“Qui! Qui!” she exclaimed with excitement as she hopped around her trainer, Quilava had always been the most energetic of his team, and she was never afraid to show her affection towards her trained by nuzzling up to him, or clinging to his shoulder as he walked around the man with the crimson eyes could only wonder how she’d act once she was Typhlosion probably hug him to death. It would turn out to be a good decision to bring her out today though, seeing as Quilava was his only fire type she would serve well to give both he, and Izumi some light so they could see in the cave. Yes this cave, it was a tale he had heard many times before during his youth, the tale of the unsung hero of Lavaridge, a trainer in his prime ventured into this cave alone with only his Numel at his side to seek out a young girl who had been lost for three days. Not soon after night had fallen did the Numel emerge with the girl in toe however the trainer was nowhere to be seen, none ever ventured to find him, and the girl was unable to reveal where he was for she claimed not to know. With bangs of his strawberry topped hair cascading down around him he would lean against a nearby tree, closing his eyes while he thought about the tale in his mind wondering about the possibilities of what would have happened to the hero of Lavaridge.
Quilava found herself sitting next to Bunji her eyes curiously gazing up at her trainer from time to time as she took in the details of his face he seemed serious, but then again she was sure he was just psyching himself up for this mission! She after all was excited to take part in the mission, the female Pokemon would suddenly paw at Bunji’s leg rewarding a glance from her trainer as he looked down at the Pokemon wondering what she wanted, however all he got was Quilava playfully nuzzling his leg. ”Heh, at ease little one we will embark on the mission soon, we just need to wait for Izumi to arrive” he mentioned as he reached down with his free hand petting the Quilava carefully. The Pokemon would lean into the hand that was petting her, closing her eyes in delight, all the while Bunji waited for Izumi the two had agreed to tackle tis mystery together after all in their youth they always talked about one day exploring the cave themselves, why not now?

It was… very ironic to say the least; there was a mission that was available in their hometown—well, outside their hometown would be a more correct term—and this time Izumi was headed out to that cave which was the center of one of the town’s old tales, long-lost in antiquity. Wondering if everything that was fictional had a grain of salt in them, she then whistled a new series of notes; as she was trying to work on something with Riku, her Deino. He was getting more and more accustomed to listening to the sound of her voice—and these whistles—and was developing some kind of “code” so that instead of shouting out the attacks that he knew, she’d just give a whistle, and he’d know what to do. Who knew that they were quick learners, yet absolutely slow to evolve? She thought, whistling a different ditty and trying to harmonize it more so that it became cohesive.
After huffing and puffing (and eating one of the human-safe Lava Cookies that the Old granny sold at the top of the mountain outside their town) she finally arrived at one of the hidden “entrances” to the cave that bubbled and snaked deep within the silent protector of Lavaridge town… and then, the ashes were everywhere. “Crap this,” she hissed, quickly batting her legs and shoulders to remove them of the soot that had fallen on them as she was trudging through the grass in order to be able to get to where the red-haired idiot… err, individual waited, and then she spotted one of the ‘mons he had and then secretly knew just where that egg had come from—as it was sitting in its own incubator, and she was waiting for it to make an appearance in a few days’ time.
“So, going to tackle that story now are we? Lead the way then,” she began, contemplating whether or not to send out any of her ‘mons at this point in time. She didn’t have a solid Water-type yet that actually knew Water-type moves; even if she had Piplup; all that she knew were Flying-type moves. Typical Pokemon move logic, she groaned to herself in the back of her mind as she crossed her arms and continued to brush off the soot that was sticking to her sneakers.
