only he, and Izumi had access to this tower for the night.

She watched as the expression on his face changed from passive, to petrified—and then abhorred; at least she could tell from the tone of his voice. Even if he did keep up that same cold façade with his very expressive crimson orbs, there were some things that old friends… or was it old flames…cannot hide from each other. “He actually saw me in Fuchsia City, asking for directions and all that… then he went borderline creepy when he mentioned my own name… have you been writing to him?” she asked, matching his pace as they proceeded to go to the employee’s entrance of the Kanto Radio Tower located at the back. “And then when I mentioned you—since you both have the same eyes—he then went full freaky, introducing himself as a member of some “peace force”, but I for one didn’t believe that crap he spouted on me…” she trailed off, remembering all of the lurid details.
After some moments of silence, she continued, “He even claimed that he knew that you were going off of the deep end and that he even offered his help to me to keep you out of trouble… I’ve already got you on my hands, why the hell should I associate with another person like him. He disgusts me…” she hissed, unable to keep the tone of her voice flat and even—because honestly, that encounter was more than enough to creep her out completely. It had taken her all her courage and restraint not to slap the green-haired individual as well, because let’s face it… getting tangled with a Crosslove was one hell of a task. Plus I still have to bring you home alive, you nutcase… she thought in the back of her mind as they finally reached the simple, unmarked door and then followed him inside.
Once she’d stepped past the opening, it swung shut, leaving them with just the evening light streaming out of the window. Her eyes weren’t adjusted to the darkness yet, so she had to squint before groping her way around—were the insides of offices really this dark, dank, and… scary? She kept up her strong front, but deep inside she was trembling again.
The more the girl spoke the more concern would settle into Bunji’s mind how did Tsurugi know where he was? The woman telling him that she did not say anything did little to reassure Bunji, he knew his brother well he knew what kind of crafty bastard he was so he was aware that with or without Izumi’s help that crimson eyed bastard would be able to eventually find him. The man would let a sigh escape him as he would regain his composure, slowly returning to his normal self the usual serious expression now taking hold of his masculine features, and his crimson eyes returning to the more calculated even emotionless gaze that he usually carried. With a steady pace he found himself exploring the insides of this dimly lit building with much caution behind every step, ”We leave the topic be for now Izumi, but remember what I said stay as far away from Tsurugi as you can…no good will come of you involving yourself with him” with those final words of warning he turned his focus upon the task at hand. His crimson eyes now much more focused on their surroundings, trying to rely on the senses he had available both eyesight, and hearing coming into play here as he tried his best to be aware of the overall surroundings. Every now, and then the sound of something moving or even a distant thud would cause him to turn in the direction of the sound, yet he would see nothing to cause any alarm so the man continued to push on, trying his best to maneuver around the darkness.
”So we push forward until we find the elevator, the reports of hauntings cover the ground floor up to the fourth…” he explained to the girl in a tone loud enough for her to hear, he knew that by now the ghost Pokemon that had claimed this place as their playground were aware of the two intruders so being on guard was a must. For extra precaution Bunji took the next measures, reaching back as he walked he searched until he found one of Izumi’s arms, pulling it forward he placed her hand against his side, ”Grab a hold of the cloak, this way we stick together remember ghost Pokemon can be tricky” with those words of caution he kept moving forward until the two finally spotted the elevator. Pressing the button he would wait for the elevator to come down, his mind trying to figure out which of his Pokemon would be the most effective in this situation, ”Izumi do you ha—“ but before he could answer the doors opened, however that was not what interrupted him. What did was the Haunter on the inside of the elevator that knocked Bunji away into a nearby wall causing the trainer to slam against the wall, then slide down feeling to dizzy to stand, he left Izumi to handle the crazed Pokemon.

I can’t guarantee you that, but all the same I’ll keep an eye on this ‘Tsurugi’ as well, because he’s just screaming plain evil, she thought as she followed him in the ever-increasing darkness… and winced as the sound of his voice cut through the darkness. “Can… can you try to keep it down?” she hissed a few moments later, looking around ever-so-carefully. She knew that her eyes were slowly adjusting to the inherent darkness that was present in the Kanto Radio Tower; but it wasn’t adjusting fast enough! She then felt something grab her, and was about to shriek when she realized that it was a pair of human hands, before it landed on something that felt coarse… she then blinked again, and saw that she was now in very close proximity to Bunji, and if one looked harder for a few moments, there was a flush of color on her face.
She then shook her head as she listened to his mutterings until such time that they reached the elevator; and he pressed the button that would bring the cab down to the ground floor—apparently someone had left it on an upper floor. He was about to ask her a question when the doors whooshed open silently—and he was sent flying, before he hit the opposite wall and fell down in a daze. “What the…” she began, before it turned into a shriek, “Bunji!” she cried out, rushing over to where he’d fallen—but it looked like he was out of sorts, so she hissed and turned to face the lump of whatever had forced him flying—it was a ghost! “Ah shit,” she hissed, before quickly groping around in her jacket and grabbing a random Pokeball; and then sent out whoever was inside it in a flash of red light—she squinted into the darkness and saw that Momo had appeared.
Momo looked around for a few seconds before seeing the levitating figure, and almost flipped over out of surprise—for it was coming in dangerously close with its tongue sticking out! “Momo! Confusion attack, now! Try to get rid of it!” she shouted, kneeling down and trying to help the fallen red-head to his feet. “Kirlia, kirlia! KI!” she heard it call out, and heard the whooshing sound of what she assumed to be the lump of energy whistling through the air, catching the thing with its tongue hanging out full-on, and she called out, “Momo, keep it up, use Confusion and drive it away from this place!” before turning her attention back to where the red-head was slumped in a daze.
The hell. Get up, you fool! Her mind thought as she quickly nudged him, and watched the battle from the corner of her eye—she saw that Momo had fired off another blast of the lump of energy, as the levitating figure was just about to blast a ball of solid dark energy her way! The two forces met in the center, and were in contact—before an explosion rocked the area and blasted the two ‘mons apart! Shielding her eyes, Izumi then looked towards where the flash had happened and saw that Momo was still standing—but the other figure had disappeared. “Where is it? Momo, keep watch,” she said, quickly attempting to shake Bunji back into consciousness.
His ears seemed to be muffling out any outer sounds he could barely hear Izumi when she shrieked out his name all he could do is see with a blurred vision as the woman ran towards him, doing her best to help him up after she had thrown out Momo into the battlefield trying to aid Izumi by carrying his own weight under his feet, he found himself leaning against the girl for the most part. Thus making him a bit of a burden until he could regain himself completely, feeling the powerful shake of what he only assumed to be an explosion the man would feel a sense of urgency overcome him as moments later he managed to finally move, ”I’m fine” he said to Izumi as he placed a gently hand on her shoulder reassuring her with a pat. Finally able to support his own weight with his own two feet the male would reach under his cloak pulling a Pokeball from his waist, pressing the center button he enlarged it in his palm, opening the Pokeball in his hand a flash of light shot forward taking the form of a Typhlosion. The fire type would rise on her hind legs, giving the familiar Momo a look she would greet the Pokemon with a nod of the head, this was the same Quilava that a few days ago assisted them in the cave when Bunji, and Izumi battle the phantom trainer. Turning her attention to the darkness the Typhlosion was already pushing away said darkness with the glow of her flames, looking to intensify that effect Bunji gave the following order ”Typhlosion intensify the flames to light up as much of the area as you can, then Momo can take a shot at the Haunter!”.
With that Typhlosion would nod happily willing to work alongside Momo once more, she focused with a low “Tyyyyy” escaping her parted lips as she intensified the flames on her causing them to blaze upwards as a result pushing the darkness further away, and lighting up more of the surrounding area. This plan seemed to work because suddenly the cry of a Haunter would catch Bunji’s attention, watching as the ghost Pokemon who seemed to have been more accustomed to the dim lights, shielded its eyes from the glow of the intense flames. ”Nows your chance Izumi, have Momo take it down” he said to the girl feeling he did not need to elevate his tone too much seeing as she was right next to him, turning his crimsons back to the battle he was starting to feel better as time went on now. That Haunter had really rocked him with its surprise attack, he got lucky this time, even if he was okay now it was best to take this mission with more caution than before.