The voice that would ring into his ears belonged to none other than Izumi, the male would raise his eyes form the ground looking up at the girls with the amber eyes she did not seem to be so happy to see him judging from her tone, but then again could he blame her the male knew how complicated things were between them. With a sigh Buni would just give the girl a nod as she waited for him to take the lead, pushing his back off the tree which he was using for support to lean on he would start walking towards the cave entrance. Quilava would glance at the woman for a minute, unaware of who she was so she simply shrugged her off following alongside Bunji, happily staying near her trainer ”We are here to tackle a tale that is older than us, in a sense we are stepping back in time. Maybe now we can bring light to this old tale, see how much truth it really holds” he said to the girl as they ventured into the cave. Instead of being swallowed by the darkness of the cave the two would instead be embraced by the orange glow of the Quilava’s flames as she walked ahead leading the way at a careful pace. Bunji remained close to the Pokemon, hoping Izumi was keeping up to his pace so the two could march on making their way deeper into the cave. ”We should be careful in here, this terrain is older than time itself at least that is what the old man says, besides we don’t know what sort of Pokemon dwell in here…” he paused as he watched Quilava come to a stop, the small Pokemon would raise her nose sniffing the air as she caught some unfamiliar scents most of them just moisture from the cave, perhaps there was a lake inside of here somewhere?
Bunji would stare at her, once the fire type gave her a nod she would move forward with that Bunji continued following behind her, ”Azi, how is your Pokemon training coming? I know Momo has evolved, but as for the rest?” he asked with genuine curiosity he was aware the girl tailed him constantly, she had after all made such a fact clear many times over. Yet he wondered when she would have time to train her own Pokemon? The girl needed to grow strong, not for his sake, but for her own this world was a cruel one the only ones a trainer could depend on in the worst of times was the very Pokemon they shared a bond with.

“One of the old grannies at the Hot Spring said that she was around at the time the tale took place; but seeing her wizened form… she may be joking. Ah, whatever. Let’s go and find out of the tale is truth,” she said, unfolding her hands, before clenching them for a few moments, and then following him into the caves recesses; secretly hoping that nothing out of the ordinary would happen—as it was dangerous to be caught off-guard. She then cringed at his question—for it was one for the ages; and she didn’t answer him—at first. After some time of walking through the dank and brimstone-tinted air of the cave, she finally spoke. “Well, with me chasing you around, only Momo’s managed to evolve. So far. I don’t know why. Everyone else is apparently ready to evolve but I have no idea what’s holding them back,” she finally admitted, hiding her face by looking down at the ground and counting her steps.
She was the kind of person who took their time; and preferred if her own ‘mons would evolve out of their own volition instead of forcing them to evolve. “One thing I’m focusing on is building up Riku, my Deino—of course you remember him. Since he’s the lone Dragon-type amongst my troops, he’s a bit hard to communicate with… but over time, we learned how to understand each other and learn from one another,” she admitted; the rest of her ‘mons were either to lazy or just taking their own sweet time before waiting for that one shock to trigger them into evolving. “That and I haven’t been in any official battles… yet. Just catching a lot of ‘mons and building up my army… well, armies, since I have quite a lot of favorites to look out for and to train,” she ended, looking around the area and seeing that the deeper they went, the more pronounced the stench of brimstone became.
“Phew, what the hell died in here,” she said a few moments later, covering her nose out of surprise as the rank odor assailed her nostrils.
The journey into the cave was a quiet one, almost awkward one could say the male would wait for the girl to speak she seemed to not really want to answer his question as he had asked it moments ago, however soon enough his ears would be pleased to catch the words that made up Izumi’s answer to his question. With a silent nod he would understand what she was saying, he knew where she was coming from Pokemon training took time, hell Nidoran was his first Pokemon, and it took a while before it became the Nidoking it now is. The male had fond memories of all times where his Pokemon each evolved into their current state, he was proud of all of them for having achieved new plateaus over time as they trained alongside him, however soon his mind would be pulled some the subject as his head jerked back at the offensive smell that slipped through his nostrils causing him to also cover his nose. Even Quilava shook her head side to side trying to shake off the smell from her senses, the small fire Pokemon doing her best to try to maintain herself on course but being unable to due to the smell, Bunji stepped forward closer to the path that led to the smell.