While Momo stood her ground and continued to look around, Izumi had managed to get the red-head upright once more and was now trying to make him move… when another flash of red light entered the scene, and she saw that the Quilava that Momo had faced down earlier was now fully-evolved and it was… what’s that? It looks awesome… she thought, suddenly remembering that she had received a Cyndaquil egg from one of the Breeders she was in contact with… and then realized something, in a way this new, hulking fire-maned mouse was… related to her own Cyndaquil or something? The surrounding darkness was suddenly abated with the flames on the Typhlosion’s back burning brighter—it finally revealed the location of the levitating entity—and it was just about to launch another lump of dark energy! “Momo, do it, Calm Mind first, then Confusion once more!” she called out; seeing that the levitating entity was still focusing on building a bigger lump of dark energy.
“Kirlia, Ki! Ki?” she said a moment, looking beside her—the other presence was familiar, helping light up the surroundings—and then she realized who it was, it was the Quilava she’d faced off against some time ago! “Kirlia!” came the battle call, and for a moment, there was silence—and then another lump of concentrated psychic energy appeared between her hands, and shot through the air at the same time that the entity blasted the lump of dark energy their way! It was fast, but Momo was faster—the Confusion attack cut through the darker mass of energy and smacked the thing full-on in the face! It then gave a howl of pain, before phasing through the wall, acknowledging that it had been defeated. “The hell was that thing?” she said, a few moments later Momo walked over to where the Typhlosion stood, and apparently it gave the taller creature a high-five motion.
“What was that,” she said, chuckling as a few moments later, another Pokeball slipped out from her pocket, and the resulting flash of red light revealed a very cute, fluffy looking fire-maned…mouse. It wasn’t as big as the one that Bunji had, but then it saw its mistress and promptly went over and nuzzled her with its long snout. “Hey… hey, Ara, stop that, it tickles,” she said, breaking out into giggles and looking down. “So…” she said, turning to face him, “I got your present. There he is. Cutest little thing I’ve ever seen,” she continued, as the titchy mouse looked up and began sniffing her jeans. “Cynda? Cyndaquil?” she heard it growl, before sniffing the other pants leg (Bunji’s) and then seeing the bigger, hulking ‘mon that was still standing guard like a sentinel, keeping its flames up in order to dispel the darkness.
The battle was about to end, Bunji watched from afar with a calculating eye as the sphere of psychic energy was blasted from where Momo stood aiming to clash directly with the Haunter’s attack the resulting collision did not slow the sphere of psychic energy one bit for it easily tore through the feeble defense of the Shadow Ball, the sphere impacted with the Hauner’s face knocking the Pokemon away causing it to cry out in pain before it slipped into the solid wall. This was both a good sign but also one that spelled a lot of trouble for the duo, the Haunter was not defeated it was still able to slip away surely to warn the other Ghost Pokemon in the building. This realization only further reinforced the idea of keeping safe as they continued to progress further into this building, it was while he was contemplating keeping Typhlosion out or not that he heard the sound of a Pokeball opening, the familiar sound took his eyes down towards the source by the time he looked he was staring at a Cyndaquil. The small fire type was quick to rush over towards Izumi, nuzzling affectionately into her legs, this made Bunji smile as he flashbacked for a moment to the first time he had acquired Typhlosion back when she was a Cyndaquil, not long after would Izumi pull him from memory lane with her words.
Typhlosion would happily return the high five motion towards Momo when the familiar psychic Pokemon approached her it was when she heard the sounds of a Cyndaquil that she glanced over, immediately the Typhlosion settled her flames allowing the intense glow to calm down as she walked over on all fours. Approaching the Cyndaquil she felt an odd attraction to the Pokemon, pawing at it gently with her right front leg she would lean in to sniff the Cyndaquil, it was then that the Typhlosion shut her eyes as she affectionately nuzzled into the small Cyndaquil she had come to recognize as one of her offspring. ”Huh didn’t expect her to recognize the baby so easily, she didn’t spend much time around the eggs” Bunji would say as he watched with some wonder in his eyes, looking up from the admittedly cute reunion he would focus those eyes of his on Izumi, ”We should proceed with the mission, however let’s do so carefully” with that suggestion he turned to enter the elevator. Typhlosion would follow after Bunji, once everyone was inside the man pressed the button leading to the fourth floor with the doors closing shut the machine would begin to move upward towards the higher floors.
Arriving at the fourth floor the doors would split open allowing for the group to step out, welcomed by a dimly lit hallway that was lined with doors that were flung open, tables flipped over, and chairs torn to bits it seemed the ghost Pokemon had done a number on this place. Luckily Typhlosion was there to light the area up, and push the darkness away from them the fire type would walk alongside the red haired trainer as the two took the lead in the team, ”Any ideas how we are going to get rid of all these ghost Pokemon?” he suddenly asked, his voice directed towards Izumi.

“Cynda… Cyndaquil!” the smaller mouse cried out, recognizing the Typhlosion’s familiar scent—and the two nuzzled together for a few moments, while she looked at the scene, and was secretly fighting the urge to squeal. She hated to admit this (at least in front of him) that the scene was extremely cute and heartwarming—when everything was abruptly brought back to the present by the sound of his voice. “Well then, lead the way. Come on Momo… Ara,” she said, calling the cute little fuzz ball over, and they all slipped into the elevator cab; and waited as it whooshed up the floors—and then led to open on the fourth floor. She then let the other two walk out first, and then, her Cyndaquil was hanging on to her leg.
“Come on Ara,” she began, using the shorthand version of his full name, “Time to get back in here… I promise, I’ll let you see your mother again, okay?” and then pointed the Pokeball that had a design of rippling flames etched into the red half, watching as a flash of red light shot out and sucked it back inside the Pokeball. She then tapped the button and dropped the shrunken ball back into her pocket, before motioning to Momo to follow her. She then looked around and was appalled at the sight of the wreckage that was strewn everywhere—broken chairs, upturned plants, doors hanging on their hinges… and then she heard him ask a question.
“Well… do you have anything that can repel them? I have Momo, and she’s a Psychic-type. From what I witnessed, her Confusion attack really did a number on that thing that was attempting to lick her and.. traumatize her,” she ended, unable to find the appropriate words to express the horror and disgust she’d seen. “How the hell are we going to get this done, then? Exorcise them all with Confusion?” she ventured, but she knew that Momo had her own limits as well; because it was very tiring having to fire off the same attack over and over again. Drats, if only she knew Psychic… she thought, standing much closer to him and unknowingly slipping her arm around his as they continued to walk down the area, looking around at the mess that had greeted them earlier.
Having taken the lead he walked on keeping a careful eye on their surroundings, as did Typhlosion, he did not want to get taken by surprise again by another Ghost Pokemon coming in out of nowhere so this is why he was keeping on high alert, all the while he was giving Izumi his attention listening to her every words of concern he could only nod in agreement to what she was saying. He did in fact have a Pokemon that would be able to aid them in this mission, because from the looks of it they were not going to be able to just ask the ghost Pokemon to leave their new playground nicely, so it would be by force. ”I do, I have Xatu, he can aid Momo in the battle against the ghost Pokemon” he explained not really minding when he felt Izumi wrap her arm with his, it was in fact comforting so much so that his own hand searched out hers almost as if on instinct once he found it his fingers intertwined with hers. The two practically walking like a couple through the park, clinging to one another at the arms, however this was no walk at the park the surroundings were anything but romantic with all the chaos that was left in the wake of the wild partying being done by the ghost Pokemon. It was not long before their walk would be interrupted when Typhlosion suddenly growled into a dark room, her sharp eyes focused upon the darkness letting out another growl she allowed her back flames to intensify lighting up the area around her. Responding to the alert Typhlosion from the darkness a dark beam shot out only to be quickly countered by Typhlosions flamethrower attack the resulting clash caused an instant reaction as the two forms of energy created a concentrated explosion that both lit up the room, and shattered the nearby windows.
Jumping back Bunji kept his hand firmly grasping Izumi’s he did not want her leaving his side, looking over at her with a new set of crimsons he showed a glow, a life that his eyes had not shown since their reunion form the very darkness that had enveloped him it seemed that the old Bunji had emerged, the smirk of confidence, and the glow in his eyes all reminiscent of the red haired boy that was once her boyfriend. ”Hang back Azi, I got this one!” he said to her in a more upbeat manner than his new self-seemed to talk, a squeeze to the hand he still held mean to reassure her, ”Typhlosion focus on the target, get ready to counter!” he ordered with that his Pokemon nodded in acknowledgement, watching as the Gengar grinned wildly all the while dashing left and right as if to confuse the fire type. Pouncing towards Typhlosion the Gengar focused a condensed sphere of dark energy around its right hand as it approached the target Pokemon throwing a direct punch once it was within reach, following the previous command Typhlosion would dodge leaning to the right landing on the outside of the attack, ”Flamethrower!” his voice boomed with that command the Pokemon released a sudden stream of intensely hot flames in the Gengar’s face, engulfed by the stream of fire the Pokemon was pinned to the ground left only to cry out in pain, as it tried to slip out of the raging flames range.