Had they stumbled across a corpse? The tale of the unsung hero was too old for the body to still be this fresh, unless it was somehow preserved yet Bunji, nor anyone else in their little group would get a chance to even think when suddenly Quilava flared her flames on her back growling at something in the shadows. Looking over Bunji was wide eyed to see an incoming Makuhita charging straight for them, ”Quilava! Attack! Flame Thrower!” was he sure the Pokemon was hostile? No, but Quilava’s reaction alone was enough to ignite a hostile command from her trainer, with obedience the fire type would take aim then fire a direct stream of fire from her open mouth aiming to smash it into the incoming Makuhita. However the wild fighting type would roll to the side avoiding the attack then charging in towards the Quilava, ”Quilava dodge!” with that the Pokemon would stop feeding energy into the fire attack, and push off her four legs to hop out of the way of the Makuhitas slam attack. ”Counter with Flamethrower!”, his voice echoing in the caves long hallway the fire type would launch another stream of flames this times forcing the Makuhita into a vicious roll as the flames engulfed its body.
Bunji watched with Quilava at his side as the fighting type stayed flat on its face not moving, and its body smoking from the fire attack, once they saw it was unconscious the male would relax from his stance so would Quilava, despite staying focused on the hostile wild type. ”…it seems the cave is filled with hostile Pokemon, no surprise there but we continue with caution. Izumi, did anyone ever speak of how the hero died exactly?” he questioned as he himself could not really remember the fine details of the story.

She blinked as the rank odor of brimstone assailed her nostrils, just what was causing that stench to permeate the air?! She could only cough and cover up her nose with the crook of her elbow as she ventured further in—and was secretly glad that she didn’t send Riku out; for the smell alone would have been enough to drive the little dragon nuts. She then blinked her eyes as fast as she could; before hearing the sounds of a scuffle not too far ahead. Stumbling through the area, following the direction of the noise—she came just in time to see that there was an unconscious Makuhita—but where had it come from? She then strained her memory back to the mission description—it certainly didn’t have any wild ‘mons listed there. “This only means one thing… someone may be here,” she said, her voice cracking due to the sudden inhalation of the stench that grew only stronger the deeper they went in.
“That means someone’s still here… but who the hell could live and survive this long with this around them,” she added a few moments later, coughing and forcing herself to open her eyes—she was using her ears to follow the sound of his voice, as the eye-watering dank was getting to her. She then forced her eyes open for a few seconds and felt the tears sting them—not out of emotion, but of irritation. She then strained her hearing, before trying to remember just how the old tale went… “Wait a second… either it ended with the hero staying behind and letting his own Numel live, or the smell of this area got to him and he eventually choked due to the noxious fume, that’s what my guess is. And that Makuhita… that doesn’t look like its wild. I think someone’s up ahead,” she said, blinking her eyes rapidly once again, it was making them water so bad.
The girls assumption made sense, there just could be someone inside of this cave someone lingering in the darkness of the cave waiting for victims to come in? Yet why would they send a Makuhita to charge wildly into battle? The questions circled in his head as he looked over at Izumi, just then listening to her describe the details of the story the male would nod as his own memory was refreshed by the retelling of the story, ”Either way we should tread with caution, the further we venture into cave the more…where did the Makuhita go?” he asked having turned away while he was talking, he focused his crimson eyes on the now empty spot. Bunji looked around half expecting the Pokemon to emerge from the shadows aiming to attack them with a surprise attack, however that never happened leading him to believe that the Pokemmon had fled. The man would walk towards the spot where the Pokemon had been lying on its face, he saw no footprints anywhere the man unfortunately did not have any way of heightening his perception, which could allowing him to see glowing footprints, if such a thing were possible this would be much easier for him. Instead he would rely on Quilava, ”Quiava, can you catch the scent of the Makuhita?” looking over at her trainer the Pokemon nodded, as she sniffed the ground trying to pick up the scent but she came up empty, giving her trainer a shake of the head.