Finally escaping the Gengar would hover above the ground trying to slip away, but Bunji would not have any of that feeling a new vigor overtake him the male stepped forward with a tone of excitement he ordered ”Flame Charge, chase it down, and end it!” with that Typhlosion cried out as her body became literally a potent fireball that then charged forward after the Gengar. Catching up quickly the fire type smashed her blazing body into the Gengar, the resulting impact knocking the Gengar into the nearby wall forcing the scorched Pokemon to bounce off on contact, and fall face first into the ground. Allowing the flames to settle around her the Typhlosion stood over her defeated opponent with a single huff she turned sure it was out for the count, ”Ha! Not so bad eh Azi? One down, guess we have what? A hundred more to go” he said to the girl giving her a genuine smile accompanied by a pair of vibrant crimsons swelling with joy. This man was not the Bunji that had come back from Hoenn, the cold hearted, and calculative man that fought only for his sole mission of revenge, no this was the old Bunji the carefree man that had always done his best to put his friends first, the one that had wooed Azi all those years ago.

They continued to walk down the corridor, looking over all the wreckage; and she sighed in relief as he mentioned that he had another ‘mon on his team that could help them out when dealing with the spirits. “Well I highly suggest sending him out now… and I may do the same as well… I just remembered that Dark-type attacks also harm them,” she trailed off, quickly digging around for the Pokeball etched with a draconic pattern, and in another flash of red light, Riku made his grand appearance—and then began sniffing the air and then growled menacingly. “Well, so it seems he can smell all the evil…” she trailed off as they went past a particular room… and then another force came barreling out of it! Apparently it was another entity, but this one had feet!
“What the hell!?” she shrieked, watching as the Typhlosion shot into the room and she hung around at the door, haring him shout about how he would handle the situation. It was as if someone had played a tape, albeit in reverse—what with the way he carried himself, was she really stepping back in time? Was she seeing the “new” façade fall away, to be replaced by the old one—the one she knew and grew up with all those years ago? She then remembered that even if she’d hung on to his arm, his fingers interlaced with her and that brought a fierce blush on her face at that particular moment. Am I imagining things?! I have to be… I thought he said that he would be… but wait… I should take advantage of it while I still can… she thought, suddenly shivering—what was going on?! She looked over her shoulder and saw that there was nthing else there—although Momo was looking at her, her own eyes wide as she quickly summoned a ball of psychic energy and hurled it almost at her face!
“Momo!!! What do you think you’re—“ she trailed off as the hunk of energy narrowly missed her, only to smack into something that was behind her! “What the hell?!” she shouted a few moments later, quickly taking a few paces back, and then seeing something familiar—the thing that had attempted to attack Momo back on the ground floor was back, and it had brought friends! Izumi could see several floating balls of gas, with heads stuck on them—then she suddenly recognized what they were—they reminded her of her own Gastly, Rachen! “Aw crap, what the actual hell!!!” she had time to shout before whistling Riku’s “attention” call, which made the little quadruped snap around to follow the general direction of where the whistling had come from. “Riku, go, do this now!” she dropped off, before whistling that familiar mournful tune, and he quickly took a deep breath.
On another front, Momo was still tussling with the entity that had attempted to lick her and make her squirm out of disgust… and Izumi noticed that she was having difficulty. “Momo, go use your Calm Mind to boost your stats, and then quickly follow it up with as much Confusion attacks as you can throw its ugly way!” she shouted, scooting over the wreckage and unconsciously finding herself back-to-back with Bunji while he was tussling with even more ghosts that had appeared. “Bring out your Xatu, NOW! It called the cavalry!” she shouted; watching as more and more Gastly appeared; followed up by several of the evolved forms, and then there were a couple of the ghosts that had feet, apparently leading the charge.