Bunji would look over at the girl letting out a low sigh, ”It seems things just got a lot more difficult, we have a possible crazy trainer lurking this cave, and on top of that we need to locate the bones of the unsung hero. Then again, isn’t that what makes adventuring so fun?” he said with a chuckle seemingly lightening his usually cold, and stern demeanor to a more casual one. Turning he started waking again alongside Quilava, the man had become accustomed to the horrible stench every now and then the smell seemed to get stronger reminding him to cover his nose when that happened, so far the path seemed pretty linear. However it would not take long before something else happened, this time it was a blur of speed Bunji nor Quilava had time to even react to what it was they simply watched as the speedy creature dashed past them both with ease. Turning Bunji looked along with Quilava, thankfully the fire Pokemon’s flames gave off decent enough light to reveal the mystery blur, there in front of them was a Nuleaf the Pokemon was charging straight for Izumi.
The Nuzleaf would bring its hands together splitting them just a bit concentrating a sphere of dark energy between its parted hands, it was about to open fire on the girl, ”Quilava! Sto---!” before he or his Pokemon could say anything however both were seemingly locked in place by an overwhelming feeling of fear, they were quite literally paralyzed in place. Unable to help Bunji, and Quilava watched helplessly as the Nuzleaf threw its arms out launching the Shadow Ball at the woman, the sphere of energy flying straight for her.

“Huh,” she began, knowing that just seconds ago, there was a fallen Makuhita near her location, but upon checking once more it had seemingly vanished! “Where the hell did it…” she trailed off, looking at her companion quizzically; before attempting to keep up with him as he ventured deeper into the cave. After a while, though, she could feel the distinct, rank odor of brimstone intensify, and she began to cough—her eyes were watering up again, and she quickly blinked as fast as she could manage to keep her field of vision as clear as possible. She was still gripping a certain Pokeball in her hands when she saw that there was something standing up on two legs not too far from them—and it was another familiar-looking ‘mon, as they were common in the region—but a rare sight in the unusual heat of Lavaridge and Mount Chimney altogether.
“The hell is that thing doing…” she trailed off once more, before it stood positioned as if preparing something, and then saw something dark materialize in-between its hands; and then it released what looked like an attack! She then let out a scream—and in the process of tumbling over to avoid it, one of the Pokeballs in her jacket pocket fell to the floor and emitted a flash of red light, coalescing into a very familiar shape… “Momo?!” she had time to shout out as the Emotion ‘mon quickly held its hands out as high as it could manage, attempting to erect a barrier and divert the said incoming blob of negative energy that was aimed right at her mistress! “Kirlia, kirlia… KI!!!” she heard it cry out, and felt a ripple throughout the area, and saw that the ball had seemingly stopped mere inches from its face—and then with another massive effort, Momo waved its arms and diverted the attack back in the opposite direction, where it raced towards its originator.
“Kirlia, kirlia, KI!” she growled; sounding very protective at that point in time, making her own psychic energy divert the attack back—and then with another few flicks, she had managed to make the little human-shaped acorn-faced ‘mon levitate several inches off the ground, before pouring the rest of her power and making the captive Nuzleaf float closer towards the Quilava. “Kirlia, ki! Kirlia!” she said, hoping it understood what it meant to convey—to sniff out the captive that she was trying to keep ahold of. The ‘mon itself was struggling and spitting out what seemed like a string of harsh calls and cries; and the Shadow Ball attack hit something not too far ahead—because that was where Momo had diverted it.
“Damn it…” she hissed, before recovering and straightening up, hen saying, “You saved my life, Momo. Thanks,” she said in one breath; that was one close call too many!
It seemed that being scissor locked into place the two were stuck only able to watch as they witnessed the battle unfold between Momo, and the hostile Nuzleaf, it was brief Bunji could not help but smirk feeling a sense of pride wash over him as he watched Momo dominate her opponent with relative ease, despite the close call she was doing a great job at managing it. When it was over it seemed whatever spell had taken hold of the two had been lifted seeing as they could move finally, Quilava would hear the words coming from Momo giving her a nod she herself prepared to sniff when suddenly the Nuzleaf that struggled, and cried to be let go would slowly vanish from view practically fading into nothingness. “Qui!?” she called out confused at what was happening, the male trainer would stare in silence his eyes remained somewhat distant to the whole situation, and his mind trying to formulate a logical explanation to all this, ”So the tales are true…okay then we move in deeper into the cave” he said with that turning on his heel walking towards the far end of the cave. Quilava would rush alongside her trainer making her way closer to the end of the cave which was visible from a blue glow that seemed to radiate into the long cave hallway.
Finally the group would emerge into quite the sight, there was a clearing the end of the cave the moisture here was so intense that Bunji could feel his skin become stickier thanks to the rise in moisture level, not only this but there was a large path a natural bridge made of stones that connected to a single circular island. It was there where Bunji’s cold crimsons focused on the figure that stood in the center of the island, short black hair adorned his head with bangs cascading down around his face, an odd max with a large white ‘X’ shape hid his face up to the nose, with a long black scarf the man was dressed somewhat oddly one could argue he resembled a shinobi. ”This explains it” the male said finally his smooth tone breaking the silence that settled when they entered the specters realm, Bunji felt no fear at first he felt a sense of surprise, but soon his mind understood the situation well. ”A tale told many times over the warm glow of campfires in life, the would be hero meets a terrible end, unable to cross to the afterlife they linger in the place of their death. Knowing of the dangers they scare off any would be adventurers to prevent them from meeting their end, this apparition is us getting a glimpse at the unsung hero of Lavaridge” he explained to Izumi. It seemed that the spirit had taken notice of their presence, seeing as he turned to face them both with his cold dead eyes.
From the ground on either side two Pokeballs floated up to chest level only to be forced open by invisible hands in a dazzling display of light the man would have called forth a Hariyama, and a Shiftry both the final evolutionary stages of the two Pokemon they had faced in the hallway not long ago. Unlike their spectral trainer, the Pokemon looked solid, and alive, this was a true testament to the undying loyalty of Pokemon the bond they had formed with this trainer in life had been so strong that even as a phantom they stood by his side. It made Bunji wonder if they knew that their trainer had passed on to the afterlife, ”Hariyama is yours, I will take the Shiftry let’s use type to our advantage” he said to Izumi, just before stepping forward his voice booming with the following command, ”Quilaa, Flame Charge aim for the Shiftry!” kicking off the ground the Quilava charged forward, manipulated the flames on her body to blaze around her resulting in her being engulfed into a living fireball.
Responding to the attack the phantom held his hand out, with that Shiftry charged at the Quilava, moving to the side the Shiftry would use its agile movements to avoid Quilava then counter with a powerful chop aiming straight down hitting Quilava cleanly, with a cry of pain the Pokemon was knocked away but not out. “Qui!” she cried out in anger glaring at her opponent who was charging in for another attack!

“These tales are dangerous for one’s health,” she muttered, coughing and hissing as Momo had gently pulled on the hemline of her jeans as they continued forward; Bunji remarking about how all myths and fables had a grain of truth in them—this was apparently happening to them at that very moment! After going through the cave some more (and holding her breath as long as possible so she didn’t have to keep coughing her head off) they finally appeared in a large cavern—wherein they saw something hovering approximately a few feet off the floor! “What the hell,” she began, as Kirlia came to a standstill and saw that the earlier ‘mons they’d encountered—a Makuhita and a Nuzleaf respectively—were real, and they were actually evolved and looked more menacing—did they know that the master they served had gone on ahead of them? she was about to say something when he leaped into action—the Quilava quickly expelling a blast of fire and charging forward—leaving her to deal with the hulking muscle-packed creature.