Back on the battlefield where her two ‘mons stood, Momo quickly calmed herself down and felt a new power surging through her, before letting loose with the same hunk of psychic energy as it shot out from her hands. Riku then followed it up with an expelling of draconic energy, and the two forces combined to grow in size as it shot through the door and made the Haunter fly against the opposite wall. The Gastly horde, however, were still screaming down on them and were attempting to use their Night Shade attack; something Izumi knew all too well while practicing with Rachen. “Brace yourselves! Riku, use the same attack as earlier, and Momo, combine your Confusion attack in order to make it more powerful!” she called out, hoping that the two were not going to get overwhelmed.
And then, it happened. Ball after ball of negative energy went screaming through the air; ripping through the combined forces of Momo and Riku’s joint attack, dispelling it and screaming towards where the Emotion ‘mon stood, trying to fend off the stream of continuous blasts coming from the Gastlys and the Haunters. “Ugh… graaah… Momo, Riku! Hold your ground!” she shouted as the heavy spiritual pressure enveloped the entire room; and while the two were fighting them off as valiantly as they could manage, the opponents just seemed to keep on spawning. Ball after ball of psychic energy was being hurtled, along with continuous expelling of draconic energy—but at that point the two ‘mons were just simply too tired to go on.
It was Riku that had collapsed first, and she let out a small scream; as it tried to expel another blast of draconic energy, it faltered and then toppled over; a few moments later Momo hung her arms down tiredly and was just simply too drained to go on—what were they going to do now…?! “Momo! Riku!!!” she screamed, trying to move from her position; but even then there were several of the Haunters that were blocking her path, preventing her from rushing over to them—when it happened. the light that she’d seen envelop Momo was there again—but it was Riku’s body that was glowing fiercely. Are they going to change… forms again?! She thought, holding her breath and hoping for the best. As the continuous assault of attacks continued to batter them, the light intensified…

A few moments later, a much taller Momo appeared; along with Riku—and she was surprised to see that he had two heads now. What the hell… she thought, before picking up the hint. “Momo! Go! Keep using Confusion! Riku, do this!” she said, finally getting the chance to use the new tune. At first, the whistle sounded flat, but it then started to tremble, before breaking out into something that was reminiscent of the musical saw. Hell it was the only thing she could think of, since Bite was a physical attack—yet the moment the two heads heard it, they leapt up and charged, sinking their fangs into the two nearest floating blobs that were within their reach. Momo’s Confusion attack soared over the newly-evolved Riku, and managed to knock another of the Haunters out of the way—was the battle tide turning in their favor?!
The sweet taste of victory was short lived, for when he managed to take down the Gengar it seemed that an entire swarm of ghost Pokémon would crash down on the two trainers, and their compatriots the Typhlosion would watch with wide eyes that swelled with shock at the sheer realization of the numbers that they faced, however the male with the crimson eyes remained surprisingly positive. Feeling Izumi tap against his back he would look over his shoulder towards the girl, ”Don’t let the pressure break ya Azi, we have this battle! I believe in you!” the words of genuine encouragement targeted towards the girl, turning his attention to the battle once more he saw as a swarm of Gastly approached his Pokemon. The fire type would blaze the flames on her back, just then Bunji’s voice would ring into her ears with a command ”Typhlosion! Don’t let them get to you, use quick attack to out maneuver their attacks, then counter with flamethrower” following the commander of her trainer the Pokemon focused her eyes upon the incoming trio. Just as he had predicted they attacked, each firing their own sphere of dark energy the fire Pokemon ran using the speed enhancement of Quick Attack to allow her to move in a zig zag motion avoiding the three spheres each crashing into the ground creating an explosion on contact. Once she was out of harm’s way she began to conduct electrical sparks form her body that soon whipped around her entire being until focusing into a single powerful outline of electrically charged energy. Kicking off the ground the Typhlosion would hit one, then pushing off that Gastly she would hit the other, each time she slammed into them the electrical energy would conduct enveloping the Pokemon in electrical bolts that knocked that forced them down.
Finally Typhlosion would connect with the last Gastly when she did her eyes focused upon an incoming Haunter, the Pokémon seemed to be trying to take advantage of the element of surprise however it was unaware that Typhlosion had seen it coming, kicking off her latest victim she literally propelled herself towards the Haunter. Taking it by surprised she slammed head first into the Pokemon, releasing the remaining electrical energy into the Haunter, the result was a Pokemon crying out in pain as it was knocked away rolling onto the ground landing on the ground herself with heavy pants the Typhlosion would get no chance to recover before she was struck from the side, completely blinded sider by an incoming Haunter that used shadow punch. Watching this Bunji would reach for another Pokeball releasing another Pokemon from its confines, already knowing who he had chosen he called out the command, ”Xatu! Let’s rock this place, use Night Shade, and back Typhlosion up!” his voice carried with a new tone, seemed to catch even Xatu off guard. The Pokemon would glance at Bunji with a curious expression, his eyes able to see the change in brainwaves, shrugging off the matter only because they found themselves in such a jam the bird Pokemon would swing a wing releasing a blade of dark energy towards the Gengar. The blade would cut across the ground as it traveled with killer intent, as did every attack that came from Xatu, however Gengar would avoid with a levitation aided backflip, and the blade of dark energy would find itself smashing into a nearby wall causing a deep scar on contact.
Bunji would smirk feeling a sense of excitement despite the overwhelming odds they face, this was definitely a reminiscent of the old him the male would always see the glass half full despite the odds he always kept optimistic, and this is what he was doing now. Watching as the Gengar prepared to counter attack, he would call out a counter attack of his own ”Typhlosion its distracted Flamethrower, and Xatu you deal with the incoming horde of Gastlys, Psycho Shock!” with those orders his Pokemon jumped into action. Typhlosion was first jumping up on all fours she released a direct stream of concentrated fire from her mouth aimed at the Gengar that was focused on the Xatu, not seeing the attack coming the Pokemon was overwhelmed by the fire stream that resulted with it being knocked away rolling on the floor as its body was overwhelmed by the intense flames. On the other hand Xatu prepared his own attack, spread his wings he focused his psychic energy in front of him in the form of four balls of concentrated psychic energy that then fired forth in a spread out pattern towards the incoming Gastly. Bunji wanted to see how the clash would conclude, but a bright light from the corner of his eyes caught his attention….
It was then that the male turned around his eyes focused on the bright light, but as soon as it intensified too much he shielded his eyes only to lower his forearm once the light had faded, as a result he found himself looking upon two newly evolved Pokemon, however he found more interest in the fully evolved Momo. A sense of joy overwhelmed him, making him want to run over, and embrace his baby girl, but the current situation prevented him from doing just that instead he gave her a knowing nod watching as she fought with her newfound evolutionary boost. A hand would find itself upon Izumi’s shoulder in no time giving her a squeeze, ”You are an amazing trainer, good job Azi” he said to her with a kind tone it was then that he had to turn to his own battle, watching he would not come to a very favorable sight. His Pokemon were not out of the fight but clearly struggling, Typhlosion found herself moving with what speed she could avoiding a series of beams that threatened to smash into her, countering with streams of flames the duo of Gengars that found themselves trying to overwhelm her would avoid the attacks only to counter as soon as they could. Xatu on the other hand was airborne using his own levitation to maneuver around the antics of two Gastlys, and a Haunter, this wouldn’t be so bad. Except for the incoming horde, with a chuckle Bunji could only say this…
”Azi, we better kick this into gear there are more of them heading our way. We need to find a way to thin out their ranks” he suggested watching his Pokemon battle on.

“What do we do?! We throw everything into it! Try combining your attacks! I know I’ve done it!” she said, feeling the familiar squeeze on her shoulder; which suddenly gave her an idea. “Momo, try and concentrate again, use your Calm Mind first, then mix it up with a Confusion attack—but don’t let it loose until Riku does this…” she trailed off, letting the notes of the mournful tune ring through the air—and now that Riku had two heads, it was much easier to fire off a more potent blast of draconic energy. Once the energy beam was fully formed, it then shot out from its mouth—whereas for Momo, she had centered her focus, which then propelled her to use her Confusion attack once more—and this time, the two attacks seemingly merged; a conglomerate of glowing power. One part of the attack was pure psychic, while the other part was draconic energy—so she had no idea how… explosive this would be.
She then braced herself as the mixed attack then smacked an incoming horde of Gastlys, which then exploded on impact; who knew that combining certain attacks would make them extremely volatile?! “Okay, Riku, now that they’re down, go do this, as much as you can!” she added a few moments later; and then the air was rent with the sound of the musical saw—or rather, her best attempt at the musical saw; and then two pairs of fangs shot out and attempted to bite the nearest ghosts (two Gastly) while Momo was continuously making the fallen blobs levitate with her own psychic power. “Momo, give it your all, Confusion until there’s nothing left of them!” she shouted, seeing that the horde was somewhat thinning out.