“Oh, craaa…” was all she had time for as the figure in front of her quickly meditated and looked like it was about to unleash an attack—but it would require some time; and yet who was faster?! She then quickly called out, “Momo, use your Toxic status change attack first, then let’s get started with Calm Mind!” while pointing at the target—she noticed that it helped if she was pointing at the actual thing, it helped her focus more. “Kirlia, ki!” she heard Momo trill before the noxious pool of purple suddenly emerged, cutting across the entire path of where the two hulking ‘mons stood guard; as if protecting their spectral master. “Bunji! What attacks do these two have?!” she called out, watching as Momo quickly centered its own focus, as if getting ready for something…
The pool of purple liquid spread out beneath the two opposing ‘mon’s feet; and the effect (at least on the Hariyama) was instantaneous—it suddenly broke out of its concentration and was stunned for a moment! Unfortunately, for the other ‘mon it didn’t seem to be fazed in the slightest, and she hissed before continuing with the commands, “Momo! Confusion, go!” and added to herself, Crap, you really need to learn Psychic soon…
--Toxic (Hariyama Poisoned), Calm Mind, Confusion (chance to cause confusion)--
He was so wrapped up in his own battle that he didn’t really have the attention to catch what Izumi had yelled out to him, instead he watched as Shiftry, and Quilava continued to attack one another, and dodge one another as well the fire type Pokemon would push off of all fours avoiding a low sweep from the Shitry. While it was airborne the small fire type would fire a steam of intense flames from its mouth aimed at the Shiftry, with the right timing the grass Pokemon was caught in the stream of flames knocked away with the force behind the fire attack forcing it to roll away rather violently on the stone floor of the cave. Landing with all four paws on the ground as she stopped feeding energy into her fire attack the small Pokemon watched as the Shiftry jumped up to his feet, shaking off the attack but flinching at the burning sensation of the burns that now scarred its entire right side. The Pokemon glared at the fire type holding out its right arm which began to give off a deep green glow, swinging that arm at the Quilava the Shiftry would unleash a barrage of razor sharp leafs aimed directly at Quilava, with her trainer now stepping in to give her direction the male would call out the following command.
”Quilava! Use Flame Charge to get through the leafs! Then slam straight into Shiftry!” he ordered with that the Quilava would cry out the flames on her back blazing as they once again surrounded her allowing her to charge forward directly at the incoming wall of leafs. The fire around her body helped in incinerating the leafs on contact, harmlessly passing through the blitz the Pokemon would charge forward slamming into the Shiftry. When contact was made the other Pokemon cried out in pain, falling back with a vicious roll until it finally skidded to a stop. Bunji watched as Quilava stood strong her eyes focused upon the Pokemon, suddenly the movement of the specter would cause Quilava to jump her eyes glaring at the phantom, and a low growl escaping her. Bunji watched from afar, quietly observing the ghost trainer as he walked towards his fallen Pokemon the phantom stared at the Pokemon in silence, then with a Pokeball floating next to him he returned Shifrty to his sphere, looking up he ignored both Bunji, and Quilava. The spirit was more focused upon the battle that was unfolding between his Hariyama, and the girl, turning his attention from the spirit Bunji focused his crimson eyes on the battle expecting Izumi to finish soon, Quilava returning to his side keeping a cautious eye on the ghost.

As she watched the hunk of psychic energy whistle through the air and head towards the bulky foe that se now faced, she then whistled; as there were signs of struggling etched on the Hariyama’s face, due to it getting poisoned due to Toxic connecting with it. The lump of energy then smacked it hard, which sent it reeling over backwards and skidding some paces back; and she hoped that the secondary effect of the Confusion attack would connect—but it was a no-go; so instead she took a deep breath and then called out more commands, “Okay, Momo, try to use a Magical Leaf attack first, then follow it up with another Confusion attack!” while pointing right at the Hariyama, which was now headed towards her at a speed so shocking, it was alarming—how could a bulky, meaty ‘mon move so fast?!