Hoping that they were not going to get stuck in this trap, she watched as orb after orb of psychic energy hurtled through the air; while Riku was continuously biting all the other entities that came within snapping range. “Do you think it’s time for our two Psychic ‘mons to combine their power in order to put them to rest…?” she said a few moments later, watching as the horde was thinning out—who knew that they were very persistent?
So this battle would rage on, the sheer amount of chaos that was unfolding before his eyes was enough to cause anyone to fill with worry this young man however could only smile as a sense of pride swelled within him, pride towards his Pokemon despite the outnumbering odds that stacked against them they both continued to fight valiantly, such an act was enough for him to watch on with pride shining in his eyes. He was so overwhelmed by the battle that he would shut out Izumi, not on purpose it was more of a stir of the moment sort of thing the man would stare directly at the ghost Pokemon that made up the bulk of the horde. ”Xatu and Typhlosion! Give it your all! Take them down!” he ordered as he watched his Pokemon acknowledge his command by kicking themselves into action, first was Xatu with wings spread wide he watched as the two Gastly came in each blasting a beam of dark energy, suddenly Xatu vanished with a flash using teleportation to not get behind the two orbs but before Haunter. Once he was there the Pokemon swung one wing releasing another concentrated blade of dark energy that cut into the unsuspecting Haunters back and finally he spun around swinging his other wing releasing a second blade of dark energy, with both blades colliding into the Pokemon it was enough to knock it down, but not out. Xatu would be given no time to finish Haunter off, before the two Gastly’s managed to spot him again continuing their wild assault one seemed more eager than the other as he charged ahead releasing a sphere of dark energy from his open mouth, avoiding the sphere itself the Xatu countered with a barrage of concentrated psychic spheres from both wings, the spheres where five in total.
The Gastly would watch as the spheres came his way, and slammed into him each colliding with their own individual explosion on contact with the floating circle enough to knock the Pokemon out, With the last Gastly seemingly fleeing the Xatu would prepare to chase it only to see a stream of intense flames engulf the round ghost, causing it to float around wildly trying to escape the fire, but as it was doing the Xatu released another blade of dark energy for good measure. The result of the two attacks hammering away at it ended with the Gastly with a single explosion resulting from the two opposite energies colliding with another, with that Xatu looked over at Typhlosion to see her standing in triumph over the two Gengars who now lay unconscious on the floor. The sound of cackling caused both to turn as they looked in the direction of the remainder of the horde, they were swarming Momo, and the Dragon Pokemon, taking notice of this as well Bunji was quick to give the next command ”Alright you two, go at it give it your all!” he said to them. Hovering above Xatu would begin to glow with a thing outline of psychic energy around his body, and Typhlosion was charging on all fours, until her body was suddenly enveloped by a thick coating of intense flames. The fireball would run into the swarm of Gastlys, knocking away as many as she could from around Momo once she landed the flames around her body would release in all directions, and Typhlosion would release another flamethrower this time guiding around form one Haunter to another Gastly, and so on.
Xatu was already positioned high above, the psychic energy around his body would focus into a row of spheres that soon rained down wildly below aiming to smash into the unsuspecting horde, combined with the barrage from below well a large cloud picked up, the winds from the force of the many explosions blew the dust towards the two. Reacting quickly Bunji brought Izumi in for an embrace, but turned using his back to shield her from the incoming cloud of smoke, ”I got you Azi!” he said amidst the chaos with a reassuring tone, when the dust settled he released the girl turning full body to once again gaze upon the end result of the battle. With the cloud of smoke settling he found himself looking at four Pokemon, each as tired as the next Typhlosion was leaning against a nearby wall heavy ants escaping her, and Xatu had landed on the ground his wings hanging lazily at either side as he looked around trying to confirm they had eradicated the entire horde. Bunji would smile, walking over clapping his hands ”Good job everyone! Honestly, you guys kicked ass…and Momo, I’m so proud of you” he said embracing his adoptive daughter in his arms once he was close to her, gently caressing her head as he held her for a few moments longer. Looking over at Izumi, while allowing Momo to use him as a pillar to support her exhausted body, the male would flash a grin at the girl ”We make a good team, eh Azi?”.