“Kirlia, ki!” Momo called out in reply, before quickly making the leaves made of psychic energy materialize and zoom through the air towards the lumbering foe—and then the same sphere of psychic energy that was manifested earlier was following the leaves that were screaming towards the ‘mon that was about to grab Momo and apparently toss her into the air! Hearing the grunts and groans from the massive Hariyama as it tried to fend off the leaves—it didn’t notice the Confusion attack that was following said leaves not too far behind, and received a full hit in the face, causing it to stagger even more backwards and reel over, before looking around—she noticed that the eyes were spinning around randomly, and suppressed a cheer—for once, her Confusion attack had landed and actually sent the opposing ‘mon into a state of actual confusion! She then crossed her fingers and then watched as the Hariyama turned around like a drunken monkey, before her peripheral vision alerted her to something out of the ordinary happening…
“Wait a second, how the hell is it supposed to summon its ‘mons back to its Pokeball, if the Trainer is…” she trailed off, watching as the Hariyama was walking tipsily, before it seemingly went through the floating specter and then fell over to its side—Momo was moving to attack, yet she held out her hand and stopped the ‘mon from launching even more attacks. “Calm down Momo, just wait and watch…” she said under her breath—as the Hariyama got up and tried to hug its trainer’s leg, but watching as its hands found no hold on the levitating, transparent legs the old man possessed. “What the…” she trailed off, continuing to watch in silence at what was happening.
It seemed the other battle had come to a conclusion as well, watching as the Hariyama waddled over in a state of complete confusion both Quilava, and Bunji stepped aside allowing the bulking Pokemon to stumble on by before it crashed into the ground with a thud yet when it tried to grab hold of its trainers leg the Hariyma found itself desperately grabbing for air, nothing more. Eventually the display came to an end when the specter brought around a second Pokeball, using it to return the Hariyama to its respective sphere, with that Bunji stepped forward towards the phantom. It seemed as though he would stop but he didn’t, he merely kept walking literally stepping through the spirit, causing the see through figure to temporarily phase out of view before returning to view again. Bunji would kneel down going through a pile of bones, without a car the male emerged holding a necklace in his hand a black strap made up the bulk of the necklace with a single fang hanging from it. ”As I suspected” he said, making sure all the bones where back in a neat pile he turned from them, his crimson eyes focusing upon the spirit itself, ”Your story will live on, your name will not be forgotten. Move on, and be at peace…Quilava, burn the bones” he commanded to his Pokemon.
With a nod the fire type focused her eyes on the pile of bone, then opened her mouth releasing a direct stream of intensely hot flames that engulfed the pile of bones, the spirit himself stood there staring at Bunji, then back at Izumi, finally his eyes cast themselves upon the cave floor, and closed. In an instant the seemingly calm spirit let out an ear piercing cry of pain as his body lit ablaze its body burning away, the pile of bones now a pile of ashes, with that Bunji knelt down picking up the two Pokeballs ”We will give all this to the old man who claims to be his brother” he said as he shrunk the two Pokeballs putting them in his pocket along with the necklace. Looking up at Izumi, he reached up scratching the side of his face ”….to be honest with everyone, I had no idea it would work…burning the bones, I just took a gamble on it” he admitted rather sheepishly as he cleared his throat. ”We should head out now” he said to Izumi, seeing as the mission was a complete success, motioning for Quilava to follow he started walking towards the girl along with his fire type by his side.

After watching the Hariyama lumbering around and eventually disappearing in a flash of red light, she watched as he tried to approach the floating specter—and almost shrieked out in surprise as he seemingly “phased through” the ghost of the man; and then found something of interest in the general area. Returning within her field of vision a few moments later holding something that resembled a necklace made of leather, with a single embellishment hanging from it. “Wait a moment, what are you…?” she began, before watching his Quilava take a deep breath, and then exhaled a blast of super-hot fire; she could feel the heat even from where she stood. Momo pulled at the hem of her jeans and then inquired, “Kirlia, kirlia, ki…?” while looking between her and her ‘father’ out of confusion at what was going on.
“To be honest, I am not sure on what’s happening either… but…” she began, before hearing what sounded like a shriek of pain emanating throughout the entire area where they stood. She then raised her hands to cover her ears; for the sound that was echoing throughout the confined space was too unearthly, it sounded like someone was being burned alive. She then instead looked ar Momo, who in turn stared back at her—before she heard approaching footsteps. “You know,” she began, before looking at the two Pokeballs that he was holding, “how the specter managed to wield the ‘mons even from the afterlife will forever be a mystery for me. Didn’t you find that strange…?” she ended, before nodding ad following him out of the cave, secretly grateful that she wouldn’t be putting up with the stench of brimstone for much longer.
